She was taken from us…again. And now she’s in the hands of that sadistic psycho. But thanks to our bond, we have abilities that surpass even the strongest of our kind. We’ll get her back. And when we do, those who have hurt her will pay. Along with anyone else who gets in our way....

Blood and Wrath is a paranormal romance and the second installment in the Blood and Ruin trilogy. The FMC will not have to choose between her five love interests, but this action-packed story contains violence, adult themes, bad-language, and content that some listeners may find upsetting.

Sadly this was basically the same as the first book tempo wise, the character development and plot interest. 𝐈𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬. Hers was to keep them out of Kings radar and not get caught until she could use the spell to escape, and theirs was to found Luna and get their mate out.
That's all, 𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧. It was so very repetitive and extremely annoying and while i hoped we would move forward in this sequel, i was wrong and fooled.
The same pattern of repetition in their inner monologs and dialogues was still ever-present here, just slightly modified and that frustrated the hell out of me. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. Yes we had more world building but the story didn't really reach all it's potential and i hated that. Especially when you give us basically 6 broken 𝐌𝐂'𝐬 with a past full of pain, torture and misery with zero emotional depth to them. We had so many moments that was supposed to be heartfelt and full of emotions but the words felt so detached i couldn't feel them.

]|I{•---------⋘⋙---------------•⪼⦕࿅⦖⪻•---------------⋘⋙---------•}I|[
Now the romance part of this 𝐑𝐇 was just- hmm i don't actually know, the smut yeah it was there it's actually the only positive here. I mean they all talked about how important they were to each other from the moment they met, and how much they love one another in all their inner monologs, but i didn't actually feel any of that chemistry or passion when they were in the others presence. It was just a very groundhog day situation with the "you are ours and we our yours" every two seconds of every pages.
Yeah you keep telling me, this is one hell of a strong mating bond that will defy the laws of nature, hell and heaven but i just don't see it. 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐇. 𝐈𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐭, 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐞. I'm more into show not tell kind of stories and this was not it. I'll still probably continue with this series, just to finish what i started but with much less hope.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape media for allowing me to listen to an early copy of this amazing audiobook!

I consider myself an audiobook connoisseur and let me tell you, when I see a full cast I have heart eyes even before starting 😍

Blood and Wrath is book 2 in the Blood and Ruin series and as expected here the story picks up a lot.
I loved to discover more about the boys background and finally have their point of views! Add this to the full cast of voice actors and you are in for a wild ride.

In this book also the spice increases a lot and I suggest it to all the fans of The Bonds that Tie series. The vibe is the same. Brooding boys wanting to protect a much more powerful and badass girl!

As far as why choose fantasy romances go this one is a nice one. I liked the magic system and the character development, even though it’s just book two so I expect the plot to improve even more going forward ♥️

3/5 Spice 🌶🌶🌶

This series has in her grasp and is not letting up since I first read it in November of last year. This is the second book in the series and Rumer has outdone herself.

I love how Kierra developed and learned more of her powers and stops taking shit from those trying to take advantage of her. So much growth, ya’ll are gonna die when you read it!

Her 5 alpha mates are back and delicious as ever. Rion is the quiet and observant basilisk with a very talented tongue. Jax is the smart ass shadow wolf who does whatever he can to not share his mate with the others. Luka (Jax twin) is our shattered shadow wolf fighting to keep control. I really loved his development in this book. Axel is my personal favorite, but ya girl is a sucker for a dragon, especially an elemental dragon. The things this man can do with his powers. 😮‍💨He’s so mean and broody, ugh, an alpha after my own heart. Kierra constantly calling him and dick and him loving it is everything to me! And last, but VERY least the alpha of all alphas Kai. A descendent of Cerberus himself is not to be messed with. Daddy Kai got a couple upgrades after bonding with his mate and he lets loose!

This book ends with you wanting more, but not crying over a cliffhanger and I have to say I’m so grateful for Rumer for doing that. Ha. I’m desperate for more but not sobbing on my kindle.

EVERYONE GO READ THIS!

