Bound to the Wolf

Rate this book
A cunning fox. A silver wolf. In a game of debts and deception, who will be the Hunter—and who will be the prey?

Twenty-year-old Ember is ready for a new start but unsure where to land. As she drives through the wooded town of Dayton, she’s so distracted by the greenery around her that she completely misses the shiny black Porsche parked on the side of the road just around a bend. The now totaled car belongs to Grimm, a devastatingly attractive and terrifying man in his forties. He’s furious and demands she repay him for the damages. Ember doesn’t have a dollar to her name and now is without her only form of transportation or lodging.

Through his anger, Grimm finds an ounce of empathy, offering her to stay at a cottage on his property and work for him while she repays her debts. She agrees and finds herself thrust into a new and complicated living situation.

Grimm isn’t just a charming silver fox. He’s the Minister of a werewolf pack. He attempts to hide the truth about himself and his budding feelings for his new houseguest, but nothing can stay in the dark for long.

Ember has some secrets of her own. Maybe her mistakes weren’t as accidental as they seemed, and maybe she’s not as innocent as she looks.

The two find themselves forced to face their past prejudices, fears, and primal needs, thrusting them closer and closer together until the fire inside burns everything in its path.

Bound to the Wolf can be enjoyed as a continuation of The Wolfish Love Stories or as a stand-alone.

These books are such bite sized fun!!! It’s always a fun cast of characters both old and new. This time we meet the silver fox (pun intended) Grimm who definitely caught my attention more than in any of the other books. It’s always nice to revisit Red and Cameron too. I can’t wait to see who’s next!

What a nice little read. This book was full of sugar, spice, and a whole lotta nice! I enjoyed reading about Grimm and Ember.

An FYI for those that need it: This is an age-gap romance (23 years difference ), which I don’t typically read because some authors make it feel icky. Thankfully, this author kept the ick to a minimum. There were some mentions of ”daddy issues” but they’re framed as the heroine working through her feelings and unpacking her upbringing. This book can be read as a standalone but I would definitely recommend reading the other books in the “series” to better connect with the supporting characters and the larger world.
It was refreshing to read about a heroine that grows up sheltered from the world but is still able to see the bigger picture. Ember’s growth is nice to see as she navigates her new freedom in a town full of shifters that she was raised to hate and fear. She is able to recognize that not everything is as it was taught to her. She does have secrets, though, and those secrets threaten the budding relationship with Grimm, the Minister of the weres in town.
Grimm is a grouchy and serious hero but Ember helps him smile and come out of his cave. He’s been mentioned in previous books and it was great getting to read his HEA.

Overall, I give this book a 3.5 out of 5 star ⭐️ rating and a 4 out of 5 spice 🌶️ rating . The story did feel like it was missing something. Like, more plot vs sexy times. Yeah, there’s some action scenes but there was a lot more brooding, overthinking, and spicy scenes. I also caught some grammar errors, not an insane amount but a few here and there, for those of you who might be sensitive to those things. It doesn’t detract from the story but it’s noticeable here and there.
It was nice to see characters from previous books make an appearance. I feel like this world of werewolves has the potential for more stories and I’m excited to see if the author continues expanding it.

I've been anxiously awaiting these two and they did not disappoint. Jumping out the gate with that dedication? Legendary. GM sure knows how to tickle my funny bone. Add on to that one of the best burns at Jacob's expense I've ever read, I was laughing hard right from the beginning.

Some things to expect: *Age Gap (23 years)
*Forced Proximity
*They're both shifters
*Virgin FMC
*Knotting, breeding, mentions of pregnancy with multiple characters

Ember is on the run, driving across the country, and at one point becomes so encompassed in her new found freedom she doesn't notice the road suddenly bend and just on the other side is a brand new Porsche that she turns into a crushed soda can. Having no money, no job, no house, no means of any kind she obviously begins to panic. Grimm is dealing with a world of shit. It's one thing after another with hunters and they just got the missing were-girls back a whole 5 seconds ago before this girl comes literally crashing into Grimm's life. A deal is made that she will work for Grimm to pay off the damage to his car and she will stay in the guest house on his property. Grimm is a grumpy bastard and needs to keep this girl at an arm's length but everything in him screams to be near her. Learning that she can shift too feels like it's the only secret that hangs between them but as they get closer Grimm learns the dark truth at the same time the mate bond pulls tight between them. The twist was twisting, the betrayal had me shook, my heart was racing, I didn't know what to do or what to expect. Not only did the story between them keep me happily engaged but I got conclusions and outcomes with other characters I was hoping for! So happy to see Red and Cameron have their baby and super happy to see .

𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐥𝐟 is the kind of story that feels like a head-on collision - in the absolute best way. Ember and Grimm are oil and flame from the very start. Grimm is broody, grumpy, and carrying the weight of his world on his shoulders, while Ember comes in younger, naïve, and more than a little immature. They clash constantly… and yet the pull between them is undeniable. No matter how much they resist, that draw is always there, simmering just beneath the surface.

One of my favorite parts of this book was watching Grimm wrestle with his desire for Ember. His internal battle felt authentic and intense, especially as he tried (and failed) to keep his distance. And Ember’s journey? So satisfying. Seeing her grow, mature, and ultimately find peace within herself gave the romance depth. She doesn’t stay the same girl we meet at the beginning, and that evolution makes their connection all the more rewarding.

It was also such a treat to spend time with Red and Cameron, as well as Brick and Carmen. Getting glimpses of these beloved couples added layers to the world and made everything feel richer and more connected.

Trope lovers, you’re in for a feast: forced proximity, that aching “I can’t fight this anymore” tension, and of course fated mates. The chemistry is hot and the emotional payoff hits just right.

As always, GM Fairy delivers a fun and spicy read that keeps you turning pages late into the night. If you love a shifter age gap with plenty of heat and heart, this one is definitely worth the ride. 🔥🐺

Special thanks to the author and BookSirens for the gifted copy 💕

So I very much enjoyed this book. Grimm is a werewolf who is the boss man and minister of his section. He is a man trying to keep his people safe from hunters. These hunters are people who seek out the different wears and kidnap them or kill them. Grimm works with the law to keep all the killings to a minimum and to right wrongs that he has done. Within his pack . That was until a wreck of a woman smashes into his new car.

Ember is a runaway 20 year old who has something to prove. She tried to show her family that she is of use and can do a good of a job as anyone else. But Ember has secrets. These secrets are what is going to get her in trouble. But as she crashes into a car her life is about to take a crazy turn. With the crash she finds she is in deep and all her secrets are about to come to the surface.

As Grimm and Embers relationship grows you wonder was she in the right place at the right time. Were they destined to find each other? I think so.. as they grow he find out who she really is but also find out WHO SHE REALLY IS!!

It’s beautiful how they grow. How they fall in love how they figure it out. I enjoyed feeling her feelings along with Grim and the rest of his people as they go thru there hardships. It was easy to get lost in this book. It was a nice read just the right amount of heat for the book.

Ember escapes from home and drives until stopping...ok well literally running into Grimm's car...in a shifter town new to her. Grimm makes the deal that she can work for him to pay off his midlife crisis car purchase. What comes next is a tale of fated mates, standing up for those who are constantly attacked and belittled, fighting against your upbringing, and learning to love yourself. I was so incredibly sad to see how Ember's dad had made her feel she couldn't ever show any fox traits and it in turn made her have specific beliefs about supernaturals even though she was one. When the twist I did not see coming happened, I was beyond proud of her for going against her father and protecting all supes.

Grimm fought against the insta-attraction so hard but eventually did fall. He was so strong but also empathetic and did whatever possible to protect his wolves and others. I love that while he did want answers from Ember, he understood her plight and came to her rescue no matter what.

I also loved seeing a prior Wolfish Love Stories couple. The world building and relationships with the MCs and others made it an enjoyable read, and made this world more accessible to me as I am an emotional reader and having prior MCs interact with our new MCs in such a positive way made me so happy.

Some tropes:
*Age Gap
*Shifting
*Knotting
*Emotional/physical ab!s3 of FMC by her father
*Insta-lust
*Protective MMC

I really enjoyed this book as I have all the other books I’ve read by this author. The steamy scenes really brought it and the tension between Grimm and Ember really made me invested in their relationship. That being said, I wish this book went a little harder.

In many ways this book felt like the bones of a good story with not a lot of meat. Other books in the series were retelling a of fairytales and I thought that we were going to get a Beauty and the Beast retelling in this one, but we didn’t. I also felt like I was just told that Ember had a traumatic childhood. However, when she talked about it, it felt like she was just saying words with no feeling behind them.

