"Vaster than the sea, more violent than the wind, your love is the only thing on this earth that could ruin me."
This book was an unexpected delight! I happened to be browsing the Kindle Unlimited catalog the other night, and this title popped up under the "books you might enjoy based on previous reads" section. Even though I have hundreds of books here that should be priority, I decided a mood read was exactly what I needed right now. I started Tennessee Truths on my kindle, but ended up purchasing the paperback once I was about 30% in and realized I wanted to keep this one on my physical shelf.
"It came with the realization that breaking a heart is often not an act of malice; for hearts are heavy things that cannot be given back lightly, and have an unfortunate habit of slipping through unpracticed fingers and ungentled hands. And they fall even faster and harder than we do." -Chloe Frayne, Into Oblivion
This story is told in dual perspectives, and we begin with an insight into how Jace and Faith share a young and tender love as middle/high school sweethearts. They have every intention of leaving for community college together, as both come from homes with little expendable income, but when Jace is confronted with evidence of a mistake he made, their relationship blows up and forever is shattered in an instant.
Fast forward five years, and Jace has opened his own body shop in the main characters' home town of Collierville, TN, and Faith has married a tech mogul billionaire. Faith finds herself returning home after her "fairytale" marriage is broken, and so begins the enemies-to-lovers dance between Jace and Faith, both whom haven't interacted with each other over the time jump.
There are so many things to love about this book. While it touches on some difficult topics (death of a loved one, domestic violence, broken relationships with parents, etc), I found this still remained firmly in the comfort romance realm. Most of the difficult stuff takes place off scene and is discussed after the fact, but there is one scene in particular toward the end that may be triggering for survivors of spousal abuse. The side plot with Jace being blackmailed did feel a bit predictable as to who the reveal centered around, and the middle portion might feel a bit repetitive in the fact that Jace and Faith have loads of miscommunication issues, and flip flop on each other fairly quickly, but I loved how the relationship took considerable time to be repaired, instead of the couple falling instantly in love with each other again. For those looking for more of a closed door romance, this might be right up your alley. There is a considerable amount of angst and tension, but I only found one briefly explicit scene at the very end of the book. If you're looking for an author who's writing is truly gorgeous and characters who will remain with you for a long time, I can't recommend this small town second chance romance highly enough! I look forward to exploring Ashley Munoz's backlist!
"We moved to a song birthed in darkness, illuminated by fire, all while I gracefully handed my heart over to my secret keeper, my bully, the boy I was falling in love with."
Tennessee Truths is... choppy. The plot seems cut and paste. It does not flow nicely. I do not like this that much. But the overall story is fine. It is actually full of moral messages for young girl to be strong. Just the execution needs more work.
The chemistry between the characters also choppy. Sometimes it is cold, sometimes it is hot. the conversation is also choppy.
Alright, I am super busy today so the review have to be short.
Oh man... where do I start. This book wasn’t my cup of tea. I DO not like my main character to be the way Jace was. I didn’t like how he was in the beginning of the book. How he was basically a bully to Faith in middle school. And then after.... when they were adults.
And I do not like my female leads to be like a doormat. Faith just overlooks how Jace treated her. Throughout this whole book. Jace is just saying and throwing mean things at Faith. And yes, Faith gets upset. But let’s it all happen.
Even in her own apartment. Her safe relaxing place. She allows Jace to treat her like shit!
This book was so exhausting to read! Jace’s hot and cold attitude was aggravating. 78% in and still with the fucked up attitude.
Then Jace always assuming things without talking to Faith was also irritating. I mean come on!!!
I could go on and on. But I’m done. I’m moving on to the next book.

Emotional | Second Chance Romance
Tennessee Truths is a deeply emotional read filled with angst, mistrust, miscommunication, and ultimately healing. This is my first read from the author and I’m so glad I took a chance on someone new because this one hit me with all the feels. I was drunk on this story. In some instances, I was also extremely frustrated, but the weight that was lying on these characters shoulders helped me gain an understanding of their poor choices. So, no matter how frustrating some of the book was, the underlying message and the truly heartfelt ending left me feeling satisfied.
Tennessee Truths is a second chance romance between two people who found love with each other when they were only teenagers. The author starts the story at this point and watching Faith and Jace fall in love so easily was beautiful. But then something goes wrong and they are ripped from each other’s lives in the most unfortunate and heartbreaking ways.
