The world remembers Dallas. No one remembers the nineteen days before.
November 1963. President John F. Kennedy disappears from the White House.
Behind closed doors, J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI, the CIA, and crime bosses scramble to bury the truth... and quietly rewrite history.
FBI Agent Lacie Webb is assigned to a case that should not exist. Every file is classified. Every witness is silenced. Every lead brings her closer to forces willing to erase a president to protect their secrets.
With just hours before the parade in Dallas, Lacie must expose the truth or let history repeat itself.
A fast‑paced alternate‑history conspiracy thriller, The Missing President is perfect for fans of Tom Clancy, Robert Harris, Daniel Silva, and political thrillers where power decides what the world is allowed to remember.
This novel can be read as a standalone and also serves as a thrilling introduction to the Lacie Webb Series... making it the perfect place to start.
I liked this book. I always love a good conspiracy theory. I was 9 years old when the actual event took place and remember the events vividly. I have grown up with all the theories and questions. As an adult now, I have not believed Oswald acted alone. This was a good "what if" story. I liked Lacie Webb and would like to read the other Lacie stories.
This was an interesting telling of a tragic moment in American history. Younger readers will most likely be surprised at the ending. I was a child of 10 at the time. I remember it all like it happened yesterday. Future generations will learn the buried truths. The truths we knew deep down.
Conspiracy aficionados rejoice! This reimagining of the JFK assassination may induce whiplash in the reader as they follow the many plot twists and turns. In addition to all the usual . suspects, Bobby and even Jackie Kennedy play major roles. The unexpected ending that brings it all together is definitely thought-provoking. Very well done, indeed!
Robert J Perreault has done it again with another Lacie Webb Thriller! I loved the historical aspects of the book with a new twist that had me on my toes until the very end. Definitely a “flashlight under the covers” staying up late kind of book that you won’t want to put down!
Good storyline, I enjoyed reading it but there is a few pages at the end of a few chapters that the paragraphs are repeated. Other than that it really hooks you into the plot. Nice take on this and a surprising ending.
Fascinating take on the assassination of President Kennedy. Although an unlikely scenario, it does make me think that it entirely plausible given the secretive agencies and power fights
