Gage I lost my first love. This time, I'm going to win the second girl who owns my heart—no matter the stakes. Being the drummer for Raging Chaos is the only thing that’s kept me going for the past six years. Even the music isn’t enough to drown out the guilt that's been suffocating me since what happened to Tori. When Sadie storms into my life, ripping through my trepidations, sorrows, and bitterness, I can't help but wonder if she could be my second chance. I could love her, but in order to do that, I have to stop hating myself first. Easier said than done. Before I have the chance to mend this broken heart, I push Sadie away and hit rock bottom. The next time I see her, she has a baby. And if that's not hurtful enough, it's not just any baby. It ’s my baby.
Sadie Bleeding hearts can still beat. I'm living proof of that. At first, Gage was just someone to take away the pain—until I realized he was battling demons of his own. I never meant to get too close to the devil with the drumsticks, but once I did, he shoved me out of his life with a force. My heart might be cracked, but his is completely broken. And trying to save him would destroy us both. So, I do the right thing and I walk away—not only to protect me but also our unborn baby. I had no idea who Gage was to the world when I slipped into his bed. Now that I'm out of it, it's clear he’ll have to clean up his act before he’s father material. But then we meet again, and I'm reminded of the man he could be. The man he was born to be, before tragedy struck and the chaos left his heart barely beating.

I knew this book would hurt; I just knew it would cause me massive amount of pain. It was built up throughout the series and we knew what we were going to get but we also had no idea why so many of the events occurred.
If you have read the previous books, then you know that Gage suffers from drug addiction for years ever since his first love and high school girlfriend killed herself. We never found out why she did it and we finally get the answers we are looking for and I wish it would have been different. She hangs herself and leaves Gage a letter explaining why, a letter he has kept for years and rereads. She admitted that her stepfather rapes her and her mother refuses to believe her and since he is in a position of power she will never be believed and fears what he will do and the last confession? She was pregnant, she did not know who the child belonged to and that was the last straw for her.
Gage after this is no longer the same, he lost so much that night. He turns to drugs and alcohol. For years he used it as a crutch and the only way he could function was high.
Years later before he overdoses and attempts to kill himself, he meets our FMC who he sees at the cemetery mourning her husband and son (who died in a car crash cause her husband was an addict as well) and a day prior to their death she had a miscarriage. She lost everything and fell into Gage's bed to numb the pain. They use each other but Gage feels her embedding herself into his life too much and attempts to push her away which is where the gray area cheating occurs.
Gray area cheating: He goes to the club and gets extremely high on cocaine and heroin, brings back two girls and she sees him being serviced by one and she leaves with no fuss. They were never in a relationship and just sleeping together which is why this is gray area cheating. Gage also was so high that he doesn't remember much of what happened, but he is disgusted with himself for how he handled it all. She finds out she is pregnant right around the time he overdoses to kill himself and decides to save herself the heartbreak of dealing with another addict and never tells him.
When their daughter is born, he has been released from rehab and has been clean for 10/11 months at this point and finds out about everything.
They deal with their problems; she has massive trust issues but overcomes it all and they get back together.
Honestly, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and Gage relapse at some point, but he was strong. He was determined to be a better man and a great father to the child he had and make up for years of pain he had accumulated.
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: second chance Angst: 😱😱😱😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Anyone familiar with the series knew this story was going to be a doozy and Nikki did not disappoint. Completely guts you and slowly pieces you back together even better than before. The FMC is an inspiration in her ability to thrive in the face of adversity and demand what she’s worth. Definitely a roller coaster of emotions and if you’re a sensitive reader, you may want to take a look at the triggers. It definitely deals with some heavy topics, but does it in a respectful way. Great conclusion to what’s been a fantastic series!
Bleeding Chaos is the highly anticipated last book in the Love & Lyrics series! This series has followed different members of the band, Raging Chaos. I highly recommend reading the first three books in the series to truly understand Gage's choices in this book, along with appreciating his journey towards sobriety.
