firstly, thank you to the publisher for an arc!

2.5 - 3 stars? — honestly, i ate up the first 30% of this romance novel, but after that, the plot and dialogue started to wilt, and fast.

while i guess trad publishers are really hesitant to add genuine spicy spice to their “dom coms”, this was still rather spicy but just felt completely unbelievable. our fmc rae is a complete people pleaser as well as the head of hr — everything she does for her coworkers is completely the exact opposite of hr’s role; and yet being the head of hr she still decides to 1) not disclose a relationship with an employee and 2) has sex multiple times in the office… her behavior as a rule follower/people pleaser/head of hr just appeared a tad unrealistic, and if i wanted unrealistic i’d read a romantasy.

not to mention, readers only get one and a half club scenes, which mostly take place in the beginning of the book; the opening scene in the club was fantastic, and we’re never brought back to that energy.

as for the plot as to how our mcs coincidentally remain in contact outside of the club? completely threadbare.

overall, i was excited for this book and the first 30% showed true potential — if it had kept that energy, this book would have been so much better off

——

listen, i’m tearing through this like no one’s business, ok??? — this is the perfect amount of spice and cringey millennial humor (surprisingly!)

this book was extremely entertaining from start to finish for me!!

i really loved rae’s chaos mixed with grants harder demeanor, i think it made them a great match for one another. the idea of them finding one another that night at the club and then life throwing them together again was super fun for me. i loved the length of the chapters, i feel like it kept things super engaging and amusing. the side characters with the excepting of a few bad apples were all delightful honestly. sam was a great bestfriend for rae & her sisters are a blast.

one of the only things i would have liked to see a bit more of would have been scenes in the club and harlow/lucas being there for grant. i feel like those things kind of got pushed to the side a bit…

overall this was a very fun quick read for me which i desperately needed so i think i happened to pick his book up at the perfect timing. im very much looking forward to seeing if adriana will continue with the sisters or sam’s HEAs!!

3.5!

I liked it a lot it was very light hearted and straight forward with a lot of heart behind it.

Grant and Rae meet at his kink club and then end up being office coworkers sharing a literal office space. Oh did the tension immediately brew. Grant is grumpy work-focused not looking for anything serious and Rae is a ray of sunshine going above and beyond (to the point of burn out) for anyone and everyone. They learn a lot from eachother and teach eachother balance and it is exceptionally cute.

- Dom / sub spice
- Grumpy x sunshine
- workplace romance

Thanks to Forever and NetGalley for the eARC.

4 ⭐️ The Hating Game but make it k!nky!

And listen! I can admit that The Hating Game may have had a bit more get-to-know-you, swoony stuff in it… but also, it’s so similar! I kept thinking back to it over and over while reading the shared office scenes!

This book has Rae, a little baby sub on her search to find her dream Dom… or so she thought. Grant, however enamored he might have been with her, is not looking for a sub—especially not one who needs him for more than a single night. Their connection, though, is undeniable. So, when Rae sets foot in her brand-new office only to see Grant standing there… yeah, sh!t gets messy, tense, and honestly kind of funny!

I really did enjoy this book—probably more than I expected to during the first 25%. It took me a while to warm up to Grant, to be honest. He was too high-handed and kind of a prick, which made it hard to see him as a well-rounded character rather than just another alphahole Dom MMC who thinks he’s all that when he can barely speak in full sentences without insulting someone. But anyway… the plot, while predictable, was still cute and charming enough. I could have used a better epilogue, but that’s just me.

Now, the spice… this thing is kink-filled and, while it tries to be respectful and keep consent at the forefront of their encounters, there were a few close calls that felt unnecessary and straight-up weird to me (see: the belt + chair + office scene). That one felt wrong, but since they both gave consent, that was that… even though more people entered the room! I don’t know, but yeah…

Overall, definitely a good read—entertaining and fluffy enough to make your day a bit brighter!

TW: Cheating spouse (not involving the MCs)

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me this eARC!!

