Creature II: Brace yourself Mount Robson!

Rate this book
As the town of Valemount was mourning the loss of a hero named Master Sergeant Joseph White, a rebirth was underway. The town had believed that they had done away with the creature. But they were dead wrong. Before the Creature had headed to town with its two minions, it had transferred a soul seed into a new host. A cougar. The Cougar snapped awake suddenly. Pain lanced through its mind, a phantom echo of a death that was not its own. The agony was acute and personal, as if it had experienced the moment of its own demise. The demon within the male cougar, an ancient spirit bound to its mortal form, felt the severing of a soul link that had been in place. The demonic creature inside it had awoken when the cougar died. It missed its past human host. It had been a strong host and the demon within it had near reached its full potential. But, its hunger for power and chaos had been its undoing. This time, it had other plans. The demonic cougar had started feeding on souls, leaving a trail of death and shredded carcasses in its path. It traveled through the wilderness, making its way to a new location with less humans. It was headed to Mount Robson Provincial Park, where it would kill and grow stronger. It tracked and devoured weaker souled animals to help regenerate its now rotting body. Each soul tightening its sagging, dead skin, and adding strength to its abilities. Heightening its smell, sight, hearing and adding new features and appendages. But the creature within ultimately craved a human host. But would its greed and need for power tempt it into submission? Or would it restrain itself and remain just out of sight from human eyes. All it knew was that its hunger was growing, as was its physical form. It craved more.

Author also writes as Aryn Bats

By day, Aaron Gehrig is a devoted husband and father, painting beloved pets and keeping a home full of warmth. By night, when the shadows curl in, the creature known as Aryn Bats takes over, an alter-ego stitched from ink and nightmare. Together they form a singular force. An indie horror author whose tales gnash with blood-wet teeth and seep under the skin. Gehrig writes with haunting beauty, while Bats writes with cruelty, no restraint, no filter, clawing straight into the darkest corners of the imagination. His stories are séances on the page, gothic and unrelenting, where walls breathe, secrets rot, and nothing stays buried. Readers call him a dream. A nightmare. A rare kind of storyteller who dares to walk into the woods, and return with something true.