Gage is the drummer. He's been on a downward spiral ever since he lost his high school girlfriend during senior year in a traumatic way. He never seemed to recover, and even years later he is losing himself in alcohol, hard drugs and women. One day, while visiting the cemetery, he finds Sadie (the heroine) sobbing over a few gravestones. Gage is in no place to help anyone else, but he decides to take her back to his apartment because she refuses to go home. These two end up drowning their sorrows in sex. It doesn't take long before Gage realizes he's not in a place for a new relationship. He sabotages their relationship, leading to Sadie leaving him. Gage's spiral ultimately ends in a suicide attempt. Sadie's journey ends in a baby she refuses to tell Gage about after realizing how bad things were for him.
I loved that the author let us see Gage on his sobriety journey in the beginnings of the book. The use of time jumps was really effective. Sadie's reasons for not telling Gage about the baby were absolutely valid, especially when you learn how she lost previous family members. Once Gage realizes he has a baby, he is all in. It takes them awhile to learn to trust each other again, but once they do, their love blossoms! It wasn't easy, but it was worth it to see Gage prove to Sadie that he took his sobriety seriously and wanted to create a family with her and his daughter.
Love and Lyrics has been an amazing series! Gage's book was definitely my favorite because I loved seeing Gage confront his demons and become a healthy person who realized he was worthy of the love around him. Definitely check out this series!
TROPES: secret baby; rockstar; love after heartbreak; hero/heroine with emotional trauma; rich/famous hero; pierced hero (hehe); no 3rd act breakup; found family; hero on a sobriety journey; last book in the series
TRIGGER WARNINGS: The author has a complete list of triggers for each book in the series on her website. She includes the link to her website in the author's note at the beginning of the e-book. You can find them here: https://authornikkiash.com/triggerwar...
I hate the H pining for the dead ex trope. This is another book where almost everyone dies. The fmcs husband, 4yo son and her 26 week in utero baby. The H’s hs sweetheart and Mom. Too much death and grief. So they meet at the cemetery where the H rescues the h from overbearing grief by looking after her well being. This morphs Into an addictive sexual relationship where they go at it like rabbits per the words on the page. They are exclusive for at least 3 months —- but they didn’t say the words—- this is straight up Bill Clinton alibi style writing. Anyway the H is still hung up on his high school sweetheart who has been dead for 6 years. When his friend is hoping he is finally moving on and states that , the H premeditated a plan to get high and and have a threesome in his living room to drive the h away…. Sure the author constantly tries to back pedal this happening for the safety squad that hates cheating by blaming it on the H’s drug addiction… but the dude thought this through and planned it after moving the h into his home for 3 months and sleeping and holding her all night and having sex with only her day and night for 3 months. Sorry not buying it … this was cheating. —- it’s okay I like a good cheating book….. but you wasted alot of good angst by trying to blame it on drugs and saying there was no relationship between the mcs. Any way that was the best part of the book. The rest was okay… boring in places and I skimmed a lot. Too much death, too much stuff about drug addiction and not enough romance and feel good feelings.
Idk something about Nikki Ash books just hit different.
She’s one of the only authors who can write surprise pregnancy books that end up actually being good. It’s a hard trope to master but she definitely did.
These characters didn’t feel as in love as all her other characters though, that’s why I docked half a star.
Sadie Ruiz and Gage Sharp are absolutely heartbreaking. Before I get any further, I need to mention that there's death (self-inflicted and more), substance abuse and addiction, attempted suicide, grief, so much grief, and more. Tissues are definitely a necessity. There's healing and growing, but it comes neither quickly nor easily, and the price is steep.
The first book in the series was dark with some tough to swallow scenes, but I think this makes it look like fluffy clouds with a tinge of gray. This is a full-on storm.
They are flawed and realistic. Right or wrong, seeing them struggle with different decisions and events makes them relatable. I could go into detail, but I don't want to spoil anything. Despite the darkness, it's a good book that has some cute moments, along with some naughty fun. (He's pierced! 🍆🩷🔥 )
I listened to this as part of the Love & Lyrics audio boxset. The narrators are Gregory Salinas and Kelsey Navarro. I liked both.
Another surprise pregnancy/secret baby win for Nikki Ash!
If I'm being honest, I've been wanting to read Gage's story since the very first book! I actually put it down while I was reading it to come and check Goodreads to make since Gage had a book!
