About the author

Cynthia St. Aubin

USA Today bestselling author Cynthia St. Aubin wrote her first play at age eight and made her brothers perform it for the admission price of gum wrappers. A steal, considering she provided the wrappers in advance. Though her early work debuted to mixed reviews, she never quite gave up on the writing thing, even while earning a mostly useless master's degree in art history and taking her turn as a cube monkey in the corporate warren.

Because the voices in her head kept talking to her, and they discourage drinking at work, she started writing instead. When she's not standing in front of the fridge eating cheese, she's hard at work figuring out which mythological, art historical, or paranormal friends to play with next. She lives in Colorado with the love of her life and three surly cats.

I absolutely loved it. I was laughing all the way through. This is a collection of stories about a psychologist and how she comes to treat all kinds of supernatural creatures. They all tie in and are in order. There is everything from a leprachaun who talks to invisible people to Santa Claus. There is also some romance and hot sex thrown in the mix. I couldn't put this down and read it all in a day just so I could see what mishap would happen next.

I have read all of these books once, having them all in one was super awesome.
I won't bore you with a synopsis of each book, I will say if you want to laugh until you possibly pee a little and or snort laugh until your family thinks you may be crazy, these are the books you need!
Loved this set, and I can't wait to see what other characters may come from Cynthia!!

OMG So good I'm yakking rainbows

Unloveable - A great read with a good mixture of comedy and romance.

Cupid is cheesed off, he as been unlucky in love and so feels the rest of the world should suffer as well. Demigod Crixus has decided that Matilda Schmidt is the Phychologist to help Cupid out and get love back in the world . She also has to cope with a case of mistaken identity and sexy vegas hit.

Unlucky - Full of laughs, a bit of suspense, sex and gold

Accused of stealing gold from an infamous Irish street Gang. Matilda is left with no choice but to make deal with Criux - one night with her if find the missing gold. Complicated matters is Flick the leprechaun who claims he is being hunted by the Tato Men. Also added to this crazy mix is Liam, the hit man who made quite impression on Matilda in Unlovable had gotten word about Matilda and the missing gold so has arrived to help much to Criux displeasure.

Unhoppy - Having dealt with a grumpy cupid in the first book, a paranoid leprechaun in the second, this time Matilda is dealing with a suicidal Easter Bunny. Also Adonis is now convinced he is in love with her added to her problem is someone is now black-mailing her.

Unbearable - Having dealt with Cupid, the Easter Bunny and a crazy Leaprechan Melinda is now left to contend with A PSTD affected egg aka Humpty Dumpty as well as been hunted by the three bear because they think she can lead them to Goldilocks. Your favourite hit man Liam and resident Demi-god in Melinda's life make an appearance also to help her track down her kidnapped mother.

Unassailable - After all the crazy escapades found in the previous books, Matilda is taking a much need holiday on her own with only her books to company. Sadly the solitude she seeks does long thanks to a couple of crazy dead pirates - Sinpants who had the misfortune of dying with no pants on and the colourful Gaybeard and his parrot.
Ghosts aren't the only thing stopping Matilda from her peaceful vacation - Crixus and Liam both make an appearance and tempers flare. Will she be able get to the bottom of the ghost problem and sort out her feelings for the demigod and the smoking hot hit man.

Undeadly - Matilda finds her regular patient cancelling and unsure of why until a vampire who can't stand blood turns up as a client. He lets on her favourite Demi-god Crixus who is MIA is sending her clients to another psychologist. Adding to this stress is an invite in Rollie's Halloween party which really doesn't want to go to but ends up going with Liam in a sexy costume she normally won't be caught dead in. Things get worse when Liam drunk on Ambrosia drops the ball and Matilda is kidnapped. Who will save her this time?

While the darkest book of the series yet it is still full of laughs. One of my favourite bits was the mention of of a witch Gerti found in one of my other favourite series Leigh by Melanie James.

Unexpecting - The wonderful and funny conclusion to the Dr Matilda Schmidt Story.

Having loved this series from the beginning I was both happy and sad to read this final book but like all the others I devoured it from the very first word to the very last. I read part of it while on the bus and had to try very hard not to laugh out load during certain moments.

The story starts with Matilda find out its true what her mother told her Undeadly - she is pregnant but who is the father. To add to the stress - the blackmailer is back and know she is pregnant and since Matilda doesn't want anyone to know because she is unsure of the father - what will she do. Then her Psychology services are need because Criux has gone a drinking binge with Santa. Will Matilda survive the holidays with everything intact including her mind.

Bonus Episode - It takes place between Unreadily and Unexpecting and involves just Matilda and Criux. A great bonus read. That is all I'm going to saw without giving anything away

I loved this series and was sad to see it end but can't wait to see what else Cynthia St. Aubins comes up with in the future

I love this book! It's laugh out loud funny and full of unexpected hijinx that will keep turning the pages to see what will happen next. This handsy dandy book contains all of Dr. Schmidt's cases to date and two bonus stories. This is great! All the books are in one convenient location, no guessing which book is next; this works especially well if your like me and need to read books in a series in order. I loved it, and can't wait to see what happens next!

