A medic who’s used to treating bullet wounds discovers an undercover agent, or two, who want to heal her heart.

As a medic for a team of do-gooder assassins, Kennedy usually patches up her partners after they’ve taken out some of humanity’s trash.

This assignment is totally different. She’s required to risk both body and soul to seduce her ex, Knox, and convince him to double-cross the cartel he’s worked for since he left her without a backward glance.

Marcus has been addicted to Kennedy since they became partners at Shields. He can’t turn away, even if it means watching her over their comms with the jerk who broke her heart and made her swear off relationships, including one with him.

When Marcus and Knox form an unlikely alliance, to keep a new superdrug from ruining more lives—like they destroyed Knox’s—Kennedy is forced to make a continue to resist the potent chemistry they have together to protect herself or be brave enough to make up for the time all three of them have lost.

Engaging, Funny, Super Steamy

4.5 stars - If you've read other books in the Powertools universe, especially the last couple of books that Jayne Rylon has released, you've seen the growing tension between Marcus and Kennedy. It's combustible and, with a giant, unexpected push, it brilliantly explodes and burns HOT! I loved it!

That igniter? That would be the man Kennedy gave her heart to when she was just a teen. Many years after ripping out both of their hearts, Knox was knocked sideways by an event that had him doing a one-eighty with his life.

The relationship between this trio develops quickly, very quickly. While that union is beyond amazing, it also leads to uncertainty as they face adversity and their own demons. Drugs bring them together and threaten to tear them apart. Be prepared for a bit of a heart crush or two.

I love how insatiable Kennedy is once the floodgates open and her arsenal that's put to good use. 🔥🔥🔥 I also love how all of them had at least one first together and how attentive they are to the needs of the others. 😘

They take time to laugh but the true comedic relief to some of the heavy subject matter comes from one of the original Powertools members, James. More specifically, his tiny green car. I had to set my tablet aside to really have a good long laugh. 😂😂 Hilarious!

Many of the characters crossover from prior books throughout the Powertools universe but please don't let that stop you from enjoying this book. Sure, I recommend that you read at least a few of the earlier books to get a feel for the characters and this world - you're likely to better appreciate this book - but you should be able to follow along with the storyline.

I'm voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book. I can't wait for the next book to see how Sola puts Aarav in his place.

Hot damn! I cannot slow my reading of these fantastic Powertools: The Shields books! I just tell my family not to bother me for a few hours and then hunker down into my comfy reading chair and let the characters and storyline take me away from my own reality.

But while I'm removed from my reality, there's something very real and intriguing and amazing happening in Lost. Sure there are some hot and sexy **fans self** activities between the sheets, but there's also a lot of love, acceptance, forgiveness, courage, and honesty happening between Kennedy, Knox, and Marcus.

Knox and Kennedy have some demons to battle. Some much more real than imagined. With their long history, as well as a lot of buried hurt and love for each other, they have some serious baggage that they need to unpack and move on from or they'll never have a future. A future that also includes Marcus. Marcus who's been waiting in the wings, waiting on Kennedy to figure out that she deserves to be loved and be happy.

I love the dynamic between these three. There's so much hope and trust and love that's just waiting for them to get their acts together. And when they do, wowza. So freakin' fantastic! ~ Missy, 5 stars

This book has a richly complex relationship that really had me captivated. I'll be completely honest here and admit that when I started this book I had some powerful reservations about Knox and I really wasn't sure I could ever find my way to liking him. It turns out my fears were totally unnecessary. In fact I fell for these three very hard. Their connection was strong and beautiful and their chemistry hot and steamy. Add in some action, drama and danger and you have yourself an irresistible romance that checks all the boxes. This is my volitional, forthright review.

I had a hard time connecting with these characters. Possibly that's because I haven't read any of the other interconnecting books? I didn't really feel any chemistry between the 2 MMCs and their FMC. Even though she had history with them both, she seemed like an afterthought to the 2 MMCs. I enjoyed the scenes with just Knox and Marcus. 3 stars

Book 2 in the Powertools: The Shields series and it was so good. Loved the dynamics of Kennedy, Marcus and Knox. Their relationship was breathtaking and very well written. You were pulled into their story from page one. It will give you all the feels and have you on a roller coaster ride that you won’t want to get off. Great read and highly recommend this and the entire series.

