Noelle Morene was always an excellent example to the people around her until she realized that her life was nothing else but a monotonous circle. She made a mistake. Alec Hayward - the best detective in the whole city, couldn't let one thing go unnoticed. Yet, he made a mistake, too. They both lived next door to each other. Daily arguments were boiling in the building without a chance for a peace settlement. Until one day, Noelle got into Hayward's zone. She sat in the interrogation room, and on the other side of the table, she saw no one else but her worst neighbor, Alec Hayward.
I saw it on TikTok and honestly thought why not try it? TW: Death, Blood, SA. WITHOUT SPOILERS!!! It's a romance book mixed with crime and mystery. Enemies to lovers trope 🫠😏 (it's a slow burn, I think it's worth mentioning that). I can definitely relate to Noelle, but she gets annoying at some point because she has low self-esteem. That's a thing in romance books, of course. As for the main love interest, Alec, I'm just in love. I mean another fictional husband? Sign me up. 🥵 The reason why I give this book 5 stars is that it has my favorite situations in it. Like the typical hating on each other situation. Him showing his extra loving side. I would love to say more but I don't want to spoil it 🫡.
"You're more than just a beautiful body. You're worth more than a meaningless hookup." So she thinks he hates her? 🙃 Give me one of these haters.
You're telling me that there are still books where men genuinely yearn and love without it being only lust? *I'm jk, I know there are, they’re just hard to find.*
My friend told me—no, insisted—that I read books that did not yet have the already created "hype" or "opinion," that I had to read a book and sit on my own and let it sink in. What had I just read? Did I like it? The answer is YES. I LOVED IT. SO SO SO weird, maybe I’m just blaming all those hyped up books that feel like middle schoolers wrote them in the middle of the night. Honestly, I thought this would be another badly written Wattpad story, but damn, this book surprised me. I NEEDED exactly this. The serious but fun kind of book. The "I hate you" kind of energy but also "I want you."
I'm not saying it's perfect, some parts just didn't connect with me. Noelle as a character is chaotic, and if I were Alec, I would have lost my patience.
IN VERY SHORT, it had me giggling and kicking.🩵 ⚠️ Closed-door romance. High tension, low spice.
I cant even finish this book it so cringy! The story line has so much potential but the writing is so bad that it ruined everything. Such a waste of money!
