Twin Princes #1

The Prince's Twin Servant

Rate this book
Being a prince isn't what it seems.

Van

I thought Mother's death would mean freedom from my family. I was wrong. Now Asher, the crown prince and my twin brother, wants me to return to the castle. I find him terrified of his own shadow and his rooms a mess. Instead of taking my place as his brother and advisor, he's called me to be his servant.

Asher

I wanted to use my brother as a decoy, but the king consort thwarts my plan before I can put it into action. Now, both Van and I are trapped here, and we're running out of time. If we don't find a way to get rid of my father's consort before Father dies of wasting sickness, we'll die with him.

Book 1 in the Twin Princes trilogy, The Prince's Twin Servant ends on a cliffhanger (HFN).

Content Warnings: twincest, non-con, dub-con, blood, death, physical assault, child abuse, violence, torture.

I enjoyed this book. The premise was interesting, but it was a lot darker than I expected. One of the princes has suffered and endured years of abuse and now dragged his estranged twin brother into the thick of it. An evil king's consort, power imbalance, and physical, psychological, and emotional pain, danger, suspense, and intrigue.

The story was emotionally draining at times. And as much as I wanted to be angry at Asher for trying to put Van in his place to take the abuse in his stead, his fear and underlying hopelessness was hard not to empathize with. The initial sexual encounter was by Fitz's order/threat, but the subsequent one was Asher's willing actions, which felt a little out of nowhere considering them being apart for ten years and not having the best relationship. But the whole situation was so messed up that it didn't even feel that out of place.

This is the first book I've read by this author. Though this kind of thing is not what I usually read, I would continue the princes' story. I need to see Fitz's death at some point- because surely such a character can't be allowed to survive- and I want to see what kind of happiness these two can find by the end of this journey. 4 stars.

We have twins separated at a young age. Unspeakable things are done to Crown Prince Asher. He's to the point where he's ready/willing to offer his brother up for the abuse. His plans go awry from the beginning. Now he's still in the cycle of abuse and he's brought his brother Van into the mess. Their father isn't the man he used to be and the King Consort Fitz is completely evil. Those in the castle that truly want to help are either unable to or are killed for trying. There's also spies around that run to Fitz, so Asher has only one friend Sloane who he can trust.

This is only a part of a story and it felt somewhat disjointed to me. There's too much time spent with the incestuous relationships and abuse and not enough on the story or world and character backgrounds. There's so much sex and abuse that I started skipping those scenes, which is big chunks of the story. Too much is definitely a bad thing. Sorry to say that I'm not interested in how the story ends.🤷‍♀️

This was a fantastic and gripping historical story
Asher and Van are twin princes, heirs to the throne.
They were separated at a young age and Asher became the villain.
What Van had no way of knowing is the horrific abuse and trauma that Asher suffered from a young age and it continues to this day.
Asher sends for Van in hopes of being replaced and let go from his father and consort's disgusting clutches but that plan backfires.
Now Van is caught in their abusive trap as well.
Together they find the strength to endure and with the help of their dragons are able to escape.
They head to where they believe they'll be given sanctuary, but something doesn't sit quite right with them.
They're on their guard and I can't wait to continue this series, I'm absolutely hooked.

This book is difficult to review for me, I enjoyed the story, but both MCs suffer so much and are so abused here that I felt dirty at times reading their story.
I wanted to hate Asher for the way he treats Van, but very soon I learnt how his life has been and how hopeless he feels.
Some scenes are awful, I wanted to murder their father and his "lovely" consort, but in a dark world the only light Van and Asher find is in each other.
I have read many books by other pen names of the author and I really like their style, this story isn't an exception despite having so many dark and taboo themes.
If you like this kind of books I recommend you to read it.

Van and Asher story was thrilling with numerous twists and turns, danger, and adrenaline. It also had a couple of sensitive subjects, so it’s not for the faint-hearted.
It also had an emotional impact, as well as physical and psychological one, as the enemy is quite twisted and its objectives are very nefarious.
The characters escape from its clutches, but the new situation they are in is uncertain if its a good one or not.
It was exhilarating, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

This was a first time author for me but I definitely hope to read more! The world building was well thought out. The writing was fast paced with both past and present combing to create a in depth story. The characters were engaging with heros to chear for and a villian so vile, I was fully vested in waiting for his downfall.

And the steam was off the hook - erotica but with plot and excellent writing. Excellent book.

The Prince's Twin Servant is a pitch black MM c€st fantasy story. The book has a great, extremely gripping storyline. What the twins Asher and Van have to endure is almost unbearable. I highly recommend checking out the TWs! My personal highlight is Gertie! The cliffhanger is brutal and I desperately need the next part of this story as soon as possible!

This book is very thrilling, diabolical, and spicy.
The story is dark, the best twin MCs get abused. Each in their own despicable ways. Van and Asher have been through some darkness and the light at the end of the tunnel keeps looking dimmer and dimmer. Their father and his consort, people who should be safe, are anything but, literal monsters.
The only solace for the twins is with each other.

There is a cliff hanger so prepare to be left wanting

This book took me a little while to get into but I ended up liking it. I'm looking forward to reading the next one to see where it goes. Asher just wanted his pain to end. Evander thought he was a villian but turns out that not everything is what it appeared to be. Lots of side characters and dragons. It ends on a cliffhanger.

This was a pleasant surprise! I i enjoyed following Asher and Vans journey that had some dark moments but plenty of twists and turns. Even though twins being separated when young they have completely different upbringing and poor Asher suffered so much abuse. This continues and Van is also drawn in so they plan an escape which they achieve but have they made their life better! Can't wait for more to find out!.

This book was good. It was a lot more descriptive than I thought it was going to be, but that wasn't a bad thing.
The story was interesting and the inclusion of the dragons in this way was cool. I liked Asher and Van's mind linking ability.
I just wish it hadn't ended on a cliffhanger.

First, please mind the trigger warnings, this is not a fluffy story. This was a fantastic dark fantasy. The world building is wonderful and the characters are amazing. The story line drew me in and wouldn’t let go. I couldn’t put this down and I absolutely can’t wait for the next part.

This is extremely dark and extremely twisted.
I honestly almost gave up in the first half of the book because I was getting nauseated. It ends on a cliffhanger. What will happen to Van and Asher?.

The story is not quite finished since there's a cliffhanger ending.

This was all dark, very bleak, and with abuse and noncon everywhere. We do not yet see how twins Van and Asher can escape this situation yet. Hoping they have better options and happy ending by the next book, or however many books.
