Finding my husband in bed with another woman was not how I planned to start my day.
Or homeless the next minute. And broke.
So, when a job comes my way from The Twilight Hotel—a paranormal hotel in midtown Manhattan that serves as a sanctuary and residence—I take it.
Cue in tattooed, sexy as sin, grumpy restaurant owner Valen who can’t do drama or high-maintenance women. The problem? He’s cruel and dangerous.
And he’s hiding something.
Rumors arise of a dark spell that would mean the hotel's closure, and I don’t know who I can trust. Do I have what it takes to fight this new evil? We’ll see.
Brace yourselves. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Ok, so I know it’s been several months (like, 8?) since I finished this, but I still remember the meat of the story. Which is pretty good, right? The beginning is great and that one scene with her soon-to-be-ex is hilarious. Then Leana lands another job, one more suited to her witchy nature. However, her new job/home is having a tiny problem. Ok, not tiny. It’s a murder problem and she’s not having any luck discovering the murderer.
This story and these characters are enough for me to consider the second book. The magic is interesting and the setting unique. Overall, it entertains, but it’s not a “holy shit” book. Well, maybe some revelations there toward the end make it so, but otherwise it’s just a nice easy escape from the real world. Leana does some stupid shit, but secondary characters are great found family. I’m curious about book 2 so I may pick it up some day.
This was a fun magic detective story. I liked the world building and the characters. Normally, I look for more romance, but I still found it. Very fun.
The starlight Witch mystery The story was clean and fresh. This paranormal mystery was truly a cute story! The story kept you guessing. The enemies-to-friends banter was great! I truly loved the revenge on the husband! I know I'm leaving this a little vague but I don't want to give away anything! This was definitely a story worth reading!
