There are many things that go bump in the night, and I am one of them.
Hunters are what prevent our world from descending into chaos and bloodshed. We are the shields in the dark and the weapons of protection, walking the line of good and evil every day… or so I thought.
I was born and raised to hunt, honed into an elite soldier dedicated to our cause, until those around me commit the worst act imaginable and betray me. Left for dead, I have no choice but to turn away from humans and embrace the very monsters I pursue for help.
Everything I thought I knew about our organization quickly crumbles around me, and I lose my faith in humanity. Vengeance steals my morals, and before this is through, I will have more blood on my hands than the traitors I hunt.
I don’t care, though, not anymore—all I want is revenge.
The Fates have a strange plan for me, however, and when all is said and done, can I ever go back to who I was before, or will I become a monster just like those surrounding me?
Welcome to the Court of Evil, where not everything is black and white.
That was then: So I'll be popping that cherry, new to me genre, love this author, soooo here goes, I'm tip toeing in..if I hate it, I hate it, but I'll never know if I don't try it. Who knows I could end up adding a completely new genre to my collection.
What to expect: 🔪Touch her and die 🗡️Touch him and die 🌞Grumpy x sunshine 😈Human x monster ⚔️Hunter x monster ⚖️Revenge 🛑Enemies to lovers 💞Found family
This is now: So I’m throwing 5 stars on this, because I’ve got nothing else to compare it to, and what can I say, I kind of went in tip toeing but ended up running and raced through the pages like someone was chasing me. I really enjoyed this story, and who knows it may not be my last in this genre 🤷♀️ loved all the characters but kind of had a soft spot for our friendly ghost.
I don't even know how to go about writing up this review, all I can say is that I loved our heroine, I was enthralled with her from the start, from watching her go from near death experience to connecting and loving her monsters to exacting revenge on the ones that had everything they deserved dished out to them was just an entertaining unputdownable read..
Thank you so much to the author for this arc. I've loved all of the Courts & Kings books but this one is absolutely my favorite. It was the perfect resolution and this one had my favorite characters and my favorite couple.
Tate and Fang is my favorite couple. Fang has so much trauma and Tate very fiercely defends her from anyone and anything. Fang is the soft but only for her vibes. Tem is definitely my favorite overall character. He has so much love to give and wants to be loved so badly. He deserves only good things truly.
There was spice in spades, all the feelings, and the plot was top freaking tier. Nothing felt rushed or forgotten. It was all just perfect.
Court of Evil is the story of Tate Havelock, she is a hunter and a member of the elite team of a legendary guild that hunts down evil. When she won’t hurt innocent monsters, she is betrayed by her team and left for dead. Tate sets out on a journey of revenge and to root out the evil in the guild. Along the way she finds love and acceptance among the monsters she saves. I loved how this addition to the series featured different monster love interests, each bringing something different to the story There is a fae, tempest, warlock, vampire/machine hybrid, succubus, ghost, and karma reincarnated. Ms. Knight has crafted a phenomenal and magical world with vivid descriptions bringing the pages to life. The fight scenes were epic and so much fun to read with such a bada$$ fmc and all the different skills of her monsters. Tate is one of the strongest and fiercest fmcs with a determination to do what is right even at the cost of her soul. This story has it all: battles, banter, humor, heartbreak, found family, love, and lots of spice.
Thank you to K.A. Knight and WordSmith Publicity for the privilege to read an advanced copy of Court of Evil.

Tate Havelock was born to be a hunter, an elite guild of monster hunters protecting and maintaining balance between humans and monsters. But after their betrayal, Tate sets out to not only survive but to root out all the true monsters from the land.
The battle between evil ensues and Tate puts it all on the line. And it seems the Fates have something planned to help her…
Tropes: 👀Multi POV 🧛🏻♂️Paranormal fantasy romance 💗Why choose 🚫Enemies to lovers 😈Monster x human ⚠️Touch him/her & 💀 🧑🧑🧒🧒Found family 🌶️: high
Listen, I came in late to this series but holy hells, I am *hooked*. I’m living in my #whychoose era and this book gifted me with an absolute BA FMC and an eclectic, lethaI, and devoted group of supernatural love interests. I adored their varied degrees of unhingedness and the way they complete and support Tate. Together, they may stand a chance against the powers working against them.
