Love and duty in World War II.

I can’t help it! Anything to do with Bletchley Park grabs me. A place of secrets and mystery. The British War machine well and truly in gear. Rosemary Frost’s travails and hurts are put aside as she turns to joining the WRNS (Wrens) as part of her war effort. Only that becomes a bitter disappointment. But she wasn’t forgotten and a friend, John Palmer, had a word in the right ears. Rosie is good at math and speaks Italian. She signs the Secrets Act and ends up at Bletchley Park. Just as she’s becoming comfortable, a new CO, Lieutenant Commander Hugo Garfield turns up. A man she has HISTORY with. Can she push down her feelings, feign the consummate professional, and work with him? A winningly woven novel of spycraft and personal history. Very enjoyable.

An Avon ARC via NetGalley.
Many thanks to the author and publisher.

The Secrecy Clause

A story that you can't put down, stayed up way to late into the early morning to finish it. I love Rosie's character and all the other characters are wonderful as well, even Alice. It's a story of war, romance, unfortunate situations, heartbreak, forgiveness, love and even a bit of sibling rivalry. Young hearts, young love and a lot of growing up in between.

Set in the backdrop of WWII this historical romance has a little bit of everything. Secrets galore, private and at work, a lot of romance and some good old time bonding amongst the women working at Bletchley Park.

These women worked some long and difficult shifts translating enemy messaged from the Italian and putting them together to help the Army better maneuver and protect its men in the Navy. Their work was secret and it was important. The job was demanding as were the supervisors. The results could be a matter of life or death for someone.

This was another great Bletchley Park story and I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks to Molly Green for writing another great story, to Avon Books U.K. for publishing it and to NetGalley for providing me with a copy to read and review.

I am fascinated by the work that went on at Bletchley Park during WW2. The title of this book caught my eye immediately. I love the dedication at the beginning to those, especially women, who served without understanding their contribution at Bletchley Park.

Rosie wants to do her part for the war effort and ends up at the highly secretive Bletchley Park only to encounter someone from her past that she never thought she would see again.

This book was well-written. I was drawn into the story immediately. I really cared about the characters. I was a little disappointed that the action doesn't move to Bletchley until 100 pages into the story, but the focus of the story was Rosie not B.P., I would have preferred more of a historical fiction than a romance, but that is just my own preference.

I particularly enjoyed learning a little bit about what it was like for women at Bletchley Park during WW2.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Okay, I’m officially requesting that this series becomes 10+ strong series of books, because I could honestly read them forever. I loved Summer Secrets at Bletchley Park and now a Winter at Bletchley has just made a fantastic addition to what has been a fantastic series so far.

I love that the author has seriously done her research on this and what life was like working for BP. It really shed some light on the code breaking and the different jobs, departments and ‘huts’ and everything that went on. It’s really sparked an interest in me into these kind of books and now I just want to read and learn more! I seriously loved it. Can we get more books on the different types of jobs and work the girls did at Bletchley? My appetite has been well and truly wetted.

This one follows Rose, or Rosemary and her path to Bletchley. Which has not been smooth I can tell you that! There was so much to her character and I adored her and her story. I was honestly on the edge of my seat (stress anxiety eating biscuits as I read the story unfold, wanting desperately for everything to have a happy ending for her!).

I read the first book right before this one but it honestly wasn’t needed. If you haven’t read the first one, worry not! This one works as a standalone in its own right and you could even read this one and then the first (I certainly recommend reading them both, they’re great!) but you needn’t have read the first to enjoy this one to the full.

Great story. Great characters. Wonderfully written and oozing wartime spirit. Couldn’t ask for more!

Thank you to the author and publisher for this book on NetGalley in return for my honest thoughts and review.

I do love novels where the implied reader knows more than the characters in the story. And what a complex plot Molly Green weaves. Rosie navigates many challenges in her journey to find her true path. I also enjoyed meeting Dale again in a cameo role from Summer Secrets at Bletchley Park. Roll on book three of The Bletchley Park Girls.