5 years later, they meet again. One would think that two people who loved each other so deeply would fall back in the same old way but that’s not the case with Jace and Faith. These two have both suffered tremendously and it leaves them fighting off a hoard of lies that snowballs into mistrust and miscommunication between the two. This is the point in the story that really grated on my nerves. As a reader (and it’s my personal preference) I cannot stand when characters miscommunicate for an endless amount of time. I understand that it adds to the angst and drama, but for it to keep going and going, I find it gets old. While I love HOW the author wrote the story and lesson behind it, I could hardly stand the back and forth between these two. Yes, there were MANY things standing in their way (I won’t say WHAT because I don’t want to spoil the story), but to constantly MISTRUST and listen to other people instead of one’s own heart was infuriating. Jace, while a lovely character, had such a stubborn nature that I almost didn’t like him. He did redeem himself for me, but it was tough to even like him because he couldn’t get a handle on his feelings. Not only that, he was extremely cruel and at some points reckless when it came to Faith. You’ll see what I mean when/if you chose to read this book. ( I’ll say right here that this ISN’T a bully romance but in some instances, he did come off as a bully! ).
Faith, the heroine of the story, is the kind of woman I love. She’s strong despite everything that’s happened to her, she honest about her feelings, and she does whatever it takes to survive the hell she’s been and still being put through. Ashley wrote her so beautifully that I instantly loved her. I think many readers will agree with me on this statement! It’s empowering to read about her type of characters because it sends a strong message to women that it’s possible to rise from the ashes.
Overall, I did enjoy this one despite some misgivings. Ashley wrote a tremendously strong book here and I loved the message within it. If you’re looking for something angsty and emotional I would certainly recommend this one. I myself will be looking at more of the authors books in the near future because I think she has a gift at writing!
Damn sneak peeks! I have a long list of books waiting to be read and I promised myself I would read them before buying any more books... but after reading Only once by Ashley Munoz and loving it, I had a sneak peek of this one and I was hooked.
And I’m glad I read it, it was very good. Just as the other one, it was a second chance romance, with just the perfect amount of drama and tension. Faith and Jace were damaged by events in the past and almost impossible to give their trust again.
It was a good book, perfect pace and tension until the story unraveled at the end.
Meh. It was three stars until the end, then it ruined all. The hero and the heroine are high school sweethearts, he dumps her without an explanation at 18, she leaves and marries a rich guy. Five years later she’s back. Her husband turned out to be an abusive man and hurt her repeatedly. The hero is hostile towards her, which I couldn’t really understand. After all, it was she who was the offended part, he dumped her. There are many secrets about what happened. He was poor, his mother had cancer and he was caught by the security camera stealing drugs for his mother. Very sad. Someone blackmailed him to dump the heroine either he would have gone to jail, so he dumped her, to save his mother and himself. Sadly this person leaked the video and he was sent to jail. When he came back he wanted to have the heroine back but she was already married. He even went to see her but after witnessing her with her new husband and thinking she was madly in love, he decided he would leave her be. There’s a lot of moments where he treats her like shit, and this was really annoying. After all, what should she have done? He dumped her and of course she couldn’t know he wanted to be back with her as soon as he was out of jail. And had he not gone to jail, I suppose he wouldn’t have gone after her anyway. Inconsistent. When he finds out the heroine has been abused by her husband, he regrets treating her badly. They start dating, she files for divorce but her ex comes again to mess things. The hero is very insecure about her husband even if she told him she never loved him fully and after just one year the marriage was basically over. He believes all the lies he says, which I didn’t appreciate. In the end what made me decide to rate it two stars was because he was ready to give her up, even after she divorced her husband. This is not what I expect from a hero. Since it was him who dumped the heroine the first time, it should have been him to pursue her relentlessly after she divorced her husband. To me, he didn’t love her enough, and the fact he was so ready to dump her the first time to avoid jail is a solid proof. The man who blackmailed him was the heroine father, who wanted her to marry a rich guy. If the first time I could understand that the hero was really too young and helpless and wanted to help his mother, the second time he was anyway ready to give her up because he was tired of her messy situation with her husband, so, instead of helping her and showing he was by her side and had her back, he dumped her again like the coward he was. Just no. Not the kind of her I want. He should have supported her and stayed with her, even if he thought she was pregnant with her ex which was of course a lie, of he really loved her. Safety. She married her husband. To me, she was a bad wife, and a cheating one since she never loved her husband and carried a torch for him even after he dumped her. The husband was hurt and became abusive. Of course I don’t excuse his awful behavior, he should have simply divorced her as soon as he understood she was never going to love him back. But I was bad enough to me. She should have been more loyal and kind to her husband, and she should have had a bit of pride herself since the hero dumped her without remorse and never looked for her again. Sadly this is not the case. The hero had three women, I don’t know if he had relationships, or if they were three times with random that he regretted afterwards. I think the second was more likely, since he often says about drunken mistakes and not being able to have relationships after her. I didn’t like him at all anyway. Two stars for the angst and misunderstandings.
