A second anthology of paranormal humor in the same vein as the first Strangely Funny. Twenty-one talented authors have gathered round to apply a mallet to your funny bone. In this tomb--er, tome, many questions will be answered: Who is the newest sensation in Young Adult romance stories? What happens when a centuries-old wizard becomes the target of a hoarding intervention? Where does a vampire go to get a good drink? And what is the favorite sport in Heaven? The answers to these and many other rhetorical questions lie within these pages.
Sarah E. Glenn has a B.S. in Journalism, which is a great degree for the dilettante she is. Later on, she did a stint as a graduate student in classical languages. She didn’t get the degree, but she’s great with crosswords. Her most interesting job was working the reports desk for the police department in Lexington, Kentucky, where she learned that criminals really are dumb.
Her great-great aunt served as a nurse in WWI, and was injured by poison gas during the fighting. A hundred years later, this would inspire Sarah to write stories Aunt Dess would probably not approve of. She is co-author of the Three Snowbirds mysteries with Gwen Mayo.
Sarah belongs to Sisters in Crime, the Short Mystery Fiction Society, and the Historical Novel Society. She lives in Safety Harbor, Florida.
This is a 4 1/2 stars read. Each story has its own quirks. Liked mixture of authors. Easy to carry along for reading breaks in the day. Gives a glimpse into authors one may wish to follow or avoid depending on taste. Received as winner from Goodreads which does not influence my review. recd 9/16/2014
Great! Hilarious! EPIC! I can't say enough positive things about this book. I would have never thought of these stories myself. Totally off the wall and stuck to the ceiling! Especially loved the witch with the hoarding issue.
Just finished short story "Dead People, Seriously" by F.R.Michaels in the collection 'Strangely Funny II.'
Author F.R.Michaels delivers a horribly amusing tale with several surprising twists. I see dead people in this weaving of good and evil. This story satisfied my cravings for the macabre and tickled my funny bone. My attention was buried deep in this grave story. I was left with faith, restored. I love all Michaels' work, and this is a great example.