I don’t know why each guy needs to make a speech one after the other about how much they love her, and then constantly repeat it throughout the book. We get it. We also get how bAdAsS you all are. So ToUgH 🥴

Surprisingly the second instalment of this series was nowhere near as stressful as the first, possibly because we had more POVs in this chapter that let us know the FMC had devoted mates who would not stop until they found her. Also, the once-breakable FMC becomes, for reasons unknown, very powerful in this installment.

I'm majorly confused about the territories in this book world. I thought the big bad "King" had control over New York and mainly Manhattan but in this story, it sounds more like the 5 Alpha's aka her Mates had been running that area this whole time. However, it's entirely possible that I misunderstood a great deal from Book 1 and that's why I'm so confused.

You know when the author starts introducing a bunch of new characters halfway through the series she plans on writing a spin-off series, and I'm pretty positive that this author either has or plans to write one. We've already been introduced to the 3 demon brothers and thier witch mate. Stop Planning for the next book and focus on this one please!

So far the story is just okay and I haven't decided yet if I will finish the series.

★2.5/5! ehhh wasn’t really a fan of this one, it felt so slow and repetitive. don’t even get me started on the men, they’re pissing me off so much at the moment ESPECIALLY Axel and Jax! how many times does one need to say ‘your mine’ ‘nobody can touch you but us’ like okay we get it. this is probably the first time in a book I wish it was only the FMC POV, the MMCs POV just bored me.

Kiarra - still love her, keeps fighting for her freedom and her men, she’s so strong and I can’t wait for her to get a happy ending and finally being able to live.

Get ready for a scorching ride in the second installment of this captivating paranormal romance series! While I initially didn't realize I was diving into book two, the seamless narration made it a breeze to immerse myself in the story. And let me tell you, if you're craving a spicy paranormal romance fix, this book is a good-to-read!

In this sequel, we witness significant growth in our protagonist Kiarra as she delves deeper into her powers and embraces her newfound abilities. The character and relationship development take center stage, offering readers a deeper understanding of the alphas' perspectives as they navigate their connection with Kiarra. Featuring a multiple point-of-view narration style, the decision to use a full cast for narration adds an extra layer to the storytelling, bringing the story to life with vivid emotion and intensity.

With so many different points of view, one might expect some confusion, but fear not! The audiobook brilliantly navigates this complexity, providing each character with a distinct voice, earning it huge points in my book. While the romance occasionally felt amateurish and the spicy scenes seemed oddly timed, the gripping plot and compelling characters kept me hooked till the end.

Despite these minor flaws, I'd give this audiobook a solid four-stars rating. The story and characters have carved a special place in my heart, and I'm eagerly anticipating the final installment of the series. So, if you're ready for a rollercoaster of emotions and a hefty dose of steamy romance, don't miss out on this electrifying sequel! 🎧💖

Special thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and the editorial team for giving me the opportunity to review the ARC in audiobook format and to you, my reader, for taking the time to read this honest personal book review.

I enjoyed this book much more than the first. Finally getting to learn more about the guys plus the spicy scenes...*chef's kiss."

"What if I wanted to burn the entire city down?" This was their home after all. " Then we'll help you light the fucking match."

Although I was starting to cringe everytime I read the word "delicious." It was repeated over and OVER again during the spicy scenes. I believe "core" was over used as well but it didn't drive me crazy like "delicious," *eye twitch.*

"His girth is bigger than the others making me feel deliciously full. As he grinds into me, each slight thrust strokes the fire inside me, soaring until my whole body is heated in delicious flames."

I also wish the book was longer because I want to know more about the world. Its seems like so much to fit in to only 354 pages. That was my big issue with the first book, it was such a big story that seemed incredibly condensed.

The group seems a little OP at the moment but I can't wait to see the battle with King and the underworld in the next book! Overall a fun read and I can't wait for book 3.

I had to pause reading after the first book and was impatiently awaiting until I could jump back into this world again.