Im gonna have to come back and write a review because if I did it right now, all it would say is:
This is a bunch motherfucking bullshit!! She makes the grand gesture after all the fucking shit he put her through and accused her of. He guilts her into forgiving her mother, who took the side of her abuser. He believed the same motherfucking POS that abused her even after seeing the physical evidence. Fuck him, Fuck her abusive ex, Fuck her POS mom and her blackmailing dad. Faith deserved way more than this bullshit!
I hate giving bad reviews, especially since I'm aware that authors put their all in the books they release, and I was really looking forward to this one.. But I could not get into it.
Even at the beginning, we see the heroine constantly being bullied and verbally abused by the hero, all in the name of him just liking her too much. Firstly, that is overplayed, and second, abuse in any form is not love. So I wasn't really sold from the get go, but then after admitting their love for one another and being together for years, Faith and Jace are ripped apart. They are reunited five years later with so much pain and resentment between the two of them, with Faith trying to escape her emotionally and physically abusive husband --girl just can't catch a break -- and comes have to face with the boy who has never been far from her heart.. only to get nothing but malice and unjust behavior from him. Yet she tries again and again to understand why he's treating her this way, only for him to tear her down again and again.
The gist is that Jace lost everything he loved in one fell swoop, and the one girl he counted on always being by his side was nowhere to be found. But SPOILER: it was his own doing that Faith left in the first place. He never confided in her what he was dealing with, why he had to leave her, and that once he was able to, they would start their lives together. But nnnnnooooppeee, Faith was supposed to be a mind reader all along and understand what he was doing. Then Jace had the audacity to be angry when Faith moved on (or tried to) when he didn't tell her anything.
There was nothing about Jace that I found remotely appealing: he was rude, abrasive, condescending, and just a downright jerk. If he has just communicated with Faith in the first place, the entire ordeal could have been avoided.
I'll probably be in the minority with my opinion, but I am so tired of reading about a hero who is verbally abusive and the weak heroine who just can't seem to walk away.
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

This book is my first from this author and it will not be my last. Amazingly written, the book is full of great characters, sizzling chemistry, angst and passion. Jace and Faith stole my heart, then twisted it. I absolutely adored their journey. It wasn't an easy one but it was a magnificent one. If you want something that will speak to your heart but also ruin you, then read this stunning book. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Jace & Faith's story starts in high school when they secretly & anonymously leave notes for each other in library books. After meeting they start a relationship and they both seem to fall fast and hard planning a life and future together until one day something tears them apart and Faith leaves.
5 years later Faith is returning to her hometown trying to get away from her seemingly perfect life and finding a way to start over and move forward when she runs into Jace who is less than happy to see her. Both broken in their own way, will they find a way back to each other or will this love of theirs destroy them both.
This story started off so strong and I found myself intrigued by how it was going to play out. It was heartbreaking at times, it was beautiful, raw, real and emotional. I really enjoyed the first half and found myself flipping through the pages super fast. It was a slow burn, enemies to lovers small town second chance romance filled with lies, deciet, passion, heat and some sweet moments as well.
I loved both Faith & Jace but they also frustrated me a lot. Both strong, independent characters but also broken and guarded and even though their riff happened when they were younger I wish both Jace & Faith would've stood up for themselves more and fought for what they wanted sooner. I didn't like the lack of communication and miscommunication as well as lack of trust these two had. I understood where they were both coming from but it was hard to feel that connection for them when at 90% into the story they still kept doubting each other and letting outside influences affect how they thought and felt.
