Jokes aside, my emotions are all over the place when it comes to Wind Breaker's Vol. 19. I knew what I would see - a continuation of a bloody fight between Sakura and Endo, that I knew would cause a river of tears falling from my eyes with every punch my boy Sakura would be receiving. What I didn't know was how deeply conflicted I would feel in the end about the character of Yamato Endo. He played the role of a villain perfectly, to the core, so much so that it didn't left room for anything else. All until the end when I found myself feeling sorry for the guy.
I. A certificated villain hater. How could it happen? 😧
But before I will dive into a talk about Endo, let's focus a little on Sakura, because this boy went through so much in this volume.
I'll never find a place like this again. I want to stay here. [Sakura]
I cried so hard while reading this volume, because of all the physical and mental pain that Sakura had to endure during his fight with Endo. He's just a kid. I know that he had "awakened". I know that he's strong. Terrifyingly so. But nothing's changing the fact that he's still a kid, a first-year who had been handed a task that's supposed to be impossible. He looked so incredibly young and vulnerable while struggling in Endo's clutches that I wanted to scream, and cry, and beg for someone to come and help. All he wanted was to protect the people he learned to love and care for, and all Endo wanted was to break his resolve.
And the bastard nearly succeeded.
"Everyone... left it up to me. You were all depending on me... But because I'm so weak... Furin... everyone's going to suffer..." [Sakura]
The more Sakura were closer and closer to the state of giving up, the closer my heart was to breaking apart. It was so painful to see his eyes, usually so bright, filling with desperation. He was struggling so hard, not just against Endo's strong grip, but mostly against Endo's masterful manipulations. He was fighting for the sake of others and for the sake of others he was ready to give up.
And Endo knew this.
"How can you losing mean that Furin loses too?! It's not over yet. Not when we are still standing!!" [Nirei]
It was obvious that the cavalry will show up at some point, and that the good will win against the evil, as always, but still, even while knowing this, the amount of relief I felt when I saw the protectors team is something hard to describe. It was like I was crushed down by an enormous weight and that weight was suddenly lifted, and I could breathe again.
The cavalry wasn't needed to take Sakura away from the fight, it was needed to wake him up and bring back the confidence that he had lost due to Endo's sneaky manipulations. These guys were vibrating with worry for Sakura's state, but also put so much trust and belief in Sakura, it warmed me all over from outside to inside. They knew how strong their friend is, and how independent, always trying to take on all of the burdens alone. All they wanted was for Sakura to let them in, to share the weight of the burdens with them.
This boy is so cared for and loved, it makes me want to cry with joy 😭
P.S. You can say what you want, but Nirei's the true MVP!! Also, Togame's fond eyes and smile while looking at Sakura? Priceless.
If I won, then those eyes would close. But I wanted to bathe in these piercing eyes. I wanted to submerge myself in those sharp emotions that feel like they're shredding me apart. Which means... I can never win against him. [Endo]
First Togame, now Endo. I swear, Sakura's collecting men like pokémons 😂
Jokes aside, I never thought I will find myself sorry for Endo's character and I never expected to feel the need for him and Sakura to not lose contact with each other. Crazy, right?! I can't believe I'm saying this. Endo's looked like a mix of a snake and a devil. An absolute evilness that did his best to drown Sakura in lies and insecurities, to break his mind apart so he could take him and keep him for his own entertainment. I wanted him to lose and to leave, as far from Sakura and Furin as possible. But then... then Endo let go and things changed abruptly. I found myself liking Endo's and Sakura's interactions, and wanting more. I'm still wary of him, but it looks like all he wants is to keep on talking with Sakura. It doesn't seem like something harmful, in the contrary - it seems like something that helps both Endo and Sakura. Maybe they needed to meet to influence one another to change for the better.
Anyways, guys Sakura's just found another strong bodyguard to guide his back, how could I complain?! 😆
"It's just like we thought. He's back to his old self. There's nothing I and of course you can do about it anymore. Let's just watch, right in these perfect front-row seats, and admire how this final climax will play out." [Endo]
Sakura vs Endo fight has ended, but there is another fight - the last one - that's still ongoing. It's Umemiya vs Takiishi. Sakura and Endo arrived to the place of the battle. Endo's crying out of joy while seeing Takiishi, but Sakura's horrified.
I'm horrified too, because wtf, Umemiya?!?! 😨 Where did you go, my love, come back! Your siblings need you!! 😭
The volume ended up in such a moment that I think no one will blame me for jumping to the next one right away. I need to see Umemiya being saved. Not from Takiishi, no - it looks like he needs to be saved from himself 😭

