An indie author who writes romantic suspense—a mix of clean, wholesome yet dark romances.

I’m not here just to sell books. I’m here to connect with the part of me that loves to write and express through words.

Creating fictional worlds of my own, on my own—writing, editing words, making covers, everything by myself. I'm juggling between studies and books, trying to maintain a balance, sometimes stumbling but not stopping.

So, here I am writing for people who want to be heard, who think they are alone but they aren’t. For people who want to break free from the chains of their past, for those who want to embrace their present, and for those who want to not panic about the future and live in the moment.

First, thank you so much to the author Yasha Ali for giving me a free copy of the book! It was really sweet of her <3

Okay. Wow. This was actually a really good book! This novel takes place in the small town of Floralivia, and I thought that the city was so cute and cozy; the perfect setting for the story. Childhood friends to enemies to lovers??? Yasha Ali, you have me SAT. I was so excited to read this since I love dark romance, and I was excited to read a smut free dark rom for once. I've never heard of the genre romantic suspense, but if this book is any indication of the genre, I know I'm going to love it. Going into this book, I was delighted to read that Hazel ran a perfume company. Most books I've read, mainly only the mmc has a large scale business, and I'm glad that Hazel, the girlboss she is, is running a large company at only the age of 22. However, regarding the age of the characters, I was a bit confused. I felt like some of the characters did not act their canon age, and in my head, Hazel felt 18 or 19 at times. Nevertheless I still really enjoyed this novel. The romance between Hazel and Tristan??? In one word, YES. Oh my god, the amount of devotion Tristan has toward Hazel, like if only men were like that in real life. The tension between them was delicious, and Tristan really had to grovel and work (as he should) for her forgiveness for breaking her heart all those years ago.

The dark family drama in this was perfect. For those reading this for a fluffy romance...you're going to get betrayal, dark twists, and tons of family drama. The suspense in this book was top notch, like I was NOT expecting any of those plot twists. (The suspense comes a little later in the book though) The power plays in this wealthy family are totally mind bending and I loved that the Ravenwood and Carrington come together and heal despite all the trauma and betrayals. I think that readers who want to read dark romance without smut will enjoy this book!

𐔌🪻 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
•⸝⸝ Daisy has got to be one of my favorite characters, she was just so cute and sweet!
•⸝⸝ I liked how the author described the dresses Hazel was wearing; I know this is really random but I actually fell in love with Hazel's wardrobe
•⸝⸝ I liked how the book incorporated information to lead up to the next novel in the series
•⸝⸝ The part where Daisy was infatuated with Marcus felt a little...off for me since she's 15 and he's 28
•⸝⸝ I really liked Hazel and she was sweet and strong and a great fmc!

𐔌🪻 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬:
𐔌⌗ Like I mentioned above, the canonical age of the characters did not always match up with their speech and behavior.
𐔌⌗ There were a few syntax and grammar errors here and there that disrupted my reading flow, but it's understandable as it is the author's first book.
𐔌⌗ The pacing was a little strange at certain chapters but overall it didn't have a large detrimental impact to the storyline.
𐔌⌗ Some of the dialogue felt robotic and occasionally childish, especially when one of the adult characters said "hehe".
𐔌⌗ I wish that Tristan had a little more character development

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭:
⤷ Dark romance without smut
⤷ Suspenseful plot twists you won't see coming
⤷ Layers of emotional, dark family drama
⤷ Intense, but still sweet romance
⤷ Family secrets, pain, and betrayal at every turn

Overall, I would recommend this book, and it was a really gripping and enjoyable read!

