Just a short, fun little adventure. The Godzilla POV chapters were a surprise and I'm not sure how I felt about them.

It has a perfect blend of Showa/Heisei era Godzilla, plus the spotlight on the bug brand of kaiju, including an original monster never before seen, was a refreshing treat.

I first discovered this book existed back in 2000, when the internet was still dial-up, and I was JUST getting into Godzilla. I looked EVERYWHERE for this thing; Borders, the public library, the school library, the two different bookstores that USED to be in the mall.. no one had it. Fast forward to 04/20/2018; I'm in a second-hand store, and BAM; there it is.

Overall, the book was alright. Being a children's book, the author (who is no Troy Denning, like Goodreads says it is) was careful to not make Godzilla too... Godzilla-ish. He's more in line with Showa-Era Godzilla... late Showa-Era Godzilla. A little goofy, a smidge over-the-top ridiculous... but overall, not the worst Godzilla story I've ever seen. If you're a hardcore Godzilla fan, you'll probably enjoy this. My inner-8-year-old self was EXSTATIC to finally be reading this. Casual Godzilla fans and non-fans... will likely hate this... a lot.

Fun story, but feels too much like Showa era movies (especially All Mosters Attack).

Scenes from Godzilla's point of view were surprise, which drove move that 60's era even more.
