Hahahaha…this book was so bad but by sheer will, I was determined to finish this mess.
Genuinely, I don’t know how this book got published. Whoever edited this book hates the author. The amount of grammar (they used he’s wrong…), spelling mistakes and random asterisks (maybe indicating something that needed edited and instead it was just left there??). Guys I’m genuinely baffled seeing good reviews for this book because how and why???
This book was insanely repetitive it could’ve easily been a 300 page book. Instead it was drawn out because every time the characters took one step forward they took a million steps back by the next chapter. It felt like in every chapter, I was watching the characters get neuralized Men in Black style and then go on the repeat the same 3 conversations they had in the last chapter.
I was genuinely going insane. I even thought that this book was some sort of combo book where they all add the same plot but written slightly differently. I was reading the same thing over and over EVERY.SINGLE.CHAPTER where only one irrelevant detail would change and act as some sort of ‘development’. The MCs had the same conversation every chapter, I was/am losing my mind.
I’ve never read a book where I thought the MCs were dumb, this one will be a first for me. For example, the FMC could say something and from you could make very clear assumptions then the MMC will go and ask the stupidest question where the answer will obviously be no.
Everything was just sooo???????
If you are like me and enjoy torturing yourself with bad books give this go!
I really wanted to like this book and while I enjoyed the overall plot, the book was ridiculously drawn out. Not only are the dramatic scenes overly drawn and repetitive, there were sometimes entire lines of text that were written verbatim, making me question whether I’d already read that section. Couple that with multiple lines used ad nauseam (“I nod, not trusting my voice”, “there was no heat in it”, etc.) and I was ready to throw my phone across the room. There were also some grammatical errors. Additionally, the FMC was supposed to be this strong, independent, woman but came across and whiny and silly and had me rolling my eyes through much of the story. The book should have been at least 20-30% shorter if the author didn’t keep repeating herself and could have been a 3-4 star story otherwise. I read Kenzie and Everett’s story and don’t remember feeling this annoyed by that book.
I really enjoyed the story 'Beneath His Vows' by Blair Wilde. It was so good not only with a good romance but also with plenty of danger and espionage. Bailey is trying to find her best friend Lena and Lena's two children who have gone missing from the apartment that they share with Bailey. Lena left a USB drive with Bailey before she left town, and Bailey knows it has to do with the man Michael Devos that Lena had been seeing. It was obvious to Bailey that Michael was dangerous and not someone that Lena and the kids should be around and when Lena and the children go missing Bailey finally resorts to calling Michael's phone and demanding to know where Lena and the children are and threatens him with the USB drive that Lena left with her If he doesn't tell her where they are. That puts Bailey in danger, and she starts to notice strange men watching her and following her from the diner where she works. That is when she first sees Owen Hawkins. He came into the diner and just his presence seems to scare the men that are bothering Bailey away. Then he comes to her aid twice as the other men try to approach and grab her. Bailey finds herself fleeing the city with Owen when he tells her that he knows where the children are and that he will help her find Lena. He explains that Michael and his men are part of an evil organization and are very dangerous and Bailey is now being targeted by them because she threatened Michael with something Lena gave her. Bailey at first doesn't tell Owen about the USB drive because she doesn't know if she can trust him. It is a frantic adventure that leads them one step ahead of their pursuers as they drive to Montana to see Lena's children and work together to find out what happened to Lena.

Liked this book, but it needs a good editor. This writer is either decent at grammar or had a bad editor. There are repeated errors of the same types, though this is somewhat better than the common poorly edited self-published books. But the big editing issue is content. A good editor would have fixed the horrible repetition. It’s just too much. The characters think the same thing about the other characters soooo many times that removing just a majority of those would trim 100 pages.
It’s too bad, because the story line is ok enough that I’d like to have finished the series. I liked the characters. Not great, I wouldn’t go looking for more of this author’s books, but ok. The characters just fall too quick into infatuation to come off better than ok.
There is a continuing storyline in the series that I wanted to see the end of, then I discovered that I had not read the first book in the series despite this being Book 1. There is a related series that introduces the characters and the ongoing storyline.
I started that book, but I found myself again frustrated with the repetitive thoughts and wording. There is one place where two back to back paragraphs literally repeat the same wording only slightly changed. I kept going, but I stopped before finishing that book. A DNF @ 58%.
Lastly, at least four of the five guys who make up the pals of Raven V are white men—and at least four of them end up with black women? I love stories about interracial couples. I AM one half of an interracial couple! But this just is too unlikely. It’s to the point of being very odd. It comes off badly.
So to the author, get an editor (or a better one). Tighten up the writing.
This definitely was all about found family for both Bailey and Owen for different reasons in life. Bailey was on the hunt for her Lena, her chosen sister and her kids. So was Owen. When Bailey crosses paths with Owen on that same hunt, life gets crazier than it already was.
I liked Owen. Given his chosen profession, he was what he was. Always a protector first. Bailey, however, was stubborn. I understood it, but at times I wanted her to listen more just be Owen had a better grasp of certain situations than she did. But since that didn't always happen, knocking heads was the order of the day more often than not a lot of the time.
I was also glad to see some couples make appearances from previous books, and the whole team in general, in this sort of Silver Ridge universe to get the job done.
In the end, the situation was bigger than anyone thought it was and Bailey had to grit it out with Owen. They worked it out and came into their own. A sweet resolution for this couple.

