I listened to this book. It is very well researched, and since I live in the DFW area, I could picture the various landmarks and roads.

I did not like Wendy. Very self-centered. But I think it is correct that she didn't learn how to share etc because she was an only child.

Someone should have told the narrator how to pronounce town names. It sounded odd to hear them pronounced differently than how most Texas people pronounce the town names.

I'd give it 3 1/2 paws

A well written book. It isn’t a white knuckle thriller nor a true “western” but still a decent read. I think the story would be especially interesting if you’re from Texas or ever lived there and know and understand the places and culture of the setting. The narration is solid and the story isn’t too long.

Enjoyed it. I knew all the areas that were mentioned and it was nice to have that familiarity. The story drew me in quickly with the narrator's dreamy voice. Looking forward to book 2 in this series.

This was an audiobook. Loved the narrator! This was a good read. Could have been a tad shorter. Some parts did drone on. Had a Hatfield and McCoy vibe. The ending was surprising. Highly recommend!

beginning of the book had a lot of technical descriptions of property lines and other jargon that I almost didn’t listen past it. I did finish it and it got better as it went on.

Good narration, but I could not follow all the characters and frankly not sure what happened here with the lawsuits about Texas oilfield land.