Torturous, but beautiful continuation of Kiarra and her men's story. The angst that girl goes through! 😳 Got me in my feels. I enjoyed the world building and learning more about the guys, watching their individual personalities seep out and how their abilities were affected by the connection to their mate Kiarra. Talking of mate, the spice certainly was spicing. You'll need to bring a fire extinguisher when reading🧯🥵🔥❤️‍🔥

As I was nearing the end I thought it was going to be a brutal cliffhanger and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't. I appreciate that Rumer, thank you. I can't wait to sink my teeth into the final instalment. It's about time King paid for the lost years and pain he inflicted on Kiarra, never mind avenge her mother's death. I just know I'll be reading on the edge of my seat.

This book seemed to drag in the fist part when the family was trying to reunite. I'm hoping this is just one of the awkward transitional books, however. The story does progress. It was just frustrating to see them dither about their missing mate(s).

I love this series! Blood & Wrath is just as good if not better than Blood & Ruin because we finally have our six main characters together, and all the romance action finally gets real.
We start with Kiara still captured, and our five alphas are desperately searching for and trying to rescue her. Once there’s a reunion (how could there not be), they begin a mission to save the city from some new foes, all while enjoying their mates in a new, more profound way.
I never knew how much I loved reverse harem stories until Blood & Ruin, and I love the RH style just as much in Blood & Wrath. I CANNOT WAIT to listen to Blood & Reign!

Okay, my cons: The world-building is lacking. I am confused about how, in book one, they’re in a place called Cardinal Three, and now they’re in Manhattan, New York (presumably). Is it our Manhattan? Does the whole human world know of the supernatural existence? Or only some people? I need more information. I also want more background on the alphas. Who they are, how they became alphas, what that means, and their roles. I also want to know more about the underworld's role in this universe.

I love that we got more information about Kiara’s background! It broadened her character and made her more three-dimensional.
The Kiara narrator did another fantastic job. We have multiple points of view in this installment, so various narrators. One of the male narrators was not my favorite as he got pretty breathy, like he couldn’t catch his breath while talking. It got annoying, especially during an intimate scene he narrated—other than that, no complaints.

Another 5 ⭐️ STARS ⭐️ & 5 🌶️ SPICY 🌶️ !

Thank you, NetGalley, for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! Please gift me an ARC of Blood & Reign when it’s available! I can’t wait to learn what happens and read more spicy spice between our MCs.
Thank you, Rumer Hale, for this fantastic book and book series!

This is the second book of the reverse harem paranormal romance trilogy, Blood & Ruin. Tropes include second chance romance, reverse harem, a missing mate, fated mates, touch her and die and found family. See content warnings for spice and violence.

The Lovely: I loved the characters and their relationships, especially how the FMC’s relationship with each of the alphas was different. Each alpha helped her and met her needs in a different way. While there was some angst in the first half, I would say the second half was more about comfort and healing.

The Mundane: I didn’t love the underlying plot of book two nearly as much as book one and I felt like the tension just wasn’t there for most of the book. If anything, the first half was more hectic or frenzied than tense.

Rating: 3.5/5 Stars 3/5 Spicy flames

Recommendation: This series became a mood read for me this month (sorry TBR) and continues to be the easy to read break from epic fantasy. The “dream” sequences were some of my favorites, as were those where the alphas tried to comfort and care for the FMC. On to the third and final book!

I gotta be honest, I wish there was either more spice or more plot. I don't think the plot is prevalent enough on the story to feel high stakes and that would be fine it the spice was ramped up. I was hoping for multiple men at a time, at least more then what we got at the end lol. Her moment with luca at the end though was so amazingly sweet and the beast was so hot lmao. I might still give the last one a chance.

Since this is book two, I won't give much away. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first book. I think I prefer Kiarra's POV over any of the guys. When it's the guys POV it just feels like a dick measuring contest. The story is still keeping me entertained, though, so I can't wait for the last audiobook!

ARC REVIEW

I was absolutely ecstatic to be able to get this ARC and let me tell you I DEVOURED this book. This was everything I needed in a sequel and more!

