Sienna Andrews found herself in danger, alone, and out of options. She ran straight into the arms of Razor from Shepherd Security, who has been undercover in a joint Shepherd Security-DEA mission for six long months. She hires the notorious motorcycle gang leader to transport her to the wilds of Colorado, which is in the vicinity of a suspicious facility he wants to investigate.
Intrigued by this mysterious woman, Razor makes finding out who she is and what she’s running from in his mission. He quickly realizes that she is desperately in need of his protection, and is as innocent as she is attractive—not what he’d expect of a woman hiring him to help her disappear.
With the entire agency backing him up, her secrets don’t stand a chance of remaining hidden. Her biggest secret is that she just might have everything to do with his mission. The question is, will she trust him and Shepherd Security?
Shepherd Security recruits only the best. They can protect someone in trouble like no other because they work in the shadows, operating outside the system where the rules don’t apply—just the oath they took. They don’t exist. That’s also why they can break any suspect and can get answers out of anyone accused. That’s when they’re called in, when someone must be protected at all costs, or when answers must be obtained by any means necessary.
This story is realistic, with adult language and violent content on the way to the HEA. This is the third book in the Shepherd Security Series. Even though the story does continue from book to book, each is a standalone story that can be heard without listening to the prior book(s), but they are best enjoyed in order.
Margaret Kay is a wife, a mother of two adult children, a grandmother, a pet lover who makes her own dog food from scratch, and a writer of Military Romance Novels.
Margaret's husband proudly served 8 years in the United States Navy. She's a veteran of more than a few deployments as the spouse who took care of the family while her military member served halfway around the world.
Margaret has given us a bit of everything to make this a page turner. There is action, suspense, drama, danger, tension, angst, emotions, secrets, and a hell of a lot more. Twists and turns abound that you don’t see coming.
The action starts right from the beginning and keeps on coming. It is also a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but this is one series you will get addicted too. It did take me a while to get into the story and used to Margarets storytelling but once I did it is easy to enjoy the stories.
Make sure to start at the beginning as characters do cross over. The stories are told through multiple POV’s as you really get inside the characters heads and know what they are thinking and learn who they are better. These wonderful characters are well written, complex, and fully realised. These alpha men and women are saviours and will do anything to protect those who they love and those who need it to fight against evil and those who wrong others.
There is religious overtones which often had me wondering if I would continue, and the sexual references are left more to the imagination, but the stories soon outweighed all that.
Interesting story but a little dark in the development. Yes, there's violence, murder, etc., Expected in the series. The character named as Garcia's is in the middle of a vortex between him and "Razor", this character does not develop well there's too much info let out.
Jackson and Angel's baby was born and interacting with the teams. The DEA, Shepherd's Agency needs to flow and is a little slow. This story is like a "sniper" workwill 99% prepare, research and 1% is execution.
Also, the long "religious" thing is a little too long and specific.
This is a love story between Anthony (Razor) and Sienna. Sienna came home and found her husband, Greg, dead in their kitchen. She had no idea that he worked for the CIA (which she found out much later). There were people firing guns at her and she ran. Sienna ended up in the arms of Razor, Anthony, who has been undercover for the past six months trying to get info on the drugs coming into the US from the cartel. He had no idea what the story of Sienna was until his team informed him. He took care of Sienna the best way he could (since he was undercover and had to maintain it). Eventually he was discovered and had to get her and him out of their. Sienna is then introduced to the Shepherd Security Team and is reintroduced to Razor. The story continues on how Sienna falls in love with Anthony and visa versa and how they capture the bad people. It was a great book and I plan on reading the others in this series.
This KU library selection is Razor's story. He's been sent back under cover at the request of the SEA and takes on a job getting a woman to safety. The young woman is heavily made up and obviously terrified, but Razor has to stay in character to protect his cover. Then they are attacked. But is it the people after her, or is his cover blown? I really had a hard time at times going forward with this book. The female lead never gelled for me, her behavior was so erratic. I've already borrowed and begun the next book, Doc's story, which continues and increases the amount of faith based dialogue and events of the previous books in the series. It's too soon to tell if I will finish it, which is disappointing.
Sienna Andrews finds herself in danger, and ends up runnng straight into the arms of Razor from Shepherd Security, who has been under cover in a joint Shepherd Security-DEA mission for six long months. She promptly hires him to take her to Colarado. Razor digs into Sienna's background to find out what she is running from and realizes she's in need of protection. Shepherd Security discovers her secrets but the question now is, will she trust him and Shepherd Security? Sienna and the entire Shepherd Security team discover that her husband was not what he seemed!! The entire Shepherd Security team have to find out what Sienna's husband was working on to save her. There's so much more to this plot and I don't want to spoil anything for you. Lots of action, suspense, in depth analysis of both the main characters, learning curves but an enjoyable read.
I usually love this type of book, but the good guys were just assholes. The whole group drugged the main character and basically just kept telling her to trust them before they had earned it. I hated the “you must be in my bed if I’m going to protect you” rule the hero imposed in the first conversation he had with the heroine. She was paying him a lot of money to protect her, sex should not have come in to play unless she wanted it too. She was attracted to him so it would have been easy to have the sex come naturally rather than start the relationship in such a sleazy way. I couldn’t even finish the book and I usually enjoy a heavy handed hero but this one took it too far.
