She hardly recognizes her brother anymore: the man who once didn't eat to ensure she wasn't going hungry is now long gone.
Sophia's brother, Daryl, is late coming home, and when he does arrive, his face has been beaten to a bloody pulp. When he calls her Buttercup, she knows she's going to pay the price for his misdeeds. He's been addicted to both gambling and drugs since getting in with a bad crowd. Now he's borrowed from loan sharks that he can't repay. He's the only family she has left, so she can't have him killed if there’s any way she can help him. There is, if she'll go with them as collateral.
When she hesitates, he tells her to finally be useful for once. She's thought many times about cutting her ties with him. However, she remembers how many times he cared for her after their mother OD'd and before his addictions took over, so she couldn't do it.
He promises to get her back tomorrow after he gets his paycheck. The limo is waiting outside for her, and Daryl shoves her in the backseat, tells the men that here she is just like they agreed upon, and again promises to get her back tomorrow. When she agreed, she didn't realize that loan sharks will do anything to get their money ASAP. She learned that lesson when they auctioned her off.
Grayson has no need to pay to have a woman spend time with him. He's heard about the lowlife men who auction off women. He's never been interested in attending. However, he overheard Connor Grant's whispered phone call. A man has offered his sister to pay off his debt, and she's a confirmed virgin. He also hears the chapel mentioned, so he knows she's being sold. Since Connor is his biggest real estate competitor, he knows he'll be at tonight's auction.
He's heard that women at these auctions aren't highly paid escorts but unwilling participants. He wants to investigate and has Damien Hart, his PI friend, go with him.
When he gets out of his car, he sees a beautiful girl being forced by two men dragging her towards the chapel. Her eyes beg him to help her. As he starts to approach her, Damien restrains him. It's better to wait until they know what is actually going on first. Damien had also heard about the auctions but told Grayson the only way to snoop would be to go as buyers. A buyer would never interfere with a girl being dragged inside.
Sophia is forced to change into "something appropriate." When she protested, Scarface pulled out his gun, telling her to change her clothes or he'll kill her. Talk about incentive!! He hands her a tag with the number 4 on it, tells her to attach it, and to enter when her number is called.
Grayson is shocked to learn that the women aren't being sold for a night; they're being sold as slaves! Their owners can keep them as long as they like and use them as long as they want them. Treat them as they desire: get rid of them by whatever manner they desire, including murder.
Grayson sees that Connor is already there, seated towards the front wearing a smug face. He's also had several drinks. Grayson seats himself towards the back of the room and waits. In the crowd he sees police officers, public officials, along with many prominent and wealthy men. He didn't realize how many ties and support this organization had, making it harder to destroy. He also didn't realize the women had to perform for their buyers.
Grayson grew up in foster care. He's well aware of the feeling of hopelessness. He never knew his parents. He was passed through the system most of his youth. He was very angry and not afraid to fight. Then he realized that if he was ever going to be able to succeed, he needed to forget the anger and apply himself to bettering himself. Clawing his way up over the years, he's now the most successful property tycoon in the city.
So far Connor hasn't made any bids. Is he there to buy or to ensure the mentioned woman is sold?
After the third sale, he's getting ready to leave. But the next woman brought in is the one from the parking lot. He knew when he entered that he couldn't save all the women, but he can save her!

After a bidding war, which he easily won, he took her to his mansion. The next morning he realizes that no matter how successful he's been, he's always had a feeling of emptiness. He also needs to find out her background, especially how she ended up at the auction! No one has ever captured his heart before, but she did it so easily. He also realized that he's led an empty life, but that no longer will be true. He'll try his best to make sure she'll willingly choose to become the most precious part of his life.
She should have known that her life was too good to be true. Soon after Grayson left the mansion one day, Daryl came to collect her...

We are going back to the seedy underground chapel folks. Young Sophia, she really is a sweet and trusting person, gets tricked into helping out her older brother Daryl. Daryl is bad bad news. Drugs. Gambling. He owes people money. Daryl is desperate. And what he does is twisted and unforgivable. He sells his sister to the infamous chapel.🫢🫢🫢🫢🫢🫢