Jayne Rylon does the best multi-partner books out there. Menage, polyamory, reverse harem, she can do it all. Her books give you emotional drama culminating in a happy ending like no other. But this series adds in romantic suspense with heart stopping action. If you love her work, you'll love this as well. If dark ops are your thing, you won't want to put it down. I'm lucky enough to have received this advanced copy and I loved every word!

Complex, dangerous and deep. Jayne Rylon takes readers on an emotional ride with Lost.

Lost is a story filled with tension, longings, hopes and quite a few very hot moments. Knox has been battling his own demons for years. In trying to do something right he ended up getting caught up in a game that was just too deep to get out and his addiction was a disease. In an eye awakening moment Knox digs deep for courage to do something right. If you have read previous books in the worlds that make up the series you will know that Kennedy and Marcus have something going on but it’s never been acted upon. Kennedy is holding back because of an ex that hurt her heart. Marcus, even though he has his own issues, is a saint in disguise. His way of nurturing and his patience or something remarkable. Kennedy has never lost her feelings for Knox nor has he for her. Marcus feels a connection with Kennedy and jumps on the impulse that he feels with Knox. This is a dangerous situation that could go one of two ways. It completely blows up in their faces or it can combust into something bigger than the three of them combined.

Lost is deep. Jayne Rylon gives us everything in this book. Dark past, hurt to heal from, danger on the back of your heels and a love story. Knox and Kennedy have many things to work through but with the guidance and help of Marcus at their side the three of them can accomplish anything. I like how they tackled each other's issues and allowed each other to help one another through. I really enjoyed the depth and complexity of the story. As always Jayne knows how to heat up the pages. I always enjoy a visit from characters of past books and series that always seem to make a big impact on what we are currently reading.

Sometimes there can be benefits to being in lockdown. It gives you the opportunity to sit down and devour the latest scintillating installment in Jayne Rylon’s Powertools: The Shields series and escape into their world away from being in another lockdown. Take it from me and enjoy this INCREDIBLE series from the beginning. It may seem like a lot, but these books read so fast and flow so nicely, it will definitely not feel like a chore.
Kennedy, Knox and Marcus’s romance was a PURE DELIGHT to read. Suspenseful, sexy, sassy, and incredibly entertaining, Jayne Rylon gives us her trademark stellar writing and unforgettable characters in LOST. There is heartbreak in this book and a lot of healing to be had, but Ms. Rylon does give us a happily ever after that we will never forget. From the minute this book landed on my Kindle I was a goner! You can NEVER EVER go wrong with a Jayne Rylon novel!
There are some incredibly suspenseful and dynamic undertakings that make you say no, that can’t be happening, getting you to turn the pages faster and faster as Jayne’s fabulous story telling is all engrossing. Kennedy, Marcus and Knox all have so much to give each other in their trio and I found Marcus to be the perfect lynch pin to bring them together, heal and move forward to their HEA.
This love story is a roller coaster ride of epic moments that will leave you wanting more. Jayne is a master at creating characters that will stay with you long after you have finished her books. All I can say is that I never put this one down until I read the entire book.
I highly recommend this and every book that Jayne has written. You will be hooked too!

Dr. Kennedy Emerson works with Marcus on the Shield team as their doctor. While she's attracted to Marcus, her love for a man from her past keeps getting in the way.

Marcus left the force disillusioned but found the Shields a perfect fit for his need to help others and right wrongs. He's been Kennedy's partner since she joined the Shields and has wanted more from her for a while.

Knox grew up in neglect and his attempt at doing a good thing sends him down the road to drugs and gang life. He loved Kennedy but couldn't shake his drug addiction and it cost him everything.

When the team gets an assignment to acquire Knox, Kennedy must face her past. Knox's return is both painful and cathartic as Kennedy and Knox get a chance to heal old wounds allowing them to not only rekindle their love but allowing them to love Marcus as well.

Recovering from drug addiction is difficult but Knox is motivated, getting a second chance after burning his relationship with Kennedy brings hope and healing. Rebuilding trust and allowing yourself to be vulnerable isn't easy, Marcus is the perfect partner that help them reconnect. There are stumbles along the way adding a level of realism but love wins out in the end.

These three have chemistry and when they come together things get very steamy. While you may not like some of their actions in the end, I think you'll enjoy their happily ever after.