Like most small town romances this story had an assortment to side characters, some fantastic and some not so much. I loved both of their best friends especially Gemma she was amazing and we all need a Gemma in our lives. I loved Jace's family also and I'm glad after everything he had such a great support system with what he was dealing with poor Faith didn't have the same apart from Gemma it didn't really seem like anyone else had her best interest at heart.
Overall I did enjoy this book and the authors writing style and cant wait to read more from her.
TW for domestic abuse

It’s like hitting your head against a brick wall - DO NOT RECOMMEND
This book makes absolutely no sense. The author fails miserably at transitioning from the leads’ teenage relationship to the present. There is too little information about where they are today and too little about yesterday. The author tries to write the push/pull; I can/can’t, will/won’t narrative, that I dislike, especially when done poorly as it was here. I skipped more than skimmed to 70% and the leads still had not gotten back together. The dialogue between the characters is so ridiculous and unrealistic. I don’t understand who read this and gave it more than 2 stars. SEX SCENES - I have no idea. There were none by 70% even though during their teen relationship they were each other’s firsts. There were several kissing scenes but always short lived because…terrible writing.
Couldn’t stand the main characters..H was a major douche and just hurtful in the way he continued to treat the h. And the h was just a joke. Can’t stand a h who has no back bone.
This second chance/enemies to lover’s romance was amazing. I read this book in one sitting. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. I was sucked into this story. Jace and Faith were everything. Their relationship will take you on such an emotional ride and I loved that. I love stories that make you feel what the characters are feeling and this was it. I highly recommend Jace and Faith’s story to everyone.
I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Faith and Jaces was a tough emotional pill to swallow. This book dives deep into turmoil of Faith and Jace that as much as I wanted them together and just have a normal conversation about owning there choices I also got to the point I wanted kick them in the head. These two loved each other so much and so hard that it was heartbreaking when Jace broke both there hearts but what Faith does after I’m not a fan of at all. For 5 years these two have been through the ringer and when they finally see each other again it’s the total opposite of a warm welcome. This was a super slow burn, high angst and was written so well that your emotions bled over the pages along with the H&h.
Thank you Ashley for bringing me out of my book funk, I was reading but not reading and I kept thinking what is up with me. Omg I became I felt a shadow in the book. I was in there trying to see into Faith’s (Pip) and Jase’s minds and I couldn’t get enough. I love how your male characters seem to me, to be so real and I love seeing things from their perspective. To me there was never a question of there still being love between Faith & Jase, it was whether they could trust themselves to be who they were now and how they felt or have trust in the other one to show them the real them Jase was honest as the sun rises every morning and I hurt that he hurt and he had been dealt such a raw deal in life, and especially by who had done it to him. I can’t imagine the hurt he went through in the space of one year, and still kept it all to himself I love how I seem to connect with your male hero’s, don’t get me wrong I love your female characters, but to me this story was as much about Jase as it was about Faith. I never reread a book straight away, but I am this one. I raced through it whilst I could in the brief moments I could. In what is the most bizarre of circumstances going on in our world today and never having seen what is happening actually happen, this was my place to lock out or the doom and gloom. Thank you for allowing me to receive and early copy of Tennessee Truths, I now love the title more so now I have read and thank you also for bringing this story this town and the people in it to my reading world. Amazing 😉😍I love it, I loved it, and the angst I felt all the way through made it so worthwhile. I wanted it to keep going. But all good things come to an end. Kathryn Lopez, I can never thank you enough for bringing Ashley and her books to my attention. A new author, new stories and new friends.😍
My first Ashley Munoz book and definitely will not be my last. Loved being transported to a small town in Tennessee, where our FMC runs back home desperate to get away from her billionaire husband whose violence against her has ratcheted up in severity. Faith’s husband Bryan was a major shit bag who puts his hands on her one last time before she calls her best friend, Gemma to come and get her. I love reading about strong female friendships. We all need that one friend like Gemma who’ll come pack your designer shoes on her lunch break. She was great comic relief and I’d love more of her story. Our MMC, Jace, Faith’s first love, came off so mean to Faith each time they would come upon each other in town. Sparks would fly and, I get he was hurt and was hiding the truth about their ending, but some of the barbs were pretty sharp and I didn’t think Faith deserved it. Once he finally got his ducks in a row and made his play for Faith the truth had gotten out and the Ex finds her. Watch trigger warning. There was the DV element and though I’d say it’s a tame representation of DV, some may find the subject alone too much. I really enjoyed Munoz’s writing style and the push pull I felt while reading kept me wanting more.