These stories were just a hoot - I read them separately on my nook but am reviewing them together rather than piecemeal. Dr. Matilda Schmidt is doing just fine, thank you, with her well ordered (albeit lonely and singular) life, when a depressed Cupid is brought in for treatment and Matilda is kidnapped by a hit man to transport her to Las Vegas. And so begins the adventures - with Liam and Crixus and a host of mythological characters who need Matilda's psychological skills. And who wants her killed (over and over again)? And from zero to two love interests at once - well it just keeps getting more complicated (and spicy) as we go along. Lots of laughs in this smart and smart aleck comedy of errors.

I read Unlovable and found that really fun so I thought I'd pick up the rest of the series but it just wasn't as good. It's still very funny, bit the plot seems a bit disjointed, Matilda jsut seems to bounce about between situations and Men (it also have a love triangle in, sigh, I hate love triangles). I also wish that Matilda would show some character growth.

I should have read the reviews more carefully. These are pretty much just soft porn with a little bit of story mixed in. Bleh. I want interesting characters and plots that jump and twist, not just twisted clothing.

Lots of good potential but there's a rushed quality and a lack of emotion that made me put it down. However, I might try again because I've enjoyed other books by the author.

This book needs a Trigger Warning for Dub-con at the very least.

It's written in a fresh and fastpaced style, a lot of fun with bite-sized stories about kooky characters from fairytales and mythology, crazy twists and turns, slapstick comedy and hot demi-gods.

But I can't in good conscience add any stars. I mean, how many stars do I subtract for the numerous instances of at best dub-con and at worst outright rape?

An example: Two human characters are in an office, hiding from an assassin, when the man throws the woman face-down on the desk, says "You need to get fucked" and proceeds immediately. No warning, no context, no real pre-existing relationship, no foreplay, certainly no spoken or indicated consent. Not even a corny "shall we play hide-the-salami?" or the excuse of fantasy creatures behaving fantastically.

It's all framed as humor and sexy fantasy, but it made me uncomfortable more than once. People should be able to opt out before they spend money on something that's not their cup of tea.

I have loved all of these on their own but all together is so much fun!!! You will not be able to put this one down!!! Cynthia has a way with words that will have you laughing the whole way through. These have had my crying with laughter, love them!!!
No breaks just cover to cover.... happens every time I get sucked in! People will want to know what your reading and you will want to share the love.
Having dealt with Cupid, the Easter Bunny, a Leaprechan, A PSTD affected egg aka Humpty Dumpty as well as been hunted by the three bear because the want her to take them to Goldilocks Matilda has done it all! Her hit man Liam and her resident Demi-god Crixus, Byron the Vampire and Charon the Ferryman are all amazing :) Everyone becomes a friend that you fall in love with.
These have had me laughing out loud enough so that my husband has giving me funny looks! Knowing it is over is so disheartining but all great things end sometime so now I wait to see what Cynthia comes up with next!!!!

I first found this author at a online book event. I read a few of her novellas and was hooked. I was going through breast cancer treatments and the fusion of hilarious and romance was a great way to pass my time during treatment. I'm thrilled that now I can reread them all plus the bonus in this bundle. If you like romance with a twist this is great author to put on your instant one click list. I don't want to give any spoilers so I'll leave this review at this: support indie authors, leave her a review after you get done with this joyride of a book.

Okay I broke down and ordered the whole set. I was studying this series as a terrific example of serial novellas - each story a standalone, but leading to the next without obvious cliff hangers - and finally got to the point where I just wanted to see what happened! Very funny series with quirky protagonist who can readily diagnose even the most unusual client while managing to keep up with her own life struggles - sometimes to manage her own issues! Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this series. Cynthia St. Aubin creates colorful characters that are likable. After reading these, if you aren't in love with Crixus, Liam or the Tato Mens, there is no hope for you. Each story brings you deeper into Matilda's crazy life and makes you want to go deeper still. Great job.

OMG! I loved the humor in this series and am so happy they were released together, bringing the tale to a satisfying conclusion. Dr. Matilda Schmidt is haplessly thrown into a world she doesn't believe in. Will she fall for the demi-god who introduced her to the world of other beings, or will the hit-man sent to bring her to a mob boss win her heart.

You'll laugh all the way to the end!

Such an amazing series. Couldn't put it down. A great read that makes all the feels, and puts all surfaces of your house in mortal danger of projectile liquids from your nose area.
This set has earned a special place in my heart, and on my shelf. :)

Funny and Fascinating

First a little warning; these books contain sexual content*

The storyline and characters are well written, clever, funny, and at times, crass. The world created is fascinating and astute.
I genuinely loved the premise, Dr. Schmidt, and the tug of war she gets caught up in.
The originality behind the plots and characters used increase the reader's desire to delve into that world. I'm sad it's over.
Poor Dr. Schmidt gets sucked into some amazingly crazy and bazaar situations that make you laugh, yell, and go WTF?
Worth reading.