Dom-Com is a light-hearted, sweet story with a dash of kinky on the side.

The main characters were delightful. Rae is the agreeable, passive type, often going above and beyond in both her personal and professional life to be helpful to those around her. One thing she does for herself? Visit a club to find herself a Dom. Grant Bowman is her contrast. He is all grump, dedicated to crafting and following rules. The most important rule is not to commit. To anything. He is a wanderer, of sorts. The delightful sub he met last night showing up at his new place of work? Not ideal.

The story did feel like a rom-com to me, in that it was fun and quick-paced. The chapters are relatively short, allowing the story to progress at a good pace. I expected it to be kinkier based on the title, but that's a subjective assessment based on my reading history (we listen and we don't judge).

There were a couple of areas that fell short for me. Some of the subplots felt underdeveloped, such as the work crises and Grant's commitment issues. The reveal and resolution at the end felt abrupt and frail as a result. I would have loved to see more development and growth of Grant's character. It would have made the conclusion of Grant and Rae's story feel more authentic.

The dialogue is a little chaotic, which I felt was intentional to reflect the frenzied energy of Rae and her sisters and friends, but it became distracting. There is a lot of speech disfluency, which others may find enjoyable. It might also be received differently via audio.

Overall, I rate this a 3.75, so I'm rounding up. It was a genuinely fun read. I appreciated the open communication between the main characters; their relationship was quite cute, and the spice was fantastic.

Thank you to Adriana Anders and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an advanced reading copy via NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

ARC 4.5 Stars!

Dom/Sub + Workplace Romance + Curvy FMC + 18+ Kink Club

This started out with a bang and kept me hooked. It follows Rae, who enters a kink club for her first time looking for her perfect Dom. The kink club is having a speed dating event and dud after dud keeps pairing with her until one guy gets a little too handsy and the part owner of the club, The General aka Grant, throws him out and reluctantly introduces himself to Rae. He is instantly attracted to her but has a fear of commitment. So he agrees to show her the ropes of what a healthy Dom/Sub relationship should be, but their night is cut short before any real action happens.

Rae goes to work the next day who happens to be the new consultant hired by her boss to sniff out the data leak? Yep, Grant, her almost one night stand. They decide to set rules in place to prevent each other from crossing the professional boundary, but we all know how that goes.

This was a fun spicy time. I loved that Rae had the hobby of working on book nooks. Ive always loved book nooks and it would be so fun if art prints that came along with this book had a picture of her potential book nooks. Like most third act conflicts with one character who has commitment issues, I found it to be slightly annoying. But it made sense for Grant because of his past and his mother who had an unbelievable amount of ex-husbands.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to those who like spicy but light hearted sub/dom romances.

This book was sent to me from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This one is for anyone who loves their romcoms with banter, steam, and just a touch of chaos.

We’ve got a sweet, people-pleasing heroine looking to explore a new side of herself, and a broody, emotionally walled-off Dom who’s absolutely not ready for the way she gets under his skin. Their chemistry? Immediate. Their connection? Electric. And when life throws them into close quarters at work, that attraction becomes a slow, simmering pressure cooker of power plays, emotional growth, and undeniable tension.

The spice was hot—shockingly so for how heartfelt the story is—and the humor hit all the right notes. I loved how much the heroine grew in confidence and voice. There’s great forced proximity, “we shouldn’t, but we’re gonna,” and classic romcom miscommunications layered in with kink, growth, and a bit of workplace drama.

My only hang-up? I wanted a bit more from the hero’s arc—specifically when it came to how he processed emotions and communicated—but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the ride.

Also - you need to suspend disbelief - the corporate espionage elements are in no ways, at all, even remotely realistic.

I want to thank Netgalley for the arc.

I DNFd this book at 77% (320 pages) on November 4th, 2025 (started November 3rd). This book started so well with the BDSM having actual, proper etiquette and rules shown. I was so excited from that alone. But then the more we got into the book, the more it seemed like those rules were forgotten. The MMC starts a scene pretty much immediately the second time they meet (third time?) without any sort of acknowledgement, and that continues onward throughout the book.