Too much angsty worrying, I truly wanted to shake the heroine, because of her lack of initiative.

Rosie should have been married by now. But her fiance left her at the altar six years ago without explanation and her heart is still trying to recover. Now she has been denied her dream job in the WWII effort as she has an illegitimate child which is against regulations. Her family life is a mixed blessing which causes her joy and pain. The past has a way of creeping into the present. But thankfully someone values her skills and potential and she becomes a codebreaker at Bletchley Park during WWII. She also meets tender and kind John and makes friends at her new job. War destroys so much but it cannot kill her spirit!

Historical Fiction lovers, this book has your name on it, especially if you enjoy romance as well. Author Molly Green writes with that special extra bit of something which evokes the entire gamut of emotions. Not only that but the historical information is fascinating to read about, such as the Utility Clothing Scheme and codebreaking duties.

My sincere thank you to Avon Books UK and NetGalley for providing me with an early digital copy of this fabulous book, the second in the incredible Bletchley Park series. The first was amazing, the second just as good...makes me wonder what the third will bring!

This book was just as gripping as the first one. It's well written, I love the main character Rosie and as soon as I finished a chapter I just wanted to start the next one. It's interesting reading about the goings-on at Bletchley park & other aspects of England in Wartime. I now have the rest of Molly Green's book on my to-read list.

As with her previous series The Victory Sisters, this series is focusing on a different character with each book. The first followed Dale's story and this time round is her friend Rosie.

Stood up on her wedding day when she was 17, Rosemary Frost (Rosie) longs to join the WRENS however fate would have it, after a friend of hers has word in the right ears, that her war efforts would see her working alongside Dale at Bletchley Park. It seems Rosie is fluent in Italian and is a dab hand at maths - both of which work in her favour with her newfound position.

As luck would have it, just as she is getting used to her new normal and getting comfortable, the new Lieutenant Commander is introduced - Hugo Garfield, a face from Rosie's past. Fighting her feelings for this man she thought she would never see again, Rosie sets to focusing on the job at hand but her skills are questioned and so she tries to move past that by moving to another hut and making new friends.

But the past has a way of catching up with you...Can Rosie put it behind her without it ruining her job?

A WINTER WEDDING AT BLETCHLEY PARK is naturally predictable but an enjoyable read all the same. I love Molly Green's easy reading style, making the story come alive and immersing the reader into another time and place. She brings fact into fiction without bogging us down with history. I love the steady pace and the heartwarming story that kept me reading until the very last page.

Overall, an enjoyable heartwarming read and I look forward to the next in the series.

I would like to thank #MollyGreen, #Netgalley and #AvonBooksUK for an ARC of #AWinterWeddingAtBletchleyPark in exchange for an honest review.

This is an excellent look at women inside the Italian division at Bletchley Park, decoding, rewording and tracking the communications received. A young woman who had been jilted on her wedding day, and later had a baby, is our guide. Rosie had to have the baby raised as her little sister, due to the morals of the day. This wrong-foots her when she joins the WRNS - which already didn't really want her as apparently that service was for naval officers' daughters. Rosie is from an ordinary house in Norfolk and her dad is a fireman.
Much happens that really would have happened to women at this time, such as the Yanks coming to dances, rationing of clothes, food and coal, and worry over marrying and continuing to work for the war effort. The secrecy and formality at Bletchley are uppermost.
I love the part where author Barbara Cartland is collecting wedding dresses to rent out to war brides for free. We're told Miss Cartland also worked in the ATS from 1941 until well after the war's end. Women celebrating women makes for a great read.
I read a paperback. This is an unbiased review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for "A Winter Wedding at Bletchley Park" by Molly Green.

Rosie's life changed completely when she was stood up on her wedding day at 17. Now that the war has come again she wants to do her part but mistakes from 6 years ago could make all that impossible.