I also felt like some emotional depth was missing from the connection between Ember and Grimm. A few scenes where they were interacting like the dinner/game night scenes would have been good.

I did enjoy seeing the characters from previous stories and I found the way the author wrapped up the stories lines was satisfactory if a bit abrupt.

If you like engrossing reads with romance and steam I would recommend this book.

This electrifying installment burns brighter than ever, delivering an age-gap romance that crackles with tension from the very first page. Grimm is the embodiment of brooding severity. He’s irritable, guarded, and fiercely determined to keep his distance yet in Ember’s presence, his hardened edges splinter against her disarming innocence. Raised to believe her very nature as a fox shifter is wicked and worthy of scorn, Ember carries wounds carved deep by shame and fear. Together, she and Grimm are forced to confront the heavy ghosts of prejudice and self-loathing that stand between them. Though he fights their connection with every ounce of stubborn restraint, convinced their age difference is a line that cannot be crossed, fate has other plans. What unfolds is a powerful journey of acceptance and healing, threaded with sharp humor, simmering desire, and bursts of danger. Familiar faces from earlier books add depth and richness, but at its heart, this is a sweeping fated-mates tale of two broken souls daring to claim the happiness they deserve and earning every hard-won step toward their happily ever after.

"A Stunning and Unique Shifter Romance"

The story is Exciting, funny, sweet and super steamy hot! Especially Sexy Grimm the head of his werewolf pack. Ember is a sweet, and beautiful half human/half werefox. He tried to raise Ember up hating her were side. That all were's are dangerous monsters! To try to win his heart she runs away. To try and help him prove his is right. After escaping Ember accidentally wrecks into a red car sitting by the road. As it turned out it belonged to Grimm! His friend with him talks Grimm into letting Ember pay off the damages by working for Grimm.
Grimm and his people are fighting their own battles against hunters. But after Ember is with him for sometime. Grimm learns secrets about Ember that threaten his heart, and possibly his people! Definitely after he discovered she maybe his fated mate! Can they get past her past, and who she really is?

Thank you to BookSirens and the author for a copy of this book.

Bound to the Wolf was such a rollercoaster. I love when a grumpy, overworked pack leader finally meets the one person who completely unravels him, and Grimm absolutely met his match in Ember.

The forced proximity setup pulled me in right away. Ember crashing into his life, literally, and having to work off her debt at his property created the perfect tension. The age gap is noticeable, but Grimm never felt predatory. He felt cautious, controlled, and very aware of the responsibility he carries as Minister. Watching him slowly lose that control where Ember is concerned was half the fun.

Ember surprised me. She starts off sheltered and unsure, but there’s steel under that softness. As her secrets come to light, the story shifts from simple workplace tension to something more layered. The mate bond, the pack politics, and the fox versus wolf dynamic gave the romance extra bite. This delivered exactly what I wanted: solid spice, tension, and a hard-earned HEA.

Bound by the Wolf can be read as a standalone or part of The Wolfish Love Stories. Cameron plays a small role in throwing Ember and Grimm together, he just can't help himself.

The story opens with Grimm, who already has more than enough on his plate as the Minister of the Werewolf pack in Deyton, taking on Ember a young new to the world temptation. From the beginning, the weight of leadership, expectation, and tradition hangs heavily over him.

The author uses creative twists to explore this tension, embracing the animal nature of the weres rather than softening or romanticizing it. Although the book is marked as a romance, it’s really much more than that. At its core, this is a story about acceptance. Learning to live with, and eventually love, the parts of ourselves we’ve been taught to see as unloveable, flawed or deformed. The romance works because it grows out of that journey, not because it replaces it.

"You’ll likely find that Grimm will become something like a father to you. He is to the rest of us.”

Bound to the Wolf by G.M. Fairy is an enthralling, darkly romantic tale that had me completely captivated from start to finish. From the very first page, I was pulled into a world brimming with danger, passion, and supernatural intrigue. G.M. Fairy expertly blends suspense, romance, and shapeshifter lore into a story that feels both thrilling and deeply emotional.

The characters are complex, fierce, and unforgettable. The protagonist’s struggles, strength, and vulnerability make them incredibly relatable, while the romance is intense, passionate, and layered with tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The dynamic between the leads is electric, balancing danger, desire, and emotional depth perfectly.

The pacing is flawless, moving seamlessly between suspenseful action, tender moments, and heart-stopping twists. Themes of loyalty, trust, and identity are explored with nuance, giving the story both emotional weight and thrilling momentum.

