Pippa came home for the holidays, knowing she would see Brian—but she didn’t expect one late-night phone call once she got back to Boston to change everything… Brian never wanted Pippa to see how far he had fallen, but when she sees him at his lowest, he can’t push her away this time. She’s always been the one who believed in him, the one who saw the best in him—even when he couldn’t see it himself. But love alone can’t fix everything. As Pippa prepares to graduate from Harvard Medical School, her future is waiting. Brian’s problems are pulling him under. When the line between saving someone and losing yourself begins to blur, how do you decide if loving someone is worth risking everything?
I was tired of her doing all the legwork in the relationship/friendship. He was doing the bare minimum but loved her so much. I know that she is supposed to be helping him deal with some trauma, but he needs to try a little bit. Even before the story started, to have some effort would have been nice.
Pip and Brian grew up together as best friends and neighbors. Pip is in school to be a doctor and Brian is war vet. 8 years have gone by since High School graduation. Neither Pip or Brian know that the other is madly in love with them… Pips life is now in Boston where she’s goes to med school and Brian is now home from the war with PTSD and issues that go along with that. Can their friendship and love outlast all of their trials? You’ll have to read to find out! A easy read written from the perspective of both Pip and Brian and both characters are very relatable. I do recommend this book.
I absolutely loved this book. This is the sweetest love story, with tension keeping you on the edge of your seat till the very end. The story also addressed over coming personal demons, and choosing self love and self worth in such an inspiring way. It was a beautiful story. I read this start to finish in one session.
Lindsey is a friend, and this is her first book. While romance is not my preferred genre, I really enjoyed The Addiction of Us. It is an amazing achievement for Lindsey!