I've been lucky enough to read both of The Bletchley Park Girls books that have come out so far and while they are not high brow literature they are a fun and entertaining read. They always have a plucky woman who's love has disappeared (or in this case stood her up) and some sort of misunderstanding that gets sorted out in the end. This predictable experience in no way takes away from my enjoyment of these stories.

I love the getting used to being at Bletchley and the information about what happened in Bletchley Park that we are learning because each book so far holds someone working in a different position. The rest of it makes for a feel good quick read that makes for a good palette cleanser after a book that may have been more difficult.

Fun, light reading, 3 stars.

Rosie was meant to get married, but when her fiance does not turn up this leads to events out of her control.

Still being punished for her past, she finds herself at Bletchley Park; it isn't long before ghosts from her past appear and old emotions are ignited.

This was such a lovely read! I honestly could not put this book down and cheekily read ahead to different sections to then come back and carry on from where I left off. (I never usually do this to books).

The narrative was full of family, secrets, romance and new friends, with every character unique and bringing depth to the novel.

Every reader will love the character of Rosemary, who is determined in everything she does. And I adored the character of Poppy, which Green truly depicts as a young innocent 5-year-old with her speech and mannerisms that made my heart melt.

A really wonderful read to start my 2023!

Picked it up in a library display, just on spec. There was no heart on the spine ! This was just a tease with Bletchley Park covering a sickening, soppy love story. It should have been called Macarthur Park!
There was nothing about the code breaking or operations at BP. A woman is jilted at the altar, and later, working at BP, finds that her boss was the guy who jilted her. The woman is a pathetic creature, who seems to have two opposite personalities. Job-wise, rather confident and decisive, but everywhere else an emotional mess. Unbelievable, and completely unlikeable. I skimmed through hundreds of pages and missed nothing. DNF so no rating. Just note the title and cover convey a false impression.

This is the second in the series by Molly Green but it can definitely be read as a stand alone. This book focuses on Rosemary who got jilted at the altar by Hugo when she was just 17. Six years later, she begins a job in Bletchley Park at the time of World War 2 where she happens to.meet up and work with Hugo again. Will Rosemary and Hugo finally get their happily ever after?
This series is so well written and gives the reader a brilliant insight to the fantastic work carried out in Bletchley Park during the war.
I hope this series continues as I love the setting of Bletchley Park.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the advance read of this title. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the story of Rosie. I found her backstory incredibly sad but loved how things also happened for a reason. Once you knew Hugo's explanation my heart broke a bit more. All the what it's.

Once I started reading this I just couldn't put it down I just loved it from cover to cover. It's the second book in the series but it works just as well as a standalone.

I loved the author's notes at the back explaining the historical facts woven in the books. I just loved the Barbara Cartland part, I never knew she did that! My only niggle is the title, it's a big spolier! But that said I enjoyed the journey to the wedding.

If you love these kind of books you will love this one too

A fabulous second novel in the Bletchley Park series by Molly Green.

Rosieis jilted at the altar at 17. When she thinks life can't get any worse than that, war breaks out. Six years later she signs up to help with the war effort but is unceremoniously sacked when they discover she has a secret. However her skills lead her to a job at Bletchley Park, where she meets a familiar face. Can she get through her past to make her future?

An easy read, that works well as a standalone. The reader does meet characters from the first book again, but this story doesn't rely on them having previous knowledge.

‘A Winter Wedding at Bletchley Park’ by Molly Green is a great winter read.
Rose was all set at 17 to marry her childhood sweetheart but something she never thought would happen did and she was jilted at the alter.
Rose continues to live her life and try and move on from this, even though it is hard.
Set in World War Two times, Rose tries to do her bit for the war effort and lands a job at Bletchley Park where things take an unexpected turn.
This book is a compulsive read and you long to keep reading to see what happens.
The characters are well written and you care what happens to them.
A greatly researched and very readable book that I highly recommend.
Thanks to the author and Avon books in allowing me to read for a review.

