First, I want to thank Peter Valdez III, Tasche Laine and Mei Mei Leonard for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Peter Valdez III, Tasche Laine and Mei Mei Leonard are back again with their 10th children’s book What If? Lil Peter What If? I have been with Lil Peter’s journey throughout this series and see him grow up in his books. This one out of all of them is by far my favorite. It has so many important messages that are not only great for children but adults as well. For me personally there was a special message at the end of the book that I took away from it.
This book will get your kids thinking and expanding their mind about the bigger picture out there. Maybe it could form a discussion at home between you both at home.
Not only has the story grown but Mei Mei’s drawings have evolved with the characters as well. As I have said before, the three of them make a great team. I look forward to seeing more adventures in the future! Congrats on your 10th book!

Lil Peter learns a valuable lesson about how precious time is with his friends. One day, as they are feeling bored and trying to think of fun and exciting things to do, they see the principal picking up trash in the park. He starts asking them a very interesting and intriguing question: What if you had $86,400 but had to spend it all in one day? The friends share their wild ideas about what they would do with all that money, from buying toys and sports equipment to riding unicorns, until they realize that they all have 86,400 seconds every day. They learn about what is truly important in their lives and that each second is precious. They need to make the most of what they have and spend their time wisely with purpose. This is a great lesson for all ages. We often complain about not having enough time, yet we waste so much time doing things that aren't worthwhile or important, or complaining about trivial things. We need to be more conscious about how we use the time we have.

Inspiring Story with a Brilliant Lesson
My youngest always loves the Lil Peter books. They’re so well written and illustrated and always share an important lesson without being preachy. This one definitely captured his imagination and he was excited to share his own ideas of what he would do in the kids situation. We loved the ending though, showing what’s really important.

This book not only explores the possibilities of imagination but shows the reader how they already have everything they need to live an exciting and rewarding life.
Lil Peter and his friends are not short on ideas when presented with the idea that they’d get thousands of dollars to use each day. But what they don’t realize at first is how they already have thousands of seconds in every day!
This is a clever principle that drives home the point of not letting time go to waste. The authors present this in a fun and relatable way that will have readers rethinking everything! While money holds a lot of value, time does as well, and this is such an important lesson. I absolutely loved the creativity and determination shown in this book. Lil Peter never disappoints!

This is the 12th book in the Lil Peter Series. As always, we loved the book and its meaningful story with an empowering message. The authors put a great spin on a fact we may already know: time is a gift, make the best of every moment. Children and adults alike will have something to think about by the end of the book. In addition, the find-and-seek game encourages the reader to go back and find fun items hidden throughout the fabulous illustrations. Lil Peter hits it out of the park again!
