I spent a night with the alpha king Then he rejected me and said “You’ll never be my mate.”
The night I was supposed to be presented to an alpha like a good little omega, I ran. I wanted nothing to do with him, nothing to do with the bond.
So I slipped away into the gardens… and straight into the arms of a gorgeous, mysterious guard. His dark eyes and scars screamed of danger, but I let myself have one forbidden night.
But the next morning, our bond snapped into place.
But it turns out, he wasn't a guard. He was Magnus Ashfjord, The Alpha King. The ruler of over a hundred wolf packs. And the man my pack once betrayed.
So when he found out, he rejected me. And I did what I had to—I ran.
For three years, I’ve built a life without him. Until fate rips us back together.
Because when I see Magnus again, with another woman around his arm, I want to tear her throat out. My wolf snaps. I thought our bond had died, but it's stronger than ever.
And when I go into heat, there's only one king that can satisfy my needs. But this time, I won’t let him break my heart…
Alpha King's Runaway Mate is a rejected mates shifter romance with lots of spice, a grumpy MMC and a strong FMC. Mature audience only!
This was a decent shifter/alpha/rejected mate book. The H was a decent guy who made a mistake in a rushed moment. He rejected h but he was kind of put on the spot and surprised about everything going on.
h and her sister were locked up but he was going to explain to her after everything blew up. h and her sister had already escaped. He looked for her for 3 years.
Both H and h were celibate during the 3 years they were apart.
They hooked up soon after being reunited but h made it hard for H. She didn’t trust him at all.
They have to unite to help the people and learn to trust each other.
This was a good shifter story. I enjoyed the progression of the story and the growth of the main characters. I also enjoyed that it not only ended in a HEA but had a cute epilogue as well,
This book wasn't so bad, as far as shifter books go. The writing wasn't so terrible, and the plot was something a little different. Despite the fact that some things were predictable and there was some overreacting going on with certain things, it was much better than a lot of other shifter books I have read.
I only noticed one weird editing issue, where there was a random slash / at the end of the book, but nothing else really jumped out at me. Normally I run into many issues with shifter books.
I thought it was blown way out of proportion how everyone reacted when they found her sister in a restricted area. In a palace with many guests, it isn't going to be unusual for at least one person to get lost or wander places. Then, to assume they were "plotting" because they were whispering together is a bit much. They were with a lot of strangers, and so sticking together doesn't seem to suspicious to me. Everyone just seemed to be overreacting to everything.
How was it a big secret that she was an omega. Magnus' people remembered her from the ball, so they should have known about it. I knew she had blockers on, but it wasn't really mentioned well that she was actually hiding her designation.
I found it totally predictable that her dad was involved with the attack. Hale seemed to come out of nowhere, though. He was just a random person. I am going to keep on with the series, very few of them are actually related, but in some way it is nice to have them all lumped together for easier access.

This story was okay. The whole "rejection" reasoning was weak and therefore every scene after where the "rejection" was the centre of the drama felt forced. I believe the real culprit, Luc, got away with too much. Too much disrespect to his king (the best friend card only flies so far when being disrespectful, in public no less) and he was the one pushing the hate agenda towards Klara relentlessly up until the end. And then had the audacity to be shocked about her being Magnus's mate after the bond was finished. Bro, Magnus has been telling you for over three years, quite literally since the day he met her, that she was his mate and you're surprised? GTFO.
No shock regarding the role Klara's father played and I kind of felt like the reasoning for Hale's tour invention was weak as well. Especially because he had others take notice of what he was doing while he was still young and you're going to try to convince me that no one said anything? I don't buy it.
I will say Klara showed strength is certain areas, but I wish she showed strength in all areas including resisting Magnus. She was so easy to manipulate and whenever she was in the vicinity of magnus her brain and self control all of sudden never existed and she’s back to acting like a high school girl crushing on a boy. The way she was around Magnus after their fall out and reunion greatly contradicted how the author wanted to portray her as this strong intelligent woman. It was impossible to reconcile the two and made the story hard to get into.
The Alpha king Magnus I can just visualize his amazing body and strength. If only he wasn’t so stubborn. He looses the love of his life because he was impulsive. Then the amazing Klara comes back showing him what he threw away. A woman beyond strength and beauty. They both kick ass and take names. Finding happiness in the end!!.

What an interesting story. The only thing I didn't like about it was the (h) kept making the king beg for her affection. Was he perfect? No. Did he make mistakes sure, but she kept having him beg. That's what I didn't like about it. I almost didn't finish it because of this. I pushed though it hoping for a really good ending. Sadly there wasn't. Was it a good story, it was okay. Would I read it again, nope
I had a difficult time with this book because the timeline discrepancies. I wasn't a big fan of Klara. Overall I liked Magnus. The space is only reason why I gave it three stars.

All I know is sometimes these Alpha's let paranoia and their egos get in the way of their happiness. Magnus put his big ole alpha foot in his mouth so many times, his mate had to be a saint to keep forgiving him.
This book was amazing I really enjoyed there story and sex making. The way nothing changes just because you had sex. Then with time how they came together and wala a family was born.
I hate a pregnancy trope. And a runaway for absolutely no reason. And duhh her dad is in on it. I didn’t want to finish it but I have a reading goal to hit.
