Ophelia has lost everything. Since her parents’ deaths a decade ago, she has worked hand-to-mouth to make rent and fund the boutique hotel she is opening, which has led her to a job as blood donor to a centuries-old vampire. Javier has one rule: no carnal acts with his donors. He’s been reclusive since before the Great War. His new donor, Ophelia, awakens something fevered in him he hasn’t known in decades. If ever. The more he tries to fight his smoldering attraction to her, wary of exposing her to his world of violence, the more futile his efforts become. When Ophelia’s body responds to Javier during a feeding appointment, it sets them both on a path neither expected.
Something ancient and deadly is stalking Ophelia’s life, using her to get to Javier. The presence will try to tear the two apart, but the danger and bloodshed only draw them closer, revealing parts of their pasts that could lead to their destruction. Or the star collision of fate that brings them together.
Jessika Grewe Glover grew up along the humid shores of South Florida, eventually marrying her British husband and moving to Los Angeles, where they live with their two teenage children and rescue bulldog. Jessika writes multiple genres from literary to speculative fiction. When she is not writing or reading, she can be found traveling, creating art, making chocolate dragons, and bantering in song lyrics.
Ophelia is struggling to make ends meet while launching her new boutique hotel business venture, while also being burdened by the ghosts of her past, so she accepts a lucrative position as a blood donor for an alluring centuries-old vampire - complete with a set of strict rules and an NDA. But it sets her down a path she was not expecting; one of revelation, self-discovery, and a healthy dose of danger…
This is a vampire book and boy do I love a good vampire book! Javier is in need of a blood donor and Ophelia is in need of some extra money. The catch, don't fall for the vampire! Ophelia and Javier start experiencing something with each other they haven't experienced in a while and then.
Then odd things start happening with Ophelia, her best friend, her ex, and the guy who is helping get her hotel business up and running.
Something ancient and deadly is stalking Ophelia’s life, using her to get to Javier. The presence will try to tear the two apart, but the danger and bloodshed only draw them closer.
There is excitement, spicy, and amazing characters and character development!
BloodLily by Jessika Grewe Glover is a powerhouse of a book. Dripping with sensuality and a healthy dose of violence and humour, it blends a variety of genres together softly, without losing itself.
This book follows Ophelia as she begins her journey as a blood donor to a vampire named Javier. They have one main rule; no intimacy. Well, spoiler alert, they break that rule pretty damn quickly. And let me tell you, many, many delights ensue shortly thereafter. But while the sex scenes in this novel are hot and heavy and toe-curling, there is still ample plot happening as well.
The story weaves through these two characters lives together, both of them with past and present cropping up in all sorts of sinister ways. It takes the supernatural and humanizes them, while also showing the absolute dark side of it.
In Bloodlily, Ophelia takes her job as a donor professionally. The vampire, Javier (THE ACCENT!!!) is super particular about following the rules, until he meets Ophelia. I really enjoyed how Jessica used workplace vocabulary in the book. There are some strong female friendships that really add to the plot. The spice was spicing! Check your trigger warnings guys. Overall, a fun read that kept me turning the pages.
I was lucky to get my hands on an Advance Reading Copy for this bloody beauty, and it did not disappoint. Sharp, seductive, and extra bloody, Blood Lily quenches the thirst of any vampire fan. Jessika Grewe Glover has once again painted a decadent dark romance that will keep you enthralled until the last drop.
I read an ARC for this because the premise sounded very cool and original. If you’re looking for high spice plus vampires, you might like this. Depending on the day it’s probably in the 2.5-3 star range. While I did like it, for me there were pacing issues and lots of telling as opposed to showing which did impact the overall experience of it.
Ay mamacita, no, ni mamacita, MAMAZOTA, OTATATA, MAMAZOTATA, OTATATA!
This mamazota of a book is thick and full of a very intelligent, very conversation and dramatic narrative driven romance and eroticism. I don’t think I would call it slow burn because the vampire/blood sucking element makes it pretty intense from jump but I will say the romantic and erotic intensity grows with the plot but once it gets going, it’s quite hot and heavy. I think that’s very cool and I liked that about it. Also, it sort of oscillates through these emotionally dramatic scenes between the main and supporting characters, a bit like a telenovela (revenge, danger, jealousy, personal histories, messy friendships, tough family dynamics, work relationships, etc) and makes you be patient for the romance and spice as it blooms. The character development of Lily is wonderful as well and a powerful statement, and the ending is very sweet as well, to say the least, whoo, go read it. 🖤🩸🥀
Y'all know I'm obsessed with Vampires, right? 😂. I saw this GORGEOUS cover, then immediately had to know everything about this book.
So, obviously I had to sign up for this ARC, right? Right.
If you're looking for Vampires, Grewe Glover brought them in style and with a sexy bang! You're not going to want to miss this one. There's a little something for everyone (MF, MM, FF).
Ophelia just wants to open a hotel, but after starting over, she needs the capital to do so. Javier just needs a source, and he needs it to be a business transaction, impersonal... What happens when these two collide, and when meddlesome exes and best friends get involved? The plot thickens...
🩸 Lots and lots of blood (I mean, they're vampires 😅) 🌷 Oops, I accidentally turned you 🩸 Spicy 🌷 Feminine Rage 🩸 Found Family with a twist
Ophelia takes a job as a blood donor to a centuries old vampire and her course is set on a dangerous but revelatory path.