Packed with thrilling action, spicing spice, and snarky banter, Court of Evil is a wickedly entertaining ride! So grateful to the author for the ARC opportunity. This is my honest and voluntary review.

“Well, aren’t we just a bag of ragtag, broken toys nobody wants.”
this entire world and series has got to be one of my favs by KA Knight ever. when all of the courts came together in the end, my heart burst. i missed all the characters so much and seeing them work together and create a treaty made me so happy. —-also the little to be continued??…NEXT GEN?! say fkn less. i can’t wait
i loved loved loved this book. every character brought something different to the table. this was a badass group of supernaturals that came to love eachother & become a family. i loved it. they made the best team. the character dynamics just worked. through the evil and darkness you see the good in these monsters. they truly all bonded really well and their heartbreaking stories brought them together and healed them. you can feel the connection between them all.
Tate: one of the most badass MCs. she is tough, hardworking, determined, confident, doesn’t take anyone’s shit & is dominant in her field. she has such a big heart but isn’t afraid to kill and get her hands dirty to make sure the world is a safe place for everyone. and i loved getting to see her vulnerable side. she felt safe with her crew & really broke down her barriers with them.
Fang(Isabella): our succubus. she can feed on pleasure & pain. i would worship the ground she walks on. her and Tate i think were one of my favorite bonds in this book. Fang only had a romantic relationship with Tate because of her past experience with men. but Fang brought out such a soft, protective side out of Tate. no one was to fuck with with Fang, even the guys. she was possessive of her. their relationship was so soft and pure but also fiery. i just loved them together. I also loved the friendship Fang had with the guys. she had trust within them and felt safe. i loved it. Shamus: our human. the commander of the Hunters. Tates stalker. he’s been down bad for her since the day he laid eyes on her. he’s the one who really set everything in motion. Ronan: our ghost. he’s been watching over Tate for years without her even knowing. his banter was so much fun. i loved his personality. he knew how to bring light to any situation. Tem: our tempest. our golden retriever. he’s adorable but feisty. i loved how clueless he was and how obsessed he was with Tate. Zeev: our broody fae. i loved him and all his sarcastic moments. Jarek: our warlock. the magic & the things he can do with it?! excuse me sir, you’re coming home with me. Addeus: our vampire hybrid. his strength and intelligence was sexy.
each of these characters brought something unique and i loved seeing them not only one on one with Tate but seeing them come together. they were all so fun and sexy. they would do anything and everything for Tate.

fav quotes: ✨🔪🩸
“A vampyr hybrid, a ghost, a tempest, a succubus, a warlock, a fae, and a hunter . . . Will that be enough for your revenge?”
“It’s all about balance. Most monsters have been hurt and betrayed. They are not born evil; they are made evil.”
“You are filled with a righteous fire that I want to burn in,”
“No matter what, you are my mortal, and I am your Zeev. Only yours. No matter what this world hands you, I will be at your side to lessen the burden and fight with you. Never doubt that.”
“I would carve out my own heart before I let anyone else hurt you. I have and will give my life for yours.”
“One look from you and I’m weak. One word from you and I’m running to your side. My life and blade are yours.”
“But you’ll need your strength—” “I need you alive more,”
“Change is coming, and it starts with us women— queens this time, not kings.”
“This was always my purpose, and now I know a few weeks at your side is not enough. Ten lifetimes will not be enough,”
Court of Evil was a blast! This is a paranormal why choose romance featuring Tate and her unusual band of monster misfits. Tate is one of the most badass FMC’s I have read about in a while. She is tough, determined and dominant in her field. Tate was born and raised to be a hunter. Hunters track down dangerous monsters who are threatening innocent lives. She is called in to become a member of the most elite team of hunters. After establishing herself for years with this team, she feels like she finally has a family she can trust after being alone for so long. When that team betrays her and leaves her for dead, she is forced to turn to the monsters for help. Tate enlists a team of powerful beings to help her get revenge on the people who betrayed her. Her journey will lead us to so many great characters with heartwarming romantic and non romantic relationships. The spice is on fire and can seem heavy at times, but by the end of the book the plot and spice become even and make the story that much more enjoyable. The banter between them is genuinely funny and the found family aspect between all of these very different monsters is so sweet. Court of Evil is book 5 in a series of interconnected standalones. If you enjoy:
☠️ Why Choose ☠️ Monster romance ☠️ Found Family ☠️ Banter ☠️ Blood Thirsty FMC ☠️ Sizzling spice
I definitely recommend Court of Evil. Ronan is one of my new favorite characters of all time. I can’t even count how many times his commentary made me laugh out loud while reading. I had so much fun and could not put it down! Enjoy book friends!