The FMC was chaotic - and not in the best way. It was hard to read at first, but then I got over it. The subplot was super obvious after a single line, and when it came to fruition, I didn't feel anything because I knew it was happening.

I also just felt like the main relationship was only lust. We barely see the main couple interacting outside of work, where they have sex, and when they have sex. I'm 77% in. I'm not going to believe there's love within the next 27%.

I ended up DNFing because the FMC is a pushover. She says she's not a pushover, but then allows herself to be a pushover multiple times (with her sisters, her coworkers). The final reason that pissed me off and made me DNF was the FMC finds out her boss essentially doesn't trust her to do her job properly and she's....perfectly okay with it?

Yeah, no. Here's to hoping the other books on my TBR by this author go better than this.

ARC Review:

Rae- ADHD as fuck, Eldest Daughter Syndrome to the MAXX
Grant- Grumpy baby, ROMANTIC at heart, absolutely precious, Daddy but also not?

Really appreciate reading a book, especially when I don't know the author, and casual mention of queer people shows up. Dorothy having a wife, members of the Kink club giving pronouns. It feels so much BETTER and real, especially given the history between Kink and Queer.

Chapter 15: Uses Sunny instead of Rae while alone with her at the office. Scolds her, AND shows he has been paying a lot of attention to her and omg this man has it BAD

Omfg Grant GRANT!!! And the Vans? Poor Dom.

I fucking LOVE the mental switch between when Grant uses Sunny vs Rae. I fucking LOVE IT SO MUCH

Revenge Fantasy if Revenge Fantasies were about overworked and burnt out people pleasing eldest daughters finally got to focus on themselves, take care of themselves, but also get taken care of by someone who knows their needs And wants to care for them above all else.

Grant is honestly pathetic in the best way, the secret data breach storyline is absolutely a great little mystery in the middle of it all and seriously fuck Dane and Schaffer.

I want to see everyone else get love tho...

Overall this was so much FUN! This review is comprised of my addled notes taken during reading.

༄˖°.☕️.ೃ࿔📜*:・ First, a huge thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me read an ARC of Dom Com! 💖 ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵)

That being said… this is my completely honest review, enjoy! 😽

⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (It feels more appropriate to round up to 4⭐️ on GR)

🎬 The Setup:
Grant “General” Bowman and Rae “Sunny” Jensen meet at the kink club "Off the Cuff"—an unexpected, steamy speed date situation that instantly sparks something explosive. Rae is a baby sub looking for a Dom, Grant is an experienced Pleasure Dom not looking for anything serious… but of course, that doesn’t stop them from chemistry overload. Fast-forward to Monday morning, and the universe drops them into the same office as coworkers and professional rivals. Absolute chaos (and sexy fun) ensues.

˙✧˖°🔆 ༘ ⋆。˚ Rae “Sunny” Jensen:
Rae was so easy to root for! Funny, bratty, caring, and just sunny enough to balance Grant’s brooding dominance. She’s the type of heroine who makes you want to grab a coffee and sit beside her while she plots her next sassy move. Her journey from “mom friend” to prioritizing herself was satisfying without being preachy.

⫘⫘⫘Grant “General” Bowman⫘⫘⫘:
The perfect Dom. Bossy, attentive, smart, hot as hell, and still somehow kind. Grant’s dirty talk skills had me blushing and holding my breath—top tier. His “I don’t do love” persona hits all the workplace romance and grumpy X sunshine vibes, and watching him try to maintain his self-imposed rules while fuming over Rae was such a fun ride. And did I mention he's a pleasure dom?? 🥵

˚˖𓍢ִ🌶₊˚ʚ 😮‍💨 ₊˚ Chemistry & Spice Level:
Unmatched. Instant attraction, kink, playful domination/sub tension… the book definitely delivers for anyone looking for a lighthearted but steamy read. Spice level: 3–4/5🌶.

