I escaped the Haven Institute only to fall into a darker hell. Two years of drug-induced heats. Experiments that tore my body apart. And Senator Hardwick’s sick obsession, who wanted to bleed me dry in the name of control.
Now I'm on the run again—with a scent-matched pack of lethal alphas I never asked for. Ronan, Gabriel, and Jax are everything I was taught to dangerous, dominant, and built to break me.
But they don’t chain me. They don’t force me. They call me Kitten, Sweetheart, Sunshine… like I’m something precious And when I flinch from touch, they back off. When I burn with a chemically induced heat, they fight to hold me—never to claim. They treat my broken body like it’s worth saving. My scars like they’re sacred.
Still, I don’t trust easy. Not when alphas have only ever hurt me. Not when my biology will betray me again.
But secrets never stay buried—especially mine. I was never just a test subject. I’m the key to a vaccine…or a weapon. And the monsters who made me will do anything to get me back.
Now I must decide, Keep running, or trust the alphas who tore down the walls of my prison… and are willing to bleed to keep me free.
Because I’m not sure I can survive being ruined again.

In this installment of an interconnected series but acceptable as a standalone, omega Leah was terribly ill-treated at the same time as the others who were caught trying to run away. While the others escaped their captors with the help of their packs, Leah was lost for a longer period of time. When the rescuers get to her, her mates instantly recognize her as theirs and are determined to help her heal. Pretty straight forward, one would think, but fair warning, these aren’t shifters, the canon is omegaverse, so the trauma depicted is all too real.
As with the previous books, it’s a drawn out, intense ordeal omega Leah endures, even after finding her pack. I don’t think I’ll be reading any more of these as it’s just not my cup of tea. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
I received an ARC from the author, and I’m sharing my honest review.
DNF @ 36% All the things I hate about bad OV books in this one. Super repetitive, calling each other by designations/nicknames instead of their actual names, no one has a personality, way too much focus on how horny they are for her when she's been traumatized as hell and looks it (the woman is covered in wounds and emaciated). I love a good "learning to trust again after trauma" story, but this ain't it.
I was so looking forward to this book as I devoured the first two but this one just lacked something.
It’s a long book, nearly 400 pages, yet only around 150 of those pages felt like it moved the story forward. The first 10% has some real plot, then the plot keeps circling around and around in the same exact way until around 75%. I also thought that in 400 pages we would get to see some systemic change that the society was making in the wake of what happened in the first 2 books, yet there was seemingly nothing that has changed despite time passing.
Also when reading I could not tell the MMCs apart, their prose was almost identical to each other. Even Gabriel, who had the biggest personality difference from the other two, was written almost exactly like the others.
I want to see how this society adapts and changes with knowledge of what was happening under their noses, but I can’t read another book where all we get is endless pages of nearly identical scenes and an unsatisfying ending.
As others have said this book was long, and honestly pretty boring. Not to mention so much is recycled from the first two books - including some of the MMCs scents - and how one of the villains ☠️
I’d really rather had more scenes showing some of the things like the speech at the end vs the same bedroom scenes over and over.
I’d love to read Aubrey’s story but the books are too formulaic.
So… I love this series. From the first through this one I have loved the stories… I would have given this one five stars too but one thing ruined it for me. To the point that I almost stopped reading the book. But I’m invested in this universe and am determined to read all the books and this one did not disappoint in the end and I’m glad I finished it but I still am bothered by this and I have stopped reading a book because of the exact same issue before this and it bothers me to no end and I can’t even tell you why. But when you take an omegas virginity using a dildo it really really bothers me. She wasn’t even ever raped. She just wants to be free. And it makes no sense to me that an omega does not feel rejected when you refuse to give her your knot during an horrible heat, all because of not wanting to take advantage of her. When she has been forced into heat after heat with never getting any relief ever… it just bothers me and this is not the first time. Also, she can give a blow job but she can’t take a know? Are you for real? The first book I read something almost the same was by a different author but these omegas were not raped. In Chain Me Knot she was raped for years she went through being forced. And they didn’t refuse her anything. This was so frustrating to me. Who wants to lose their virginity to a dildo? And she is literally giving one of the alphas a blow job while the other one uses a dildo to take her virginity because she needs a knot and they won’t give her theirs apparently. It’s sweet until it isn’t, the refusing to help an omega in heat because they know what’s best for her. Like it’s is literally her choice how she should lose her virginity and they took that choice and chose for her. And she didn’t care? Really. It does not go with the storyline at all. Isn’t that the opposite of what she wants? She is literally asking them for knots and her omega is part of her regardless of how damages her and her omega are. Is this about her or about the alphas? They literally are talking to her as if the alphas using the dildo is actually giving her his knot too. It’s annoying, it made it even worse and harder to get through the scene. Yeah. I still gave the book four stars but this one would have been the best of the books if it wasn’t for this. But it did move the story forward and we learn so much. My rating is about so much more than just this scene. But it frustrates me and I hope authors stop writing scenes like this. It was so hard for me to get pst it.

