Llevaba años queriendo leer esto, pero no encontraba donde leerlo. Ayer, de casualidad lo encontré y no saben lo feliz que fui. Tanto que me lo terminé los tres tomos en menos de un día. Contenía todos los elementos que podían engancharme.

En general, esta novela no aporta nada nuevo al género y no es nada del otro nuevo. Pero si es cierto que al principio estaba enganchada, incluso sonriendo como una estúpida porque todo pintaba demasiado bien. Sin embargo, llegó una cierta escena y ahí ya se me borró la sonrisa. ¿Por qué? Porque si hay algo que no soporto leer es cuando no hay consentimiento explicito-abusos camuflados de amor. Lo odio. Siento que le quitan la gracia a la novela y me siento bastante incómoda.

“Life after death is a false concept. You are not you anymore”.

Básicamente esto es lo que ha pasado. Siento que podría haber sido argumentado de otra manera. Pero bueno, me alegro de habérmelo leído y haberme hecho una idea propia de la novela.

¿La recomendaría? No lo sé. Pero de primeras no, a no ser que te guste específicamente el tema y este tipo de género.

I'm reviewing this sereis as a whole. Well, this was different. The way the story is told was weird for me at first not being used to read comics by Chinese authors, but once I grasped how the story was told, I enjoyed it. The paranormal aspect was interesting though I suspected what was going on early in the first volume and the art is simply stunning. I'd love to read the following up story about these characters that the author is working on. I hope it will be translated.
I want to mention also the edition, is fantastic. The quality and the care the publisher has put on it is something else.

This is so sad and messed-up. I’m also not in the least bit gratified. I’m hanged somewhere, awaiting my death, I guess—the satisfaction of falling face first, with my right cheek against the cold, hard ground…

My overall feelings clearly justifies the final quotation, I sometimes feel like I’m supposed to be waiting for someone in this life. Once I find them, all my pain will be remedied. My life will be complete..

I’m still waiting here. Is there another volume coming? GIL IS FRICKEN RESURRECTED. I need a definite ending!!

in this third and final volume of sanctify, gil’s lies begin to unravel before lance’s eyes as they get closer to finally catching the killer. i thought this was a great conclusion to the story. i would be interested in reading more from the author and artist!

El hecho de que haya terminado el capítulo final de este volumen y mi primer pensamiento haya sido "qué" es un claro ejemplo de lo confundida que estuve durante la lectura de esta historia. Claramente algo falló: o la traducción es mala y confusa, o bien la historia original es cualquier cosa, pero claramente hay algo que no está funcionando bien acá. Entiendo la idea principal, pero hay muchas cosas muy wtf que no me terminaron de cerrar incluso cuando leí todo. El dibujo hermoso y la edición de Kemuri una belleza, pero no me sirven de nada esas cosa si no puedo entender qué carajo está pasando en la historia...

A very dramatic but fairly satisfying conclusion, w some wiggle room for a sequel! Ngl, the overall story gave Colleen Hoover if she knew how to write decent dialogue 😅 Though the bonus chapter was hella fan service for my taste. Will be reading whatever sequels come out!

Sin duda alguna esta historia ha sido una de mis mejores (o la mejor) lectura del 2022. Todo el plot tan bien llevado que hasta los clichés propios de estas historias te encandilan por la forma en la que aparecen representados en la obra. Ha sido un viaje lleno de emociones que se trasmiten a cada página. Una historia de venganza, dolor y amor. La tristeza que me deja y a la vez la esperanza por no ser un final cerrado y que las autoras están haciendo un side story que estoy deseando leer y seguro que llega a España.

Absolutely NOT A ROMANCE

I had to take a moment before reviewing this series since it hit me so hard in the feels, but here I am and I have to say volume 3 was my favourite.

I just loved the art style of this volume. The cover is beautiful, and the story is so emotional it had me crying.

Gilbert's true nature is finally revealed. He is a reincarnation of the Gilbert we saw sacrificed together with Lucian at the orphanage in volume 2, and Lance IS Lucian. When they died, Lucian was turned into an exorcist in his next life after making a vow before his last breath, and poor Gilbert ended up absorbing the demon the satanic cult summoned out of pure rage of them killing Lucian before his eyes. It was so tragic. All Gilbert wanted was to save the man he loved, and in the process, his soul became forever damned and bound to the demon. It was their mission to find each other in their next lifetime, only the demon has now began to corrupt Gilbert's soul, leading to the dark tendencies we saw in the previous volumes. The body he's in doesn't even belong to himself, it's a random man he possessed so he could have a vessel to carry out his deed with: to kill all of the remaining cult members he couldn't get back then. I found this so tragic, because if the demon had never corrupted him, he could have found Lucian in this life and started over given they still had their memories of their previous life. It's so bittersweet and beautiful in it's despair.

