After reading so much fantasy lately, this was exactly the kind of break I needed.
Fast-paced, funny, ridiculously spicy, and honestly just easy to get into from the beginning.
I wasn’t sitting there trying to understand kingdoms or magic systems for once. I was just here for vibes, tension, and a hot chef with a filthy mouth. And honestly, that worked for me.
For the first half especially, I was completely invested. I was giggling, gasping, kicking my feet a little… the whole experience.

Cassie gets hired as a nanny for Aiden Reid, a single dad and chef, only to realize he’s the guy who used to subscribe to her OnlyFans.
Which already sounds messy, and it is. But in the most entertaining way possible.
The tension between them starts immediately, and because they already have that history, every interaction feels charged from the start.
There’s always this feeling that they’re one conversation away from completely losing control.
And when they finally do???
Yeah. Lana Ferguson absolutely knew what she was doing.

I really liked her.
She felt relatable and easy to connect with, especially because she doesn’t try to act perfect all the time.
She’s funny, self-aware, caring, and honestly just trying to figure things out while living in a house with a man who looks like that. Which is understandable.
I also loved her random Snapple-fact obsession because it gave her such a specific little charm.
★ “Did you know that on average, women’s hearts beat faster than men’s?” ★
And THIS man replies with:
★ “Snapple just hasn’t ever heard mine when I’m touching you.” ★
Also, Wanda was SUCH a good side character. Every scene with her made the book even more fun.

Now let’s discuss the actual problem here.
This man.
Aiden Reid is hot in the most unfair way possible.
A chef. A single dad. One green eye and one brown eye.
Actually insane character design.
And somehow he still manages to be sweet with Sophie while saying the most out-of-pocket things imaginable five minutes later.
★ “Fuck the dress,” he growls. “I want Cassie. Just Cassie.” ★
SIR PLEASE.
There were genuinely moments where I had to stop reading for a second because this man would say something and I’d just sit there staring at the page.

The chemistry carried this book so hard for me.
The tension in the beginning was SO good because it actually builds instead of immediately throwing everything at you.
The teasing, the looks, the banter, all of it worked.
And when things finally exploded between them, I was fully seated for it.
I do think the second half leaned a little too heavily into the spice sometimes, especially when I wanted a few more emotional conversations mixed in there.
I think this is also where my rating dropped a little.
Because after a certain point, I wanted more communication between them instead of constantly jumping into another spicy scene.
Like every time they were about to have an important conversation, it somehow turned into:
— intense eye contact
— heavy breathing
— clothes disappearing
And while it was definitely hot at first, eventually I was like… okay maybe let’s sit down and process emotions for five minutes.
That’s why it’s a 3.5 for me instead of a higher rating. I loved the chemistry, but I wanted a little more depth in the communication during the second half.

She was adorable.
That little girl had me smiling every time she appeared, and I loved watching Cassie slowly become part of their lives in a real way.
The softer family moments genuinely balanced out the chaos really well.

This book felt fun from start to finish.
It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s part of why I enjoyed it so much.
It’s spicy, funny, easy to binge, and perfect if you want a romance that keeps you entertained without feeling heavy.

A chaotic, spicy, genuinely entertaining romance with amazing chemistry and a hot fictional man that is a chef. Do i have to say more🤭
Did the communication sometimes disappear the second they looked at each other? Yes.
Did I still eat this up anyway? Also yes.
