Will Harper’s life is obliterated by the global financial crisis. An episode of noughties nostalgia that he would rather forget, sees him lose his job, girlfriend and home.
Staring into the abyss, Will is offered a lifeline in the form of a new business venture claiming to give highly vetted clients the opportunity to undergo Deconstruction - a rejuvenation process to break down their lives to give them a blank canvas, a new beginning. And it works—or at least, it seems to.
A new love interest and a lack of other viable employment prospects, help Will paper over any cracks. However, he is lead down a one-way path to face murderous Russian gangsters, Hong Kong Triads, Scotland Yard and a fading 80’s Hollywood icon, who should really be in rehab.

Fans of crime novels with some wit and humor will definitely enjoy this one! As the blurb promises, it's a fast-paced read that I finished in a few sittings. The humor woven into the story was enjoyable and had me chuckling more than a few times.
We follow Will who is down on his luck and has been presented with a new opportunity, deconstruction. Deconstruction allows someone to "deconstruct" their life and essentially start over. But, is it ever really that easy? And shenanigans ensue.
This is a fun, fast, and easy to read crime novel. Not your typical crime fare. And, to make it even more amazing, the author donates all profits from this book to Doctors Without Borders!

I can honestly say I have never read anything quite like this. It almost gives TheWolf of Wall Street vibes. It was so fun to read. The story follows a man named Will, who hits a hard bump in his life. Lost his job, his girlfriend, and basically his reason for getting up every day. But he luck out and is introduced into a new venture opportunity called Deconstruction. It allows people to start fresh. But things are never as they seem. I loved the fast paced action and drama. And I love even more that all author profits are donated to Doctors without Borders. All the more reason to go out and grab you a copy!

If you know me, you know chaos is basically my middle name—so The Deconstructors was always going to be my kind of book. It follows Will, who’s having an absolutely shocking run of luck (job gone, girlfriend gone, general will-to-live hanging by a thread) before stumbling into a very dodgy-sounding “fresh start” opportunity. As you’d expect, things go delightfully off the rails from there.
What I loved most was the wit. It’s properly funny in that dry, slightly unhinged way that sneaks up on you mid-page. The whole thing feels a bit chaotic (complimentary), fast-paced, and just really entertaining to read.
Also—100% of the author profits go to Médecins Sans Frontières, which honestly makes it even easier to recommend. Chaos, humour, and a good cause? Go on then.

This book is dark and funny and quite, quite brilliant. From the slightly unhinged plot to the flawed and sometimes questionable main characters, this story is chaotic and relatable. If you are always one half assed decision away from complete disaster then this might just be the book for you! I loved it. I felt like the author really captured how unpredictable and unstable modern life really is, but did it in such a way that it was easy to laugh in the face of destruction and despair. One of my favourite books of the year so far. Drily witty and completely engaging. Would love to read more from this author. In addition, all author profits generated by this work are to be donated to Doctors Without Borders, so that’s reason enough for you to buy this book. Go on. What are you waiting for?

The Deconstructors is a fun crime novel that, at over 300 pages, is fast-paced and over way too soon. I thought the whole thing was entertaining and laugh out loud funny during some parts. Poor Will is a hapless fellow who goes through a string of bad luck before being offered an opportunity to take part in a new business venture. You’re just going to have to read it yourself to find out what happens, but it’s a fun ride! I rate The Deconstructors 5 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely loved this book! I’ve been looking for a fiction novel that made me laugh out loud since reading “sweet sorrows” by David Nicholls. It’s very well written and so entertaining. True escapism!
