Oh, okay, this is volume new of a new story arc, according to the author's notes. That makes the giant time skip feel less random and abrupt. Also, I guess, explains why there aren't the pretty color plates anymore?

It feels a little unrealistic for Setagawa to still be so reluctant and shy about the physical side of their relationship when they've been together for literal years at this point, but I guess that's a main component of their dynamic that Memeco doesn't want to completely let go of. I honestly can't tell what this arc is actually about...we've already resolved the stalkers (plural) and ex-girlfriend (singular) storylines, so I'm not sure what the central conflict is meant to be.

I am enjoying the mature, established relationship though. In everything except the physical, Setagawa is so confident and self-assured now. He holds his own with Kousuke, to the point where everyone has noticed how much softer Kousuke has gotten. Setagawa can very easily wrap Kousuke around his finger if he wanted - and the fact that he doesn't is probably part of what makes Kousuke so hooked on him.

Setagawa taking the initiative to talk to each stalker was so good and so satisfying, after those early volumes when he was so nervous and insecure. He's a very kind, thoughtful person who nevertheless does genuinely value his relationship with Kousuke. Despite what Kousuke still fears, Setagawa isn't the guy anymore who'd jump at the idea of sacrificing their relationship for the greater good - even if he does get sad at the thought of things like taking away Kousuke's chance at a "normal" family, with children and all.

Maybe some of this arc will be about Setagawa expanding his social life and gaining more friends at college? That would be nice, especially since he's apparently a second year and we still haven't seen any of his college life yet.

I was a little confused about the dad's holiday stuff - who was the she he was talking about? Does he not actually know yet that Setagawa and his son are dating...? That felt weirdly unclear and I'm not sure if I just missed something.

Love Setagawa fitting into their family so well, though, with the new little kid definitely growing up with Setagawa as another beloved family member. Where is this story going? Not sure, but I guess I've given up on caring that much. It's just fun to spend time with them all. This will always be such a nostalgic favorite.

I've kind of cooled on this series. I used to get excited when new mangas were released but it seems like the series is just treading water. Nothing has happened in the main relationship in a while and nothing has happened in either person's life. I am reading this just to complete the series but I'm a little tired of it. That is in complete contrast to cherry magic which sees the relationship and the main characters change and grow.