Finding the True Meaning of a Partner in Life - I started reading this book before I went to bed last night, with the intension of sleeping and continuing the next day, but my plans didn’t work out that way, as I couldn’t stop reading until I finished the next morning. The story drew me in from the beginning and kept my attention all the way through to the end. Nothing prepared me for the whirlpool of emotions I went through, as I turned each page that took me on a wild and crazy adventure with the characters.
The angst and suspense-filled storyline was filled with steamy, action-packed and twisted dangerous moments, that had me on the edge of my seat. If you are looking for your next must read book with substance, then look no further than this book and you won’t be disappointed. Bailey and Owen’s hunt for family turns into a wild, emotional adventure.Their stubborn clashes and fierce loyalty build a fiery, believable connection.Suspense, danger, and steam swirl through a gripping Silver Ridge universe tale.
A sweet, small town story of trust, found family, and fighting for a true partner in life.
Beneath His Vow is the first book in the Silver Ridge Mountain Vows series. The story is about Bailey Freeman and Owen 'Hawk' Hawkins. The story is a mix of suspense, danger, mystery, steamy chemistry and two main characters that explode together. I found the book to be well written, maybe a bit drawn out at times, but the characters kept my interest, even I wanted to knock some sense into Bailey at times. They have to learn how to work together and that sets off a whole other kind of work that is much more pleasure.
This is a romance book that everyone is going to be reading and falling in love with. OMG talk about Bailey and Owen keeping you up way past your bedtime. I started reading this amazing book and had to finally put my kindle down when I could hardly keep my eyes open. Then the next day I grabbed my cup of coffee, my kindle and finished reading this 5/5 star book. You’re going to be amazed at this romance story.
Enjoyed reading Bailey and Owen story. They both had issues that they were dealing with from their past. Bailey grew up in foster care not knowing her parents. Owen was dealing with a family tragedy that was not his fault. Owen and Bailey needed each other to heal, and love was the answer. I also loved the action and suspense in this story.
Owen, nickname, Hawk is on a mission to catch a very bad person in valves in many evil doings. In order to do do he has to keep eyes on Bailey, to get info to finding Lena, which will hopefully lead them to Michael, an evil man. Owen falls for Bailey, but he has to stay sharp and alert for everyone’s sake.
Bailey is being targeted after her friend and her children go missing. When Owen is caught following her, tensions arise, and danger ensues. This was an exciting story jam-packed with heat and suspense. The way ot all unfolded was intriguing and kept me invested. I just could not get enough.

Owen and Bailey two stubborn people who are bright together because of the danger Bailey is in. Having to protect her and find out information makes the job even more dramatic. The book does leave some info out, so makes it a bit confusing. But other than that it was a good read.

I loved this story! Blaire Wilde is fast becoming one of my favorite IR authors! This story was action packed, sexy but not overly sexy. It had just the right amount of steam and drama. Well written, great characters and storyline. I would highly recommend this book.

I just want you to know this with the best book ever. I really enjoyed this book even though I read it out of context. This book made me cry. It made me laugh and also I got angry, but it had a rough beginning and beautiful ending. Can’t wait for the next one. You will enjoy 😉
Owen, his friends, brothers in arms and Silver Ridge. The people at Silver Ridge look after their own, all the residents, family, friends and loved ones, strangers are recognized which helps keep everyone safe. A lovely book, I read book 2 first which lead me to Owen and Bailey, highly recommended.
This was a great suspense, sexy, romance. It fit right in with the Christmas stories. I had wondered what happened to Mel and I’m glad Anxon found her. Now it’s Bailey and Owen who found each other. Can’t wait for the next installment in the Silver ridge mountain group and find out what is next.
What happened to the agent that picked Michael up.? Didn’t he have the same insignia on his hand, that Michael had? W T F !! Did he and Michael just ….. Vanish off the Planet!.? Loose Ends😠😠
My only issue is with how long it took for Bailey to come correct with Owen. Just know your own strengths and let those that have capabilities do what they do. It could have been a better and quicker progress.
Just loved the characters both Owen and Bailey are broken protagonists who take a while to get but there is no ignoring the steam and the suspense!! A great read
Oh the twist and turns in this book but the happily ever after made up for it! The intrigue of this team, I hope they bring down Michael and his network! A very good book!
Enter a storyline where we have a strong FMC on the run, Bailey, who is so used to having to camouflage herself meets MMC, Owen, ex-Marine who is a master of blending in the shadows. I was drawn into it because I’ve been following the series and wanted to see how this storyline would play out.
The banter is cute and lightweight and enough to make each other feel loved.
With the understanding that this is an ARC copy and not a final published copy, I over looked the many typos and inconsistencies in the text. It definitely needs another pass through editing before final release.