Okay, seriously, what does KA Knight pit between the pages of her books? Because once again, I’m absolutely obsessed! Not a surprise I know, this is everything I could have hoped for and more. It’s a reverse harem (obviously, it’s KA Knight!), but with a delicious twist I did not see coming. I won’t spoil it, but just know, it took the story to another level.
The world-building? Phenomenal. I felt completely transported and immersed in every scene. The plot? Addictive. I couldn’t put the book down and kept saying “just one more chapter” until it was suddenly 2 a.m. And the spice? Whew. Katie does not hold back they are steamy, intense, and full of love in all the right ways!
Every element she put in this book just worked! the pacing, the character dynamics, the dark and gripping atmosphere of hunters and monsters. This book delivered on every front, and now I’m left staring at the wall trying to figure out how I am going to make it until her next book release!
So Katie, if you ever read this review please how do I give you my soul? lol
”Well, aren’t we just a bag of ragtag, broken toys nobody wants.”
This is definitely one of my favorites of the Courts and Kings series… Katie definitely did the damn thing again!! Tate was such an amazing and strong FMC to follow through her journey. I loved her big heart mixed with the understanding that sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to make the world a safer place. She had a conscience and a moral code and she stuck to it, reminding us sometimes other humans are the biggest monsters of them all as she sought her revenge. This ragtag group she forms were some of my favorite monsters! They were all so unique with special bonds to Tate and I loved seeing this found family grow. This is a why choose and I probably can’t order the letters correctly lol but it’s 5 MMC lovers and a single FMC lover for Tate that’s lol she’s adorably protective of. But I think Tem was my favorite, his puppy dog nature was adorable 🤣 of course Katie delivers with the spicy McSpice as usually and it was totally delicious 😉😉😋😋 you’ll see cameos from Althea, Avea, Quinn, Freya, and their guys as well. It was a great wrap up to this series and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!
I don't even know where to start with my review. 'Cause from start to finish this book was one hell of an rollercoaster! Right from the start you'll dive right into the action and it keeps up a good pace througout the whole book. I loved how the whole group fit together so well but were all so different at the same time. And still they all had their own really great strenght to share within the group. You'll feel the love coming of the pages. The banter between the characters had me on the floor laughing sometimes, while at other moments I was on the edge of my seat, flipping pages 'cause I really wanted to know what would happen next!
Really liked where the story was going with the plot, Knight did (again!) an amazing job with this latest part of the Courts & Kings series!
Thank you K. A. Knight and Wordsmith Publicity for this ARC to read and review.
Bad arse, boss babe, Tate, collects monsters like I collect books, and I had so much fun reading about her adding to her harem. She is an incredibly strong woman who is betrayed by those she thought would have her back. After a near death experience , she discovers who her real family is, who would go to the ends of the earth for her and her for them. They have the fight of their lives, while navigating this new family dynamic, and it was lovely watching this bunch of misfits come together in the way they did.
This was a page turner and I really enjoyed where the story took me.
Also, did anyone else have Joey from Friends saying "a ghost!" whilst reading this? The one when he's on the game show?! 🤣
Reading this book was such a WILD ride! I absolutely loved it. Completely addicted. I wanna be Tate when I grow up! 🥹 She’s so FIERCE and strong and knows what she wants. *sigh* All of her monsters have a place with her and they each bring something different to her harem. Together they’re a force to be reckoned with.
If you’re in the mood for a why choose, paranormal/monster romance with found family, delicious spice, hilarious banter, (I’m looking at you Ronan), and a plot worth losing sleep over, go read this book!
Thank you so much to KA Knight and Wordsmith Publicity for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
Definitely enjoyed this more than the last book. Pretty good end to the series (although I am aware they can technically be read in any order). I enjoyed the relationships in this one to a degree, but honestly some of the guys didn’t do it for me, and I kind of clumped them together a few times because I couldn’t be bothered remembering anyone. But overall really good and a pretty decent series!
