Trapped in a small town with nowhere to hide from him…
Alfred works for Eddy as head of IT and Security, and now HQ is moving to the small town of Foggy Basin. Relocating could be great or the worst thing ever, all due to the sexy red head he met at Eddy and Brock’s wedding. Jackie is…too much. Maybe.
Jackie is Brock’s best friend, so he spends most of his free time at the bookstore his buddy inherited. He is supposed to work on his blog while manning the front desk, but he can’t help looking at a certain hipster’s posts a lot more. Why can’t he forget the gorgeous nerd?
Their tryst seemed like nothing serious, but when neither can forget it happened, will it bloom into more or crash like a corrupt PC?
Welcome to Foggy Basin Season Two. Just passing through? No problem. Here to stay, well, better find your place. Sit back, relax and get to know the townsfolk. They love hard and play even harder. Each book is a standalone but why not stay and get to know us and read them all.
My first book was published in 1984 when I was 12. Why are you laughing? Since then I've published 16 books and 2 novellas: two Regencies originally written as Jane Lynson, one paranormal romantic suspense as Paula Christopher and everything else as Lynn Michaels. My husband Michael warned me never to dedicate a book to him, so instead I stole his name for my pseudonym.
Michael and I have 2 grown sons and 1 grandson. We live in Harry Truman's hometown, Independence, Missouri.
While I didn’t dislike it, I did find Jackie to be a bit too much, especially in the beginning. His behavior gave off more of a stalker vibe than anything else. I get he was wanting to get with Alfred again, but he went to the extreme about it, even when Alfred was ignoring him outright.
BUT… when they did get together, it happened too fast. They went from having a conflict, to quickly fixing said conflict, to living together, to happily-ever-after.
As for Alfred, I couldn’t bring myself to like him much. He was a bit of a jerk in his interactions with Jackie early on.
At one point, Jackie goes to Seattle. I’m only a few minutes away from there, so it was nice seeing some of the places we’ve been to, and to see others we need to check out.
I’ve not read any of the others in this series, including the ones from last year. I think that put me at a major disadvantage because I wasn’t familiar with any of the characters. I may go back and at least read Eddy and Brock’s story. Or maybe I’ll read them all, if time allows.
Alfred, newly relocated to the quirky town of Foggy Basin for work, finds himself entangled with Jackie—a vibrant, unpredictable redhead he met at a wedding. Jackie, who spends his days running a bookstore and blogging, can’t stop thinking about Alfred, the nerdy hipster who stole his attention. What began as a fleeting hookup lingers in both their minds, stirring unresolved feelings. As proximity forces them to confront their chemistry, they must decide whether their connection is a glitch in the system or the start of something real.
I enjoyed this story, which explored vulnerability, identity, and the tension between desire and self-protection. However, the story did become a little silly with all the avoidance and sulking, which unfortunately turned it into a farce. Everything was clear and easy to understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
FOGGY BASIN SEASON TWO is a Collaboration of Standalone Books written by Multiple Award Winning Authors. Each Book is a love story of small town charm. LYNN MICHAELS brought forward native son Jackie. He is sweet and caring of others but believes others don't like him. Alfred must move to town for his job. He and Jackie had met at Eddy and Brock's wedding. This is a fast moving wonder of love. Foggy Basin and it's inviting culture has made this a safe place for love and this community to flourish and grow. I Love THIS kind of Book because our lives have become so uncertain and this gives me hope for a brighter tomorrow. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS FOGGY BASIN SERIES SEASON TWO!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say this is my least favorite in the series ( inc series 1). I didn't like either MC. Maybe its because the book was relatively short there wasn't time for background or the build up to their relationship. I also didn't get why Eddy insisted his staff move to Foggy Basin and couldn't work remotely or come into the office a couple of days a week.