This story was one that hit on a lot of painful issues that many authors might shy away from, including drug addiction, inadequate law enforcement, and dangerous drug distribution groups, but Jayne has never been one to shy from any topic. Kennedy finally found her way through the issues that kept her from being able to embrace a future with the men that had always held her heart. Marcus discovered that not only did he need Kennedy to complete him, but the snarky and sexy Knox was missing from his life as well. And the almost-too-far-gone Knox found a way back to the side of good, continuing to fight for his future, in the arms of two people he will always be able to count on and offered them his heart and soul in exchange for their loving support. Together the three of them made this story worth every second of pain and sorrow to read and I loved getting to experience the changes they went through right along with them. The passion was needless to say a big part of this story, between Kennedy and Marcus, Kennedy and Knox, Knox and Marcus, and of course between all three of them, but the love that bloomed between them was just as essential to read and enjoy. I cannot wait for Sola and Aarav’s story and to find out whom their third turns out to be of course, in the next story Brazen. Rylon strikes again with a blistering story of three people fighting to have a future together no matter what obstacle is thrown in their path.

Lost by Jayne Rylon is part of the Powertools: The Shields, and it was captivating and utterly delicious from start to finish! These three tugged at my heart strings had had me squirming in my seat with the tension and the chemistry!

Kennedy is world weary and battle hardened, yet still has this beautiful shimmer of innocence which manifests in how she takes care of those she loves, completely and thoroughly dedicated to those tasks, no matter the toll.

Marcus is heady, a combination of lethal and kind that hits you in the FEELS especially as you find out about his yearning, his longing, his dedication.

Knox is messed up and damaged and oh so lost with emerald eyes that hook you and make you want to fix everything, including him, though, he finds the strength to do so for himself, which is amazing to witness.

There is drama, mystery, intrigue, layered and dynamic characters galore, and great story liberally seasoned with spice and chemistry! Heated glances, mutual pining and more draws you in and refuses to let go until you're head over heels in love with each and every one of them. There's loss, redemption, and poignant second chances.

If you're searching for another amazing read that'll hook you, keep you invested, and deliver on everything you expect from a Jayne Rylon story, Lost is the book for you!

P. S. Loved seeing familiar faces and getting to know some new faces. I CANNOT WAIT for the next book in the series! Bring on Brazen!

***4 Stars***

This is another great addition to the Powertools world, and the Shields in particular. It was a quick read, filled with a good dose of drama and angst, but a whole lot of heart and heat as Kenndy, Marcus and Knox figure out exactly what they want that will make their hearts whole.

While I do hate playing favorites, especially when it comes to poly relationships, Marcus totally stole the show for me in how he handled everything that Kennedy and Knox threw at him. This isn’t to say that he didn’t have issues of his own to work out, but being the “outsider” definitely had it’s benefits. As for Kennedy and Knox, I really did like them, but they had a lot of issues to work through ~ separately and together ~ and while Marcus helped to make it less rocky, it still took a bit of time and effort, but in the end I like how everything worked out for them.

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. I was genuinely invested in Marcus, Kennedy and Knox’s romance, and I really liked hanging out with all the Shields and getting to know them a whole lot better and I cannot wait to get to know Aarav and Sola better and who will be the one to bring them together!

I am loving this new series by Jayne Rylon. Not only do we still get to see some of our favorites from previous series but we get to meet wonderful new characters to root for and steal our hearts. You could feel the tension and attraction between Kennedy and Marcus in the previous stories but didn’t know why she was holding back. We find out in this story. She has to get close to the one person who hurt her the most in order to try and stop a very dangerous drug from hurting more people. Her ex, Knox a recovering addict, has insider information and the Shields need his help. You can feel the tension and attraction that these three have for each other as they work together with the rest of the Shields team to stop the club Knox used to belong to from killing him and selling a drug that is causing a lot of deaths in their small town. When push comes to shove can the Shields trust Knox to overcome his addiction and come through for them? I cannot wait for the next book in the wonderful series.

This book is about Kennedy the Shield's medic, her ex Knox and her current partner Marcus. She has to face her past relationship with Knox while dealing with her current possible partner Marcus while they navigate the world of drugs that she thought Knox was lost too for years. Can the three of them find a way to be together without losing their hearts or their lives?

I REALLY loved this book! Kennedy was so awesome she's one of my newest Heroines. She's tough but can still be gentle and then there's Knox you can tell he's lost but he really does care for Kennedy and then Marcus he wants what's best for Kennedy but he also truly loves her himself. I loved that we get to see all the past couples and it always fun to see the dynamics between everyone. I also love how this book is just as scorching hot as every other Jayne Rylon book. The characters have chemistry the sex is hot the relationships are tight and the story is flawless. Love love love. Can't wait to read more!