And it was better than I could have imagined! Nikki did such an incredible job putting into words to grief Gage went through and the spirals it took him through!
And then when he met Sadie. Ohhhh! MY! GOOOSH! They were such an incredible match! And I love that even when Gage pushed Sadie away, she still saw a good man under his fight with grief and addiction!
Sadie's story was so sad. I'm not sure I would have been able to leave the cemetery either if I knew what I was leaving behind! Sadie was an incredibly strong h. With a beautiful heart. Her ability to forgive Gage and slowly let him in even after everything she'd had been through only made me love her more!
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't waiting for the moment Gage's character had a relapse, but I was SO GLAD Nikki kept him clean. She kept his character so consistent, and once he decided he had more to live for, he stay clean! For himself and his family!
I did love these two characters together so much! And sweet Rory! It was the perfect way to end the series!!
•Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ •Plot:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ •Humor: 🫠 •Spice:🌶 •Pace: Pretty fast •Ending: HEA
•Tropes: Rockstar romance, love after loss, second chance, secret baby, battle through addiction, strong FMC, found family
•TW: loss of loved ones, addiction, drug use, sobriety journey, suicide, late miscarriage
Bleeding Chaos (Love and Lyrics) by Nikki Ash is the fourth book in this unputdownable rock romance series. I couldn't wait for Gages' book. He was always in the background, literally, as the Raging Chaos drummer that was tragically sad, and lost on drugs. He meets Sadie, whose own heart is horrendously broken. The two fall into a relationship to drown out their respective pain. Gage went into self-destruction mode, falling into a downward spiral of depression and drug abuse, causing him to decimate his relationship with Sadie. The two lost souls find themselves on a second-chance collision course, if they can navigate through their pain. Can they heal from their heartbreaking pasts and get a much-deserved HEA? I LOVED EVERY BOOK in this rock romance series. This heartfelt and emotion-packed story is not to be missed. You can read this Bleeding Chaos as a standalone, but I recommend reading the entire series to understand the bands' dynamics. This series is a total binge read.
From the very beginning I knew that Gage's book was going to be emotional. And saving him for last only reiterated that to me. And I was right but what I didn't expect was to have both the hero and shero* put me through the ringer. Gage is drowning his grief in the rock star trifecta - women, booze and drugs. Sadie is grieving the loss of everything due to addiction. Both are at their rock bottom for different reasons while addiction plays a roll in both but in different was. I respected how we got to see both sides of addiction in this one - those deep in it and those affected by it.
I loved how these two were drawn to each other. How they found comfort with each other in their grief. Gage saved Sadie in more ways than one without him even knowing it. It was beautiful to see. Gage had to save himself and forgive himself first and when he finally did, he was finally able to be the amazing man everyone knew him to be. It was truly amazing. I am beyond said that this series is over. It was such a fun ride. Love these Chaos boys and the women that brought them to their knees so much. Great ending to a great series.
*I saw this term used in someone else's review and I am appropriating it. I liked it.
I'll start this off saying that it was a good book. However, I felt that while readying it, it was to short there was no real development of the characters. I also felt that the ending was a bit anticlimactic for being the last book in the series.
The series starting off good , but I feel like as the books went on the got worse and worse.
I love nikki ash , she is one of my all time favourite writers but I feel like that the earlier books written by her are a better read.
As a standalone book it was defos a good book , I would defos reread the book as well , cause it was an enjoyable read.
It breaks my heart to rate this 2.5⭐️ because Nikki is one of my favorite authors, but I didn’t really enjoy it.
Gage suffers from drug addiction and overdoses. Around the same time, he meets the FMC at the cemetery mourning her husband and son. She lost everything and both her and Gage turn to each other to numb the pain. But for Gage it becomes to much so he pushes her away by bringing two women to his apartment (he’s high on cocaine). So this has “gray area cheating” since they were just sleeping around, but still I didn’t fucking like it. Gage doesn’t remember much of what happened since he was high.
I did love Sadie and my heart broke for all she went through. Gage also suffered and he went through a lot before he was ready to move on, but idk I still felt like this book was missing something. The story felt rushed and the “cheating” was unnecessary tbh. Idk it bothered me and once that happened, I just couldn’t connect with the character anymore!