I have absolutely loved this series and this book was great. I love the strong female characters who all save the day with their offsiders. I’m hoping that there will be another book in the series
I’m honestly confused about all the 5-star ratings this book has. Was it just for the smut? Because even that fell flat for me. There was no emotional connection, just a string of sex scenes with little to no development between characters.
Our female lead, Tate, had a slight emotional connection with Shamus, but even that felt minimal and underdeveloped. The rest of the lovers? Pretty much just bodies filling up a checklist.
Ronan felt more like a loyal friend than a lover. He literally had no romantic or lustful thoughts about Tate, until suddenly—boom—he makes a move and they're having sex. No build-up. No tension. Just... random.
Tem (the Tempest) had potential. He was sweet, devoted, and honestly, deserved better. Tate treated him coldly at first, and even when she finally showed him affection, it was short-lived. After that, he was reduced to a soldier she gave commands to, or someone she had sex with off-page.
Zeev, the fae, started off strong. His relationship with Tate hinted at something deeper, but that spark was completely lost by the end. It just fizzled out.
Addeus might as well have been a background character. Other than sex and a few battle commands, he barely interacted with Tate. There was no chemistry or emotional connection—just a few shallow moments that didn’t go anywhere.
Fang (Isabella), the succubus, brought a surprise FF element. I don’t usually read F/F, but my main issue here wasn’t the pairing—it was the speed of it. Fang loses her brother, has sex with Tate shortly after, and suddenly she’s in love? Trauma who? Tate’s sudden overprotectiveness of her, to the point of almost killing Jarek for touching her, felt overly dramatic and unearned.
Speaking of Jarek... why was he even there? He had maybe two scenes with Tate, both involving sex. No substance, no connection, no presence. He felt like a random hookup, not a core member of her harem.
Overall, this book was just smut with a sprinkle of action and zero heart. If you’re looking for an emotional, slow-burn reverse harem with meaningful relationships—this isn’t it. If you’re just here for shallow group dynamics and disconnected spicy scenes, maybe you’ll enjoy it more than I did. But for me, it was disappointing and forgettable.
Rating: 2/5 – For potential and a couple of interesting characters (Tem and Zeev), but otherwise a miss.

🔔 Court of Evil is the fifth and the final part of the Courts & Kings series, in which every book can be read as a standalone. (I can't believe this series has come to an end. I've been lucky enough to enjoy every part, and this one was definitely no exception).
"Court of Evil" is a dark paranormal romance with a whychoose.
➥Tate was born to be a huntress, and raised to fight. But that all changed when those she trusted had committed the worst possible betrayal. Left for dead, Tate was forced to turn away from humans and seek help from the monsters she hunted. The desire for revenge has erased the boundaries of morality. Tate no longer cares about doubts or remorse — now her only goal is revenge.
Can I just say that I absolutely loved the main character😩 I love strong women, and Tate is definitely one of them. Despite the trials that fell to her fate, she rose up and collected incredibly strong creatures around her (I'm sorry, but there's a real cyborg, a succubus, and even a ghost👀). So yeah, she definitely sticks out to me as a strong badass character.
Her relationship with each monster in her harem is just wow. They are all different, but together they form the perfect balance of power. And I will say this, Tate will do ANYTHING to protect every member of her family.
The plot, as in every book of this series, remains on the high level. And what can I add, this book is the perfect ending for the series. As much as I hate to let go of this universe, I look forward to reading more stories from K.A Knight.
Thank you so much K.A Knight and Courtney Dunham for providing a copy of the book for review!
This is more a way that I can put my thoughts on the book into one place rather than an ‘official’ review.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
I enjoy lots of K.A Knights books. One of my top faves is Den of Vipers which was one of my first when I started reading dark romance a couple of years ago (no K. A book has topped that so far and I’ve read a fair few now!)
Overall this book was okay. I’ve read all the other Courts and Kings books and I haven’t loved a book in the series since I read Court of Nightmares (the first one) which I ate up! This book was definitely the second best, the storyline was better than the others (in my opinion) and I enjoyed the inclusion of the other characters from previous books. Tate as an FMC was okay, I liked her strong personality but tbh not a lot else. My favourite characters were 100% Ronan and Tem. I laughed out loud at this book a few times and I thought the humour was spot on.