Wow, I got hooked on Power Tools, Hot Rods , and Hot Rides and now the Shields bunch are taking it to another level. All the books in the series our two males and one female together, and it works. For most people it would seem like there is no way this could work but this bunch just seems to need that extra person to balance out a couple. Kennedy has been in love with Knox for so long, yet he left her behind and joined a very bad club and got hooked on drugs. Kennedy now works for shields along with Marcus. Marcus has had his eyes on Kennedy for so long. And now Knox is there. The shields need him to help bring down this dangerous club and an even more dangerous drug that is about to hit the streets. This book is an amazing ride of self-awareness, rekindling lost love, admitting to new love, and a dangerous mission that might ruin it all. This is an amazing book with wonderful characters.

Lost is the latest installment of the Powertools: The Shields. Kennedy is the medic for the team, she goes with Shields on a mission but the dangerous work, the infiltration of the target is done by the trained agents, until now. Kennedy has a past with the target of the mission, if she can convince Knox to help set up the Vipers then the success against one of the most ruthless drug gangs will have a better chance of success.

Knox is a man on a mission...to end his own screwed up life, the last thing he needs is for his biggest regret and love to walk in on his planned suicide by drug gang. He doesn’t need or want Kennedy to save him. But there she is and his heart won’t let go of the last chance he has to make things right between them. Trouble is, he’s laid so many hints that he’s the snitch that even the gang of drugged out drug gang can’t miss the mark.

Kennedy wants Marcus but doesn't want to lose what she has. Marcus wants Kennedy but doesn't want to lose what he has. And with a new case a wrinkle is thrown into the mix. Will Knox throw fire onto an already combustible situation?
I loved finding out in the latest in Jayne Rylon's The Sheild subseries of The Powertools. I love that we get to see what Kennedy and Marcus are fighting. We see that their attraction is going strong even as the fight their desires. And then we add Knox to the equation. His history with Kennedy forces not only Kennedy to face her demons but also Marcus. And Knox's demons are front and center almost from the get go. I loved seeing them not only fight their demons but learn to trust in not only themselves but also each other.
This is a wonderful addition to this series and I cannot wait to see where she will take us next.

I absolutely love reading Jayne Rylon's books and this is no exception.
The chemistry between Kennedy and Marcus has always been off the charts but she refused to take it any further than a kiss and we find out why when we meet Knox.
He has been the love that she lost years ago and has never got over but now he is back in her life but can she forgive him for leaving her the way he did.
When all three are forced to work together to bring down the Vipers the chemistry between them all is electric.
Will they be able to tear apart the drug cartel before many more people die and will they all be alive.
Full of drama and suspense with so much emotion but with their pasts will they give into their feelings for each other.

When did this shift happen? I have been reading Jayne Rylon books for a very long time. Somewhere between my beginning and finishing this book, Lost, I realized that while I started reading her for the steamy, (like on fire) sex scenes, I now get completely caught up in the storyline, the background development, the progression of both mind and soul of these characters. I love that she keeps characters from her other books fresh in our minds with each new HEA. As I got lost in this book, I found myself going through many different cycles of emotion, both for the story, the individual characters and the polyamory relationship. Kennedy, Marcus and Knox's relationship is one that frustrates, grows and gives hope. Jayne Rylon never disappoints.

Every time I read a Jayne Rylon story, I know I’m in for a treat, especially in her new series, The Shields. This story was so full of action, very emotional and lots of sexy times.

I really liked Kennedy, she’s very tough and very guarded with her broken heart. Marcus feels a connection with her but she is not willing to let anyone. The culprit for her broken heart is Knox and she is tasked with bringing him in to The Shields.

Once these three are together, the chemistry is totally there. But is it too late for them?

Such a great story, had me biting my nails with the suspense, enjoyed reading about previously couplings and a thrilling HEA. Make sure you pick up a copy to read it for yourself!

After the Shields brought on James to manage them, he built them a beautiful office and multi-dwelling home. Doctor Kennedy with her long blonde hair seems to be intimately connected to their black operative Marcus, living across the hall with access to each other's apartment, yet she's still a virgin! But when the Shields take on the Vipers, Jorden needs her to seduce her teenage lover. For some reason, the addict she left behind has become an informer and they need to capture Knox for more info. What a setup for the intrigue, thrills, reveals, healing, and wild love this story held! Recommended read!