I cried like a baby for both Gage and Sadie. They have been through so much. Sadie lost everything and I mean everything that mattered to her in 24 hours.
Gage found his girlfriend after she took her own life. Gage notices Sadie when he is at the cemetery.
There is so much heartbreak in this book. But Sadie and Gage find their way to each other as they heal.
The fourth and final book Bleeding Chaos from Nikki Ash's Love and Lyrics series brings readers Gage and Sadie’s heart wrenching story.
Two broken individuals who’ve both experienced love and loss are brought together in less than ideal circumstances where they recognise the pain in one other.
Gage’s tragic past has left him using both alcohol and drugs on a daily basis, he’s what you’d call a functioning drug addict, as for Sadie her own tragedies are more recent, when Gage first sees her he's drawn towards her, he recognises her pain and suffering, that’s how their journey begins, they spend their nights in one another's arms growing closer, using alcohol, drugs and sex to erase the memories that torture them on a daily basis, however Gage’s self destructive behaviour sees him going to far one night resulting in Sadie walking away which sees him spiral even further. Time passes and despite having lost their way, Gage and Sadie are reunited along with some unexpected surprises, and this is where their healing journey continues to progress, together as well as individually.
Deep, raw and emotional, this one cuts to the bone. It’s a journey of grief, self-forgiveness and second chances but there’s also heartwarming sweet moments along with some hotness thrown in that will have your pulse racing. I'm sorry that it’s all over for the Love and Lyric series, yes there’s been struggles and sorrow along the way but there’s also been laughter, love, friends and family. I highly recommend you read this book, in fact the whole series is an absolute must read.
Gage!! I have been waiting for his story and it did not disappoint! This was an emotional read and I would definitely be aware of the trigger/content warnings as it’s very deep at times. However the story was beautiful!
If you’ve read any of the other stories in the series you know what happens to Gage’s high school girlfriend Tori. Years later Gage is still dealing with the grief and devastation of losing her. Unfortunately he’s not dealing with it the way he should be.
Sadie is also dealing with her own unspeakable grief. Her story is so devastating and heartbreaking. The two start a relationship built on escaping reality and pain but eventually when the reality hits one isn’t ready to deal with it. Their story takes places over a couple of years and as time goes on they have to learn to deal with the consequences of their choices, the pain of their pasts and learn how to move forward and accept the things they can’t change. Building trust and faith in someone new when their heart has already been shattered beyond what they think can be repaired.
based on the other books on this series, i was expecting Gage’s story to show his addiction in more detail and oddly enough, i’m okay with that. i liked the story line even though it was fast-paced but what I didn’t like was MAYBE SPOILER!!!!!!! that Kaylee had to put her two cents in and tell Sadie about how Gage’s support system is in new york and that Sadie should move back there even though Sadie needed to be out of New York mentally and physically and i just didn’t appreciate Kaylee doing that. I would’ve much preferred Sadie and Gage talking about it or Sadie coming making the decision on her own.
Other than that, Sadie’s past absolutely broke my heart, she really went through so much. Gage did as well, but i knew his past because of the other books so i had time to adjust to that but hearing Sadie’s story ripped my heart out. please check trigger warnings before reading this book!!!
Gage has been that character throughout the series that I've wanted more from.
He has the most tragic beginning in the series with the death of his girlfriend in high school, and ever since has turned to drugs, alcohol and women to deal with the grief.
He meets Sadie when she is at her absolute lowest, and she's overcome with pain and suffering.
The journey that both of these characters take is not an easy one. Gage especially has to work through a lot before he is ready for his life to move on, and even then, it's not always smooth sailing.
I would have loved to see more of an overall series ending, as it felt like some things were not quite finished.
Overall, I have really enjoyed this series. I hadn't read any books by Nikki before, but I will definitely be picking up more in the future 🩷
I hate reading these books because I feel like I always want more of these couples. Every time I read a book by this author, I just want to read more of these stories I think I’m obsessed. At first I didn’t want to read this book because it has things in it that I didn’t think I would enjoy it but I read it and I got to say is the best book I read in a while, and I can’t wait to read more by this author
"I received a free copy with no obligation to review"
To say that this story puts it's reader through the wringer would be an understatement. Wow it is unbelieveable that two people could go through so much loss, hurt and pain and come out the other side still alive but definitely not living.