I do feel that sometimes the spice just felt somewhat slotted in wherever it would fit and didn’t add anything to the development of their relationships. It was a little bit like insta love as soon as she saved the monsters and then they automatically had sex without anything leading up to it to show that they had an attraction to each other. I do wish the other characters were also together in certain ways (that’s just a personal preference) and I hoped there would be more interaction between the other characters.
I wouldn’t say I would never read it again but I also don’t think I would reach for it. There are definitely quite a few things I would change (obviously I’m not an author and my opinions are just among many others so take from it what you will) It might sound contradictory to say I think this book could’ve been a lot longer to flesh everything out. The other characters didn’t feel developed enough. Some questions and thoughts I had throughout reading:
- why was Shamus reborn? - why was Ronan connected to Shamus but none of the others that died in his group were? - what happened to Tate’s father and why was it so important to her and yet we never found out what happened? - Zeev asked for one night to go through Tate’s head (I can’t remember exactly what the deal was but it was something of this nature) and we never saw it - What was Fang actually there for if not just to provide a sapphic relationship and how did she get over her hate for men so quickly being surrounded by 6 others 24/7? Her trauma was barely mentioned again after she was rescued which I found disappointing. - Jarek definitely did not get enough attention and felt like an afterthought, what was his back story? - In what way was Tate descended from the fae and did her father know? - How was the whole first third of the book about getting revenge on her team for torturing her and then once that happened, it turned into the whole of the hunters?
Overall the book isn’t bad at all. I’ve definitely read worse. I just feel like there could have been a lot done with it that wasn’t (this sounds really harsh but again, it’s just opinions).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Sometimes, it takes evil to fight evil, and before this ends, my soul will be as black as theirs.
For standing up for the innocent. For protecting the young and vulnerable. For believing there is good within a monster's eyes.
You are punished. Betrayed. And left to rot away choking on your blood.
Tate Havelock was well respected and feared within the hunters…only now she is the enemy.
She’s lost, alone, and broken. We are all broken toys. Maybe that’s why we found each other.
With revenge on her mind, Tate will do anything to rid the evil that has infected the hunters who are carrying out unlawful killings on monsters and to do that, well Tate has some unexpected allies. She needs to have a new team, one that will face the hunters that are rotten to the bone and what better way then to track down the very thing they also fear and hunt…Monsters…
However, over the years Tate has made connections within the monsters and with her new intel Tate tracks down a deadly team.
And, even more surprisingly…a team becomes a very close family. Of sexy wickedly dark talents and they want nothing more than to please Tate…in any way possible.
It shouldn’t feel good, but it does, and I just hand myself over to it.
The perfect deadly way to end the Courts & Kings series!
Oh my, I have loved reading these books and this was a brilliant read!
All the emotions from Tate, the detail of what she was going through with her so called ‘elite team’ created the scenes perfectly and you really felt for Tate through it all. Tate really is a survivor and won’t ever give up easily, you see that even as she changes, Tate keeps true to herself and what she believes.
The monsters…Oh my gosh! The kinda monsters you’ll go looking for in the dark with a promise of an unforgettable meeting! They all bounded together really well, with their own heartbreaking stories that brought them all together and heal too you can feel their connections to Tate & each other.
Through all the evil & darkness you see the good within these monsters, I really loved how this story all came together. Then with this being the last book and the key point of ridding the rotten hunters of the world, you also have previous characters coming back in this book forming a whole new alliance.
You do wonder if everything will work out and what could indeed come next for this world…
How far am I willing to go for revenge? For cleansing our people?
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Tate. This is a paranormal why choose romance that is going to have you one the edge of your seat and reading as fast as you can. I am not the biggest paranormal reader there is out there. But I have been hooked on these books from K.A. Knight. This one is so good but I am really struggling to figure out what to say. I don't want to give a thing away. If you are a fan of FMC that are bad to the bone and take no prisoner then you are going to love Tate. When Tate was born she was destined to be a hunter. Her entire life has been dedicated to this and she is one of the baddest and the best. Hunter's are the ones who track down the monsters in the world and keep them from harming humans. She is tasked and becomes a member of one of the most elite teams formed to take on the monsters. She feels like she has finally found her family. A family she has been searching for. She has spent so much time alone in life that it is amazing to finally be surrounded with people she can trust. However, she is betrayed but the other hunters. They leave her for dead and if she is going to survive and seek revenge she is going to need some serious help. She has no choice but to turn to the ones she has been taught to hunt. The monsters. I loved this book. I hated that she was betrayed but it lead her to so many discoveries and true friends and possibly the loves of her life. This book is so good that from the beginning you are sucked into this world and you really never want to leave it. there are so many characters in this book that you are going to adore and love. I loved that this is two totally different worlds colliding and the good that comes out of it for Tate. There is spice in this book that will melt the very kindle you are reading out of your hands. This book is in the Courts of Kinds series. It is the fifth book but it can be read as a standalone. I also highly recommend all the other books too if you haven't already read them. They are equally as amazing. I am hooked and really never want this series to end.