DNF @ 25%

I’m really sorry to DNF this, considering the author gave this to me for free (she’s the sweetest person seriously) but I sadly just couldn’t finish this book.
There was an abundance of grammatical errors, such as comma overuse, run-on sentences, incorrect punctuation, irregular paragraph spacing (I don’t really know how to explain that one), and a few others. They were almost every sentence, so it made it really hard for me to get through.
Additionally, I wasn’t ready for the somewhat dark romance aspect (that’s on me though). I’ve never been a fan of that kind of romance (like possessiveness, borderline stalking, etc.) but that’s a personal opinion of mine, so don’t read into that too much.
Finally, the dialogue felt clunky and unrealistic. Characters would pause at inconvenient moments, repeat themselves multiple times, say things that aren’t usually actually said (like hehehe, which normally would be described as giggling or laughing), and just generally, the dialogue felt younger than the characters were.
HOWEVER!!!! Please don’t think this book was all bad. The setting, a fictional city by the name of Floralivia, was cute and cozy, and fit the story well. I also think the plot had potential (again, I prefer no dark romance but that’s purely an opinion); it was well thought out and pretty original, and felt really tied together (and I also really liked how it referenced the author’s upcoming book, In Case You Break Free, pretty early; well, rather, it introduces its characters and their potential romance, which is nice foreshadowing for the next book in an interconnected standalone series).
Overall, I think this book and this author have a lot of potential; if the grammar and dialogue could get fixed, this, and future books by Yasha Ali, can be so good.

Again, thank you to author Yasha Ali for giving me the opportunity to read this book for free, I really appreciate it <3

“They say family is everything… but what if family is where the betrayal begins?”

Okay, wow — this one surprised me.

I came for the best-friends-to-enemies-to-lovers tension (my weakness) and stayed for the dark family drama, betrayal, and emotional unraveling. This isn’t your average fluffy romance — it’s layered with pain, secrets, and that slow, aching kind of longing that hits you right in the chest.

The main characters are beautifully broken. Their relationship is messy, bitter, full of unresolved anger and deep-down love that refuses to die. Watching them go from innocent childhood connection to cold resentment, and then to something raw and redemptive? Whew. My heart.

Also: the suspense?? 👀 The family plot twists actually had me pausing and whispering “wait, WHAT?” out loud. Loved that it wasn’t just romance, but a deeper look into trust, grief, and what happens when the people you love the most destroy you.

Why not 5 stars?
There were a few pacing dips, and occasionally the dialogue leaned a bit dramatic, but honestly? It fit the mood. This story wanted to be emotionally intense, and it fully leaned into it.

“How often do we find a love that is made just for us, a person who looks at us like we are their entire world? It’s difficult to find, but not impossible.”

My first thought when I saw this book was how stunning the cover is! It really stands out with the gorgeous design.

When I first started reading this book, I wasn’t sure how the story was going to develop. As this was my first time reading a book from this author, I wasn’t used to the writing style, but as the book went on, the more I understood the flow better and started to connect more with the story.

The unexpected plot twists and the background stories of Tristan and Hazel were my favourite parts of this book, they were AMAZING and added so much depth to the story. I also loved the friendship between Daisy, Evelyn and Hazel- they have a really heartwarming and loving bond.

What also stood out to me in this book was the town Floralivia and the community surrounding it, with its warm atmosphere and residents who are like family. This made the town feel alive and welcoming, and I really felt like I was experiencing it myself.

Why not 5 stars?
The story felt a bit fast paced at times, and some of the dialogue came across as a little intense but the plot overall was engaging and the ending finished in a wholesome way.

Overall, I enjoyed the journey and I can’t wait to see what the author writes next. Thank you!

Reading In Case You Say Yes by Yasha Ali reminded me of the song "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls, at least for me! Both gave me that feeling of intense and vulnerable love where the connection matters more than anything.
The story follows Tristan and Hazel through love, betrayal and second chances.
I also really liked the bond between Hazel and her best friend Eve! The plot was interesting even though it was a little fast paced and dramatic at times.
If you like second chances and friends to lovers then this book is for you!

𝐈𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐒𝐚𝐲 𝐘𝐞𝐬 – 𝐘𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐀𝐥𝐢
★ 2.75 → 3 / 5 ★

first off — the biggest thank you to Yasha Ali for gifting me her debut novel and letting me dive into her story world early ♡ it was such an honor to talk with you, to see your heart through your characters, and to experience your words up close. thank you, truly.