The boy I'd once known was gone. Wheter he had let me go or I'd given up too easily... it didn't matter. A monster had found me, and now I was nothing but a walking nightmare.
Jace and Faith's story starts in school and it is the sweetest beginning. Soon they go on separated paths, and the truth behing the separation is ugly. When they meet again after five years there's so much resentment, and also so much making fun of what Faith was, has become, is... All because of broken hearts.
Pride comes first now.
Faith was so lovable as a girl and is still. However, when she swore to herself at taking matters in her own hands, I nearly cheered out loud. It was about time. I loved Jace as a boy, I wasn't very keen of him as a man.
The hurt is evident, almost palpable. And it's constant through the whole story. There is no way you don't feel for Faith, cheer for her. The writing is so got at presenting how broken she is, you can feel it in every fiber of your being. It makes you want to take her hand and make things right for her.
Tennessee Truths is full of twists, turns and shocking revelations, and it's heavily packed on the emotion side. You're going to love it.
I apologize, I did not like this at all. Whole thing could have been dealt with in a 10 minute conversation. Both characters were TDTL, and believed what other's told them about each other. For being a couple that found true love they sure didn't have faith in one another. Skimmed the last 30%.
Tennessee Truths is a perfect example of why I love Ashley Munoz. Everything about this book was perfect. Munoz has once again left me feeling everything and needing more. Jace and Faith were just amazing. When I start an Ashley Munoz 'book I have high expectations, and I swear with each book she exceeds them and raises the bar higher for the next one. I was hooked from the first page to the last page. The only reason I stopped reading this book is because my eyes just wouldn't stay open anymore.
Faith Vanderson is running back to the one place she had no intention of every going back to. Five years ago she left Collierville Tennessee with a broken heart, and landed in the arms of Tennessee's richest bachelor. Her life became diamond rings and paparazzi. To the outside world it looked like she had it all, but sunglasses hide more than the sun. The once strong, fierce, sassy girl is no more.
Jace Walker finally has his life in order. He's running his own garage and building his future. He's spent the last five years angry and bitter. He's never gotten over Faith, but learned to live without her. Jace is no longer the boy he was five years ago.
When they come face to face Jace and Faith are viatole from the very first second they reunited and grew more so with each time they saw each other. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for when they are in love with each other. Both are so blinded by anger from their past they can't see what's right in front of them.I could not stop reading. I HAD to know what happened next.
I love second chance romance because they are filled with just so much emotion both happy and sad. I love then I can feel their emotions and Munoz does this with Tennessee Truths. I don't think there was a single moment in this book where I didn't feel what these characters were feeling.
Tennessee Truths is filled betrayal and lies, it seemed as if every person had something they were hiding. Munoz reminds us that things are not always as they look from the outside, and also that our decisions have consequences that affect not only us but those we love the most.
Tennessee Truths is a beautifully well written book, that he me completely captivated and left me in emotional turmoil. These characters are absolutely amazing and I couldn't help but love them. Everything about this book is perfect! I cannot recommend this book enough!!
5 PIP AND FOOL STARS!! Love, Love, love this book!! You know those books that grabs you and holds on until the last word....this is that book. Jace and Faith will touch every part of your heart with all the feels. This is my first book by this author and I can't wait to read more.
I’m sorry but I could not stand Jace, our hero of this book, he just played the victim card too many times. Did he get a bad hand in life? No question. Does that allow him to blame others for what he did? Not at all.
Faith and Jace were middle/ high school sweethearts with plans to go to college together. Jace even got her a promise necklace with his vow to one day to propose to Faith. Then one day Jace dumps Faith. Now we fast forward about 5 years and things have happened, Jace is working as a mechanic in their small town and Faith left town and married a billionaire, Bryan. However, Faith’s life isn’t as grand and loving as it seems and she comes home to get away from abusive Bryan.
