This second installment is a phenomenal continuation of the first book, and it truly delivers on every level. Happy Williams remains a standout—her complexity, resilience, and emotional journey make her an unforgettable character. Venus has done a masterful job crafting someone so layered and real. You’ll feel everything—joy, heartbreak, anger, hope—right alongside Happy.
The storytelling is rich and emotionally immersive, and although I found myself revisiting book one to reacquaint myself with a few characters (only because it had been a while since I read it), it was well worth it. This sequel pulls you back in immediately and reminds you why you loved the story in the first place.
If you’re looking for a deeply moving, character-driven novel that stays with you long after the final page, this is it. Highly recommend—10/10!
This is the sequel to Searching For Happy, meeting Happy trying to cope with the aftermath of her abusive, adoptive mothers' death, her relationships, her stressful job and managing her mental health. She has to go through some real trails and discoveries once again, before landing on her feet. Loved it!