While this is a shorter read, it does reach an emotional depth for our main couple Sophia and Grayson Blackwood. Grayson has his own troubled past but he went to the chapel, with his trusted friend Damien Hart (I think we will see Damien again👍🏻) to see if maybe they could find out more about this secret place. What he found was wealthy powerful men buying women. Again. Read those TW b/c human trafficking is a big part of this series. Grayson is a very very wealthy business man, he's a real estate tycoon. And when he sees Sophia, he felt drawn to her. He couldn't leave her there to those vultures. 💸20 million.💸 That was the price. And to get her away from Connor Grant. It got intense. I could feel the stress of the situation. Stipulations followed. Acts. Then freedom.
Like I wrote, this book is shorter, the world building keeps going higher with seedy betrayals and great loves. Grayson, I think is older than Sophia, but he really fell hard for her. He shared his past, letting her know what kind of man he really is. He's very overprotective and generous. Kind. He knows what's loneliness feels like. But with her, he doesn't feel that anymore. He likes his dirty talk too.😝😝 Not once did he think he could fall in love, but he did.😚😚😚
Sophia is really sweet. Naive to a fault. She has a bad past too and shared it with Grayson. But she also shared her dreams. Despite her fears she wants to be with the man. And these two had so much fire and spice.🔥🥵🔥🥵🔥 Did it make sense? Probably not. But their need for each other took over along with their emotional feelings. There's no pretending with them which I loved. Sophia fell in love too. How could she not. Grayson is hot!💋💋 Until Daryl came looking for her.🙊🙈 How he found Grayson's home, I really don't know, but I went with it. Daryl got rough. Ugly. I couldn't stand him!! But Sophia is super loyal to him. Yes. Her brother. Buuuutt, sometimes even family doesn't deserve that much. Especially with the hurt and damage caused by him. And Grayson wasn't having any of it when he arrived. Remember. Overprotective! That man would never allow anyone to hurt her. What happened next??? I can't tell you. Okay, this one? Whew. I was not emotionally prepared—and I loved that.
When I picked up Sold to the Investor, I was expecting spice (and yeah, it absolutely delivers on that front), but what caught me off guard was the heart of this story. It’s steamy, yes. Raw? Oh, completely. But it’s also about reclaiming your self-worth, even when the world has tried to put a price tag on your pain.
Sophia. God, my heart broke for her. She’s that kind of heroine who feels real in her vulnerability—she’s been through it, and she’s still standing, still sacrificing, still trying to hold together the broken pieces of her world. The moment she steps onto that stage? I felt that shame, that fury, that surreal numbness she was probably clinging to. And then—Grayson.
Grayson is the fantasy. Not just because he’s alpha and rich and hot as sin (which, yes, all of the above), but because he sees her. Not as an object, not as something broken, but as someone precious. He doesn’t swoop in and “fix” everything—he gives her the space and safety to choose. To want, to feel, to live again. Nope !!!!!!
First, this book really was frustrating to me. I did not care for this book at all. The FMC was a naive whiny little girl and how she treated the MMC after her brother was beating her. I guess he should have just let the brother beat her up if she was going to take up for the bro. I get the whole family thing. But it was sad that she allowed her brother to treat her like that and when she stood up for herself. That was great, but when Grayson tried to be there for her and whooped that brothers booty. She still protected the brother over him. I found it very irritating and for that. I did not care for the fmc. I felt that Grayson deserved better. In the beginning of the book. Where the females were auctioned off like cattle, not 1 person did anything to protect these girls. They were sold without their permission and had to do unspeakable things that were disturbing. and the reviews that I read before reading this book. It talked about how great this book was. It was very misleading... so with everything that happened in the beginning of the book with all the females that were assaulted it was never talked about again and there was no justice. So I found the book not for me . It's frustrating n heartbreaking to read about that n not get closeure or see the females resued n the abuser go down .

Wow! This is one outstanding oh so so hot ebook that I absolutely loved. This exceptionally talented author will keep you on the edge of your seat with all of the excitement and possible danger. This is book two of the author’s High Rollers series and features Grayson, a real estate investor intent on putting a stop to the old chapel auctions that were trafficking women. One look at the frightened beauty being manhandled and begging for help has him seeing red and determined to save her.
Sophia had no idea where she was or why she was there but after being manhandled and threatened with a firearm, she’s terrified of what comes next. Thankfully, the only person in the whole place capable of making her feel safe is the one who purchased her.
This was a steamy little read with an MMC who didn’t even try to pretend like he wasn’t totally obsessed with the gorgeous young woman he’d been helpless to resist and I was here for it!!

This was an intense romance that takes our gal, Sophia, and has her unexpectedly sacrificed by her brother to the auction to clear his debts. She went, believing him, but finds herself treated roughly and put on stage to be sold to the highest bidder. Enter Grayson, a rich tycoon doing some investigation into The Chapel and the dirty deeds going on there, when he sees Sophia and is shocked by the connection he feels to her. You know he’s going to win the bid to try and save her but he goes OTT and possessive for her. These two just can’t resist their chemistry ;P Of course, there’s more drama, action and danger, but never fear, they get their hot HEA in the end. Definitely a darker read but it was so good ;D I’m loving the gentle connection between books and can’t wait for the Damien’s tale :D

Things haven’t been great for a while, but when her brother pawns her for his gambling debts, she is horrified. Even more horrified to find out they intend to auction her virginity. He it’s not there to buy anyone but her vulnerability calls to him and he wants to save her. Once he gets her out of there all good intentions, go out the window when they find themselves drawn together with a steamy hot chemistry. This is a short story format. You do not expect to get complex character development, or an overly detailed plot line. It was a very quick read with a happily ever after. If you’re looking for a quickie and don’t have a lot of time, this works. If you want to get wrapped up in the characters, this probably isn’t for you as they are a little flat.

He forgot about the performance aspect of the deal. This is an intriguing story that might start out shady but ends tenderly, lovingly and very steamy.

OMG 😱 this was a quick read. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was so intense. I was on the verge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. Sophia's brother, Daryl never came home. It seems like something happened to him that night. Did her get into with bad people and owning them money as we know it. She couldn’t even fight the temptation any longer. Grayson was intrigued with her beauty but she couldn’t handled the truth that will change her life forever. But Grayson knew that he has to have her for him self right now in this moment. Grayson was a big time player who own a gambling club.

He is at the auction to find out what is going on. One look at Sophia, and he knows he wants to be with her forever. These two had hot chemistry, and we got a great HEA after some danger and drama.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved everything about it, I was hooked. I am not normally a fan of short reads, but this didn't feel like it was one. The storyline was well thought out and well written too. Sophia has had a rough ride and her brother hasn't helped much either. She will stand by him even though he is mixed up in the wrong crowd. When she meets Grayson unexpectedly, he is what she needs to help her turn her life around. I thought this book was full of drama and I read it to the end in one sitting. It was a great read.