⋆。‧˚ʚ⏳ɞ˚‧。⋆ Pacing & Plot:
The first 30–50 pages were a little slow for me, but once I got into the groove? Hooked. I read it in one sitting, I was planning on just starting it before bed but then I could not put it down. Character-driven, and I loved the balance of kink-club weekend escapades with their weekday office antics. Minor icks: text abbreviations like “IRL” and “FFS” felt unnecessary, and the early pop culture references tried a little too hard before the story found its own voice.

✉⋆ ˚。 ⋆💭˚ My Final Thoughts:
If you’re in the mood for a sexy, funny, kink-forward contemporary romcom with amazing character chemistry, Dom Com is for you. The early pages take a second to hook you, but trust me, it’s worth it. Even with minor typos and a few small icks, I fully recommend this for anyone looking for a playful, office-meets-kink romance.

💌 If you love steamy office romances with a kinky twist, grab this one!

I was so excited to read this book but wow, what an absolute bummer of a book. With a title like Dom Com, there were some clear, high expectations and sadly they just weren’t met with this book. This book didn’t deliver on the Dom or the Com, or even really the Rom though, to be fair, Rom wasn’t part of the title.

I think my main problem stems from the corporate intrigue storyline kind of taking over the plot of the book. It was a boring storyline, I could not have cared less about it and yet, for so many chapters, I had to read about the data leak on the dark web and Dorothy’s asshole son in law trying to steal her company away from her.

Then there was Sam, Rae’s best friend, acting all strange and mysterious and admitting to dating a married man (what?!?) and clearly the hints were there and fairly obvious (she takes her work laptop home which is a big NO but no one calls her out on it until the end) and it just felt badly paced. In fact, the story focused a lot on side characters and it was at the cost to the actual romance.

Which brings me to the actual romance between people pleaser Rae and relationship phobic Grant. Now, I’m not an expert on D/s relationships but I understand that consent is a key cornerstone to any successful relationship, specifically one involving D/s. This one begins promisingly at the club with a lot of consent but the bulk of their sexual escapades (sexcapades?) takes place at work, which is extremely awkward given that Rae is head of Human Resources for the company they work for and Grant is a consultant brought in to find the security leak, unbeknownst to everyone including Rae. And there’s a real lack of boundaries and also consent. Like she could say no at anytime, I guess, but he never checks in or asks if she’s ok with the stuff they do in their shared office.

The third act breakup comes when Grant randomly decides he isn’t relationship material and break off with her, then months pass and he comes to his senses and goes to Rae and asks for a second chance and boom, she forgives him IMMEDIATELY! Like, at least make him work for it a little bit? This was just a meh book and the fact that it took me 6 days to finish it is a clear sign that I was bored. It could’ve been a shorter, tighter book.

ARC from publisher, review is all mine;

Content notes: FMC’s mom died from cancer when she was younger; mentions of grief; MMC’s mom is a serial bride;

This was such an interesting and entertaining read for me, very light-hearted, very fluffy. Think The Hating Game but with a more adult, kinky twist.

Our two main characters first cross paths in a kink club, only to discover later that they’re actually coworkers.

The first 30% was fantastic. I was hooked, the dynamic was fun, and the chemistry was really working for me. But after that, the momentum started to fade a little.

While I understand this story is centered around a dominant–submissive dynamic and meant to explore that angle, some parts felt a bit unrealistic to me and occasionally pulled me out of the story. And not to mention, the fact that our FMC works in HR raises a lot of questions about workplace boundaries and professionalism that the book kind of glosses over.

Still, despite the bumps, I did enjoy the book overall.

