💻If you follow me on social media, you probably know that Guillaume Musso is an exceptional writer for me. I've read all his amazing novels. Every author has his writing style, and Guillaume Musso is no exception. However, staying faithful to his style, he manages to create stories that differ, mature, and vary with every single year.
🌝The Plot: Here, in this novel, we follow numerous different perspectives. A wealthy Italian publisher, Oriana Di Pietro, is attacked on her yacht. After a while, she passes away, leaving behind a ton of questions, riddles, and mystery. So, we follow Oriana Di Pietro's perspective, Adrien’s point of view – the husband of the victim, Adele’s version – his young mistress, and Justine’s version of the events , a detective charged with investigating the mysterious murder of the well-known Italian publisher.
✍🏼The Writing Style: All the books by Guillaume Musso are gems. This one is not an exception. This intense psychological crime thriller is twisty and totally unputdownable. If not distractions, I would definitely read it in one sitting. This cleverly written novel possesses the charm of elegant, clean French romance, the burst of Italian emotional spirit, and a well-thought, intriguing, and captivating investigation line. It's mostly written at a fast pace, with only a few pages containing philosophical musings that slow it down slightly.
🌚The Characters: There are a lot of characters in this brilliant novel. But you won't get lost! On the contrary, as Guillaume Musso is a master of well-developed characters, you'll enjoy meeting them. All of the characters are multilayered, well-portrayed in all aspects, and possess a lot of intriguing secrets.
🤭Fave quote: "The world is divided into two: those who have children and those who don't." (My version of the translation as I read the French version.)
🤗Would I read other books by this author? Absolutely yes!
🌟My humble rating is: 5/5
🌚P.S. Guillaume Musso is one of my auto-buy and favorite writers, so my opinion could be biased a bit. But still, I savored every single chapter of this novel and truly hope you'll enjoy it as well. This book grabbed me from the first chapters and didn't let me go until the final ones.
📖I do hope you'll enjoy reading the other books by Guillaume Musso as much as I did!
🙏🏼Anyway, thank you for dropping by and reading the post that I created with the deepest love and care!
📖Stay safe, take care, and happy reading!
