I absolutely loved this book. Darcie is at a transitional point in her life, trying to figure out what comes next. Finding herself in the middle of an immortal rebellion was not part of her plan. And being pulled from her life and those she loves by the most powerful of these immortals for her own safety was definitely not her choice. Everything she thinks she knows about the world is upended, but she knows her own mind and is not going to accept what others tell her about herself without proof. She's smart, kind, brave and fierce, and I absolutely love her. I enjoyed getting to know the immortals and the lore, and so much is at stake. Darcie's decision at the end was so refreshing and made me so happy. A lot can happen in the future, however, and I am excited to see where the story goes. I definitely stayed up until three in the morning finishing this book as I could not put it down.
I was lucky enough to win this book through a giveaway, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The story was imaginative and full of emotion, blending fantasy and romance in a way that kept me turning the pages. The world-building was engaging, and the characters really stood out. A great read that I’m so glad I got the chance to discover!
I immediately fell in love with the main character of the book as soon as I finished the first chapter. The story was great and kept my interest from page 1 to the end ! I love when books are written with so much detail that I can imagine the world they are living in, and The Immortal’s One did just that ! Oh and did I mention the MMC …. Des!!! I’m coming back for Book 2 because of you!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was so interesting to see the little bits of mythology weaved with the world that was created. I loved Darcie! She is so curious about the world she stumbles into when she’s introduced to Thane, Lome, and Des. I can’t wait to see where the next book takes her. And Des. Omg my sweet, broody baby. I am a sucker for a broody, grumpy MMC and Des checked all the boxes for me! I’m so excited to read the next book 🫶🏼
My review is not gonna be professional or proper like I’m sure most of the reviews are from people who also got a copy. In fact, most of my review will just consist of this idle chatter.
My Thoughts: the writing was meh. The characters were meh. Not my cup of tea, honestly.
I was pleasantly surprised with this story! I received an advanced copy to review. I’ve read quite a few fantasy ebooks that were forgettable or stale, I don’t think this book was either of those things. I really think this is the start to a promising series.
The writing was good, and the pacing was well done, I was able to finish the book in 24 hours without once feeling like I had to trudge through pages to get to the next plot point. It was easy to read. It’s a fresh, light fantasy story that doesn’t seem to linger on some of the darker tones that the modern romantic fantasy genre tends to lean into. I dare say that at times the story even felt cozy. Like this was a book you could read on winter or summer vacation and feel content.
The characters were really fun to be introduced too, and I feel that Britt did a great job of giving the readers just enough information about the many side characters to keep you interested without revealing their entire hand. However, I will say the only reason that I gave this book four stars instead of five is because I felt like the main character could have used a little more depth. While the mystery surrounding the romantic interest and his family worked well for the story, I still felt like some of the side characters were more fleshed out and memorable than the main protagonist Darcie.
That being said! I did enjoy Darcie as the protagonist. She wasn’t annoying to read about and she didn’t make painfully embarrassing decisions that makes her unrelatable. She’s a simple girl and thinks about the situation intelligently, (which believe it or not, is a very hard thing to find in fantasy protagonists these days).
I also enjoyed Darcy’s leading man. He seems like a believable romantic prospect. But the thing I liked the most about this romantic arc was how Britt handles the pacing! Oh my gosh, the slow burn! So rewarding and painful but I loved it! The pace of how these two characters slowly grow together into a careful dynamic with each other is believable and it makes sense. So many times with the soulmate trope characters fall into instant love and that’s that, but with Darcie and Des, it builds and it makes you excited to see what Britt is going to do in the next book to further the characters.
I really did enjoy this book, it was a quick and easy read for me. Something that i enjoyed and it got me out of a reading slump. I’m definitely going to be reading the second book when it comes available. I look forward to see where Britt goes with this series in the future.