🌲Ember literally crashes into Grimm’s world after leaving her old life behind. She’s escaping from her father, he sees her as a mistake against nature. She ends up working for Grimm to pay off the damage she done to his car but he also gives her a place to stay.

🌲What Ember doesn’t realise she has an effect on him bringing out his animalistic side. She’s all he can think about. She doesn’t know that he’s a werewolf but she knows there’s something different about him.

🌲Grimm will make any excuse not to let her go after all this time he might have finally found his mate. He sees her for who she truly is, his other half and when he finds out her secret it doesn’t change how he feels about her. They are two souls destined to be with one another 💕

🌲I loved reading this book the chemistry, the slow building tension, the banter between Ember and Grimm and that Ember finally found a place, a home where she’s accepted.

Thank you Book Sirens for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

2.5 stars: I genuinely enjoyed this book, it’s a sweet, easy read with likeable characters and some well‑executed spice. Grimm and Ember had great potential as a pairing, though I do feel their relationship could have benefited from a bit more development. The dynamic sometimes swung too quickly between “I hate him” and “I want him”, and a few additional chapters would have helped deepen their connection and the overall story.

There were quite a lot of characters introduced, but not much backstory for most of them, which left the world feeling a little under explored. The final conflict also wrapped up very quickly; I would have loved to see the tension drawn out more, perhaps by expanding the roles of certain side characters or streamlining the cast so the narrative had more room to breathe.

Overall, though, it was an enjoyable read with a lot of charm and plenty of potential.

I read this book as a standalone before I was able to read the prior stories in the series. Even so I loved that characters from the previous book appeared, one of my favorite things to see across a series. I thoroughly enjoyed the Age-gap dynamic, nothing sexier then salt and pepper hair. As always GM Fairy writes captivating sex scenes and creative plot lines. It was an easy and quick read, which is my only negative regarding the book! I just wish it was a tad longer and drawn out, I would have killed for more on the charcters just when I was falling in love it was ending! If you want a quick HEA this book is for you. If you want a lengthy and edging plot it might not fit your fancy but its still worth a read for our monster loving girlies ♡

This is another wonderful addition to the series and it was a great age gap romance. Grimm is beyond grumpy and when he's in Ember's presence, her naivety contrasts pretty hard with his grouch ;) She's a fox shifter that's been raised to think that being a shifter is evil, to be hated. As you may imagine, she and Grimm have a lot to unpack with that. However, he's older and is desperately trying to keep his distance from her because of their age difference. Ha! These two showcase a fab story of acceptance and healing. I loved seeing the characters from the previous books (this does stand alone but it's so much richer with the other books being read first). Expect to get caught up in this fated mates romance with healing, some action, brooding, humour and spice as these two work their way to an HEA. Good fun!

I received an ARC from the author

I'm so sad I didn't like this. From the get go, I hated Ember. Nothing this girl did made sense to me. Even after the reveal of what her deal is... None of her motivations made sense. The definition of insufferable.
Grimm was fine. At first. And then we went heavy on the age gap and things were no longer fine for me. Ember is 20 and I think he said he's 43. Fine whatever.
This is short, but boy did it feel like it was dragging since I was just not having a good time

This series is very dear to me, so I’m a little sad this is the last one. I’ve had a really good time with it overall, even if I wish we had gone deeper with the characters.
The book felt short. Like… too short. Especially when it comes to Ember. I really wanted more from her. More backstory, more emotions, more time to actually sit with her character. It felt like there was room to explore and we just… didn’t.

That said, I still enjoyed it. It was fun, it was entertaining, and I flew through it. The spice was good, no complaints there.
Did I love the age gap? Not really.
Did it ruin the book for me? Also no. It is what it is.

Plot: 5/5

Spice: 5/5

Characters: 3.5/5

Without having read the previous two books, Bound to the Wolf does an amazing job of staying self contained, giving plenty of information to keep you engaged in the world while still leaving questions. Outside of the spice, which there was plenty of <3, I found myself captivated by the conflict with the Hunter’s as well as the slow unraveling of Ember’s past. My only gripe is that some of Ember’s decisions towards the beginning of the story felt unnatural and brought me out of the story at times. Nonetheless, I still very much loved this book and will definitely be reading the previous two.