Dont let the cutsey pink cover fool you.. this one is spicy! The sexual tension and chemistry between Grant and Rae (aka the General and Sunny) was tangible- I could feel the heat and steam 🥵🍆
I was not reading reading this one for the plot, this read was purely for escape and entertainment- and it completely delivered ✅

What a fun romcom with a healthy dose of spice! The sexual tension between the MCs was deliciousss! I was surprised that the kink club setting wasn’t utilized more, so I think this does lean more into romcom than erotica, but I still absolutely loved it. Their relationship was equal parts lust and love, the workplace shenanigans were so unrealistic and HOT, and the side plots were engaging. I really really enjoyed this story and how much Grant loved taking care of Rae. Couple goals, actually. Hot af and sweet together. This was my first book by Anders, and it won’t be my last!

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

I am absolutely obsessed. Thank you so much to Forever for the earc.

Rae decides to spice up her sex life after breaking up with a boyfriend. She attends a speed dom/sub event at a local kink club, and comes face to face with General. A mysterious dom that gives her a taste of what being a sub is like. She goes home remembering that night. Later, Rae is going to work, where she is the hr director of a dating app startup, and comes face to face with him again. Except he is there as a consultant.

The lines are blurred, rules are made, and rules are broken. There was so much hilarious banter in this book, seriously spicy scenes, and sweet romance.

There's rarely an Adriana Anders book I don't love, so when I saw this was available on netgalley, I was feral to read it and devoured it in less than 3 hours. Her books are always this combination of spice and emotional intimacy and this one was the same, maybe just not as intense as some of the others. I still really enjoyed it and would not kick The General out of bed for eating crackers. I'd rate it a 3.5.

As a crazy cat lady, I loved the cat subplot of softening the MMC up. I wished there was some cute little tie up at the end where both of their cats bonded.

I was bothered by, in the beginning, he tells her all of these things a Dom is supposed to abide by in a relationship with their sub, including setting the parameters of play beforehand and in numerous situations within the book, he doesn't do that. I know he's supposed to be overcome with lust for her, it just rubbed me the wrong way. Because those are things you very much don't do in a kink situation especially with a brand new person or a brand new relationship. I know this is fiction but...

The spice is top tier, as I've come to expect from this author.

I also loved, at the end, before they get back together, she's on her own, but she's okay. She's learned how to be strong enough on her own without focusing on other people.

I'm going to be completely honest with y'all - I had a lot of fun with this one.

This was actually super cute and I absolutely loved it. Dom-Com is exactly what you think it is and what the title promises - a dom/sub romcom. Amazing banter and even better chemistry. While yes, they were very horny for each other, it never came across as too fast or too annoying. It was also a super fast read! Dived in and the next second I realized it had already hit chapter 30 and I was zooming through it. I actually had to force myself to stop so I could sleep because I kept doing the good ole' 'Just one more chapter'. Spoiler alert: It wasn't just one more chapter.

Rae and Grant are both equally fun on their own and even sexier together. The secondary characters were charming but there wasn't a heavy focus on them. Honestly, if you want a story that's strong on the romance aspect above all else then this is perfect. It felt like we were in that tiny bubble with Rae an Grant. While there was a bit of a heavier focus on the smut than plot at TIMES, it didn't overtake the whole book.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and netgalley for the arc!

I have mixed feelings about this book. While I enjoyed the overall idea the pacing was just very strange. The fact that this story happened within a span of 3 weeks is just absolutely wild. It just made the romance seem a little unbelievable. I wish we got more sense of them outside of work and got to see the relationship develop. It seemed like all lust and then you’re told that theyre in love.

It was wild to read about an HR director violating so many guidelines without even thinking about to for a second.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad book and I enjoyed aspects of it but I wish we got more from the relationship and the MMC’s character development.

Thank you to Forever for the gifted arc.

ARC review

This was really good. I really enjoyed the FMCs character development from people pleaser to doing things for herself. I really liked her character. I also liked how she wasn't pining over him too much and was secure in herself.

The MMC was hot stuff, and I did like him but I felt he could have used some more character development e.g. lightening up a bit or being less strictly controlled. This was shown a little bit with his relationship with the neighbourhood cat, but not quite enough for me.