What a great arc it was 😭 the rollercoaster of emotions i went through (rage, anger, pain, sorrow, amazement, inspiring, love, support, braveness and Understanding)
it takes 146 chapters until sugishita finally talked that much :") nirei even wanna fight endo if sakura hadn't catch his sense yet. this group of furin high schoolers have better attitudes than these men around us
Ahhhhhh Sakura's face looks so much lighter now, so soft so calm and so adorable even with blood smeared all over his face. like he's finally relieved and able to speak more honestly I'm so happy for him AAA!!
Nirei is so wholesome. I love him so much. He's like Bofurin's little hamster. Especially when he hugged Sakura's leg awwn he wasn't letting him go so sweet.
The part where endo said he fell for Sakura hard & Sakura literally took it seriously was so funny 🤣 . Endo made takishi sounds like a guy who never moved on from his ex while currently being in a relationship with him. Endo's obsession with takiishi is both cute and sad plus kinda concerning (Y'ALL NEED THERAPY)
Oh Umemiya you're such a great character I've came across with :( Man I love how Ume just lays down next to him. He listened with his fists, now he's ready to listen with his ears.
The part where takiishi called Endo by his full name and especially his reaction PLS IT WAS BL CODED but he finally noticed endo happy for them.

No puedo creer que en solo una hora me devoré el tomo 19 de Wind Breaker. ¡Fue como un suspiro! Me hizo tan feliz regresar a estos personajes que tanto quiero. La historia había quedado en un punto muy tenso, y esa tensión continúa en este tomo, pero ya se siente como si el final estuviera cerca. Honestamente, no sé cuánto más se pueda extender la historia, porque este arco parece muy conclusivo. Quizá falta explorar un poco más sobre la vida de algunos personajes secundarios, pero no estoy segura si eso lograría mantener el interés y el ritmo. Solo espero que le den un buen final que se mantenga fiel a la esencia de todo lo que Wind Breaker ha sido hasta ahora.

I’m so so glad Nirei, Suo, Sugi, Togame and Hiragi came to Sakura in time before Endo managed to force him to give himself up BECAUSE I WOULD BE DEVASTATED AND WOULD END EVERYTHING 😭💔💔 when Nirei bawled, I bawled!!! My kokoro is hurt because they’re all too precious and did not deserve these stupidities from stupid Endo 😭😭

Endo yo te amo pero te merecías todos los golpes que te ha dado Sakura JAHSJAJDJAJDJAJSJ me ha encantado cómo han animado tantísimo a Sakura los demás😭😭 por desgracia creo que este arco se va acercando a su final porque lit empezó la pelea entre Umemiya y Takiishi, y siendo ellos los líderes de cada grupo pues me da que en 1-2 volúmenes se termina este arco tan increíble

Primero que todo, las portadas de éstos últimos capítulos son espectaculares.
Luego, vuelvo q manifestar todo mi aprecio por Hiragi y Togame. ES QUE AY LOA AMO DE VERDAD.
Me ha parecido super bonito que Suo y Nirei hayan estado tanto por Sakura cuando se ha venido abajo. Y CUANDO SUGISHITA LO HA ANIMADO TANTO 😭😭😭😭.
La verdad, aunque Endo lleva siendo un enemigo desde prácticamente el capítulo 50 (más o menos, no me acuerdo bien del número jajsjaj), me ha caído super bien. Aunque no entiendo mucho su perspectiva, creo que es un personaje al que se le puede coger cariño. Y la verdad es que la ha liado muchísimo, pero igualmente su presencia me hace gracia por las cosas que dice y hace AJSHJAHS. Me encantaría ver una amistad entre Endo y Sakura, como la que tiene éste con Togame tras la pelea.
Luego… La pelea entre Takiishi y Ume.. Literal Umemiya me ha dado miedo. Creo que estoy demasiado acostumbrada a verlo con una sonrisa y su carácter amable, que se me olvida que es el más fuerte de Furin.

Thank you, Nirei, as the representive me as reader to told Sakura that he is enough, he did the best, he is not alone anymore. He has friends. He has furin. He has Nirei, Suo, Sugishita, and others. That's what friends are for.
Sakura vs Endo made my heart beated faster like driving in fast and furious movie(s) and riding the rollercoaster. So intense!! So burning out!!
Ps. After the battle, the ambience being lovely and funny when Tsubakino tried to kiss Sakura, haha. He loves Sakura so much—but still Ume is the first one.

my stomach was hurting so much reading this bc i wasnt sure if im going to like what was going to happen next and ykw im glad I read it through bc I was so happy to see sakura winning😭 I mean i love endo but i can see a friendship forming between them and the last part?? when ume was laying down next to takiishi🥹 he knew that no matter what he cares abt him even when they did him wrong. this shit is so good omg like. i love the mental battle has to go thru vs endo and how it almost worked but then the people who care about him the most show up and then endo and sakura have just a wonderful battle. the passion within the fight and within these two characters is just. UGH. MWAH. I LOVE THIS MANGA SO MUCH AND I LOVE MY LITTLE BLUSH KING SAKURA. and now we go to umemiya