It picks up where the first books ends after Kiarra is taken by King. What I loved the most was that we get multiple POVs from the guys along with Kiarra. So not only are we seeing how Kiarra is doing being back with King while thinking her mates are dead, but we get to see the thoughts of each of the guys as they deal with trying to find her. I absolutely loved it!

The spice!! 🥵🥵. Holy hell. It is amped up in this book and leaves you with zero doubt why these men are alphas. I still can’t pick a favorite but I’m really leaning towards my twins. Jax and Luka just have something extra ❤️.

If y’all haven’t read Blood and Ruin get that right now and then grab this book as soon as March 31st hits! I’m already ready for book 3!

wait what?!?

How is it over already??? No!!!!!!
Ok so this started off a little choppy. I think it would have benefited from a little recap action and some context for what was going on. There are a few things plot wise that nagged and are still nagging at me but nothing that effected my ability to push it away and enjoy the hell out of this book. I am one happy bih about the heat in this one, I mean holy cheese biscuits the kitchen scene with Axel!!! I’m gonna need Rion to get a little more time and attention in the next one and Kai to. I would have loved a little more…love and tenderness for working Luka through his stuff, but sexual healing works to. While I think there are a few little things here and there that would have made this book phenomenal, overall I loved it, and I’m probably headed back to book one soon just because!

While the first book blew me off my feet, this one moved a little slow.

What to expect:
∘ NA/Adult Urban-Fantasy Romance
∘ Reverse Harem ― size: medium (5)
∘ Alphaholes, powerful MMCs
∘ Strong FMC with a tortured past
∘ Intriguing worldbuilding
Tropes:
∘ Childhood bestfriends to Lovers
∘ Missing Mate
∘ Fated Mates
∘ Second chance
∘ Found Family
∘ Touch her & die
∘ "Would burn the world down for her" vibes

Trigger Warnings: kidnapping, torture, murder, physical and mental abuse, death of a parent, sexual assault, blood, violence & gore, child abuse

Plot
Kiarra is in the hands of her abuser again and her mates are determined to do everything in their power to find her and get her back. Whoever dares to stay in their way will be swiftly dealt with-they have no mercy when it comes to the safety of their mate.

I devoured the first half of the book, but when they were finally reunited, things slowed down a little plot-wise. The sexual tension was all over the place, and I personally would've preferred a slower approach on this particular aspect.
Focusing more on the relationship between the characters, mostly the intimate one, was not something I was expecting so soon after the events that recently took place.
I was a little sad that the worldbuilding seemed to take a backseat in the second half of the book, because I was dying to learn more about the world.

Characters
Kiarra does not lose hope, her strength or determination, and my admiration for her only grew! Not only does she possess a powerful ability, but it's also progressing and it's becoming more apparent that she's way different than any other being we've encountered so far.

It's clear her bestfriends-turned-lovers care for her a lot, and they'd do literally anything for her. They'd burn the world down for her, or help her do it herself if she so wished.
I loved them for their commitment, even though they still have some issues to work through. They are not perfect; they made mistakes, but they are trying and that's more important to me.
They are definitely morally grey, and would not shy away from being the villains for Kiarra if the situation calls for it.

Romance
As mentioned above, the romance part of the story has a significant development here. I didn't mind it, but some scenes seemed kind of rushed to me.

Conclusion
I still this this series is underrated. Considering that I haven't seen it anywhere on Insta/TikTok, I would say it isn't very popular. I think it definitely deserves to be discovered by more people.

K so I’m in kind of a bad mood and I’ve decided that I don’t feel like giving this a high rating just coz it had a good vibe I’m gonna do a full on like real review of this so sorry lol.

So I understand that this is not a book that's going to transform lives or will fundamentally add anything to society and that’s fine. But it still should contain and engaging story because people are still buying this book and expect a professional level of quality. This book takes what seems to be the troupes or the moment and clumsily mashes them together to creat yet another contrived and derivative story that is just another regurgitation of seemingly every romance book available at the moment.