The relationship was hot and sweet, they seemed good for each other and better for being together. The spicy scenes were very well written, albeit highly unrealistic - sex in an office chair with a muscular MMC and a curvy FMC seems like a recipe for disaster, and the whole thing seemed like an HR nightmare, but one has to suspend disbelief a little bit for these books!

Overall I would definitely recommend this book for someone looking for some BDSM but in a light-hearted and definitely romance centred story.

My new favorite Anders romance!

How does Anders do this? Lusty kink, funny-ass characters, a glowering BDE Dom’s Dom main male character, and plot/subplots that fit perfectly. Humor in kink is so rare.

And at the heart of the story, the kind of Dom/sub relationship that pushes all the YES buttons: an incredibly attentive, inventive Dom, a baby sub with joy in her soul who’s never far from a funny, telling comeback, and filthy but clear conversations about consent. Goddamn it’s good. Highly recommended.

Thank you to author Anders and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this pre-pub ARC.

I want to thank Netgalley for the arc.

Did this book have flaw ... of course I wanted to see more of them in the club and really enjoying themselves there. I did like how it show the rules and ropes of a safe BDSM scene. Grant did push a little but at no time did Rae seem to be in an unsafe place or like she couldn't stop what was happing.

I did really enjoyed this book it was exactly what I thought it would be. I enjoy the kinky probably more then I should have ;) I love how Rae became more confident though out the book. she learns to tell her co-worker no and really is happy with selling her little book nooks to the public. I love that Grant got to learn to love and commit not only to one place but also to a person.

I really hope there will be book two maybe see how Otty and Sam are doing now.

As someone who loves romance novels and erotica, especially when they explore BDSM, I was so excited to pick this title up! I do want to start off by saying that I love the title because of the play on words, but the cover is also just so fun. The cover could have been more overtly sexual, but I think the choice to just have the pink background with the handcuffs is clever because it leaves more to the imagination. It's one of those things where if you know, you know. If someone looked at the title "Dom-Com" and said, "What is that?", then they are in for a treat!

Overall, I had a fun time with this book, but parts of it fell short. I didn't really connect with Grant or Rae, which made it difficult at times to care about what was going on in their life apart from the romance. Honestly, my favorite character was Dorothy, and I strive to be like her when I am older! It was obvious from the first chapter or two that Rae and Grant have great romantic chemistry, especially with their likes and dislikes regarding kink. It felt like the classic grumpy/sunshine trope at times, with Grant helping Rae put her foot down more often and Rae helping Grant not to have a stick up his ass; however, that dynamic changes a bit when they were actually having sex. As per the title, Rae/Sunny is a submissive person looking for a Dom, and Grant/General takes that role after she visits the sex club he's at, and they immediately hit it off. When they play out a scene, he takes the lead and focuses on Rae's needs, as he calls himself a Pleasure Dom. That typical grumpy persona turns into a more demanding and stern persona as he leads the scene. Rae has a similar change, as she allows herself to give into pleasure, making her feel more bold sexually /become a brat as it goes on. Their dynamic was what kept me reading; however, it also made me want to throw my phone across the room.

What really bugged me, leading me to rate this book 3 stars, is that Grant breaks his own rules about separating kink and work. First off, once they realize that they know each other, Grant tries to say that Rae can't ever visit the club again. This was before the dom/sub relationship was agreed upon, so he had no true right to tell her that. Obviously, neither of them knew, so to have him immediately try to "fix" the problem with a one-sided solution didn't make any sense. On top of that, he references that he doesn't mix work and play, but their second scene together is when they are in the work kitchenette! What?! What happened to not mixing work and play?? What happened to the boundaries that you so-called set? I feel like I would have liked it more if they had another scene at the club before they started to have sex at their workplace! The rules that he made also left me frustrated because those rules would be put into place if they did establish a dom/sub relationship. Except they didn't!! I just didn't get why they could only do scenes at work or the club, and not at one of their houses? Anytime they did a scene at work, I got so much second-hand embarrassment because I was worried someone would walk in.