After coming home and finding her husband murdered in their kitchen allowing various law enforcement agencies to trampled through her house, aware they don’t necessarily think she’s not responsible or involved plus burglars searching her home and a mysterious note later, schoolteacher, Sienna Andrews is terrified and desperate.
Anthony ‘Razor’ Garcia’s been undercover in a brutal biker persona for six months assisting the DEA in a sting operation. While working a side job protectively escorting Sienna to another state, things go downhill when cover is blown and Razor has to make a quick exit from the gang but no way will he leave Sienna to their tender mercies. Rating: 3.5stars
Garcia, aka Anthony, aka Razor had to reprise hi motorcycle gang leader persona much to his dismay. Razor is rude, crude, and socially unacceptable as one of my teachers used to say lol. Sienna, aka Charity, is on the run and needs to disappear. She is put in contact with Razor and things get hot but soon the two are under attack and rescued by Alpha team. Sienna is running from the CIA, NSA and who knows what other alphabet agency after finding her husband murdered a month ago. Anthony and the teams will do whatever it takes to keep Sienna safe.
So I have read one other book in this series and cannot decide whether I like this author or this book. I liked the connection between the two main characters, however, editing errors made it difficult to read some times especially while giving a description of another character. The action was good but sometimes the details on the technical inner workings of the job were a bit much. Still it was an overall decent read.
“Razor” Anthony Garcia and Sienna Andrews story was absolutely thrilling! Like the first 2 books in this series I couldn’t put them down. The details about how security and operation details go down gives each story way more believability, including the worry of those waiting at home for the teams and significant others. Cannot say enough about Margaret’s books!
I have really enjoyed this series so far, and I can't wait to continue reading the rest! With the awesome characters, humor, drama, angst, suspenseful situations, and lots of love within this unconventional family, it's certainly not a story/series that you'll want to miss. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Another team member, who has been working undercover, is asked to protect a young woman whose husband has just been murdered. Someone is trying to kill her and is running for her life. An intense and suspenseful thriller of mystery, hidden agendas and strange alliances. And finally two people who learn to love.
The characters are well developed, and the plot is well thought out. I really liked both Anthony and Sienna. The author does a good job of making the story stand alone while weaving it into the Shepherd Security world. I’m looking forward to the next book.
There's a lot going on in this book. Angel (call sign Razor) and Sienna meet while he's undercover. She thinks he's a tatted up hang banger but decides trusting him will keep her alive. Angel doesn't know her secrets but knows he'll give his life to protect her. They'll work through who's trying to kill her and fight together to find their HEA.
I don’t know how this author can weave such believable stories. The research needed must be astronomical. These characters are becoming more like a book family to me. I am hoping everyone mentioned in these books get their story. Anthony and Sienna’s adventure was a joy to read.
This is book 3 in a fabulous series and whilst it is not essential to have read the first two , the characters are drawn from the same group ( except Sienna) and it is assumed that the reader knows where the team members fit in. There is some underlying continuity of story lines but not masses. I am really enjoying this series and getting to know Shepherd’s teams .
I love this series. I love the depth of the characters and the fast pace of the story. I appreciate that the weddings, baptism, and a few other mentions of God are treated respectfully. The few counseling sessions are handled well also. I really love this book and series. Very entertaining!!
I love Margaret Kay’s books. They tell a dynamic Military Romance with only hinting at what is going on in the Romance scene. Enough to know what is happening but UNLIKE the “50 shades of gray” effect in most of the other Military Romance books I have read. Less is more …Kudos to Margaret Kay for breaking to mould and ending up with a much better story that stands out from the rest.
I loved Sienna. But bad boy Razor played his past well. . Our H is back undercover in his ole scary biker role when the need to help Sienna rashes into him.
Notes
It was a little hard for me to wrap my head around him being a total dick to Siena when his undercover persona agreed to transport her. But! I did understand the need for it to keep her safe if she acted his girlfriend rather than a club wh0re to be passed around.
She was attracted to him and he did ask her a few times if that was what she wanted. I felt maybe she felt coerced ?
This is a great series and keeps me turning pages until I’m finished. The twist, turns, and suspense along with romance for each couple is a winning combination! I also enjoy reconnecting with couples from earlier books.
This book was hard to put down. It kept me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was going to happen next. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.
This is my first time writing a review and my first time reading this author. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story line was one that kept me reading and turning the pages. This book did not disappoint.
Another Winner for author, Margaret Kay! This book has everything a reader who loves romantic suspense would want A deep love for our country, and it's sacrificial characters come through. I have become Margaret Kay's devoted reader!
I fell in love with this series when I read the first paragraph of Protected Angel!! The heroes and heroines are so real you feel like they are part of your family.
More satisfying than rich chocolate cake or the best cheesecake. Full of twists, duped, steamy sex and with characters you wish were you best friends. Fantastic reading
This series is absolutely fantastic. I'm off to read the next book in the series. I love the closeness of the men and how they look out for each other - like brother's
A lot of scenarios going on in this book. I feel for Garcia (Razor) and what he keeps going through. It's A wonder his mind is sane. Then Siena meets Razor while he's undercover. Little did they know their lives were connected in this mess. HEA.
This was an intense book. As usual the characters are very relatable, and very real. The plot was good catch you on the edge of your seat. A very good read.