Again, I understand that this book is just another romance book but it simply lacks any semblance of an altogether cohesive book. The main way this is shown is through the complete lack of any depth or development in any character; the antagonist is bad because he was mean to the protagonist and isn’t even at all relevant in this book because that would simply make this story more complex. The love interests show no difference at all in any meaningful categories and are simply faceless beings for the protagonist to fuck and be protected by. And at last in this mini review I am absolutely flawed by the plot - whilst this is the typical second book in a fantasy romance trilogy where the protagonist is taken away from the love interests and now they have to go and find her. I am bamboozled be a complete lack of nuance or subtly in the writing at all. It’s a common plot that is hardly ever done badly yet I was bored the entire time and didn’t really care at all when they were finally reunited. Then comes the second general plot point where we awaken the protagonists hidden powers and turns out that they are indeed the most powerful (insert fantasy species name here) to ever walk (fantasy planet’s name). This again was rushed and felt arduous to uncover.

All in all I’m a sucker for a derivative book with the same plot. I understand that this is what this book is. However I also feel like if someone is paying money from a professional author for content that this content needs to be up to a certain standard and executed to a professional degree. Not being rude but literally anyone who has read a basic fantasy RH could have written this book and even then there’s a chance that they would have done better.

.I feel like this book could be a little confusing with 6 different POV, but the audiobook HELPS a lot because every character has a different voice. Which give this audiobook HUGE points.
.The narrators did a good job bringing this story alive.
.The romance felt a little amateur sometimes. It didn't feel that way in the first book, but in this one, it did, unfortunately.
.The spicy talk happened at some of the most randomly time, or when they're in danger, they wanna have spicy time. Like, I guess we are not going to worry about her being in danger as long as they can get some. Lol
.I will continue with the last and final book of the series because I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED ! AND HOPE THEY KICK KING BUTT.

Blood and Wrath is book two in a paranormal romance series by Rumer Hale. Thank you to NetGalley, Rumer Hale, and Dreamscape Media for providing me with an audio ARC in exchange for my fair and unbiased review!

What I loved:
- The narrators were absolutely wonderful!
- More insight into each of the guys' past
- More nuanced enemy development compared to book one
- The spice was spicing!

What I didn't love:
- The plot felt very flat to me, not a lot happened besides breaking her out and a lot of sex
- The guys' possessive alphahole behavior got old very fast
- The pacing didn't make sense to me
- Idk I feel like something was missing, like a plot twist or something

Overall, Blood and Wrath was entertaining, but I hope the plot picks up in book three! I am rating this title three out of five stars. You’ll love this if you enjoyed The Bonds that Tie!

FOUND THE SPICE YA’LL.

Mhm loved it. There was spice, character development, romance, plot reveals, protectiveness, KNOTTING.

This series so far is just what I needed and I am obsessed.

All these men are top tier and I am having so much fun reading this one.

The plot slowed down a little in this one to make room for the amount of boinking that was going down but im not even remotely mad about it. Still kept me interested the whole time and still was invested in everything going on.

Spice was FANTASTIC. Wheeeeww! Cant wait for that first group scene to happen tho… THIRD BOOK IS GUNNA DELIVER. It has to.

Overall super loving this series and pulled me outta my slump ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ cant ask for more!

The romance really amped up in this second installment and I am here for it! There's still angst between Kierra and the guys for various reasons, but they're seeing how capable she is as she comes into her abilities.

I do think the worldbuilding could be better and I struggle to keep track of who's who with the guys and what their supernatural capabilities are. To me, they aren't different enough and need more depth to really become their own people.

I love that the audiobook has narrators for each character! More of this please.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the copy.

Took me a while to get back into it. The main storyline has so much potential but it fell a bit flat for me tbh.

It sort of gave me j Bree broken bonds & psycho shifters vibes (I love both of these).

This book has a few smutty scenes but I couldn’t help but think they were always at the most inappropriate times😅. Depressed/self loathing? Have a wnkkkk once finishing go back to self loathing😂. Just been kidnapped& unalived multiple times? Go to your subconscious and get felt up by your mate instead of coming up with an escape plan. Each to their own I just thought the timing could’ve been better 🤣

I’m hoping book 3 has more plot