In this latest addition to The Shields series, we get to know Kennedy and Marcus. They were introduced as characters in the previous book, and we get a bit more understanding of the complicated relationship and attraction that exists between the two. Knox, a troubled man from Kennedy’s past, is introduced in an offbeat way.

Jayne has written another wonderful, complex, unconventional, emotional, and intense story. I enjoyed the relationship between Kennedy, Marcus, and Knox.

Lost had everything I enjoy in a book- a unique, sexy, emotional story, with great characters and a bit of danger and mystery mixed in.

I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

the. power of three

Kennedy, physician to the Shields, is a solo act. Marcus wants her, but her nasty ex Knox - now a junkie and gang-banger - has ruined her trust in men, and her own judgement. This hot sexy romance is the tale of the lost sheep returned to the fold, the rewards of trust and patience, and the courage to love - again, and for the first time. It's sometimes scary, sometimes angsty, and as sexy a menage romance as Jane Rylon has ever written. I'm hooked on the Shields' stories, but I'm letting my e-reader cool down before the next in series heat hits. This is my voluntary ARC review.

Jayne Rylon weaves of tale that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. I try to start her books early in the day because I know I will have a very difficult time putting it down. Kennedy and Marcus have been dancing around each other for a while, but someone was holding back. When Kennedy's old flame Knox turns out to be the connection they need to take down a dangerous drug cartel, sparks fly between all three. How they can overcome the past betrayals, the twists, turns, action, suspense, crazy chemistry, and intense steam. I'm never disappointed with Jayne Rylon books and this was a solid 5 star read.
I recieved an ARC and this is my 100% honest review.

I am loving this new Shields series; it has that edge to it reminiscent of the Men in Blue series. This time around we have two Shield’s members, Kennedy and Marcus, who are denying acting on their attraction. Once her first love is added to the mix, things seem to be working themselves out between the three of them. Okay, it really works out and I’m surprised there wasn’t steam coming off my ereader!!! Add in the suspense storyline, and this was a one-sitting read that I couldn’t turn away from <3

There is something a little lost about us all. Kennedy, Marcus and Knox are no different. While their pasts may be complicated, and their journey towards each other confused, there is no denying the chemistry they have when they get together. Knox's doubts about being worthy, Marcus's fears of not being enough, and Kennedy's hesitation about trust are all tested when this trio is challenged to work together to stop the largest drug deal from being completed. Will they learn to rely on each other when it really matters?

Sometimes it’s takes all three to make it right!

Kennedy is trapped in the turmoil of her past and I connected with her through her pain. The loss of your first love is always the hardest to move past and Kennedy’s story is no different. That is, until Knox is spontaneously brought back into her life and only Marcus can help them heal their past pain. Knox’s passion and self consciousness is soothed by Marcus’s innate need to protect and nurture. Together with Kennedy, they make an explosive and steamy combination…. Soo good!

Have you ever found yourself at a precipice where you could turn one direction and know that you would be all right? Nothing major would happen, your heart would heal, wouldn’t do that extra-skippy-beat thing it does when you fall, but you’d be just all right? Or you could go the other way, and holy-beejezeesus, there is that catch with tears, cause you need tears, and the small breathless catch, and the release and all the wow. That wow, that is the best part. The one we all aim for. We just don’t realize it. That is what you get in Ms. Rylon’s Lost. That catch. That wow.

Lost... then found.

WOW !!
This is a very gripping and intense story with some action and very deep, strong emotions.
The long time bubbling chemistry between Kennedy and Marcus finally comes alive !!
Let's not forget the very steamy scenes in the newly formed triad; phew !!!

Always fun to visit with the other crews; I just adore James ;) !!
I really loved this book; it made a great impression on me; will read it again for sure :)

Kennedy, Marcus and Knox are the newest trio in the Shields series. Kennedy and Marcus have had a connection for awhile but Kennedy has held herself back. When her past becomes the present, and she takes on a more active role than medic, things get intense for her, Marcus, and Knox, her ex-love. This book features more of the suspense and action readers have come to love from this series. Of course there is plenty of passion between these characters and some very serious real life dilemmas thrown in. Another enjoyable and exciting read from Ms. Rylon!
