United Reign: A Dark Mafia Romance

Rate this book
Dark Mafia romance

Theo

Everything we’ve built is crashing down around me.

I’m consumed by the darkness, my blood boiling with the need for revenge.

My wife is the only light in my life; she’s the very reason I keep on fighting.

They’re coming after me. And worse yet, they’re coming after her.

But let them come....

I’m waiting. We’re waiting.

To send them all back to the hell they crawled out of.

I just hope the city’s prepared.

Because New York’s never seen a war like this one.

Holly

My life changed the minute I crossed paths with him.

For better or worse. Those were the vows I took.

And right now, it’s for worse....

Whoever his enemies are, they’re looking for me.

But I’m not the same wallflower I was when I stepped off that plane at JFK.

I won’t go down easily. No, I’ll stay and fight alongside my husband.

We will reign over his kingdom. United.

As one.

This is book three of a trilogy. Book one, Devilish King , should be listened to first followed by book two, Unnasuming Queen .

Lost cause

I did not like the female lead in this series. She was so bloody annoying. She was the cause of most of their problems. She acted like a spoiled brat all the time, she did not give toss who was but in danger.
Husband is fighting a war trying to keep safe, all she does in whine all the time and put herself in danger.

No, cause I'm actually pissed at whatever the fuck that was. First of all, the FMC? Insufferable. Not that she was any better in the previous two books, but in this book, she was unbearable. Such a fucking brat putting herself in danger every chance she gets.

A shooting happens. What do we do? We say romantic notions. NOT THE TIME FOR THAT, YOU DUMB BITCH. Whenever she was in danger, she had to ask questions first, then escape. Like, girl, be so fucking for real now.

One moment, she had a fear of guns, and now she's shooting a guy in the foot for not letting her see her husband. What now? She was carrying guns like there was no tomorrow.

This review is very harsh, but I'm beyond pissed right now.

I have binged these 3 books in 2 days. They have been addictive and so much fun.

I love how quickly Holly embraced the ‘touch him and ☠️’ vibes and her push back on T, during his seriously crazy overbearing moments.

My only comment, I wanted them to be more united in this book. In all areas.

It was a great ending to this part of the series.

Looking forward to getting to the Neo and Angelica’s story to get some more answers 👀

I have no idea how people can be rating these books at such high levels. I’ll be real. I stuck with the entire series thinking it was only to get better. But it never did. The only good thing about it was the sex. That was the only good thing about these books. The only real imagery.

Everything else, I always felt lost and constantly lost track of where they were or what certain places were. It was almost like these characters didn’t have a personality. Like the FMC whole personality was him and the MMC whole personality was possessive. It’s not we ever got to see anything that was them?

Starting with Holly… she’s not a fierce mafia queen. If anything she’s a annoying cry-baby. I felt for her when she was SA’d but besides that, she could never string up strength to do rlly anything. She never learned to fight, she never learned to defend herself besides the 2 times she used a gun in the series. I understand she’s the good to Theo but she also needs to be feared. If anything she’s just respected but even then… she didn’t even have time to gain it bc Theo treated her like she was a fragile piece of glass.

Theo. Don’t get me started. Love at first sight. Love it.. cool. But then he didn’t have any type of character development whosoever. He was the same old violent person. Which I get he has to be in the world but even with his own family. He doesn’t respect them. Like his partnership with neo… his cousin it’s like he loves him right but we never get to see that. He doesn’t show anything towards him. He just yells at him 24/7 and yells at him for Holly’s fuck up. I actually rlly only felt connected to the side characters more than the main fucking characters.

I could care less about what happened to the MCs bc I know that it would be solved in a single page. It wasn’t dragged out across much of anything.

Overall, there’s some action. A lot of sex…unnecessary sex like I get that the author wanted to make this a erotic mafia romance but at least stick to the plot and stop making it all bout crybaby Holly. Theo and his mafia world is something I wanted to get into but it’s like the sex took main point.

The final instalment in the Valentino trilogy, United Reign picks up just after the events of Unassuming Queen. Theo and Holly travel back to New York and soon realise that they have a war on their hands. With The Clover on his tail, Theo must do all he can to protect his family while Holly must come to terms with the dangers of this life.

I adore this series! I know I say that every time Kylie releases a book, but she just excels at this genre of writing. The chapters change POV between Theo and Holly, we also even get a cheeky Reilly (from The Merge series) chapter this time too which was a treat. I love the short chapters and the easy writing style - it’s easy to fly through this book in no time. Lots of suspense built and sprinkled throughout with Kylie’s signature steam.

Fantastic ending to the series!

I am glad I am finished this stupid book series! And no I won’t be reading the rest!
I bought these books so I needed to read them!