I'm really loving this series- and when this started out, I thought this might be my favorite of the batch. Definitely the most damaged omega yet, but she isn't super hesitant or meek either, she's got a bit of spine and bite from the start. But she's also super broken. and I loved her being paired with the most scary pack of alphas yet. They are so down bad for her and I loved it so hard. I also loved that even though she has some mental (and physical) trauma, it isn't a slower burn. Given the smart plot set up, they are kind of forced to get physical faster. So had both higher spice + traumatized omega which is my sweet spot.
It did kind of drag in the middle though and start to feel a bit repetitive. AS with the other books, there is a LOT of internal POV. Charmaine is a very meta writer, which is fine for me usually, but in the middle it felt like the characters thinking the same things over and over. BUT, just when I was feeling antsy there was a good plot jolt and a pivot. Like the prior books I also felt the ending felt a bit fast, just a lot of action happening at the end.
This is definitely my favorite pack of heroes from the series so far- I love love love a downbad group of scary guys. Super nervous about the next in the series- that level of trauma is going to be hard, but anxious for that character to find safety and an HEA and glad the series is continuing on!
This story is absolutely amazing. Leah is a broken Omega from Haven where her sisters by choice had escaped. Hardwick kept her and brutally broke her until the glorious day Leah's scent matched Alpha mate's found her and saved her. It was heartbreaking and also heartwarming to experience her healing journey with Ronan, Gabriel, and Jax. They were so patient and loving with her. Helping her work through her trauma and the brainwashing the people at Haven put her through. Her healing won't happen overnight but they are there to support her and show her love and support for the rest of their lives. Plus she was finally reunited with Emma and Mira her sister's by choice that never stopped looking for her with hope of being reunited with her again. Charmaine is a wonderful author. I highly recommend this book and this series. It's best to read from book 1 to understand the whole story because they intertwine together. Please check TW before reading.
I stumbled upon this series a while back and got swept into a world where omegas are treated as the weakest link and evil and torment lurk around so many corners. Each story was heart-wrenching as we followed a different omega rise above the ruins and heal and find love.
I knew Leah’s story would be so heartbreaking. So much torment and trauma was all that she has known for so long. When 3 alphas save her and claim her as theirs it becomes a long journey of trust, healing and so much love.
There are dark themes of abuse and trauma but beyond that is a story of hope and healing. I loved the patience that Ronan, Jax and Gabriel. They had so much love in their hearts to give and it was always unconditional.
While Leah found her happiness, evil still lurks in the shadows. I’m excited that we will get to see Aubrey heal as well as see Espie find happiness too.
I really thought this series started out dark, but it has only gotten darker with each book! Leah is made of something else - to still have such fire after the absolutely horrible things she has had to endure? Unbelievable and admirable, to say the least. Leah's life experiences aside, Ruin Me Knot has even more danger and angst than we've seen so far in the series, which will have your heart pounding and have you perpetually perched on the edge of your seat! As we've seen with each book, there's always a little bit of justice and vengeance, but of course, there's still another book, so some unresolved threads remain. I cannot wait to get the next book in this series! You're going to love this is you love omegaverse romances filled to the brim with hurt/comfort and scent matches and pack of Alphas that will do literally anything for the betterment of their Omega.
