I enjoyed this regency romance very much. It has scandal, redemption and of course romance. I enjoyed the characters and the situations they got into as the plot rolled along. An enjoyable Ave MacAdams tale that shouldn't be missed.
I enjoyed the steamy well-written story. Lady Edwina's brother, Nicholas, was in a lot of debt and had a serious drug problem. One of his creditors threatened Edwina and forced her to try to seduce Duke Lucien. Edwina's attempts failed but Lucian was intrigued and wanted to get to know Edwina better. When he realized the problems that her brother had, he decided to help but that help led to a marriage with Edwina to protect her. Lucien was secretive about his past and did not want to introduce Edwina to his close family. The story deals with the problems caused by drugs and bad financial decisions. It includes assault, attempted murder, poisoning, cruelty and lots of steam. However, love wins through and leads to a happy ending. An enjoyable read.
Addiction is a terrible thing it ruins lives and when there is no way out desperate measures are required . The characters in this story are truly enjoyable and breathtaking at times. What would she do to save her brother …try to seduce a duke ? He naivety is apparent along with her innocence but the duke offers to help her, So starts a love hate relationship and a marriage of convenience. A steamy and hot love story full of passion and need evolves that is most enjoyable to read . An enjoyable read as the whole of this series .
Lucien married Edwina to protect her and provide support for her brother. It was to be a marriage of convenience, but feelings soon altered that. Lucien was still battling feelings and resentment from his youth and needed to put them to rest to be free. This was a good read with appealing main characters. However, the uncle got off scott free for a terrible betrayal.
This was the last book in this series and just as wonderful a story as the others found in the series. Only sorry that there are no more books 📕 left to read. I would recommend this series of books to everyone who love 💕 romance because they won’t be disappointed. They have all the suspense, disappointments, hope and joy you will expect from a romance novel. Then most important to me is that they all ended in happily ever after.
Edwina has always tried to help her brother Nicholas but the problems they now face are monumental! As she tries to help another problem arises, Lucien, The Duke. As they navigate through society & her brother’s problems something else begins to happen- something one cannot explain & it grows!
When you are at your wits end dealing with a brother who is addicted by a drug and a man who decides to help. That is how the story goes, but it soon leads to misunderstandings, a marriage of convenience, and you will have to read it to find out what happens next
A tragic story of betrayal, attempted murder, addiction and rejection. Lucien, Duke is not close to any one but old friend Jasper, trust no one. Edwina has a brother, broken by war injury, is spiraling into oblivion, and she has to find him! Their story is a struggle but well worth reading! Loved the extended epilogue!
Love Lucien's and Edwina's story. Trust was almost impossible for him to give. She was determine to save.her love one. They come together with a mutual goal. However, they soon find themselves questioning everything they once believe to be true. Highly Recommend!!!
Lucien and Edwina both have flawed family but when they marry to stop a scandal they soon begin to have feelings for each other and learn to trust in one another and find love
What are you to do when your finances are almost gone because your brother has returned from war and is now hooked on laudanum? Lot of mystery and secrets in this story. However for for me, the graphic sex scenes detracted from story.
Wow! Edwina was the rock in this story. Her brother, her husband and all of the drama of family would not have cleared up without Edwina. Toughness and forgiveness were two things that were vital to the story.
A marriage of convenience to protect but who is it protecting? A love that builds that wasn’t meant to be with characters, good and bad, weaving the tale. Strong wills and weak ones as well add to this tale and give a bit of suspense to it.
