For five years I’ve planned, waited. Now it’s my turn to take from him.
Starting with his bride.
Niall Hudson is the key to a treasure I’ve spent half a decade hunting down. Yeah, she’s a little upset to find herself a “guest” on my pirate ship. But the mouthy, curvy and beautiful shipping heiress is going to give me what I need…one way or another. This treasure will not only bring me and my crew riches beyond our wildest dreams, but it will restore all that has been stolen from me.
But Niall isn’t submitting so easily. Even though my brother is hot on my trail, she’s playing games, issuing terms of her own. And she isn’t above turning the tables on me to get what she wants.
Game on, little girl.
Because I’ve decided I’m not satisfied with just her help. I want her. All of her.
And I’m going to enjoy every second of conquering my brother’s woman.
Published since 2009, USA Today Bestselling author Naima Simone loves writing sizzling romances with heart, a touch of humor and snark.

Naima knows she can write some romance gold mines and trust me, this one DID NOT disappoint!! The heat. The fairytale, pirates and Zaid!! Follow the smoke signal because Zaid definitely has the fire 🔥.
First time read of Naima Simone and she gave me a really interesting take on of a pirate story.
Set in 2117, this epic fantasy provides you with glimpses of past a future.
Niall Hudson is just about to commit the worst mistake ever. About to marry for all the wrong reasons her wedding is dramatically interrupted and Niall is kidnapped by her fiancée’s dishonored brother. Pirate Zaid Ito.
Niall finds out that she has been kidnapped to solve a riddle left by her grandfather who has been missing for 2 years. Zaid has been searching for years for a lost family heirloom - The Green Lady, finding it will restore his honour and reclaim his rightful position as first-born and heir of the family business.
There is adventure, betrayal, mystery and hidden treasures hidden in these pages. It is one long magical tale.
It also contains scenes of voyeurism, ménage, praise kink so if this is not your jam, stay away from this story.
First read of Naima Simone and it wont be the last. off to check the other books in this shared world.
I had no idea I was going to love this book as much as I did! I adored the story as much as I loved the characters. Zaid and Niall have a piece of my heart. Plus anything with pirates and I’m sold! I am a huge sucker for an FMC that can take care of herself and Niall completely embodies that! I’m sad it’s over.
Holy moly!! This was an enthrallingly magical pirate romance!! I was so caught up in this adventurous story. I’m mad at myself because it took me so long to read it. I actually forgot that I had it. Man, I was sleeping on a romance gold mine. I’m not surprised because Naima Simone always brings the smoke in her books. I was here to get burned y’all.
Anyway, this is a pirate love story with a futuristic twist. Niall is kidnapped on her wedding day by the groom’s brother, Zaid. In my mind, Zaid is a cat eyed tattooed hottie with cornrows. I took notes because his description was super hot. Niall assumes that Zaid is a criminal but she learns that he’s a bit complicated. As she gets to know him, she also discovers herself. As she and Zaid join forces to find a hidden treasure they find something much more valuable. They find their soulmates.
This book was really an adult Fairytale. It allowed me to go on the journey with Zaid, Niall and the crew. I absolutely loved this book!! 5 magical stars!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 peppers!!!!!!!!!🌶️🌶️🌶️
I didn't know whether to 2 or 3 this book. It had a decent plot, and it was spicy, but it was also for me, just an okay read. It's better than the previous book in this series for sure, so I went up to 3.
I liked Zaid. He actually had a decent development and back story. Niall had the back story, but it didn't feel resolved, and she became like the bloody Lara Croft of the pirate world after about two chapters. Suddenly, she was throwing knives and shooting and drop kicking and whatnot. She didn't feel natural. She felt forced into being Zaid's dream woman.
