Mr. Burrows has written another volume that contains a huge amount of material. He presents it in small bullet points. He explains the theaters and the mix of naval, air and land. I read a lot of WWII and there were things to learn. I received an ARC and I am leaving a review voluntarily.

This series of books is an excellent way to introduce WW2 into students classes. They are well researched and greatly highlighted each individual battle and event within the war. I have found something in every single one that has been a new highlight to me. Not just covering the main events but many of the smaller and lesser known.

My first impression was it was a good book but the further I got into it the more I loved it. It not only addressed the Pacific but the fall of colonialism in the Pacific after the war. It addresses soldiers who were known for their valor. The costs of the war and where the Japanese went wrong. It also opened my eyes to how brutally the Japanese fought. I knew they about the komakozie before but didn't realize how brutal the pacific was. It goes over briefly each major battle. Plus more. It made me realize more on the why of the atomic bombs (not that I agree)

I liked the easy to read text. With concise wording.

It is not an exhaustive book but a very good start on the pacific. I now understand my great uncles letters home a bit better. He was a sailor in the navy in the pacific in WW2.

There aren't enough stars to give for this outstanding, readable tour through the battles, circumstances, and personalities of the Pacific theater during World War II. The author gives an understandable point-by-point analysis that, unlike most textbooks, is so engaging that there's a danger of not being able to stop reading until the last page is turned. For anyone interested in one of the most dangerous periods in history (and if you're not interested, you should be—our lives were shaped by it), this is a must-buy. As the author of a novel set aboard an aircraft carrier during World War II, I regret I didn't have this riveting book in hand as I did my research. Mr. Burrows has written several books on the subject, many of which I intend to purchase. Kudos and high praise to author James Burrows.

I'm voluntarily leaving a review after receiving a free copy. I found it to be well written and containing lots of information. It helped me to understand the Pacific war better than the surface facts I had heard of before.