While Gilbert's motivation is justified, Lance sees how the darkness has corrupted him and tries to stop him from killing one of the still living cult members entire family, given the wife and son are innocent. While he doesn't succeed in saving them, he manages to purify Gilbert, freeing his soul (which descends back to hell, where it will likely stay until it can possess a new vessel) and in turn freeing the man who was possessed.

We also get to see more of the orphanage massacre in detail, and it disturbed me deeply.

While I wish these two could have had their happy ending, I feel like the telling of their story was incredibly poetic. The darkness in the manga was never added "just because" it's horror, but because it served a purpose and I think the tragedy of it was what made some scenes hit even harder, especially those featuring the two boys and the rest of the children at the orphanage. It was all just so unfair and unjust, and I hope Gilbert's soul can find peace, as well as Lucian.

Overall, this entire series was incredible. Dark and heavy, but so well written and illustrated it will stick with you. I feel like this is exactly what a horror manga should be. 5 stars!

Agarré este manga en la biblioteca de Momo y la verdad me llamó la agencia de la ilustración, tan sutil y que me recordaba al estilo de una serie que había visto hace mucho. Después me enteré que Godsstation hacia fanarts de una ship de esta serie y ahí entendí porqué tenían un aire familiar.
La historia empieza ligera, unos asesinatos unidos a un culto satánico, un policía y un detective exorcista. Todo muy historia clásica que la verdad iba bien, pero no entendía por dónde iba a anclar el romance. Después viene el primer extra CON TODO lo +18 y ahí se van viendo las primeras intenciones entre estos dos.
El tomo 2 pasó como un buen puente, pero estaba más o menos claro que todo era una olla a presión y este tomo, el final, es un cierre maravilloso, pero triste. No es perfecto ya que deja muchas cosas abiertas que claramente nunca llegaron, pero siento que no es necesario indagar mucho más. Debo agregar que LLORÉ, el plot que se pega está muy bueno y bien hecho, de hecho cuando lo repienso es un plot casi rozando lo básico sobre todo por la forma de la historia. Pero lo que hace una buena historia no es un plot, si no el como te lo cuentan y la manera en como cuadro a cuadro vas sintiendo el dolor de Gilbert, como sufrió en los últimos momentos de Lucien y la forma como Lance se da cuenta que es ÉL la pieza más importante en todo esto me apretujó el pecho.
Estoy muy contenta, es una historia linda y la edición en español está muy bien ejecutada. La verdad me encantó todo.

This might be the first time I leave a full series review in a single volume review.Eh, at least I picked the last one, so as to not spoil absolutely everything for everyone.

Well, this wasn't for me. I don't generally read dark romances, because I hate the muddled I love you, care for you but I deceive you/hurt you dynamics. And unfortunately, that's what I got in this series. Unfortunately, it wasn't immediately clear from the first volume and the heavy atmosphere and MC trauma kept me glued to the page. I should have stopped reading at the middle of volume 2, but habit kept me turning the pages until I finished the whole thing... And then volume 3 came to somewhat explain wtf was going on, but it was still disturbing and unsatisfying af.

Glad I didn't buy this one!

Amazing!

Such a well told story, the panels and art described the pain for the 2 protagonists in great detail. I liked the open ended ending, it leaves a spark for hope somehow although it’s such a tragic story! I hope to read more of your mangas when you get around to it! You are very talented!

¡Wuola!

He leído en LC estos 3 tomos. Recuerdo que anoche me quede hasta tarde, esperando a terminar de comentar el tomo anterior para poder leerme este con la calma y sin cargo de conciencia alguna.

¿Qué puedo decir? Estos 3 tomos han sido toda una sorpresa. El primero me dejo una sensación de indecisión: un hermoso arte y una introducción que se queda a medio fuego, pero decidi adentrarme en la locura sin pensarlo mucho, total, ya tenia los tomos comprados, ¿Qué podía perder? ¡NADA! ¡OS LO GARANTIZO!

El tira y afloja que tienen estos dos desde el principio de la historia es, simplemente, sublime. La tensión no hace más que aumentar conforme pasas los tomos: conocer los miedos de Lance y su soledad, pero también palpas la inmundicia y la locura de Gilbert; dos personas opuestas: una toda luz y otra todo oscuridad llena de esquirlas, girones e imperfecciones. Es en este tomo 3 cuando todo explota y nuestros 2 protagonistas enseñan sus cartas, juntando perfectamente las piezas de este puzzle. Si bien es cierto que las piezas las tiene el lector casi desde el minuto uno del primer tomo, no deja de ser una sorpresa el descubrimiento final, quizás porque una parte de nosotros espera que el destino de este par no sea tan retorcido como parece.

