With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.

"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."

The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.

Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.

A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.

In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.

When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

I really enjoyed this book, for the most part, but then I'm a big fan of Sherryl Woods. The only thing I didn't like was the annoying habit of many cozy mysteries that the motive for the murder wasn't uncovered until almost the end. Without knowing the motive, it's impossible to guess "who done it".

Fun, easy to read rom-com/cozy mystery. Would be good for a beach/ vacation read. First in a series.

Hot Property is by Sherryl Woods. This is one book of two in the Tropical Blues book. This book is a Molly Dewitt mystery and I found it to be pretty good.
Molly worked for The Miami/Dade Film Commission in Miami, Florida. She and her son lived in Ocean Manor in Key Biscayne. She had moved there after her divorce and after a Colombian Drug Lord had been killed under the streetlight under her front window. She wanted her son to be safe so moved to this gated community. Luckily for her, Brian was a very intelligent boy and was socially advanced for his age. His maturity and good manners were in special favor with the inhabitants of Ocean Manor. Although she didn’t play well, one of her neighbors asked her to sit in on a bridge game. Molly did and found herself in range of a quarrel between two of the other players. The next morning, she woke to find a Police officer waiting to ask her questions as she was the one to find the body. Molly begins to ask questions to help out the police detective who joined the case. The police detective is not surprised but still upset that she is looking for clues. .
As the police sergeant does his questioning and investigating, Marry too, gets in the action. The book is really good and keeps you interested if only to find out what they do next.

I have read a lot of Sherryl Wood's book when I want a fast, easy, relaxing read. This book fell into that de scripture. This book started with Molly finding a man dead by a stabbing in the hallway of her condo building. It appeared that the knife used in the stabbing was hers. Detective O'Hara was assigned the case. Molly went on her own to investigate the murder & ignored several warning to stay out of the investigation to no avail. A second person turns up dead & the ante goes up! The killer is found - who figured out who it was. Molly or Det. O'Hara? Read the book - then you can determine if you could solve "who dunnit"?

Fast-pace reading, even though unusual as a crime story since as a reader you don't really speculate on who's the murderer.
Less chemical tension between the two main characters than expected that brings up to nowhere.
I wouldn't recommend it, or it might be more intriguing to follow the plot trough an audiobook recording.

Great book. The characters were well developed and fun. Love the humor and the tension between the two main characters. Plot and storyline were excellent. Kept me fully engaged. Suspenseful. Some good twists and turns. This is the first time I've read this author and plan on continue reading the series. Highly recommend.

Key Biscayne, FL/1992

The mystery was pretty good. It involved murder, money laundering, and construction. The romance was secondary. I didn't enjoy that part of the story. There was too much back and forth.

Not your typical Sherryl Woods book. I didn't really like it. It was very slow in the beginning and hardly picked up through the rest of the book.

What a thriller! It’s a little spooky and hard to follow at times, but it’s an overall good mystery book

This is the first book of a series written by the author in the early 1990's. We are introduced to the female lead character who is living in a condo in Key Biscayne Florida. Since this is a murder mystery the reader gets the murder up front. I love the author's descriptions of the area, the lady's job, her love interest who comes with the murder investigation and her family and friends. It must be emphasized that the reader remember the year book was written because there are many references to that time. It doesn't detract from the storyline. It just makes the reader (if they are old enough!) nostalgic about those people, places and times.

This was a fast and fun read from Sherryl Woods. I was ready to put it down if there was a hint of sex, since that's the kind of book it seemed to be. However I was very happy to see that there was NONE! There is some kissing, and some "lustful" thoughts, but nothing graphic. Thank you Sherryl Woods for writing a "real-life" good romance where the characters don't fall into bed after they've known each other for 5 minutes!

Light, semi-entertaining read. No sex, some humor, not much as a mystery. I guessed the murderer on page 52.

This book reads much like a Nancy Drew mystery....no romance, very little mystery, easy to figure out the murderer.