This series was absolute trash with a sprinkle of pathetic!
I can’t believe people enjoy this shit! It was completely rushed and the writing was very childish!

Also of course she was going to call pregnant with all the unprotected sex they were having! Why was she that shocked! And the ending was so rushed like I would have loved for that to be more of a slow burn with the kidnapping!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

The amazing Kylie Kent certainly penned an exciting trilogy that I couldn't have loved more if I tried, and I'm ready to read the whole thing all over again. Untied Reign is the explosive conclusion to Theo & Holly's journey so despite the fact that I really dislike doing this, I have to add YOU MUST READ Devilish King (Book 1) & Unassuming Queen (Book 2) FIRST & IN ORDER. The whole trilogy has been filled with not only the INSANE heat of these two, but twists coming in hot, and trust me, they've been building & building throughout. Of course I have a question or two left about those things in the shadows but here's hoping the next book will satisfy the obsession LOL! Kylie Kent was a new to me author but I can say with everything in me, I'm going to read every last book (previous & future) since she's totally my jam! Anyway, that's enough of me, now it's your turn as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What an ending to this trilogy!

Back in New York, Holly isn’t processing what she did in Italy and Theo’s ignoring the news he got. But he does see the other Dons aren’t as happy he’s back and in one piece. While taking them out, Theo tries to be there for his wife too.

But Holly hates that she’s under house arrest and that Theo’s not telling her what’s going on. And meeting Theo’s half-sister didn’t help as she knows more of this world. But when Theo can end it all, he doesn’t take enough help and puts Holly’s sister in danger.

Theo and Holly get their happy ending in this third book in the trilogy.

I loved that Holly was more likely to listen when she knew what was going on than when Theo kept stuff from her. I do wonder if that trend continued in the future, or if Holly remained stubborn. And if Theo ever won out and they had another kid for him to try to get his girl.

This book showed more of the mafia side to the series and thank god for it. It was a consistent good ending for the trilogy.

I love how Holly was becoming even more protective now that she was trigger happy. She was slowly becoming the badass to love whether it was standing up for herself or just getting her way. And I loved that Theo was a proud bastard over it haha.

Izzy is one of the cutest kids ever written. I really love her relationship with everyone and Angelica is so adorable towards her so I’m way too excited for their book. But I genuinely think a lot of problems are solved if people listening to this literal child.

The epilogue has got me way too excited to get my hands on the second generation’s books.

The conclusions of all conclusions. United Reign is the final book in The Valentino Trilogy and all I can say is that this one had everything that you can imagine, secrets, suspense, murder, anger, surprises and love in the truest form. Holly and Theo are definitely King and Queen and no matter what happens nobody will stop them. The story is beautifully written and in this final installment, Kylie holds nothing back.

Holly and T have come a long way from their first meeting. She is not the shy woman that Theo fell in love with. In this book, she shows us that she can stand by her husband and fight for what she and they want. She is a force to be wrecked with, even T knows that he cannot stop her. All that she has gone through would be enough to have some running the other way, but Holly runs towards it, full force. T will not stop at anything to keep Holly safe and with what seems the world being against them he has a lot to deal with. With her by his side, can T stop this force that is trying to ruin them? He has unconditional love for Holly and everything that he does is for her and their life together. T is definitely swoon-worthy. He has had a lot of news lately that has him dealing with some things that he has no control over and that is something that T has a lot of trouble with. Will this cause turmoil within him? Will the force of the two of them be strong enough to fight and reign together?

The sisterly love that is between Holly and Reilly is so strong that no matter how far apart they are, they are still right there for one another. We also see a different side of Bray that is kicka$$.

You will be emotional reading this and your heart will not be the same after you finish this trilogy. I had a book a hangover for a while after finishing United Reign. I have read other mafia romances but this one is one of the best. I highly recommend grabbing this trilogy and a good chunk of time as you will not be able to just read one book at a time but binge the complete series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the third book in this series. You need to read Devilish King and Unassuming Queen first or you are going to be lost. This book is a dark romance and might contain some triggers for some readers. It also picks up right where Unassuming Queen left off. Theo and Holly are on their way back to New York and it does not take them very long to figure out that they have a big old war on their hands and the Clover on Theo's tail. Theo is a man who loves his family very much and he will do anything he can to protect them and keep them out of any harms way. Holly though has to come to terms with the danger of the life she has with Theo. There is a lot that goes on in this book and you will be on the edge of your seat for most of the book. I loved it so much and thought it was a great conclusion to this series.