El tema de las reencarnaciones, las posesiones y los sacrificios no esta tratado en exceso, pero lo que explican es lo uno necesita para entrar de lleno en la historia y entender todo lo que va a pasar. No soy una persona religiosa, pero el tema de las reencarnaciones y la busqueda de dos almas siempre ha sido algo que a mí, particularmente me ha atraído de siempre, quizás por eso he disfrutado mucho más esta historia.

La historia en todo momento habla de grises, de negros y blancos, de que es justo y que no lo es, todo con unos tintes de horror muy bonitos. ¿Es legitimo cobrar una brutal venganza contra aquellos que te lo arrebataron todo? Eso es algo que solo el lector podra responder. Lance y Gil entraron en una espiral donde la humanidad ya estaba perdidad y la moral se habia esfumado, sus destinos, unidos una vez, se habían separado y aun sabiendolo Gil tomo las decisiones que considero oportunas para terminar lo que había empezado.

Retorcida, llena de puntas afiladas y recobecos oscuros, eso es Sanctify. Solo espero que las autoras se animen y nos traigan una secuela.

Llegamos al final de Sanctify con un tomo que para mí ha sido el mejor de todos. Después del final de infarto que tuvo el segundo, no dudé en coger este porque necesitaba saber que iba a pasar al final. Todo tenía su sentido, y hasta que no llegas hasta aquí no tienes las respuestas de toda la historia. Me ha parecido un último tomo conmovedor, lleno de acción, de tristeza, de alegría por llegar hasta el final, de poder, de descubrimientos, y de una venganza que se lleva gestando durante décadas, que al fin se ha podido resolver. En las anteriores reseñas describí que faltaba bastante de BL como trama principal, aunque creo que en este tomo tiene su sentido el porqué se le cataloga así, y no, no es lo que se esperaba en un principio, pero aún así me ha seguido encantando. La parte demoníaca y todo el tema de exorcismos y cultos a satán me han flipado, es todo muy macabro y no creo que sea apto para todo los públicos, pero la historia que ha construido el autor me encanta, como lo ha hilado todo con el pasado y demostrando que ni todos son tan buenos ni todos tan malos, y como la venganza y el rencor al final no es algo que acabe beneficiando a las personas. Aunque al final se resuelva todo, realmente sientes al leer las últimas páginas que ha quedado todo en un tono agridulce, porque no todo el mundo tiene su final feliz, y que no todo el mundo ha podido tener ese final porque alguien se lo arrebató. Se te rompe un poco el corazón por las injusticias que tuvieron que vivir, pagando por algo que no fue ni siquiera su culpa, pero a la vez sientes alivio porque al final todo queda resuelto, y el mal deja de acechar.

Es el final de la trilogía, pero el autor ya dejó entrever que seguramente iban a haber más historias paralelas, así que estoy deseando leer cualquier otra cosa que tenga que ver con esta historia. Muy recomendada, pero tened en cuenta las advertencias.

Trigger warnings: very violent, aggressive questionable non consent, child abuse, disturbing imagery, BL... You'll probably cry.

I can't believe how much I feel like crying over this one. I've managed to hold in most of the tears but it's hard. The author does such an amazing job of building up the characters and the setting and all of the feelings and emotions over the course of the three books and when you get to the climax you just feel your heart shatter.

Normally I'm not a fan of tragedies, I like my happy endings. But this one was a tragedy that actually could make me appreciate tragedies. The sadness I felt in the moment almost made it hard to breathe. I'm usually a coward who would never think of rereading something that makes me this emotionally upset but I can see myself rereading this again and again in the future. It's just so damn good!

To further expand on my trigger warning, the explicit adult part again is a fantasy. In this particular series they never cross that line. The fact they never cross the line only emphasizes how incredibly powerful the love burning inside stands. It's the only reason that he's able to resist any of his demonic nature.

I'm fortunate enough to have discovered this series after the epilogue volume has been released. There's a one and done volume that takes place after this trilogy. I'm hoping that it will give me the closure that my heart still screaming for.

It's been a while since characters have pulled me this deep into them. Empathically they capture you. I have my feelings sending me reeling and having to go cuddle with my husband and cats just to settle down my heart. I can't believe how moved I feel right now. The bitter sweet pain of this emotional anguish is something that I encourage others to experience. It's one of those hurts that hurts in a good way.