While I enjoyed reading this book it felt very high schoolish although the FMC was 20 soon to be 21. Darcie was an average young lady who traveled a lot with her father. Her mundane life took a drastic turn when it was revealed that she was the reincarnated version of an Immortals soulmate. As a lover of books and history Darcie was enthralled with the histories she was learning but she was adamant that she was not the reincarnated mate the Immortals thought her to be.
Des is the immortal who refuses to believe that Darcie is his reincarnated soulmate; although I believe deep in his heart, he knows that she is, but history has not been kind to Des when it came to claiming his soulmate in the past or the curse that they experience as a result of it.
At times in the book Darcie using common sense and logic. Questioning the things she should be questioning; my annoyance came from her not questioning those closest to her and the change in their dynamic. There were certain hints she was given that I feel she missed. She has this schoolgirl crush on her BFF's older brother that I feel is blinding her to some vital clues into this dangerous world she has been thrust into.
Not sure if I will continue this series because it was very YA and the characters were a bit too juvenile at times to the point it seemed that I was reading a story about high school kids versus college age young adults but that's a me thing. Overall, the story was entertaining, and I finished it in one sitting: I'm just not sure if I'll continue.
The Immortal’s One by Samantha Britt was not quite what I expected—it leans more toward YA, with an easy-to-follow writing style that makes it a quick read. The premise itself is intriguing: Darcie’s gap year trip to Greece takes a wild turn when she’s kidnapped by immortals and thrust into a hidden world of danger, prophecy, and soulmates.
While I enjoyed the concept and the fast pace, the story sometimes felt a little rushed. I found myself wishing for more depth in the world-building and character relationships, especially since the soulmate element has so much potential for angst and tension. That said, the broody immortal love interest did keep me turning pages, and the mix of Greek settings with fantasy elements was fun.
The book ends on a cliffhanger—which was both frustrating and effective. It definitely left me curious about what’s next, but I’ll admit I wanted a bit more payoff before the drop.
Overall, if you’re looking for a lighter, YA-leaning fantasy romance with soulmates, magic, and immortals, this is a nice weekend read. Just be ready for the cliffy!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. We meet Darcie, who just spent 2 years in Greece with her historian dad. Now that she's back in Maine she feels a little lost. She meets a handsome man at the library and then again at a club with with his brother, Des. He is gruff and rude but there is smtg about him that sets Darcie on edge. She leaves the club only to be attacked by would-be kidnappers. Darcie is grocery shopping when a tall woman with her friends attack her in thr bathroom with a warning. She has no idea what they are talking about. The next thing she knows she is rescued by a handsome man anf wake up in a mansion. With her memories coming back she is determined to go home and forget everything that happened. Eventho she feels a connection to Des he wants nothing to do with her until its top late. Will Darcie make it out alive or will she become a victim of circumstance.
It's a first from this author for me & you can bet I'll be back for more.
Darcie, the main female character, just has this "Hi, I'm everyone you've ever met" quality to her. She literally feels like just your average everyday gal & I LOVE that! Her life flies off the rails far from that sense of normalcy, but, it's a great ride for the reader! LOL
Samantha Britt's writing style flows & this book sucks you in & holds on for dear life. Fully fleshed-out & relatable characters - I love a submersive reading experience, & this certainly was one. Each page, each character interaction, just served to keep me wanting to know what was coming next. This was the first in a series & I cannot WAIT to get my paws on book 2!.

SO ready for the next book!! Just finished reading The Immortal’s One, and the book was a magnificent mix of mystery and moodiness, realness and romance, intrigue and imagination, history and humor!
Darcie is living a normal young adult life when struck with the paranormal - the revelation that the immortals she knows so much history about are, in fact, very real, and it may be more than just coincidence her dreams are turning into reality. I can’t wait to learn more about dreamy Des and his point of view!
Samantha Britt’s writing is well-thought out and descriptive, so much so that I could picture the immortals’ world vividly.
A must read for young adult fantasy and mythical fans!
I am very thankful to Samantha Britt and team for the opportunity to read an e-ARC of The Immortal’s One!
Having gotten this book as an ARC through Booksprout, I didn’t know what to expect and goodness… was that incredible! Darcie is such a great lead character and not your typical teen with limited life experience either. A heroine that you can respect from top to bottom. I think my favorite chatter through all of this was Eshe. Gave off very Amren vibes from ACOTAR but with a little more softness. I’m not usually one for the “grumpy fated mate” trope but it works for what this book brings and it doesn’t just suddenly end like so many do. My biggest critique would be that sometimes the chapter to chapter flow is difficult to follow, partially in the first 10 chapters but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t move past. That’s why I rated it a 4.5!

I’m a little conflicted with this book … I loved the concept. Our FMC Darcie who’s human is swept away to be protected by three immortal brothers. Her life is in danger because it’s thought she may be a soulmate for one of the brothers. Is she ? It was an easy read and literally took me four hours to finish. However , I felt the conclusion was a bit rushed. I was waiting for something bigger to happen. Then there’s the ending ! Major cliffhanger and it left me feeling like absolutely nothing was resolved. I think that is what the author may have wanted because now I definitely have to read the next book. Would I recommend ? Yes but you will have to deal with being frustrated knowing you have to wait for the next book to come out. Thank you Booksprout for letting me read an eARC of this book.