★ spoilers ahead xx ★

summary
Hazel Ravenwood’s life takes a turn when she crosses paths with Tristan — the powerful, possessive mafia boss who turns her world into something both dangerous and tender. Between love, fear, and loyalty, Hazel learns to find her own voice amidst the chaos. Surrounded by her sister Daisy, her best friend Evelyn, and the shadows of Tristan’s world, Hazel must decide what kind of love is worth the risk.

characters
Hazel – sweet, insecure, and quietly strong. her growth was subtle but real.
Tristan – protective to a fault. sometimes overbearing, sometimes heartbreakingly gentle.
Evelyn – loyal, layered, and a little chaotic. her story feels like it’s only beginning.
Jaxon – mystery wrapped in loyalty; i’m not done with him yet.
Daisy – sunshine in the middle of storm clouds. please, please let her get her own book (especially with Marcus).
Marcus – my favorite. dark, patient, and beautifully complicated.

none of these characters were perfect — and that’s what made them feel human. each one flawed, soft, scarred.

favorite lines

“What did we girls truly want? It wasn’t diamond necklaces, gold or money. We want to be treated with respect, care, love and attention.”

“I just… I wanted to get lost in someone’s eyes—just once, like I get lost in these books.”

“But the moment our eyes met, everything else faded. I fell in love with her all over again.”

these lines carried the heartbeat of the book — quiet longing, desperate love, and the ache of wanting to be seen.

thoughts
this story felt fast. scenes moved quickly, sometimes too quickly for the emotional weight they carried — but when it slowed down near the end, it clicked. the last few chapters were cinematic, passionate, and beautifully tied together.

if disney channel ever made mafia stories (wild thought, i know), this would fit: romantic, dramatic, a little dangerous, and full of heart. it was almost written as if it was just for the next scene—like a tv show maybe?

i’m so so proud of you Yasha Ali for taking a step and being your own editor, writer, publisher, etc. there were a few grammar issues and run-on sentences, but never too much to where i didn’t know what i was reading and affected how it was portrayed.

the romance itself felt a touch rushed, but the chemistry was undeniable. Hazel and Tristan fit — they just needed a bit more space to breathe.

overall
sweet. suspenseful. imperfect in all the right ways. this debut shines with potential and heart, and i can’t wait to see what Yasha writes next.

thank you again for letting me read your story — it means the world. <3

tldr;
imperfect but heartfelt. quick pacing, deep emotion, and characters that linger longer than expected.

1⭐️ before I make this review, I just want to thank yasha ali for giving me a free review copy, and I think it's really amazing how she made a book!

But I think it's safe to say that I found little to appreciate in this book. First of all i want to talk about the dialogue, it felt very unnatural, and some sentences didn't make sense there were also a few gramatical issues, and why are the characters always stuttering for no reason

"Wait... H-Hazel," Tristan called out his voice deep and strong"

how is it strong if he's stuttering?

The scenes in the past were written as if he was referring to it in the present like "I was just 7, but those fights were embedded in my nerves."

Hazel - i got second-hand embarrassment every time this woman opened her mouth.

“You are such a pookie,” she said and I snapped out of my thoughts.
My eyes widened. “A...what?”
“A pookie means sweetie.”
“Oh, that’s a cute word.”
“Yes, you’re cute, so, you’ll be my pookie, I’ll call you pookie.”

Mind you this women is 22 years old....I also found it kind of petty how hazel 'hates' tristen just bc he rejected her even though he apologised multiple times and took care of her for a month straight when her parents died(I don't like Tristan either).

Tristan- really toxic and possessive a little creepy aswell ( i found it a bit concerning how everyone in Hazel's town knew Tristan was stalking her and didn't report it?) and he gets really mad at hazel if a guy literally just talks to her? and he's abusive at times.

He grabbed my wrists and pinned me to the nearest wall, his grip was tight & painful. “You’ll not meet him again, is that clear?” he growled.
“S-stop this, you’re hurting me.”
“Enough!” He screamed.
Releasing my wrist, he punched the wall beside me, making me flinch in fear. I had never seen him this consumed by rage before.
“Tristan, please—”
“You. Are. Not. Going. Anywhere!” He said, his voice low and dangerous.

