I was hooked by this from the first few chapters and have absolutely devoured it, having moments where life got put on hold because I had to know what happened next! Really brilliantly conceived characters and such an exciting story … far fetched at times, but could also 100% be something that happened. Another Lucinda Reilly book I just adored.
This author has talent, for sure. Her prose is engaging and she delineates character well. I was sucked into this complex story with its mysteries and twists and *did* choose to finish it - despite my reservations. But there’s the rub. Too many mysteries and twists so I resorted ro skimming in parts. It was very very very far-fetched in terms of coincidences, and plot detail. Simon’s stunt near the end was a laughable stretch of what one agent could do. So I sort of enjoyed it and sort of also wanted to DNF it! I tnink I will try others by Lucinda Riley, though. With better plot direction I definitely think she could be really a good read.
This book really got me interested from page one! Great story that would make a brilliant Netflix film! A little far-fetched with some of the story lines I thought however a great read!