Overall, I had a fun and frustrating time reading this book. My favorite parts also go hand-in-hand with some of my least favorite parts, leading everything to just kind of equal out. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, but it was also the kinkiest of times ;) Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

DOM-COM is gonna wreck your panties from either the Dom, or the Com, or both. It's so seriously unserious with a Dom and baby (new) sub falling instantly in lust, with the challenge of working together... in a shared office ... surrounded by Muppets (metaphorically) for coworkers ... while trying to solve a data breach mystery ... and processing their personal traumas. All that to say, it's got the vibes of The Office and Secretary (Pleasure Dom's Version) and is absurdly delicious from start to finish.

Rae and Grant are like the only two humans in a Muppet movie. They are the rational parties while everything around them is chaos. Rae is the mother hen to her younger (adult) siblings and coworkers, often stretching herself thin leaving no time for her wants and needs. Grant is a fix-it businessman with a no-nonsense approach to relationships (professional and personal)–seeking control to maintain a sense of stability. Nothing in the universe has ever made more sense that they find relief in a Dom/sub relationship. Yes, they lust for each other, but equally so she needs the release and he needs grounding. Kink is their outlet and reward all in one.

And there's a mystery to solve! In the workplace. Meaning we get to spend lots of time in the office. Doing work. Or getting distracted from work. Definitely both. Storywise, the whodunit is plotted to keep attachment avoidant Grant in one place long enough to catch feelings for Rae. Emotionally, it provides a very punchable villain and a well earned victory for Grant and Rae. Also, I'm pretty proud of myself for guessing the whodunit correctly (a rare occurrence for me).

I highly recommend DOM-COM for readers looking for a good time. It's laugh out loud bonkers, and clench your thighs hella sexy. A romp with a heart of gold! Maybe get two copies cus you'll be cracking the spines from rereading the kinky chapters.

OMG I’m so happy to have received an early copy of Dom-Com from NetGalley! I’ve been a fan of Adriana for a long time and just knew this book was going to be good!!! She gave her newsletter followers little sneaks here and there. This book was so ridiculously good!!! It was sweet and adorable and sexy!!! Rae is a people pleaser and a doer, she gives and gives to everyone in her life. She’s recently single and decided to finally explore some of the k!nks she’s always wanted to. She nervously joins a k!nk club and enters as a Sub. Grant Bowman is a silent partner in the club and a Dom, even though he doesn’t do anything long term and isn’t looking for a Sub, he’s pretty caught off guard when Rae enters the room and he can’t keep his eyes off her. They ending up playing a little while he introduces her to the world and gives her some advice. After their night is over he really can’t stop thinking about her. On Monday when he goes to the new business he’s consulting at he’s surprised to find his new Sub is the head of HR and his new office mate. These two have the beeeest chemistry. Like it’s jumping off the pages! I love them so much!! I love how Rae is just herself and Grant is baffled and dazzled by her. His control constantly slipping. He has this innate need to care for her though and that’s so hot. The spice in this book is SO GOOD AND SEXY wheeeewwww 🥵🥵🥵🥵 There’s nothing but good things in this book. It’s hilarious and so sweet.

Dom-Com was a silly, goofy, fun time. Absolute CHAOS from start to finish, which was honestly not what I was expecting. Our FMC is an absolute chaos goblin, sunshiny, people pleasing sweetheart, and our MMC is grumpy, commitment-phobe. Yes, this is obviously a kink-centric book (did you read the title?), but it was a lot less freaky than I was expecting. I read a lot of smut (hence the handle @thank.thegods.for.smut), and I think if this is your first Dom/Sub read you will find it spicy! But if you're versed in the genre, this will read as trad-pub kink. Which was totally fine, because that's what it is!

Dom-Com has a lot to love:
💞Workplace Romance with Forced Proximity
💞HR Manager / Consultant
💞Grumpy / Sunshine (Sunshine meaning our FMC is 💞💞Penelope from Criminal Minds)
💞Regular Sized FMC (wahoooo!)
💞Pleasure Dom / Sub
💞Brat / Brat Tamer

While I had a good time, I wished our MMC and FMC didn't change their emotional directions so much. I felt a bit whiplashed. I also really struggled as a corporate baddie with out ridiculous this workplace and the sexy times in the office were. I would lose my mind at this company. 3.5 stars! Very good toe-dipper into BDSM.