For context, a guy came up to Hazel and asked her out, and she said NO... when she came home, she told tristen about it and that was his reaction...

Tristan & Hazel - lowkey got the ick from them. They are so cringey I had to take a pause while reading some of their quotes

“Alright, alright, chill, Mr. Carrington, no violence.”
He smirked. “Call me your baby and I’ll calm down.”
I chuckled. “You are such a baby, okay, okay, my baby, my sweet baby, calm down, I’m yours, only yours.”

Another example...

“I’m yours, only yours, but you won’t hide anything from me, okay?”
“Well, I can’t promise, you cry like a little baby, my baby.”
“Shut up and promise me!” I yelled cutely

Hazel yelling cutely was what sent me out.

Why was Daisy speaking like she was 5 years old when in reality she's 15 and I find it a bit odd that she kept saying "hehe" like uhm alright..

“Sissy, I got full marks in Maths. Hehe, all thanks to you!”

Also, why was Hazel speaking to her like she was a toddler?

“Awww, it’s okay, how about we do it together, but first we need to clean this mess together, princess.”
She smiled and jumped in excitement. “Yay.”

Like, sorry, but 15 year olds do not speak or act like that. I was also very concerned about how she had a crush on a 28 year old like...

In short, the story had potential, but the cringey diolage and toxic relationship completely ruined it for me.

I am going to say this book has a lot of grammatical errors but that didn’t stop me from reading it. I ate the characters up and was wanting more each time i read. I did enjoy the progression of their relationship. Good job Yasha!!

I won’t add dates because I do that with only physical copies(it’s a long story but that’s not important)
My honest opinion? The idea was good and simple, a dark romance with no smut? Oh god yes please. But this is the author’s first novel and it’s obvious(no offence) there were many typos and grammar mistakes, idk if this book has been in hands of an editor but it would make the entire reading experience sooo much better. Sometimes the conversations felt robotic, that’s something that will also change with time and practice. The characters(except for Hazel) were just simple and I didn’t really feel much connection to them. The vibes were the best thing about this book, so cozy and sweet(weird for a dark romance but somehow it just worked out yk?). Final rating? Three stars, it was good and next time, it’ll get better.;)

Thank you Yasha for giving me this book for free 💗

Tristian was down so bad for her 😩

He…
* supports her business,
* takes care of her,
* crafts her a diamond ring,
* and blushes!

His anger issues were rly disturbing, but he later on worked on it.

The plot was really intriguing, and the plot twist was so unexpected.

The only thing that bothered me was that in some chapters a lot of things were going on at the same time.

But all in all, it's a great book with a lovely author 🫶🏼

In Case You Say Yes is a magnetic blend of romantic tension and simmering suspense, crafted with a precision that keeps you breathless yet craving more. Yasha Ali delivers a story that feels both intimate and vast, built on emotions so sharp they almost cut.

Tristan Carrington and Hazel Ravenwood are the kind of characters who stay with you long after the final page — he, a billionaire wrapped in shadows and a past that claws at him; she, a strong, independent force of quiet resilience. Their journey, marked by the electrifying tropes of best friends to enemies to lovers, he fell first, revenge, and even a chilling stalker angle, unfolds with a slow-burn intensity that feels deliciously dangerous.

The tension between them is palpable, layered with longing, regret, and the kind of unspoken history that tightens your chest. Ali masterfully plays with the central question: What happens when the people meant to protect you become the ones you must fear? — never revealing too much, but always pulling you deeper.

It’s a story drenched in emotion, mystery, and yearning — beautifully written, perfectly paced, and utterly unforgettable. A must-read for romantic suspense lovers.

Yasha Ali’s In Case You Say Yes is a captivating journey into the complex dynamics of power, betrayal, and obsession, making it a must-read for fans of high-stakes romantic suspense.