I was intrigued by the premise of BloodLily when I first read it and I wasn't disappointed. Told in dual POV, this is a mouthwatering feast of a vampire book, and I enjoyed it a lot! The prose is poetical, almost dreamlike, and I was fascinated by the twists and turns of Ophelia and Javi's relationship.
Ophelia is an interesting character, I liked her gentle but determined energy, and Javi is not your typical vampire hero either; he eats carbs and makes scones and pasta for his beloved. Something I can definitely get on board with!
Recommended for paranormal romance readers who like their vampires visceral and passionate. Trigger warnings apply, this book has 4+ chilli pepper spice.
Bloodlily by Jessika Grewe Glover follows Ophelia, a girl down on her luck after her parents died and attempting to open a hotel for business, but she’s out of money. So she picks up an odd job, being a vampires personal blood donor. There’s a strict no-fraternization policy with the hot vampire she’s serving, should be no problem right?
Bloodlily is a vampire romance with a workplace style dynamic and so much spice you’ll be hot and heavy afterwards. I devoured this book! The writing, the plot, the spice?! It had me begging for more!
I rated this a 4 star read, and 4 on the spice scale! I would love to read more on Ophelia and Javier! The way he takes care of her but will kill anyone who even looks her direction the wrong way?? Swoon!
This title will be available April 15, 2025 in Paperback and for purchase on Kindle.
If you're looking for SPICE, this is the book for you. It's steamy, it's romantic, it's PASSIONATE AF!
Ophelia becomes a bl🩸🩸d donor for Javier, a mysterious vampire that has a single rule: don't give in to any effects she feels from the act 👀. When an ancient evil comes into town, Javi and Ophelia get close...REAL close, and find out things about themselves that could change everything.
I thought this was such a fun read, and I rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐!! @jessikagreweglover, thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this!
If you ever wondered what it would be like to fall in love with a vampire, this book is the perfect book for you.
There were so many twists that I didn’t see coming that had me on my toes and I didn’t want I put the book down until I finished it.
Jessika’s writing was so fun to read and there are still many scenes that I can’t get out of my head. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves vampires and also a little spiciness🤭
It took me a little bit to get into the book but overall, it was very enjoyable. Some aspects of the book were predictable but the HOW of those things happened was a lot twist I definitely did not see happening. Javier was so easy to fall in love with, the way he was so protective, so caring. There were a few parts that seemed to be rushed (the progression of love for instance) but it was explained in a way that makes sense. Overall it was an enjoyable book.
I signed up for the ARC team since this was a book by Jessika and also because it was a vampire book - and if you guys should know anything about me is that I looove vampires - and I was not let down at all! Jessika takes vampires and builds them and their lore in her own image, transforming this story into something we had not seen before. It was sexy, bloody and very enjoyable, and I appreciated every single page!
Okay this was a fun, unexpected and super spicy read! I love anything vampire and this book gave me everything I love about them with a modern twist. It almost felt a little bit like true blood but the vampires not being as known publicly but the ppl in the book also weren’t that shocked that vampire did exist. Also the plot twists in this book! Did not see them coming. This is my first book by this author and I can say I am now obsessed!
I knew how much I loved Glover's writing (Stars Like Gasline is one of my all time favorite books) BUT HOLY HELL DID SHE BLOW ME AWAY WITH THIS ONE!
Dark, sexy, romantic, gruesome, and with razor sharp wit, Bloodlily is a feast for the senses. An all-consuming foray into both horror and romance. An examination of humanity and all its darkest corners. I was utterly addicted to this story.
Glover's style shines in this book. Her love and appreciation for art, culture, and architecture serve as the perfect backdrop to lend a rich history to our characters.
And if I had to rate the spice level of this book, we're talking ghost pepper.
Jessika is one of my fav authors. Her aesthetic is dark, sexy, and with lots of spark. This book is super smutty. It has one of your favorite tropes—bloodsucking vampires, and they are totally unhinged. If you love smut, twists, and just an unusual cast of characters, this book is for you!
I really enjoyed how the writing style gave it a classic feel in a modern setting. The romance aspect was nice and outside of the vampire stuff I usually read but it worked well with the modern/classic vibe it had. I also loved Voltaire.
I received this as an ARC, and let me tell you...this was such a fangtastic slow burn friends to lovers that had a well worth the wait ending! Definitely recommend!
"She might be my ruination." And ohhh, does this book deliver on that promise! 😈📖
If you're looking for a vampire romance with tension so thick you could cut it with a fang, Bloodlily is the book to pick up. Ophelia is determined to build a new life, but financial struggles lead her to a job as a blood donor for the brooding, centuries-old Javier. He has one rule—no intimacy with donors. But the moment their worlds collide, that rule becomes impossible to follow.🔥
This book has it all: 🖤 A broody, dangerously devoted vampire 🩸 Forbidden attraction that burns slow… then explodes 🏚 A struggling entrepreneur MC with serious grit 🔪 Something dark and deadly lurking in the shadows 🔥 A touch of spice (okay, maybe more than a touch 👀) 💔 Feminine rage, found family, and secrets that will break you
Jessika Grewe Glover’s writing is lush, intense, and so immersive. The tension was absolutely spot on. The action had me gripping the pages. A lot of twists and turns in the second half of the book. If you're a vampire lover (or just need a new dark romance obsession), this one needs to be on your TBR. 🌙✨
Thank you to the author for sending me this ARC to read
2.5/5 stars. the premise was so interesting, it was executed rather poorly. the writing felt robotic, the pacing was way too fast. it was a fun read but i wouldn’t read it again but the smut was great! if you want a quick, vampire smutty book you don’t have to think about then this is that book