I absolutely enjoyed this book. The story was super fun to read.
Tate is a strong, badass, and protective monster hunter. She works hard, is determined, confident, and doesn’t let anyone push her around. She has a big heart but isn’t scared to fight and get dirty to keep the world safe for everyone. She will do anything to protect the people she loves.🫡
Shamus: our human. the commander of the Hunters. Tate's stalker. he’s been down bad for her since the day he laid eyes on her.🤭
Ronan: our ghost. He has been looking out for Tate for years without her knowing. His jokes were really fun, and I loved his personality.😂👻
Tem: our tempest. He’s cute but a little wild. It was funny how clueless he was and how much he's obsessed with Tate.💗
Zeev: our moody fae. I enjoyed all his sarcastic comments.😉
Jarek: our warlock.
Addeus: our vampire hybrid. His strength and intelligence were really attractive.🦾🧛🏼♂️
And lastly, our cutest and brave girl, Isabella (Fang): our succubus. Fang only had a romantic relationship with Tate because of her past with men. Their relationship was sweet and pure but also fiery. I loved them together. I also liked the friendship Fang had with the guys. She trusted them and felt safe. I loved it.👩🏻❤️💋👩🏻🔥
I loved the banter, the action, the tension, the chemistry, the twisty turns, the vivid world building, and the variety of "monsters". I adored Tate and her monsters: Jarek, Zeev, Addeus, Ronan, Fang, Shamus, and Tem. They all work so well together. I love how protective they are of each other and how they all fit in as a group.💞💯
The writing, pacing, flow, and plot of the story are fantastic, just like the characters, storyline, character growth, and relationships.
And the spice... wow!🥵🫠 I loved the spicy scenes with everyone, but the one between Fang and Tate was something else. It was fiery, passionate, and full of love.❤️🔥🫠
This series is something else. I went into this blind, and not having any idea how this series will be. But i am so glad that i picked this series. This whole series had me in an absolute chokehold, and I can't wait from what comes next.🙌🏻👌🏻

I have been hooked to this series and it’s became one of my favorites. Court of Nightmares was easily my favorite with Court of Heathens coming in 2nd. But, Court of Evil just came in 1st. Katie—you outdid yourself with this one, girl!
My favorite part is when all the courts come together in the end to help each other. I didn’t think my heart could hurt so much, but it did!
Katie really did a good job with the characters in this! Not that she doesn’t always, but I really connected with them, & her writing allowed me to feel like I was there with them.
Every character from this court brought something to the table, something I’ve learned & loved that Katie does with her books.
Tate: Our badass FMC! She’s tough, hardworking & doesn’t take anyone’s shit—but she also has the biggest heart, it is so good to see her vulnerable side with her found family.
Fang: Our succubus—she only had a relationship with Tate because her past with men, but I loved her friendships with all the guys.
Shamus: Our human—the commander of the hunters, setting everything into motion.
Ronan: He’s watched over Tate for years! God bless his heart! And his banter, loved every second of it!
Zeev: His banter & sarcasm is unmatched ✨
Jarek: The things this man does with his magic—I need this warlock to come home with me.
Addeus: This man’s strength, wit & brains was unnerving, but in the “you’re so hot” way.
This story is by far holding a place in my heart forever. It was a masterpiece & I cannot wait to see what else Katie brings to the table.
Thank you Katie and Courtney for allowing me the opportunity to read Court of Evil and to give an honest review in return. You guys are amazing! 🖤
Courts & Kings has hands down become my favorite series by K.A. Knight. The journey with these characters has been so much fun, and Court of Evil just put the cherry on top! This story was action-packed, full of world-building, and spicyyyy! It was incredibly entertaining and kept me on my toes. The monsters were so diverse—I honestly love everything about this book. I’ve concluded that Katie will always have me in a chokehold.