The novel centers on the intense connection between Tristan Carrington and Hazel Ravenwood. Tristan embodies wealth and darkness, driven by a past he can't escape. Hazel, fiercely independent and kind, is everything he finds himself obsessively drawn to. The book masterfully executes the demanding "friends-to-enemies-to-lovers" trope, establishing a foundation of genuine trust only to shatter it through a devastating misjudgment rooted in Tristan's troubled history.

The core of the story lies in the haunting question: what happens when the people who are supposed to protect you are the ones you need saving from? Tristan’s dark past is intrinsically linked to his family's secrets, secrets that refuse to stay buried. When desire and revenge collide, Tristan’s arrogance gives way to a desperate attempt to mend a broken bond.

Ali skillfully weaves together passion and danger. The narrative is taut with suspense, filled with genuine twists and moral quandaries that will keep you guessing. While the book explicitly avoids "spice," it powerfully explores darker themes related to vengeance, manipulation, and the consequences of inherited trauma.

Ultimately, In Case You Say Yes is about two strong individuals fighting to break free from the chains of the past. Will their love be enough to overcome the deep-seated betrayal and danger threatening to consume them? Find out in this gripping page-turner that you won't be able to put down.

Hi, so to start the review, thank you, Yasha Ali, for the opportunity to read In Case You Say Yes. It was a very interesting read. Now, to avoid an essay of words, let's begin with the review.
--
While the romantic plot isn’t one I personally enjoy, perhaps if the main genre stayed as mystery or even thriller while following closer on both the MC's parents deaths and then introduced a romance with a trope like enemies-to-reluctant allies, I think I would have engaged with or followed the story a little more. I mean, the plot has the potential to be awesome by changing the perspective of the genre, but still, it was an interesting style of writing romance.

I did like the background of the MCs, how it explains their way of talking or their actions by their past or childhood traumas; it simply made sense to have that part of the story explained.
--
Also, from the FMCs, I liked that she was her own boss. I would have liked to know a little bit more about the company; it would have been interesting and helped the character to give her a depth besides the romantic past, showing us (the readers) her motivations, goals, and how the plot is going to interact with her as a character.
--
Also, I'm really sorry about this, but I don’t like the conduct shown by the MC in this book; it teaches actions and reactions that are not right in the "romantic" context. I get the trauma and anger, but I don’t agree with the aggressive character for a romance novel.
--
Now, I did not expect the ending (or the last third of the book). Like, wow, I was shocked, but I think that made the last chapters a great way to finish the plot. I do think this would make a great TV series, the way it's written, like the flashbacks and the description of each chapter. I imagined it as a series on Netflix.

Final Thoughts and rating

My final rating: 2.8

Goodreads rating: 3

So I wanna say thank you to the author who had reached out to me to read her book and I did. I think my one mistake was getting this book and expecting to like it when I knew damn well I didn’t like enemies to lovers, stalking and stuff like that(not the author’s fault). This book is just fine. Not specular writing but fine. I obviously didn’t like the whole abusive stuff in it(again, it’s my fault). To be honest, Hazel is a Mary Sue and she might be my first Mary Sue. She’s very bland as a character. And Tristan. How can anyone like him? He assaults Hazel and almost everyone around him. And she forgives him?! I-. I’m not here to shame anyone but generally how can anyone find abuse like this attractive?! Overall the book is fine if you aren’t someone who overly critiques every detail in writing and character design. I will be reading the second book though since I was gifted that copy as well in the future.

sorry this took me so long

yasha this was so good! i really enjoyed the layers of family. it was so cool to learn the depths of each family and the CRAZY plot twists that left my jaw on the floor. ALSO the last plot twist!?!? that was wild. personally, i think the last quarter of the book was my favourite. there was so much suspense but the plot kept going. the only things i didn’t like (completely personal) is how fast pace the beginning was. i always like a longer slow burn. that’s just personal :) some parts i found there to be too much dialogue and it didn’t feel like i was getting a dual POV. the dual POV in the last half was absolutely perfect

thank you for giving me the opportunity to read your new book ‘In case you say yes’ for an honest review. can’t wait to read the rest of the series 💗💗

3/5⭐️
I received a free copy of this book and would like to thank the author it.
As a reader who's not typically drawn to dark romance, I knew what to expect, but I am having mixed emotions right now about this book.

