When a mysterious invitation arrives, the past comes back to haunt them...
For five years, the Deadly Delights Mystery Club has solved Plotwick's most perplexing murders. Café owner Hazel Thompson, librarian Libby Moore, former socialite Daphne Sinclair, and bookstore clerk Charlie Banks have earned a reputation as amateur sleuths with a knack for uncovering the truth.
But when eccentric collector Victor Alden invites them to a secluded mansion for "one last game," they find themselves trapped in their most dangerous case yet. As a violent storm cuts off all communication with the outside world, Victor reveals a shocking connection between all their previous investigations—then drops dead before their eyes.
Stranded with a killer in their midst, the Deadly Delights must solve Victor's final puzzle as bodies begin to pile up. Everyone at Alden Manor has secrets to protect, and someone is willing to kill to keep the past buried.
The clues point to a decades-old conspiracy involving Plotwick's most prominent citizens, but as the mansion burns and time runs out, the women realize the killer isn't just eliminating witnesses—they're executing a carefully orchestrated plan of revenge thirty years in the making.
Can the Deadly Delights unmask the murderer before they become the final victims? Or will this truly be their last chapter?
Great story with unexpected scenes. A good cast of characters and lots of twists and turns. Kept me guessing to the end. I couldn't put it down until I was done. Highly recommend.
A mystery dinner that turns out to tie all the murders solved by the Deadly Delights into a more intense investigation that went deeper and found older crimes tied to the mysteries they solved. A very intense story, Great read.
The final story brought answers to many open questions. I liked this book but not quite as much as the first five. This book was a little more contrived than the others. Still a fun read.
Great 6-book series. Well written and interesting to read. Trying to decide which character was guilty and often very difficult to choose exactly how or if they really were guilty!
