Three hundred MILLION dollars. Your inheritance. Buy anything you want, go anywhere you want, do anything you want. All yours. Except…
You’re a social worker. How do you maintain “street cred” with the kids you’ve devoted your life to?
How will that kind of money affect the man you love?
And then there’s your birth family. The ones that abandoned you to die at fourteen. The ones you suspect even now are trying to have you killed over the money. How do you share with them? Or do you?
What would Jesus do? What would He want you to do? Would you do it?
Welcome back to Collin Walker’s world
Collin Walker’s world has been both shaken and stirred. At her grandfather’s passing she became the lone heir of an estate valued at three hundred million dollars. It is an estate she never wanted. The battle for its control began before Collin was born, and is at the heart of the reason she has been estranged from her family the past twelve years.
But now, with the will coming into effect, she must revisit all the old relationships and all the old traumas. She thought she had made peace with her past through the Lord. But when the past becomes the present, will she still forgive? Even if it’s her family that wants her dead?
Colleen was born in Iowa, but grew up in the San Franciso (CA) Bay area during the 1960s and 70s. She started her working career at 17, dropping coupons in cereal boxes on the assembly line for Kellogg's. Since then she has worked in Hospital Pharmacy, Teaching (infant Day Care through College Math,) and Accounting (payable and receivables; more fun to take money in than send it out!) She spent four years in the US Air Force working on (now long outdated) nuclear missiles. She also earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources in 1984 from St. Leo's College Military Extension Program. Colleen now lives in the Central Valley of California on a 5-acre "ranchette" owned by her sister, Sue. She lives with Sue, her mother, her other sister, Pat, two rescue dogs, one rescue pony, and one pony pony. She has two grown children, Katie and Bear. Bear is married and has her two grandchildren, Mara and Kaylynn. Colleen's story is for God's glory, always.
Just focusing on Collin and Jeff I found this to be an amazing story. Yet there were so many characters and plot twists, any reader stays completely engaged. But I read this as a journey of faith. And coupled with a sermon I just heard today, the question for me is “who or what is first in my life”? Can I truly choose God over all other loves and interests. Could I make the decision Isaac did in scripture? Is my trust in God complete? Colleen Snyder writes with passion and an understanding of human nature. This series goes beyond other Christian fiction, mystery, and suspense novels. She has a unique style that is worth investing your time. It is not just taking the time to unravel the mystery, or to enjoy the story and the characters, but her book draws the reader to look deep within their own heart.
What a great book! I really appreciate Colleen Snyder's characters, their strong personalities, and moral fiber. It was a very enjoyable book with wonderful lessons on trusting God and waiting for His timing and will.
Another page turner. Kept me guessing on who to trust and who not. Kind of sad this is just a 2 book series and I would love to know what they chose to do with what was discovered in the end.