The story revolves around Hazel and Tristan's complicated relationship with themselves and their family members.
The first 15 chapters felt like a slog, with repetitive plot points and slow pacing. I found myself wondering when the story would pick up. And pick up it did! The remaining chapters were engaging, but the abrupt introduction of new characters and their connections with the main characters were jarring. I personally think it disrupts the plot unless the books is developed into a series (which I hope it is).

The plot involving Tristan and Hazel's drifting apart over "something" felt unrealistic, atleast for me, especially the claim that Hazel wouldn't forgive him for years. But other than that, she's a boss lady who put people in their places.
Now, Tristan is the typical dark romance MMC who embodied traits like obsession, borderline stalking, overstepping boundaries as well as causing emotional and (mild)physical harm to Hazel which is why I don't think I liked him very much. (Like I already mentioned dark romance is not my cup of tea so yeahhh)

I didn't feel much of a connection with the rest of the characters but there's one character I am really concerned about. Daisy. girl we need to talk. like right now.

Despite these issues, something about the story kept me invested and I also found some enjoyable moments within the book. With some refinement in character development and writing, this story could have been more compelling.

Just finished the book and it was intense. The way it dives into the lies, secrets, and power plays within wealthy families is gripping. I loved seeing the family, despite all the betrayals, come together to face a common enemy and rebuild their lives. It’s suspenseful, emotional, and keeps you hooked till the last page. Highly recommend it.

#Review: *In Case You Say Yes* - Yasha Ali [18+]
2.5/5✨
DNF
[unable to rate the spice level since I haven't read the entire book]

I wanna thank Yasha Ali for offering me the opportunity to read her book. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish it, not being something that worked for me.🫤

I truly couldn't connect the way I wanted to the story because of the way it was written. There were pretty many, irrelevant details of which I'm not a big fan of. I understand that they are essential in stories but this time I felt a bit overwhelmed by them, being hard to keep up with everything in this book. Some scenes were irrelevant and were also full of details, everything happening in a pretty fast pace which disconnected me entirely from the plot.
The character lines where often repetitive or cringe. Even though this story had a dual point of view, the part where all the story was also written from the other character pov was a bit too much, like reading again some things that have already been described, which was a bit too much for me.

As for the characters, I felt like Hazel was really childish for her age and never sure about her feelings. Tristan was completely her opposite, being too protective and super obsessed, almost in a crazy way. He stalked Hazel, being also a bit too agresive when he was jealous and that gave me some creepy feelings about him, which I didn't like.

The whole plot had potential but the way it's right now, it's pretty hard to get until the end because of all those things which triggered me while reading the first half of this book. I couldn't continue farther than that. I'm never looking to overly criticize authors about their books, knowing how much work is behind one, but I hope that all I've mentioned is gonna be a way of knowing what to do better when it comes to the next books.

First off, I want to thank the lovely and incredibly generous author, Yasha Ali, for not only giving this book for free, but also the second one! I apologize that it took me so long to finish the book and then release the actual review, but here it is! Before I get into the actual review though, keep in mind that Yasha Ali is working on fixing grammatical errors and the format of the final version, so my review might be a little outdated by the time you’re reading this.

→ “why one star?”

I genuinely think that this book has a lot of potential and I was pretty hooked at the beginning of the story. One of the main things I loved was that this book had multiple perspectives + the chapters weren’t too long. Though there were a lot of things throughout the book that made it hard for me to finish. The dialogue in the book was a bit excessive, especially whenever Tristain starts speaking, the plot didn’t really get exciting for me until around the 75% mark, and the writing made it hard to follow at times (though she did say she’s working on fixing it, so keep your eyes out for that !!)

→ “what else?”