We know about Tori's death from the first book in the series but here we learn a lot more about the truth of her death and the devastating impact it has had on Gage's life with his band. When Gage meets Sadie in the graveyard he recognises a kindred spirit but Sadies is in a worse state than he is. Gage manages to persuade Sadie to stay with him and they become a great comfort to each other, until a remark from a band member sends Gage into a downward spiral. Refusing to be involved with another drug addict Sadie disappears without a trace.
The next part of the story is even more emotional as these two shattered souls find themselves connected by a little human who is part of both of them. Gage finds himself needing to become a better man and Sadie wants to learn to trust him to be a father to their daughter.
Their journey is difficult and painful both both have their daughter as their inspiration to overcome their demons and create a happy life for the three of them.
This series has ended on what I would like to say is a high note because of how good this book is, but on the flipside I think it is probably the most emotional and difficult to read book of the series. I was very impressed with Nikki's writing in this one and I am now encouraged to seek out more of her books having concluded the Love and Lyrics series.
Sooo, this was an emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions. When I say I bawled for these characters, I did so, with all the blubbering and everything. These characters deserved so much and fought their way out of a life that left them broken. Gage's redemption story was amazing and I really enjoyed how he manned up for all the right reasons!
Bleeding Chaos by Nikki Ash is a secret baby rock star romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Gregory Salinas and Kelsey Navarro. This is the fourth book in the Love and Lyrics series.
I absolutely love Nikki's books! I can't help but binge them in one sitting. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Gage and Sadie. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Gregory and Kelsey did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like secret baby romances, rock star romance, or contemporary romances.
This one was such an emotional and angsty read, but oh my gosh, I'm so glad Gage got his happy ending. I cried a few times while reading this and it pulled on the heartstrings just right. I loved it.
Tropes: - Second Chance - Secret Baby - Grief/Healing - Overcoming Addiction - Found Family - Rockstar Romance
Oh my goodness! The amount of times I cried during this book is insane. Nikki Ash took us on a roller coaster of angsty emotions with Gage and Sadie’s story. Never did I think they would make me cry so much. I was rooting so much for them. I definitely loved them and Rory, their daughter, so much! Truly one of Nikki Ash’s best stories! I can’t wait for her next book!
I knew going’s into this book it was going to be hard to get through. Gage had kind of been mostly in the background in previous books until the last one. I’ve had so many’s questions about Tori and her death. What were the consequences that led there and we finally get all the answers in this story.
This whole story is heartbreaking and emotional. It will bring you to tears. It’s a story of addiction and recovery.
My thoughts go straight to Sadie. Her bleeding heart and broken soul. She was destroyed and damaged but still so strong.
Gage has blamed himself for everything. He doesn’t feel like he’s worthy of a HEA. Sadie is lost and alone. He helps her find herself again but in the process losses himself more.
She captured my heart Broken, bleeding It was useless, barely beating But with one look, one touch, she brought me back to life.
This series has been amazing. I’m so glad I discovered this author.
I knew going into this book it would be incredibly emotional. There was one scene that was especially hard for me because it’s something that happened with someone close to me but I was able to get through it and I was glad that I did.
I love Gage and Sadie so much and loved their story. They were exactly what the other person needed and though their story was rough at first, they were able to get through it which just made their HEA even better in the end.
Oh, wow! Bleeding Chaos was such a heartbreaking read, but also full of hope and love! I adored this novel that made me feel an amalgam of powerful emotions! I was already so eager to know more about Gage and his story truly broke me at times. I found myself crying over his sad situation as well as Sadie's. This book was about two broken souls connecting and ultimately healing each other!
As usual with this series, I enjoyed getting more of the previous couples. The guys in the band are so much more than friends, more like brothers. Their support and love toward each other was fantastic. Bleeding Chaos was hands down my favorite book in the Love & Lyric Series and I'm a little sad to let go of these characters. But I'm sure Nikki Ash has new amazing characters to write about that I can't wait for!