More than a romance

I'm very. Interested in books about Bletchley Park , these books are more than fictional romances as they are glimpses into social history. Such as the wedding dresses provided by Barbara Cartland , an author I've enjoyed reading in the past . Books like these are informative woven into the storyline. We learn of the hardship ordinary people suffered and their determination to keep the morale up. Today many people would be amazed at how strict parents were compared to today's society with relaxed attitudes, we've definitely lost self respect , integrity and pride in the community. I shall read more of this author's work.

On the whole I really enjoyed this story. Felt I could have wrung some necks at times, but Rosie had more patience than I have. The father was a boorish, tiresome person who was one neck I could have wrung. However I got hooked on the story finding it hard to put down. When I bought this book I didn't realise there was an earlier book so have now bought that and the 3rd book in the series.
Stories that are set during the wars I find so very educational, being from NZ one feels so far away from British history. I had not heard of Bletchley Park, now I have and its fascinating and I'm looking forward to reading the other two books.
Very good story that I recommend.

Second book in the Bletchley Park series is the story of Rosie Frost. From Norfolk, Molly is jilted at the altar by Hugo and discovers she is pregnant. Her daughter is being raised as her sister and Rosie joins the war effort first a a WREN and next as an analyst at Bletchley. When Hugo turns up as her boss the sparks still fly, although Aristide is not soon to forgive him. When the real story comes out how he left her at the altar, she must decide if she wants him back. I have enjoyed this series!

I really found this book this book interesting.

We start with Rosie getting married but circumstances happen and she doesn’t marry Hugo. Rosie decides she needs to help the War effort so she joins WRNS but is dismissed. She ends up at Bletchley Park where she ends up meeting Hugo again. Will they end up together or not?

I liked the characters and found it fascinating what they did at Bletchley Park.

Well written and how the woman civilians were treated to how the woman who were in the forces.

Bletchley Park 2nd book

I liked this book much better than the 1st in this series. This tells the story of Rosie who grew up rather poor in a crowded house due to sisters and a brother. It was a constant struggle to buy things and feed the family. And of course once the war started, it was so much more difficult. Rosie was to be married but was jilted before the ceremony took place. That's more then enough of a giveaway. Read how Rosie worked in the war effort to end the war and how it took 6 years to come full circle with her true love.

The second book in the Bletchley Park Girls series and it's a winner. I read the first but you absolutely do not have to in order to enjoy this one as a standalone. The setting is wonderful and I like that this story had a bit more meat to it. There is a bit of drama and the characters are complex. However, we get our happily ever after. I hope there will be more books in this series.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book!

The second book takes place at Bletchley Park, but you can read it as a standalone.

I actually liked this book better than the first book. There is a lot of focus on the work the men and women did at the Park which is really interesting. Rosier was an interesting character and I liked how she stood up for herself and what she wanted. The story itself was rounded up well and I enjoyed the flow of the book.

Lovely

I read the first book and.I loved it so I bought the second book which is equally brilliant: I have now bought the third book and I am certain I will love this every bit as much as I did books 1 and 2, Rosie and Hugo had problems in the beginning but eventually Rosie found out the truth. I won't say any more so I don't spoil it for anyone who has just got it or thinking about getting it all I will say is ENJOY.

I was hooked from the beginning of this story. Following Rosie's story was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. I loved the twists and turns. It really opens your eyes to what the people at Bletchley Park endured during their employment there. There were some really lovely characters who were so helpful and supportive of each other. This was a truly uplifting read.

I really enjoyed this book, the second in the Bletchley Park Girls series. I actually liked it better than the first one, although I enjoyed both. Green's characters are believable and likeable. And the plot had plenty of twists and turns. Even if your not a World War II fan like me, you will love this book.

Wow what an up and down emotional read! I really enjoyed this WW2 novel based around Bletchley Park. It really showed how life would have been like in England in the 1940’s with the prejudices towards single mothers and the difficulties they faced particularly in war time. It had incredible highs and lows & hope and hopelessness. A great read, highly recommended.