• Tristian + Hazel
- I found that Tristian could get possessive at times + toxic, which isn't something I look for in books
- The constant nicknames used from both of them irritated me at times
- Their relationship evolved quickly; I wish I could’ve seen more moments of them as friends

• The “suspense”
- Didn’t really get suspenseful until about the half way point
- Choice of words was okay
- More of a romance

Lastly, I want to congratulate Yasha Ali for releasing the book in the first place! 🎉 Solely that is a huge accomplishment that takes a lot of determination! I can’t even imagine myself being an author and being able to write multiple full length books like you! I admire the amount of effort and time you put into promoting your book and making it as perfect as it can be, and I believe that if you keep going with it you’ll definitely make it as a great author! <33

→ Be sure to check out the interconnected book in this series (that can also be read as a standalone): “In Case You Break Free”! I’ll definitely be giving it a chance!

2 stars

Plot: 2 stars
Pacing: 1 star
Enjoyment: 1 star
Characters: 2 stars
Ending: 2 stars

Tristan and Hazel were close friends while growing up, and it always seemed like they both wanted something more. However, when Hazel confesses her feelings for Tristan right before prom, Tristan breaks her heart. Shortly after this, Hazel experiences the traumatic loss of her parents. A few years pass, and Tristan returns to Floralivia after spending some time away with the intention of winning Hazel back. However, his past follows him home and keeps the inner peace Tristan has been craving just out of reach.

First of all, thank you so much to the author for providing me this ARC. It’s absolutely incredible that she wrote this, edited it, and made the cover art herself!

There’s simultaneously too much going on and not enough going on in this story. When I think about it, it’s actually crazy how much is covered. However, there’s not enough foreshadowing, description, transition, or explanation between dialogue scenes. This makes it so most plot points seem brushed over or resolved too quickly. I did really like the twists though!

Because there is so much that happens, this book is actually pretty long. Some of the Tristan/Hazel scenes are super repetitive and this slows up the pacing. The typos and some of the cringey dialogue were things that made this a little difficult to enjoy. I kept editing or rewording in my head as I was reading. The characters weren’t exactly my favorite either. Hazel was very immature. There were things I loved about Tristan - like his compulsion to protect those he loves, but there were also things I wasn’t so thrilled about - his jealousy and possessiveness was a little extreme.

The ending was incredibly sweet and precious but maybe 5 or so chapters too long.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a free copy of this book.

Firstly, I just want to say that it's a great accomplish to write a book, edit it, and design the cover all by yourself.

I'm really sorry to say this book was not for me. I was lead to believe this was a romantic suspense which would lead one to think the book was suspenseful. Needless to say, it was not. The "suspense" doesn't start until much later in the book. Frankly, the plot is utterly ridiculous. We're introduced to new characters randomly, failing to make the introductions seem natural.

The characters are all flat and one-dimensional. The dialogues were childish and the writing was immature. Like including "hehe" in the dialogues?? What is up with that?

There was too much, telling not enough showing.

The FMC is spineless and the MMC is lowkey toxic. Also, this book does not pass the Bechdel test. Literally, all the women talk about is men, men and, you guessed it, men!

The writing was so horrendous I found myself skimming the last few chapters. The subplot is nothing interesting, it just felt cringe as heck.

Also, there's this weird thing with a 15 yr old being infatuated with a 39 yr old man?? Like what? What was the purpose of that?

I'm not even going to bother going into every weird thing. Not worth wasting more of my time.

first of all, thanks to the author for giving me a free copy of this book!! she seems rlly sweet 🤍

however, the book was ok-ish? the premise wasn't bad and the plot had potential but it was written poorly. grammatical mistakes, weird paragraph spacing, run on sentences. also some parts of the writing felt really fanfic-y, like something derived straight out of wattpad. also the dialogue is also a bit off (like it felt really forced and unnatural).

some parts were really great but if this book was edited, it has lots of potential 🤍

ARC REVIEW : 3.5/5 ⭐

Thanks Yasha for the arc.

Appreciating Yasha as she has put her heart and soul in this book. She did everything including cover design which is amazing.

