This book was just what I needed! Soemthing was a bit different it was such a pleasant, easy read. However, I do wish we had a follow-up. I kinda feel like this story could be carried on.
It has a dual timeline of 1978 and 2018, basically teen years to the present day.
A single mum Violet and her daughter Tara struggle to get by, but they are happy and make it work, until Violet meets Larry, a man that takes a big interest in her, but unfortunately not her daughter. He takes Violet off to Spain for a holiday without Tara .She has got a feeling all is not well with him, but her mum dismissed her and goes anyway. Tara gives her mum a present before she goes which is a locket for her 30th birthday engraved with the date and her name she then waves her off and that is the last time she sees her mum she never returns from Spain. Tara manages to get on with her life until 30 years later she gets a phone call to go and collect a package in the package is her mums locket, which sends her on a mission to find out what happened to her mum and why she never returned. Will she get any answers? You'll have to read it and find out!
I enjoyed this story, however the first half of the book bounced back and forth between several story lines spanning decades. Moving from one era to another with completely different characters was a bit confusing and jarring. It wasn't until nearly halfway through the book that I was able to see a connection between them.
Book starts with multiple stories lines. For the first half of the book your bouncing around. Then around 50% through Tara story lines starts to bring the other into focus. Wasn't a bad read but have a lot of time line issues.
