This book discusses how to have victory in any area of your life by making decrees. She says it's not enough just to meditate on Scripture, prophecies and promises we've recieved, but we need to declare these things from our mouth to create an atmosphere of victory. She says, "We must marry the power of prayer and the authority of the decree. Prayer is our petitions, communication and fellowship with God, while decrees are God's words released through our voices into the earth realm to bring change. These words, which can be Scripture, or prophetic words or promises we receive from the Lord, are formed into declarations and spoken out loud. They can be degrees one writes in advance, or spontaneous anointed declarations made in the moment of need."

Not only does she teach on the power of making decrees, she gives step by step instructions on how to form your own decrees and then taking them and declaring breakthrough.

She encourages her readers to choose any area of their lives in which they need to see breakthrough and to begin praying fervently in the Spirit; this will generate an atmosphere of freedom in which we can then take time to listen to the Holy Spirit, and write the decrees He is speaking to us. We write down this decree and speak it out of our mouths to generate freedom in any area (miracles, prosperity, posterity, peace, God's purposes...).

Throughout the book she includes decrees she has written that can be emulated. My favourite chapter in this book was on the topic of divine reverals. I leave this review with the decree at the end of this chapter:

This is my time of divine reversal. Whatever the enemy has meant against me for evil is being turned for my good. Whatever schemes the enemy has formed in secret will be uncovered and boomerang back on his own head. I will spend my favor and expect to see new open doors of opportunity so I can advance the Kingdom of God and my destiny. I will write new decrees and join them with my prayers of intercession to see breakthrough happen. God will turn
my mourning to dancing, my sorrow to joy, my sickness to health, my lack to abundance and my doubt to faith. God is turning things around for me!

In Declarations for Breakthrough, Jane Hamon explored the topic of speaking an declaring the Word of God over your life. She explained the incredible power of God speaking and how one word can change your family, health, finances, atmosphere, nation, and cause heaven to come to earth. Throughout the book, she went into detail about the Old Testament examples that displayed the power of words. Some of these included, “creation, tower of Babel, the burning bush, plagues in Egypt, Balaam’s donkey, walls of Jericho, and sun standing still”. She shared how we need to focus on our thoughts and how we need to open up our mouths and declare what God says. She described what a decree is and how some books contained them. She looked at how God spoke the world into existence and how Jesus also revealed the decrees in His teachings. She begins the book by sharing the decree of the abundance of rain and God called her to declare it in one of the cities that she was going to be speaking at. She explained how God answered that response and the joy that was released in the community.


I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to receive the power of God’s written Word and to speak His promises out loud over our life and our circumstances. I immensely loved the declarations she included at the end of each chapter to encourage readers to speak it out loud to get in alignment with God and His Word. I also liked how she include in the last chapter for breakthrough different areas where we can declare over our lives such as, “spiritual warfare, protection, blessings and prosperity, health and healing, peace, family, nation”, and much more. I also connected with the different stories she shared about her own life and in the lives of others about how they declared the Word of God over their life and how it changed things. I liked how she guided readers into speaking the right words, decreeing, activating the anointing, and agreeing with God.

What amazing and powerful words we find in this book, Jane Hanon gave us a full and complete explanation of how declarations work in the spiritual realm and the power that goes within. I believe this book is a must-read for every Christian that believes in the power of prophecy according to God’s world, with practical and easy advice on each chapter we found how we can write our own declarations for a breakthrough, I am amazed by the connection between our words and how they can active God’s plans for our lives, the necessity on truly knowing God and his power and listening to his voice. My only recommendation with this book, please take your time, it may be short and easy to read. But I found it important to take time, slow down, review the bible verses and work on writing your own declarations.

I really enjoyed this book! The timing of receiving it is providential. There is so much power in decreeing and declaring the Word of God, out loud, over our lives. I’ve read a few books about this recently. This can’t be a coincidence. We are to take authority over our lives. The declarations included in this book are powerful and I loved declaring them over different areas of my life. I like Jane Hamon’s work and find her very inspirational. I enjoyed reading Jane’s personal testimonies and stories. Very encouraging, motivational and easy to read. The declarations are life changing.

Wow! So many times I picked this book up after a conversation with a friend and read exactly what we had talked about... so inspiring! So well-timed and relevant for me in the moment— and the written decrees using scripture, I will use them again and again. There are also how-to pages to learn to write our own. I cannot recommend this book enough. Get one! Read it! Decree the Word over your life, your family, your friends.... to God be the glory!

I've had the privilege of hearing Jane Hamon speak at our church a couple times and I have some of her other books/cd teachings. I love that I can "hear" her voice in her latest book, Declarations for Breakthrough.

This was a very encouraging book for me and a great reminder to declare the Word of God. I feel like I learned a lot and that I'll be reading it again and taking more notes.

This is a book that every child of God should have. I have the audio version but am going to order the hard copy as well. It is filled with declarations every child of God can pray for every situation in your life. All God’s Word that are his promises to us. This book will increase your faith in Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit. I learned a great deal from reading and applying this book. I highly recommend if you want to grow in your faith and relationship with Almighty God.

Phenomenally Empowering!

I love the teaching aspect of this book. Not only does Jane Hamon give you scriptures to back up what she is teaching about, but she also tells amazing real life stories that are encouraging and full of prophetic insight.... And then she manages to wrap up each chapter with a personal decree that feels like it was tailor made for you!!!

Jane Hamon teaches up how to partner with God to release breakthroughs. She dives deeply into teaching how to hear the voice of the Lord and then to release what He is saying. She also gives us many examples of power make petitions of breakthroughs.

Great Declarations

I liked this book because the declarations were Word-centered. The declarations related to the specific chapters. I will use these declarations and write my own based on the instructions.