Review :

"She was his home. He was her everything. They found solace in each other."

Second chance, found family, suspense.

- The mmc Tristan Carrington oh boy, he is the mmc energy I need. A mix of cold, golden retriever energy around Hazel (fmc). His character development from being a boy who gives you hope and leaves you to being the MAN she needs was well written.
- The fmc Hazel is represented as a strong independent women who is caught up with her own past and trying to built a life for her and the one's she cares.
- Their past is messed up but they overcame it very quickly. I needed more yearning from him than he did.
- This book is very very fast paced. One moment they're all happy, the next moment suddenly there is something huge happening and before it gets set in my mind boom everything is back to normal. I honestly needed time to process it.
- The relationships of the their respective families were messy for me but yes thanks to last few chapters which clarified the same to a certain level.
- The twist,I needed more fight, some closure but the author didn't give us. Also I wanted the important moments which happened between Tristan and Hazel elaborately but yes I was disappointed.
- The setting, the cute moments, the closure each character needed, the girl bonds, brother bonds was apt.
- Overall it's a suspense romance novel which delivers the same with some flaws. But hey I enjoyed it.

(I need Sebastian - Angelia book I want to read abt them.)

Thank you so much to Yasha Ali for giving me a free ARC copy so I could review this! im currently finishing it on my way back home 🤭.

Starting off, I’d like to say I am so sorry for taking months to finish. That was not fair to the author in any way and I am so completely sorry for that. I have a hard time reading online, I probably should have considered that before I requested the book.

Let’s get into the fun part!

⊹𓏲˚ ꒰𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 ꒱

I absolutely adored Tristan. While Hazel wasn’t my favorite, she wasn’t the worst fmc. Tristan was just giving angst and hope. He was so funny and sweet too. He was protective and possessive and we love that in our fictional men. The romance was my favorite part.

⊹𓏲˚ ꒰ 𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙩 ꒱

for me it was one of those books fueled by the characters rather than the plot but the plot was there. yk what im saying? its like the characters MADE the story. there was a lot of dark stuff but it was tied in well with the story. tristan helped the plot along greatly hehe🙂‍↕️. the poem at the end absolutely destroyed me.

There was a lot of grammatical mistakes that probably need to be edited and stuff. There were also like she could definitely could cut back on the amount of pages. I also didn’t like how instead of talking like twenty two year olds, they talked like twelve year olds. Other than that, it was a good book and I enjoyed my time with it.

would I recommend it? yes.
could it have been better? also yes.

so.. go read it!!

I want to thank the Author for the ARC of this book! She is so sweet and I'm very grateful to have gotten a chance to read "In case you say yes".

I finally got around to binge-reading this book this weekend!!!

Rating: 4⭐
WOW! This story.... If you are looking for a dark romance without smut, this is definitely the book for you! A dark romance without smut? Yes you heard correctly. But don't be fooled, it is not some innocent, sweet story; it's still a dark romance!!!

I don't want to spoil anything so I will say this:
I loved the characters and the world- building, it felt like I was actually there while reading it. And all the drama and twists had me hooked and shook!

As some other readers have pointed out, there are still a few grammatical errors, and some of the sentences felt a bit long, which made it take me a little while to get into the story. However, since this is still an ARC, I’m sure those issues will be polished before the final release, so don’t let that stop you from giving this story a chance!

If you're looking for a book that transforms pain into love and delivers a powerful story of survival, In case you say yes needs to be at the top of your TBR. This is another incredible romantic suspense hit, following Hazel and Tristan as they navigate a relationship born from darkness and shaped by resilience. The author manages to weave together the vulnerability of healing with gripping, page-turning mystery. Hazel is a survivor you root for fiercely, and Tristan's protective instincts are exactly what makes this kind of romance so addictive. The emotional stakes are through the roof, especially as they face overwhelming odds together.

The pacing and unexpected twists make this a super quick read, even though the themes are deep and impactful. If you love a romance that is hard-fought and full of heart-stopping suspense, make sure you say yes to reading this book.
