I, Bella Brewster, have spent the last two years running Moonwake Café, perfecting my espresso spells, and telling myself I’m completely over the scoundrel who broke my heart until my ex strolls back into town, all roguish smiles and bad ideas, claiming someone stole his gold.
Seamus O’Connell isn’t just any ex. He’s a leprechaun (totally not how you pictured them), and not just any leprechaun. He’s the one who left me without a word, vanishing like mist and taking my heart with him. Now he’s back, swearing up and down his magically bound fortune has been stolen, and that whoever took it wants me involved. He insists this isn’t just about gold. It’s about keeping his magic strong. Like I care if he withers into a pile of dust? Too bad I do still sort of care. A little.
I should tell him to take his missing gold and shove it up a rainbow’s end. Instead, I let myself get pulled into the mystery, partly because I do love a good puzzle, and partly because I want answers for two years ago. Absolutely nothing to do with any lingering feelings I definitely DON’T have .
Now, we’re following a trail of enchanted riddles, sneaky clues, and the occasional detour into fae mischief. Hecate, of course, has many opinions about my life choices—mostly I told you so, that she happily shares with me, punctuated with dramatic sighs and exaggerated tail flicks. Even she can’t deny the signs are all pointing toward something bigger than stolen treasure.
The real question isn’t just who took Seamus’s gold but why they seem so determined to throw us together.
This is a cozy magical romance set in the ever-shifting town of Evershift Haven. Full of mischievous matchmaking, second-chance shenanigans, and a familiar who’s way too invested in her witch’s love life, this book is perfect for curling up with a cup of enchanted coffee and a plate of bespelled pastries. It includes a dash of heat because sometimes, old flames burn the brightest.
Aurelia Skye is the pen name Kit Tunstall uses when writing science fiction romance. It’s simply a way to separate the myriad types of stories she writes so readers know what to expect with each “author.”
Seamus, a leprechaun, strolls in to her cafe and begins to pull her into finding his bound fortune. For some reason whoever it was who took it wants her involved. It's almost time for the spring festival and the ancient oak tree, The Heart of Haven, is starting to bloom. Into her tranquil musings zooms Hecate, her familiar, a Yorkie-Chihuahua mix. She tells Bella that she had a prophetic dream last night about "him". In less than it takes to take a breathe in walks Seamus. He tells her his gold has been stolen and he'll turn human if he doesn't get it back. She wants to know why she should care. He tells the note left in place of his gold mentions her. She lets him know that she'll think about it. Later that night as she's closing she finds another note that leads her to the inn. There she heads to the library where she finds the book that she had been reading when she and Seamus had an argument and she left. When the ghost of the library finds the book Bella opens it to have a letter drop out. It seems Seamus left a farewll note to her only he didn't expect her to not return to the library. They receive another clue and go to the plaza where they met. Then another clue with another destination. It seems each clue takes them on a memory lane walk. Will Seamus find the foregiveness he seeks from her after all this? Will Bella forgive him or tell him to leave and not return? A lovely story that has the reader trying to decide whether Bella should forgive him or just give him the boot. After all if he left her once he could do it again. Will being with him cause more heartache than she can bear?.

This is probably in my top three of the Evershift Haven series so far. This was such a sweet second-chance romance between a witch and a leprechaun (and he is absolutely not the tiny cartoon version).
I really liked that there wasn’t a major town crisis this time. We mostly stay with Bella and Seamus, which I prefer. Their history carries the emotional weight, and I enjoyed watching them work through the hurt while chasing enchanted clues. Like the Valentine’s installment, there’s a light scavenger hunt element that adds a little whimsy. And Hecate? The real star. I am always here for a sassy dog familiar with big opinions.
The resolution is very tidy. But it’s a novella, and within that space Seamus did enough to win me back. I do love a solid grovel, but for the length, it worked. There’s also a small bit of spice, just enough to remind us that old flames can still burn.
Overall, this one felt cozy, romantic, and a little mischievous (when you find out who put together the scavenger hunt). If you’re here for second chances and magical small-town vibes, this is a charming addition to the series.
Love takes on an even deeper sweetness the second time around, a sentiment that resonates deeply with our main characters. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting Bella in the first book of the series, and now we delve into her journey.
I found joy in the puzzles and the heartfelt connections that weave through Evershift Haven, a place where everyone truly feels like family. It’s beautiful to see how these relationships blossom and support one another.

A Hunt For A Very Special Treasure When Seamus left Bella two years ago, he broke her heart - now, he’s back and he needs her help. This fun leprechaun-luck story is all about second chances - these two really needed a second chance, and I’m so glad that I read their story. A fun read.