Tate has been a hunter her whole life. She has always hunted evil and known right from wrong. When her team decides that all monsters are evil, she realizes she’s up against everyone, and death seems to be waiting for her. But something keeps her alive, and revenge is all she has left. I cannot express how much I love Tate. She’s such a fierce character and will stop at nothing until all the bad is taken care of. She’s beautiful and, without a doubt, one of my favorite female characters.
Where do I even begin with the love interests? I loved every single one of them. I loved how Shamus set everything in motion. I loved how Ronan had been watching Tate over the years. His banter was so much fun! I loved Zeev and all of his sarcastic comments. Tem was adorable but feisty! Jarek and his magic had me wishing I had a warlock. Addeus’s strength and intelligence were perfection. Last but certainly not least, Fang—I would worship the ground she walks on. I’m a sucker for a succubus, and I loved everything about her. Each of these characters brought something unique to the relationship, and I enjoyed reading their one-on-ones with Tate.
I’ve had so much fun with this series and the monsters that K.A. Knight has created. These stories will always hold a special place in my heart. Spoiler alert... I can’t wait for the next generation. Let’s go, baby!!!
Another amazing story from Katie. I don't know what story is my favourite because they are all so incredible.
Our fmc is Tate. She is a total baddie! Tate is extremely intelligent, a true leader, kind, loyal, and fair. There is something so unique about her that the paranormal can't help but be drawn to.
Our team of "Monsters" are Shamus, Roman, Fang, Zeev, Addeus, Zeev, Jarek, and my personal favourite, Tem. They are all so different, but together, they are such a strong unit and they all grow to mean alot to Tate and Tate will do everything in her power to protect those she cares about whether they are human or not.
The plot was perfect and was so cohesive with the rest of the series. Tate's story came at the perfect time. After what Tate went through, she needs to find the perfect team for what she has to do to restore fairness and equality within their world. In her journey, she meets and forms such strong bonds with all these monsters but not without a lot of suffering and trust esentially. I don't want to say too much because this story is not what I was expecting but makes total sense in this world.
I highly recommend this series, and I can't wait for you to read Tate's story. It's worth it 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you so much, Katie, and your amazing team for the opportunity to read this story. I am extremely blessed to be a part of your ARC team 🙏

🗡 multiple pov 🗡 baddie fmc 🗡 overprotective main characters 🗡 why choose 🗡 overprotective fmc 🗡 lots of spice 🗡 "enemies" to lovers 🗡 golden retriever mmc (love Tem) 🗡 so much more
Court of Evil is the fifth book in the Court and Kings series, and this time it's the Hunters' turn. I really liked the characters. Tate, the MFC, is a fierce and beyond-capable hunter with a pure heart. She doesn't take the easier road, she does what's right. Tate only goes after monsters, supernatural or human, and they soon find out. Tate was cool, but she has her walls up, and it's hard to get past them, but once you do, she's loyal and caring. Just being herself, she pulls the scariest monsters to her side. She started with one, then it snowballed through no prodding. All of them have been hurt by society in one way or another; my heart went out to them. I liked them all, but Tem was my favorite. He had that puppy energy going on. A scary, powerful puppy, but still a puppy. He was adorable!
I really enjoyed a good revenge plot, and I loved every minute of this one from the start. Betrayal, female rage, and monsters—it was perfection. On the road to revenge, some missions started to feel a little bit like a scavenger hunt. A clue during one mission leads her to the next, and so on. Incorporating some of the MMCs while also introducing a few great side characters. It was fun. The motel scene was my favorite. I almost died while eating lunch because Ronan was hilarious. While revenge is and will always be a good plot, this book was about coming together for the greater good.
Courts and Kings was a fabulous series, and Court of Evil just added even more awesomeness. I can't wait to devour whatever Katie has planned next for this world.
Court of Evil by K.A Knight ⭐️⭐️⭐️3.5 stars 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️5 spice
MFFMMMMM Why choose Monster x Human Touch her/ him and die Found Family
Court of Evil is a paranormal why choose romance last of the Courts and Kings series. It is the fifth book in the interconnected standalone series that follows Tate, a badass FMC who was born and raised to be a hunter who tracks down dangerous monsters.