Honestly the only person in Faith’s corner was her bestie, Gemma; even her parents chose the abusive Bryan over their daughter’s safety which almost led to Faith being hurt multiple times. So while Faith is dealing with a public divorce, deranged husband and inconsiderate parents, she has to deal with Jace’s attitude. And boy did that man have a hissy fit every time he saw her and then had the audacity to get upset when she turned down his dinner date invite; meanwhile, he never treated her kindly, he even ripped off her necklace that he gave her.
So basically Faith spends the whole book trying to get independence from Bryan, get a divorce, be safe, and deal with Jace’s bipolar ass. He really did blame her and her family for all his problems and while that was partially true NONE of it was Faith’s fault.
Why was Jace so angry? Jace’s mother, June, was very sick and in pain and since they were poor they couldn’t afford her pain prescription. So Jace decided to steal from the pharmacy and blame it on the new guy. Unfortunately for him, since he did it a few times he was caught on camera and was blackmailed by Faith’s father. He wanted Jace to dump Faith and he would make the tape disappear so he did as requested. Again luck was not on Jace’s side because Faith’s father betrayed him once her engagement was announced and sent Jace to jail to prevent him from breaking up her relationship. June overdosed on pain pills while he was jail and Faith married Bryan, which seemed to kill something inside Jace. Why does Jace hate Faith? Because he blamed her for everything bad that happened to him: jail time, missing his mother’s funeral, but most importantly because she dared to move on after their breakup.
Firstly, he committed the crimes without telling anyone so not sure how that’s Faith’s fault. Secondly, his mother dying while tragic that wasn’t the first time she overdosed on pills. Thirdly, he’s got a lot of nerves to break Faith’s heart and be mad that she moved on after he annihilated her.
Faith never knew anything about Jace’s troubles, she didn’t have any contact with the small town once she left because she was heartbroken over Jace. In my opinion, Jace was emotionally abusive to Faith throughout the book even as kids, he was her bully because she didn’t fall at his feet like other girls and he wanted her attention.
Then when he finally learns the dark truth about her marriage, he basically demands they be together after he brutally rejects her multiple times. When she doesn’t give in right away he gets butt hurt again and turns into dick mode.
Honestly that how the whole book went if things didn’t go Jace’s way he would take his anger out on Faith and she would either take it or dish it back. Then he would feel sorry or either his family or best friend would tell him he was being a dick then he would go apologize. Then he would pull random accusations out of thin air like accuse Faith of trying to steal his business because she drew him a better logo for the garage, like wtf?
Then we have Faith’s parents setting up secrets meetings with Bryan without Faith knowing and getting her hurt. Then of course, Jace sees Faith and Bryan and automatically assumes she has been playing him, when she basically runs to him begging him to not leave her alone with Bryan, Jace walks away. Jace does this a few times actually sees Bryan and Faith together, knowing about the abuse and leaves her there unprotected assuming she played him.
I just couldn’t stand Jace, I almost hated Jace more than Bryan because at least Bryan got what was coming to him.
Then in the end Faith has to prove herself to Jace? Come the f*ck on, girl should have took her millions and her bestie, Jace’s family and bounced.

A hidden weakness twisted the face of love into hideous anguish ...
... and put a benign mask onto the face of the one who betrayed them.
In the lead up to its release, there were so many gorgeous teasers about for Tennessee Truths. They had invoked so much emotion in me that I didn’t realise just how much I’d anticipated this book until I started reading the first page and burst into tears. My family looked at me as if I were some sort of idiot for wanting to invite this amount of anguish into my life! I love books from this author, and I love second chance romances. So, for me it was a no-brainer.
I have no idea how Ms. Munoz does it. Right from the start, she created an undercurrent of secrets, and damn it if I wasn’t hooked to the stage where murder would’ve happened if a family member had stepped between me and my need to read, paper towels for tears, at the ready.
Even as Ms Munoz laid open the hearts of Faith and Jace and stripped them bare, she did the same to me. I felt so much sorrow and pain, so much ‘loss’ for these two.
I loved everything about this couple and I choked on the anguish and despair that I felt at the apparent hopelessness of their situation. And while I had my suspicions, I was as clueless as they were, so I needed to know what the hell had happened between them, all the while knowing I didn’t want the story to end. The is a story of triumph over weakness.