Beautifully written ,balanced and with an outstanding emotional depht ! After Emma and Mira, finally Leah is rescued from years of abuse by three caring and protective alphas and their journey to heal her body and soul. Outstanding the sensivity of the author in portraying the struggles of a omega ,forced to dissociate to survive the vile abuses and experiments. Don't want to give away to much and spoil the fun but something good will come from all the experiments. And the three omegas, supported by their mates turn the table and create a better futur for them and others that still suffer.
I liked Leah’s story as all the other omegas in the previous book the story is about an tortured omega that is saved by her sent matches but it take a lot of work before they can bring her walls that were put up down. Through all of it they stayed patient with her knowing how trauma works and the my gave her exactly what she needed to get her self back. Through it all they fought for her and destroyed who ever tried to take what’s there’s . I cant wait to read Aubrey’s story
Im not sure what happened with this book. I read the first two in the series and enjoyed them. This one was a struggle to get through. It started quick and with promise, and quickly devolved into the longest, most repetitive and boring description of a brief moment in time for the characters. I kept thinking it would get better, but finally gave up just before 50% when we were still stuck in the same 1-2 day time period of repetition. I’m a bit stumped on the snail-paced plot here.
This was such a deep book. There were so many different things that were happening in this book. It was so emotional and the pain that she goes through is so much that only a strong person could manage to go through it. She has so much support from the guys it’s beautiful. They love and support her so much and it’s amazing. It was hard because at times I wanted her to just trust the guys and want their support. But I understand it was important for the story to have her go through all the feelings and understand why she feels that way. Seeing her and her omega side come together was really hard but again so important to the story. I am so interested in Aubrey’s story and how he can find his love.
A fantasy why choose. RH is definitely one of my favs. I wouldn't say dark but it you triggered easily then take a quick look at her trigger list. Again not "dark" but definitely intense in places. The broken and the Fixers. A battle of trust, if wills and danger. A key lost. To stay lost? To chance a life if love and passion? Didn't read the before books probably should have. But still great story.
I am so glad the Girls are finally back together. My heart broke for Leah she was so fractured, little by little , Ronan, Gabriel and Jax eased Her split omega enough for Leah to realise that she was home and worthy of Love. HEA, Multi Pov, Forced Heat, medical Trauma and abuse, physical and Mental, please TW check. Spice and and amazing Ongoing plot. I can't wait For Epsie and Aubrey's story next.
There's so much about this author's stuff I really love. She has some neat ideas and she often grapples with the metaphysical, which is a relief in a world so ruled by materialism. But the characters are shallow and the sex gets outright tiresome. I'm thinking she may be like Jayne Ann Krentz -- I'll keep coming back, but there's only so many of her books I can read in a row before the flaws overwhelm the enjoyment.
This is more complex story that’s the previous in the series. The story is still there, with a happily ever after that we all want, but threaded between this is a discussion about the impact of trauma, how it impacts with peoples reality at the potential challenges in any relationship. It is a heartbreaking journey, but we’re worth the read
The third book in this series was truly the breakthrough book. The first two set the stage for what is about to come to fruition. This book draws you in and you feel all the emotional anguish of Leah and d the other omegas. Looking forward to finding out what happens with Aubrey, he is the most tortured soul yet. Great series.
This book I liked more. It gave more than the other 2. I like them but the guys never really asked her opinion. THIS book kept asking her opinion, saying it was her choice. She kept making choices rather than having the others choose for her. They were very patient with her reassuring her its her decision.
This was a rough and amazing read. Leah’s story is one of raw survival becoming true safety, a journey where the right hands do not just hold you but help you rebuild. Her alphas patience and love, the healing and the acceptance of love was amazing. And I enjoyed all these characters.
Trauma, healing, and the in between. Caring Alphas, reunited friends and a journey of justice can all be found here. I absolutely can't wait for the next book in the series!
I love her How strong this leading lady is down on every page. I love the take on this that the page and accuse was so bad that she was two separate ones, and the omega was the one to blame. I'm glad in tbr end that she got her HEA
Leah needed to relearn what is means to be an omega in the omegaverse novel. The pain and torture can only be helped from the alphas who are her scent matches.
