Repentance: The Gateway to an Abundant Life in Christ
The promise of the New Testament is abundant life in Christ. The Lord Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). This begs some questions. First, is this abundant life for now or only for heaven? Most solid Bible teachers agree that it begins now and is completed in the life to come. If it begins now, how do we enjoy it?
I will show you in this small book that we enter and enjoy the abundant life through genuine ongoing repentance. This is so because repentance, in the words of John the Baptist, prepares the way for the Lord and makes the paths straight so that he may enter our lives and baptize us with the Holy Spirit. It is this regular baptism with the Holy Spirit that the Lord gives when we live a life of ongoing repentance that enables us to live an abundant life by the power of the Holy Spirit.