I did not like this book at all. It started okay but very slowly. Naill was not what I expected, and I didn't like her much. First of all, I'm not sure she could have had sex with someone back then. I don't think she would have been left alone with a boy at that time. Also, jump the shark and satellite phones in 2117? I don't believe so. One especially weird thing, I could have sworn the red-haired man came to the door at one time but then it was the hero she was talking to? It got worse from there. I found myself skimming just to get through it. The worst though was the sex stuff at the end. Eww.. I didn't read that whole part so I'm not sure just how gross it got. I almost gave up, but I fast forwarded to see what happened to the brother. I almost didn't even do that. This was not what I expected from Naima. Maybe I expected too much, but her other books are way better in my opinion. Definitely not for me, but I'm looking forward to her next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I feel like I’m missing something here reading all the reviews. For me the world building wasn’t there and their physical relationship kind of came out of nowhere. I felt like the emotional relationship wasn’t built well (or at all honestly) so when things all of a sudden got physical, it did not feel earned at all. This also had a lot of telling, but not showing. You tell me all these mythical creatures actually exist, but we’re on the high seas and don’t run into any of them? Also, are these mythical creatures secret because how didn’t she know about them and their existence? The whole adventure part just left me wondering “what is happening” the entire time.
On a separate note, I did the audiobook, and the accent work was absolutely atrocious. Sometimes it was posh British, other times accented Japanese, and then a weird Caribbean/American accent shows up. I think the readers would’ve been better for a story set an American English because I don’t think they were all bad. I’m just not quite sure why they were hired if they can’t do any accent work.
What I Liked ➕ I liked that there was an ASL rep ➕ Multi-cultural representation
What I Didn’t Like ➖ The world building was nonexistent. It was hard to figure out if this was in a fantasy landscape, futuristic, present, just kind of threw you into the story, which felt like you were eavesdropping on part of a conversation. ➖ Totally me, but the main female characters name is Niall, which where I come from, is a masculine name, so it just kept throwing me off. ➖ I got a little confused that she was calling her grandmother “mama” ➖ I have no problem with cursing, but when the F word is used 219 times in a 220 page book, it just seemed a little extreme for me. ➖ Upon getting kidnapped, she is drugged, and when she wakes up and her kidnapper touches her shoulder, she is immediately turned on. What??? I feel like we may be missed about 75 steps before we got to that place.
What an interesting take on a pirate story!! Set in 2117, you get glimpses of the past and the future all tied up in this epic fantasy adventure. Kidnapped at the altar by her fiancée’s dishonored brother, Niall Hudson is forced to solve a riddle left by her missing grandfather. Zaid Ito has been searching for years for the Green Lady, a lost family heirloom, to restore his honor and reclaim his rightful position as first-born and heir of the family business. Betrayal, mystery and hidden treasures await you within these pages, along with some voyeurism, ménage and steamy hawt moments!! You don’t want to miss out on this one!!!
The Pirate Ziad is a tortured man set out for revenge against his family and needs the Princess Niall to achieve his plan. Ziad didn't count on his attraction or his deep need for Niall. Niall was all set to marry Deion (even though she didn't love him) until the pirate comes and crashes the wedding. Now Niall is falling harder than she's ever fell for anyone and is willing to do anything for love. Ziad and Niall journey out to sea experiences things they've never experienced before and falling deeper and deeper in love. Such a wild exciting voyage that was definitely worth reading.
I will preface this review by noting this is not my preferred genre. I normally don’t read futuristic or “fantasy” type books. But I DO read Naima Simone books. As far as the writing goes, Simone did not disappoint. She is able to weave a story and draw the reader into it. Niall and Zaid’s story was so incredibly hot and passionate. There was suspense and drama, and steamy scenes that only Simone can write. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy a fantasy read or anyone who loves Naima Simone!
There is just something about a pirate romance, isn’t there? Maybe it is our deep-seeded need to see that bad boy fall. Maybe it’s the lack of conforming to societal norms. Maybe it’s the searching for treasure. Maybe it’s the high sea, the openness, the lore, and the wildness of it all. Whatever it is, this book had it in spades, and, our kick-butt heroine gives as good as the boys. Totally enthralling, unable to set it down, and buzzing with excitement even once finished, I loved everything about this book and could easily read more, and more, and more <3
Niall Hudson is the shipping princess, granddaughter to a centuries old shipping family. Zaid Ito is the son outcasted by his younger brothers lies and deception. Zaid crashes Niall’s wedding to his brother and kidnaps her to find the treasure to restore him to his rightful family head position.
