Single mother of four Jenna Young is a high school teacher who works an extra after school job as a tennis coach to make ends meet. When she is bullied by an entitled parent at her private school to quit coaching, it gives her more time to play the sport she loves – and by chance, meet the best players in the local Tennis Players of Dallas (TPD) league. She quickly learns that over 8,000 players are in this competitive league, and she has been encouraged to join one of the top teams. Many of her teammates are half her age and former collegiate athletes, and Jenna is surprised that she is accepted by them and can keep up with them on the courts. As they prepare during the hot summer months in Dallas for the fall tennis season, Jenna learns about her teammates’ lives and loves, and is thrilled to be a part of this dynamic group. She also finds herself attracted to two men on the one younger, and one married, so neither can be a serious love interest. Still, she finds her life becoming more and more joyful as she spends time with her hilarious teammates, and rediscovers her favorite things in Tennis, stories, laughter and friendship. As the team’s season begins in September, Jenna’s excitement about helping her team move up in the rankings replaces her painful decades of raising children alone, and she soon realizes that she now has time to slow down and enjoy herself with her new friends. Team Tennis and the kindness of her teammates has healed her heart and made her emotionally and physically stronger than she’s ever been, giving her a new and better life and a brighter future than she ever imagined.