Faith maintained an internal strength that I absolutely admired. In the face of continued betrayal, undeserved anger and let-downs, she took it all quietly and stoically, only showing her true despair to her one staunch supporter, and it disappointingly wasn’t Jace.
I did love his broodiness however, his unending love for Faith and his absolute love for his mother. His was an impossible situation, but for a moment, I was disappointed in him. He left Faith vulnerable. I had to have a think about my reaction to Jace for a day or two before posting my review, and I came to the conclusion that Ms Munoz wrote him as the damaged man that he was, perfectly.
What an amazing read. I felt knackered for someone who’d just been sitting and reading, but holy crap, what an epic second-chance love story. A highly recommended book and well worth more than a measly 5 Stars!
"There was something so deliriously beautiful about being seen by Jace Walker."
Faith Morgan is back in her home town carrying her secrets close to her chest. She's not prepared to come face-to-face with the love of her teenage life. And, she's wholly unprepared for his enmity. As the days go by and their paths keep crossing, the past slowly unravels between them.

He has no idea why she's back, he only knows that she's no longer his. When truths start coming to light bit by bit, hope starts to flare that they could finally pick up where they left off but, unfortunately, Faith's other life keeps intruding and setting them back.
"I wanted Faith. I wanted her heart, her soul, her body, and every single future kiss from those delicious lips."
I really liked the beginning of the story when Jace and Faith were young teenagers. They had a fantastic connection and I loved how passionate they were about one another. Once we'd fast forwarded into the future, we start to untangle just what has happened in the five years previously. Jace is bitter and Faith is broken but there's no denying the ever-present connection and torch they still carried for one another, no matter how hard they might try to fight it.
I thought that this story was compelling reading but, at times, I must admit that I found it a really frustrating read! The characters needed to just freakin' talk to one another honestly and openly. There were too many times I felt like screaming at them, especially Jace. He was so quick to believe things about Faith at face value rather than really stop and think about what he really knew about her and her character. I felt sorry for both of them and all the machinations that kept them apart but, yes, I kinda wished that Jace had had slightly different reactions to some of the situations in the story. This was my first book by this author and I'd definitely read another.
This book is soooo good, it kept me captivated and enthralled in the story! I love the strength that Faith had while going through the journey that her life took her on... She’s definitely someone to admire because she has always got back up again and picked up the pieces of her life and moved on...
But In moving on, that wasn’t always easy because there were so many unanswered questions and only one person who could answer them... JACE!
Jace is beyond complicated and does what he thinks is the right thing by protecting Faith... but is he really protecting her?
You’ll have to read this book to find out. It was so unexpected with the plot and had me hooked I promise, don’t let the amount of days it took me to read this fool you. I just have a busy life. When I could read this book I didn’t put it down having it attached to my face at all times lol
I am just speechless...this story was so amazing. By far one of my most favorite reads to date. More than halfway through the book I was literally ranting to Ashley Munoz herself because I was just beside myself and I needed to vent...please see below for said rant: ****************** Oh my lanta Lady, what are you doing to me?? I’m 86% through and I can’t think of one book I’ve had to put down so many times because I wanted to a) throw my kindle b) scream and shake a character c) cry, like full on tears d) get my heart rate back down because of all the dang stress and anxiety You are breaking me and I am loving every minute of it 😂 Ok, I’m done my rant. I’m going back to reading. ****************** Seriously, this book is a must read. So many emotions, angst, twists and turns. I am hoping there will be a follow up book or two because there are several secondary characters that I loved and think their stories would be amazing as well.
I know I've said this before but this time it's true. This book is by far my favorite of Ashley's.
This book is not what you'd expect. Faith is such a strong character and I admired her strength of stepping away when she needed to. Sometimes we make choices when we're younger and Faith is no different. She's vulnerable yet strong.
And don't even get me started with Jace. I could go on about him forever. Filled with secrets of his own, he's strong willed, protective, top notch swoon worthy. He's everything you want in a book boyfriend.
The secrets and truths buried between both Faith and Jace simmer under the surface and you can feel it with every turn of the page.
I couldn't put this book down. This is Ashley Munoz at her best.