FMC Darcie- bookworm, loyal daughter and friend MMC Des- gruff, stand offish immortal Spice: kisses Language: yes TW: kidnapping, violence
Tropes: ✨ Fated mates ✨ Touch her and ☠️ ✨ Immortals
💭My Thoughts- I enjoyed this story! I will say from a Christian perspective there isn’t much to be gained from reading this book.
📖📚Recap- Just another day in the library for Darcie when she meets a handsome stranger visiting from Europe. What are the odds she then sees him again at a club she’s dragged to by her best friend Kayla. He introduced her to his brother and immediately, she recognizes his eyes which she’s been dreaming of for years however he’s gruff and rude!
✝️ Christian Connection- - talk of an underworld where an immortal can escape - a Creator made 9 immortal beings that each seem to increase in power in tandem with a deadly sin
The Immortal’s One had me hooked from the very beginning. This fantasy novel delivers an engaging, well-crafted plot that weaves magic, fate, and emotion into every page. The chemistry between Darcie and Des is electric—two characters clearly destined to be together, yet both stubbornly resisting what everyone else can see. Their push-and-pull dynamic added depth and tension that kept me flipping pages late into the night.
The story itself is strong, the pacing smooth, and the world-building vivid without being overwhelming.
If you're a fan of slow-burn romance, reluctant soulmates, and immersive fantasy, The Immortal’s One should definitely be on your radar. I’m already counting down until the next book!.
I am very appreciative of Samantha Britt and their team for the opportunity to read an e-ARC of The Immortal’s One!
I loved the unique concept of this story! The pacing and flow of the book made it easy to finish in one day—and eager to read the next book!
I really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters and their complex histories with each other. Though, I did want to shake Des many times throughout the whole story.
The Immortal’s One has so much depth and intricacy that many great fantasy books often possess—I am still questioning character motives and trying to determine who is on Darcie’s side. I can’t wait to see what unfolds in the next book!
I loved this book so much! Darcie's experience researching history and myths with her father gives her a bit of a leg up when she comes face-to-face with a bunch of Immortals who obviously inspired the ancient legends of gods and goddesses. But nothing prepares her for Des, the hot Immortal she's inexplicably drawn to while he firmly denies what everyone else seems to know––she's his one. Filled with action and intrigue, The Immortal's One kept me on the edge of my seat while I devoured it. I cannot wait for the next book!
I signed up for Samantha Britt’s newsletters, which led to an invite to be an advanced reader for this new release. I love fantasy romance, and the characters in The Immortal’s One sucked me right into the story. The world of immortals was well thought out and developed. Darcie’s reaction to figuring out what was going on was compelling. I liked guessing with Darcie about who were the real good guys and who she could trust. By the end of the book, I was really cheering for Darcie to find her HEA. Now I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Will he ever admit it? Gosh, I really enjoyed this book. The storyline kept me engaged. The character dialogue was easy to follow and the relationships had interesting dynamics. Throughout the book, I kept wishing I that Des would admit she is The One or at least what she was to him. Because obviously they have some kind of connection. And what’s with the green eyes having followed her in her dreams for years, what does that mean. It all makes for a great book. And I can’t wait for book 2.

I absolutely loved this book! It was very well written and kept me in suspense until the very last page. The characters were so well written I felt like I knew them. I became invested in the main character, Darcie from the beginning but by the end I had become invested in the others as well. I loved the descriptive writing and couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait for the next book!!.

I won this book in a Good Reads giveaway, and I wanted to love it so much. The plot is intriguing, the secrets are juicy… I just couldn’t dive into the story with the back and forth with the main characters. It wasn’t as much will they wont they as it was yeah they probably wont. I love a stubborn man don’t get me wrong, but Des was impossible. I look forward to the next book in hope Des can redeem himself.
Absolutely fantastic, it hooked me and every time things settled down a twist happened keeping me reading!!! This book follows Darcie as her world gets wrapped in a battle between immortals where she's a major focus. Living in denial and forced to see the truth at the last moments before she's returned to her normal life again.
Darcie & Des This is a story that i picked up ad could not put down. It is a great fantasy romance with immortals and a bond between Des and Darcie, which she accepted and he tries to deny. I loved this story, I really want more!!! No Spoilers! I Recommend!.

I really enjoyed this book. I found the first few chapters a little slow but the. The book hit fast forward with epic proportions. I love the fact that they have the gods ( per se ) as immortals and the fact she integrated with them so well. This book is such a rollercoaster of emotions I can’t wait for book two
I enjoyed this story and could not put it down. I loved Darcie and enjoyed watching what happens to her and the craziness that becomes her life. She meets new people, finds out immortals exist and has some bad times. But it made for a great story and I cannot wait to see what happens next. Great story, great characters, and so much fun.
This is a really great fantasy read it has romance and danger! It tells the story of Darcie who takes a gap year and goes to Greece where she meets the immortals and Dex her fated mate. Highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the second book. I received this free copy and am leaving a voluntary review.
The Immortal's One is Darcie's journey into a magiacal mythical world she never knew existed. I really enjoyed the deoth of the characters and the relationships built. There is no glossing over, we get the insight into how Darcie feels during this exciting, unbelievable time of her life. This was a hard book to put down. Look forward to the next