At the beginning, we meet Tate, who has been called to become part of the most elite team of hunters. After being part of this team for years and finally feeling like she has a family of people she can trust, they betray her and leave her for dead after almost killing her. They betray her due to her finding out that they have been killing innocent monsters. This causes her to turn to monsters to help her get her revenge on her team for trying to kill her and the monsters they have been wrongfully killing.
Throughout the book, we meet a bunch of different monsters. We meet Ronan, who is a ghost, Tem a tempest, Zeev a fae, Addeus a vampyr hybrid halfing, Jarek a warlock, Fang a succubus, and Shamus a commander. I did feel that it was almost too many characters to remember, but Ronan was definitely my favorite monster that’s for sure.
I loved the first half of the book until it got to the Fang part. I wasn’t expecting FF, and it’s not something that I enjoy reading. I wasn’t aware when I got the ARC that it was going to have scenes like that. I had to skip those parts, and sadly, it wasn’t a one-time thing. I almost was going to DNF it, but decided that I wanted to finish it. Thank you for the arc, I'm glad I got to read the last book of the series.
Just finished Court of Evil by K. A. Knight and wow, what a ride! This dark fantasy romance completely captivated me from start to finish.
In this thrilling tale, we follow a skilled hunter who's betrayed by her own organization and left for dead. But instead of breaking her, this betrayal sets her on a path of vengeance that leads her straight into the arms of the very monsters she once hunted. The world-building is rich and immersive, seamlessly blending the human realm with a darker, more dangerous supernatural world.
What truly stands out is how K. A. Knight masterfully develops the main character's transformation. We witness her struggling with her moral compass as she navigates between her ingrained beliefs about monsters and the complex reality she discovers. The character growth feels authentic and earned, making her journey all the more compelling.
The romance element is perfectly balanced with the action and revenge plot. There's a delicious tension that builds throughout the story, and the chemistry between characters practically sizzles off the pages. 🔥
The supporting cast is equally well-crafted, each character bringing their own depth and intrigue to the story. I particularly enjoyed how the author plays with the concept of monstrosity - making us question who the real monsters are.
ARC Review This is the last in the Courts & Kings series, I love how all the courts have come together in this series (i haven't read a court of beasts or a court of heathen yet). Even without reading some of the books in the series you still fully understand what's going on. These books definitely can be read as standalone as well as in a series which I love.
In a Court of Evil, the character development is amazing, and how everyone gets along together. I do have two characters that I love the most, which are Tem and Ronan. The sassy vibes from Ronan i love, and the lost little puppy vibes from Tem, when his presence is nothing like that just makes me love him even more.
This is my first proper Monster trobe (Katie is getting a lot of my firsts in tropes) and I loved every minute of it. It did also have my first FF trobe, mixed feelings on this (hey i can't love every trope), but it didn't take anything away from the book, and the story line. I think the build up and the trust on this side of the trobe, the spicy parts in 50/50 don't hate but not love them. I think i need to try more books in this trobe. (hint hint katie i need more of these tropes)
But honestly this book ended the series really well, no cliffhangers but space for more you get the feeling Katie is not done with this world, and she has a lot more planned for it. And i can't wait to see this.
This is the fifth book in the Courts and Kings series and what an epic journey to bring the series to a close. Ms. Knight saved the best for last with this cast of characters and I have a new favorite. I will caution those with triggers to proceed with care as this book starts off with a bang and the plot just grows from there with a plethora of twists and turns that have the pages moving faster than the speed of light. Tate is a female hunter brought up to believe that her mission is just until members of her team cross a line that has her setting off on a new path. Along the way, she comes into contact with, Tem, Shamus, Roman, Addeus, Jarek and Fang, other monsters that are together to set things right and are willing to help Tate get the revenge she seeks. The storyline is a perfect blend of dark with sprinkled witty prose that will have one laughing out loud. The world building is fantastic and watching the relationships grow and unfold will have any reader on the edge of his/her seat. You may have flashbacks to a mix of The Wizard of Oz meets Robin Hood and his band of merry men as the chapters progress. Overall, the banter is on point and the words flow brilliantly. If you are looking for your next read, then I suggest picking up this one and prepare to while away the hours until complete.