Angst wise and idk series wise book 2 solos umm I think this book was nice in that it’s the end of their story so we get to see that which is always cool. It just got rlly repetitive for me and idk seeing Holly like slowly bend to dudes will wasn’t appealing like we had multiple convos abt how she wanted to keep teaching and he like pretty much automatically believe she’d be a sahm once they had kids and like she just never got a job again which like is so meh for me. I enjoyed neo in this book but just idk everything felt like so obvious I just missed book 2. Also whenever I randomly remember she’s austrilian and start reading shit in her accent I’m sorry it’s so funny. Rando quote I love:

Not that it’s any of your business, but I don’t plan on fucking breaking her.”
“Really? It wasn’t any of my business when I had to pick her up off the floor when she contemplated following you to the grave, because the thought of a life without you was too much for her. But yeah, sure, it’s none of my fucking business.”

Y’all know I’m a neo Stan

Now spoilers:

I didn’t like her being pregnant like I’m sorry. It was obvious and I just didn’t like how she was completely like I’m not ready to be pregnant I don’t want to be and he’s just like oh you’ll be a great mom like idk didn’t enjoy it. Also wtf is this like twin flame thing where like she feels pain and her twin does..felt odd. Lastly as much as I love her pulling guns on mfs again shit just began to be repetitive. Like T would say ohh don’t do ___ and she’d just immediately rebel like bro idk I want more.

I don't even know where to start.
okay so i had some expectations from the author and boy am i disappointed! I didn't think it was gonna be that bad of a series.

The story/plot was bland as fuck. The Mmc was likable enough but the fmc was the worst thing about this series.

She's a stage-20 clinger and the type
that won't let him do anything. She knows nothing, she doesn't know how to fight, how to protect herself but she wants to go to war with him. She wants to be there with him all the fucking time.I don't fucking get it. All she was a fucking liability to Theo. Half the shit happened bcoz she wants to stick to his ass. She wants all his time, all of his attention even when his best friend is in danger.
Girl would pick a fight with him bcoz he blinked his eyes too fast😮‍💨
One min she's all-- i wanna be with him, I am drawn to his darkness, blah blah blah and boom two sec later she's like "I can't do this.I can't, I can't keep doing this thing."
Wtf girl? Just decide what you really want.
Oohhhhhh and the petty shit she does to get back at him😵😵‍💫🫠.

Enough with the fmc, moving forward, I don't think this should've been a trilogy. There wasn't really anything other than the fmc going crazy every two chapters.
The supposed plotline was not there. There were barely any chapters about "the war" that was happening in the book.

In conclusion, i would not recommend wasting your time with the trilogy.

United Reign, The Valentino conclusion is here and holy heck what a thrilling and panty melting conclusion it was.
Theo and Holly are pure FIRE!

Continuing on from Unassuming Queen (Book 2), a war is coming for them.
Will Theo be able to protect his family?
How will Holly cope living in Theo's dangerous world?
And most importantly.....
Can Theo and Holly be united and reign over the city together?
Theo freakin Valentino - What a Man!!! He's hot as sin, ruthless, loyal, and so OTT alpha obsessive at times it is hilarious.
Holly - Damn girl talk about having your world turned upside down. But throughout this trilogy she has grown and accepted her new world to become the strong and supportive queen Theo needs by his side. Love her even if I am possibly a tad jealous of her. hehe.

I absolutely love this world and the characters Kylie Kent has created, and this conclusion was truly captivating from start to finish. It was suspenseful, emotional, humorous, steamy, sprinkled with action, and oh did I say STEAMY?!!!

LOVED IT!!! A Must Read Trilogy!!

Kylie has delivered an epic conclusion to Theo and Holly's journey from start crosses lovers from different worlds to royalty that will slay you in a heart beat if you jeopardise the one they love.

Holly really comes into her own in this book, she is still a bleeding emotional heart but she has found her strength, a fire that burns so brightly to love and protect not only Theo but her family. I love who she's grown into and how integral she has become in Theo's life, not just as a wife but as a partner.

Theo's commitment to Holly is unreal, his love and desire for her reach new heights. He has to battle between his head and his heart on many occasions but he begins to understand the power the owner of his heart wields.

This book will hit you where it hurts, make you heart race and soul bleed, Holly and Theo are the power couple, the King and Queen who will not be taken down by anyone. This is their time and they take it with everything they have.

Talk about a power couple! Theo may have been a mafia Don but his balls were in Hollys' purse. Yes, I said that out loud.

In the first book, you see how their connection develops and only grows stronger as the series goes on. I mean come on Holly sat in his seat at the cafe so he, in turn, in turn became obsessed with her. We all want that right? Okay, so I'm the only one. Then in book two not only have they grown stronger but their connection has gotten deeper. Was there a question about it? Maybe. In this trilogy, they have had everything thrown at them but instead of falling, they prevail. A hot couple that makes me want to wash myself in holy water after I read their "bedroom" time.