The story is full of danger, intrigue, $ex, and a retelling of Atlantis, the lost city that only a few pirates actually know is true.
Niall and Zaid get their happy ending, but not without bloodshed, murder, and The Siren’s Song.
More like 3.5 stars but 4 stars felt like too much. Listen, I wanted to like this one, but the moment I read the phrase “made-for-fucking mouth” I knew all hope was lost. I had a hard time with how many times the FMC is described as “tight”; it just felt wrong to me. And their sex and kiss scenes- why are they always so angry? It’s always described as a “battleground” or like they’re “fighting for dominance”. Ew. Why can’t there be a little gentleness too? The only reason it gets so many stars is because of that threesome scene 🥵 iykyk
this was fun but very hard to get into in the beginning. I also felt like the physical relationship manifested out of nowhere? honestly maybe my tired brain just didn't comprehend enough while read this at night.
but the spice was holy gods amazing so there's that. I would definitely try a different Naima Simone book after this - she understand tension and spice very well! on to the next dangerous tides book!
I selected this title because I love Naima Simone’s books. I haven’t read one I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. I wasn’t sure I wanted to read this one because when I read the blurb and it talked about pirates, I thought I was in line for a historical romance. Nope! And I’m glad I read it. Another great story with People of Color in the leads, Black women doing the dang thang, and hot sex scenes. I can’t wait for the next book.
The story was unusual and fun. I enjoyed both Zaid and Niall. I particularly like that Niall wasn't a damsel in ditress but still very feminine. I wa disappointed that Rurik wasn't a protagonist too as all 3 of them uncovered the clues and had chemistry. It would have been fun.
I really couldn’t get into the story at all! Which is so rare with a short book for me.
I think it was a combination of confusing world setting; set in the future, but then pirates, but then smart businessmen…
Plus as a Brit don’t get me started on when characters are supposed to be British, but then say words no English person would say. A pet peeve of mine.

I'm sorry, is the name Niall a unisex name? Because Niall Horan's face kept popping into my mind when I read that LOL! And I'm not even a O.D fan.
Anddd coming from an Asian reader, Zaid's name was pretty fucking weird. Zaid Ito. Soooo his dad's Japanese, and his mom was what? Middle Eastern? Is this author a Zayn Malik fan as well?
Not my favourite writing style (nothing wrong with it, just not for me), but that characters were a joy and I enjoyed reading this book quite a bit! Would reccomend if you're intrigued by the premise or enjoy the other books in the series.
Every. Single. Time. Naima Simone drags me in and wraps her stories around my heart every single time! Oh just a fun pirate story....FALSE!! This was thoughtful and beautiful and so freaking sexy and fun, mixed with danger and intrigue. I loved every single moment of it!!!
3.5⭐️ I enjoyed this one, but for a shorter story, it took me a really long time to read for some reason. I don’t really know how to pinpoint what wasn’t keeping my attention, but overall I found it to be a decent plot line with some super spice sprinkled in.
To Conquer A Bride was such an awesome combination of spice, sweet, action, adventure, swashbuckling shenanigans and so much more. I loved it and definitely recommend it. It's such an enjoyable read.
This high-energy read had me captivated and consumed. The combination of action, emotion, drama, romance, intensity, heat, and twists is rich and enticing. Niall and Zaid will steal your breath and heart as they keep you glued to the pages.
Pirates, a mystery, a forbidden love - yes, please! This was a fun, quick read with hot MCs, found family, and a good chase through a future world after the bride gets kidnapped from her own wedding. Naima Simone never misses, and this was a great little fantasy.
The good guys won! This book is whimsical and futuristic! This history lesson in here will make you want to decipher every nursery rhyme! This couple endured it all and love won! Deion was the villain & deserved the end he got!