I loved this book so much! It’s fun, cute, and packed with heart and humor. We follow Rae, who decides to check out a BDSM club to see if she likes being a sub. There, she meets a mysterious, handsome Dom who manages to turn her inside out with just a back massage, but he doesn’t do newbies or long-term commitment. Then, on Monday, she walks into the office to meet Grant, the new consultant her boss hired… and comes face-to-face with her mysterious Dom.

Rae is amazing, contradictions and all. We really see why she craves being a sub, she’s been taking care of everyone since high school and just wants to stop thinking, but that never makes her weak. Time and again, we see how strong she is and how unafraid she is to speak up. Especially with Grant, who keeps giving her mixed signals due to his commitment issues, she doesn’t hold back and tells him exactly how his behavior affects her.

I also loved all the quirky side characters, from Rae’s sisters to her coworkers. This book genuinely made me laugh out loud multiple times. I’m so crossing my fingers that this turns into a series so we can get more of these characters!

Thank you to Forever for the advance copy.

I really wanted to love this one, and there’s a lot that worked but also some things that didn’t. The premise is fun. A one-night stand who turns out to be your new coworker? Mhm. The dom/sub element added a nice twist, and the chemistry between Rae and Grant was there. (This is def a workplace romance more than anything else.)

I just couldn’t connect with Rae. Her personality and the writing style felt a little too chaotic for me. Some of Grant’s chapters were stronger.

The book started off great with solid consent and steamy scenes, but it lost focus later on and took away from their relationship. Also, we barely see them interact outside of work/home.

Overall, some good moments, but it felt a little disjointed and unfinished in the end.

Solid 3 ⭐️

Not what I expected, but it wasn't bad! I've never read a romance like this before, and in the future I think it's just not for me, but I still had a good time with it!

The chemistry between Rae and Grant is top notch. Even though it's definitely a *spicy* romance, there's substance behind it which I loved. Absolutely loved the side characters; Dorothy and Sam were definitely favorites of mine. It's a bit thicker of a romance, sitting just over 400 pages, but honestly I didn't even notice the extra length while I was reading. It was well paced, it didn't feel like there was any filler information or like it was rushed in any way!

You'll like this if you like:
📖 workplace romance
📖 secret relationship
📖 grumpy X sunshine
📖 dual POV

✨TW: this book contains cuss words and topics of sexual content, death of a parent, cancer, infidelity, and fraud.
🌶️: Innuendos and scenes throughout

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Dom-Com by Adriana Anders!

This book is a fun, fiery blend of office romance and BDSM tension that hits all the right notes for fans of Lana Ferguson and Tessa Bailey. The chemistry between Rae and Grant absolutely sizzles—what starts as a single-night fantasy quickly turns into a deliciously complicated workplace entanglement. Anders balances the kink with emotional depth and humor, making it easy to root for both characters as they navigate boundaries, professionalism, and undeniable attraction.

It’s steamy, yes, but also surprisingly heartfelt, with just enough awkwardness and vulnerability to make it feel real. I would’ve loved a bit more development toward the ending, but overall this is a fresh, sexy romcom that delivers both laughs and heat in equal measure.

I adored this book, I think it's the best one she's ever written. I really enjoyed watching the emotional growth that both characters achieved, Rae's caretaking of others, and her difficulty with saying "No" was so relatable. Grant and Rae's chemistry steamed off the pages, I hung on every word. Plus, I'm addicted to the way Adriana Anders writes her spicy scenes, they're always so well done. I could not put this book down, I blew through it in a couple of hours. The chemistry, relationship growth, humor, spice, and touch of suspense blended perfectly together. A+, chef's kiss, and Bravo!