I have a lot of things I could say about this trilogy but I wont continue because I know I will spoil it and no one wants that.

I hate that this trilogy has ended because I loved reading about Theo and Holly but it's time to move on to other players in the game.

I loved the conclusion to Holly and Theo's story. This story was gripping and sexy with a ton of action and suspense. Holly is amazing. It was great to see her become a strong and fierce mafia queen. The connections between Holly and Theo is off the charts HOT!!! I love how fiercely the fight for each other. This book ties the entire trilogy together nicely. I do wish that there was a little more to the Clover storyline, though. I felt like it ended a little too quickly and need a little more action. Otherwise I absolutely loved this story and can't wait for Neo and Angelica's story!!

SAVAGE!!! Holly is AMAZING!!! United Reign is book 3 the final book of the Valentino Empire Series. Holly and Theo are fire!!! Their love is like a fairytale. All consuming. Theo is such a softy for her, but such an Intense Business Man “Mob Boss”. While Holly… just let’s her inner Queen free. She lets her crazy be known. Nothing will stop her from being with her Man!! I am so impressed with how much she has grown into herself. This series HITS THE SPOT !!! Mafia Dom , Savage Queen , Intense, Suspenseful,

United Reign by Kylie Kent is book three in the Valentino Empire trilogy. This continues the story of Theo and Holly. For this book you will need to read the two previous books 'Devilish King' and 'Unassuming Queen' before starting this one. This book brought their story home. We saw how they had grown, how their love grew and that they are a great team : King and Queen. Totally loved this book and it has a really great epilogue that for me just adds the cherry on top. Loved this trilogy and I want to read more from Ms. Kent.

This trilogy has been such a great read right from the start. I’m super sad to see the end of it. But if I have learned anything about Kylie’s books, it’s that this definitely isn’t the last we will be seeing of these amazing characters.

Holly has continued to get better throughout this series. Not only in her strength and growth as a person in general but also in showing she is the Queen to Theo’s King. Theo had one heck of a bombshell thrown on him in the last two books. As much as he doesn’t want to accept it, he definitely takes it in stride with Holly at his side helping him through it.

I look forward to getting to see bits and pieces of them both as this world continues to grow. Once again, Bravo Kylie!

Picking up just after the end of Unassuming Queen. Theo and Holly head back to New York and it soon becomes apparent to Theo at least that they are at war and everything he's built and loves is at risk.

I love how Holly asserts herself with Theo in this one and proves herself to be the queen she is. Showing she can't just survive in this world, with Theo at her side she can own it.

With a nice dash of action and Theos incredible steam this is one hell of a ending to the series. I love the snippets from Riley and the way we meet some of Theo's new family. I hope we get stories from a few of those in the future too :D

Amazing finale!

Kylie Kent gives us an absolutely amazing finale in this wonderful series! Holly and Theo's story is beautifully written with complex characters and plot twists that keep you turning pages throughout. So many ups and downs and all the feels feel like a rollercoaster and lead to a fantastic HEA for them. I loved reading this book and highly recommend this series. Don't miss out!!

The Valentino Empire trilogy concludes with this third and final book by Kylie Kent. Absolutely phenomenal writing style and storyline but what else can you expect from this author. Picking up where book two left off with the action, betrayal, drama and love and commitment continues. Holly and Theo were made for each other and this book continues to show more of why. They won’t let anything get in their way of their love. Long Live the Reign of the King and his Queen.

United Reign just rose the bar ... again...

The story arc is epically wrote, nothing is too big and yet everything is plausible. The feelings are off the charts and I have fallen so in love with these characters and I did not want to leave them... Thank god there will be other books in this world...

The emotions this book pulls from you vary, I went from anger to laughter to near tears to melting to oh boy to okay then so many times. Not once did I get the feeling I knew what was about to happen.

What a fantastic world Kent has created to help a reader escape

Such a good end to this trilogy. Holly and T are so much stronger for being united. Holly really comes in to her own in this book. Standing alongside her mafia boss husband and refusing to be denied access to his life.

And this had an adorably swoonworthy epilogue. I love when a trilogy really takes you on a journey so that you really feel you've earned the happy ending. This is a journey for both of them. T learns to step up and lead and take over from his Dad and all the politics of family and connections. Holly learns to be independent of her family and create a new home for herself away from Australia and her twin.

The relationship between Holly and Reilly continues to be light relief with their cross continent connection. And the adorable dominance of Bray in protecting his woman (even facing the mafia boss to do so!)

Absolutely brilliant mafia romance. This trilogy stands alone but links in with Kylie Kent's other family based romances. T is another gorgeously devastating and possessive lead and Holly is his brilliantly funny and feisty equal.