I think this might be my favorite out of the three. I decided to read the first two before I started this and I'm so glad I did.

One part that I got a little confused by was that Ember said didn't know where she was going and that she was just driving, but she was the one that uploaded and took the videos of the Weres like she knew they were there. We didn't find out the senator was her dad until the end. So did he tell her to go to Dayton? Or maybe I just read it wrong?

Either way, I loved the story, I loved Grimm, I loved Ember, and I love how the characters from the other books show up. Totally going to buy the physical book to add to my collection!

I don't read a lot of werewolf books usually but I thought this book was fun and lighthearted with a good amount of spice in it. The only issue I had with it was that the chapter were longer than I prefer them to be ( but that's just my preference ) and that I wish there was more detailed descriptions of the setting/world because I had a hard time picturing some scenes in my head which made it harder for me to connect to the main characters and feel the tension between the two but other than that I thought it was a good book and I think G.M. Fairy books are creative and unique in general and they are always a good time. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

GM Fairy always gives me the exact smutty retelling I didnt know I wanted 🤣 Bound to the Wolf is a shared world series of standalones. Grimm and Ember were destiny collided and who know a car wreck was needed to literally crash into their orbit. This fox thought she could hide. Keep to herself and run away from a life not so well lived. Hidden from the world and forced to be a pawn can only take its toll until the game is not worth it anymore. Grimm didnt know he would be the soft landing let alone the answer to all her problems. One or two she may have caused 😉
These short fairytales (but add a little bit of spice) will cure any book hangover you may find yourself in 🌶🌶

It's a nice short story. A little too short for my taste. And it lacked for my a little dept. That doesn't mean it's a bad story it's just to short. I like the story of Ember and Grimm.

It made me also decide that I want to read more of this author. But I hope other books are a little longer and have a little more debt.

Sometimes it was also hard for me to follow what happend, I think that's because the author wants to tell something but keep part of it a secret. Which is perfectly good but doesn't help always my understanding. (since I am not a native speaker)

A quick side story and has some camoes from the other main characters in books from this series.

Grimm is just too nice. I wish we’d get more backstory on Ember, as I couldn’t really figure her out. Maybe a prologue on how she grows up, without revealing too much of course. I think that would help understand where she comes from and maybe make her more likable. She came across as a rich bratty child, that had zero experience in the real world and it didn’t make sense to me. Grimm deserves better 🤷‍♀️…

All in all a quick read. Thank you to Booksirens and the author. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A satisfying story. While this is a romance and marketed as such, it’s also a story about acceptance—learning to love the parts of ourselves we find ugly. This was a super quick read with a nice pace. The romance was sweet and, while nothing groundbreaking, it still tugged at the heartstrings. There is some spice and other adult themes, so be sure to check the content warnings if you’re hoping to avoid those things. Overall, this was a good read, and if you loved the other books in this series, I’m certain you’ll enjoy this one too.

I really enjoy G.M's works.

This one is no different, though I did think the beginning went a little slow for me. As you progress throughout the book though it picks up and gets more interesting. Super spicey as always and a good take on shifter/werewolf romances. I would be interested in any future writing that pertains to the same world. Don't want to say too much as this is a novella and picks up pretty quickly in the second half.

Another good monster romance from GM Fairy!! This is a continuation of the series, though could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading them all.

Ember was so cute, I love her foxy character. Grimm is the grumpy broody MMC, but soft for his love. Their dynamic was fun! I always find these short books a nice refresher, but sometimes too short. The plot builds and finishes quick and wraps up nice but I could handle more.

Lots of spice, breeding kinks, knotting- not always my faves but I enjoyed. I also love a good age gap!

This is about Ember and Grimm. An accident and a debt to pay, begins this story of finding one's self, acceptance, and love. Ember has been controlled her whole life, but Grimm slowly helps her find the freedom she has always wanted. Grimm thought he would be alone, but Ember changed his world. I like that Ember is able to embrace what she was taught to fear, and that Grimm is able to support her when she really needs it.

“Bound to the Wolf” by G. M. Fairy

-A fun, steamy paranormal romance featuring a grumpy “silver fox” hero and a sheltered heroine discovering her strength. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Ember’s journey from fear and control to freedom and self-acceptance adds heart to the age-gap, fated-mate romance with Grimm. Sweet, spicy, and packed with returning characters, this quick read blends emotion, heat, and werewolf intrigue into a satisfying happily ever after.
