Joining the army was nowhere on Trenard’s vision board but, the one time he doesn’t trust his gut, he gets caught up and now he’s facing some serious jail time. The judge gave Trenard an ultimatum. Join the army for three years or go to jail for five years. Well, you can already guess which option he chose, and it wasn’t the latter. But, surprisingly so, the army is not as bad as Trenard thought it would be. He’s actually excelling at basic training and passing all of his drills with ease. While on an impromptu visit to the commissary, he sees the woman who’s going to be the future Mrs. McAllen. Now, Trenard will be the first one to tell you, he ain’t no love at first sight kind of ninja but, all that changes when he sees Remi.
After graduating from her master’s program, Remi is back in Crescent Falls and back on Fort Atkins Military Base ready to start her new job. She’s spending the day with her mama and helping her shop for the new recruits picnic which, is being held at her parent’s house. While struggling to grab a case of beverages, she feels a pair of hands at her waist giving her a little lift. When she comes face to face with the helpful stranger, she turns into a smitten kitten. The attraction is instant, and the chemistry is intense. After dealing with her cheatin’ azz boyfriend, Trenard was the breath of fresh air Remi needed. I loved how she never judged him because of his background, and how she wouldn’t allow her daddy to judge him either. When it came to Trenard, Remi stood on business. That was her man, and she was gon’ stick beside him.
I really enjoyed Under Love’s Command. The storyline was engaging, and it kept me entertained from start to finish. I loved the comradery between Remi and Trenard, I loved the romance, and I loved the family dynamics. I also loved that the story was centered around the army. We definitely need more military romances. 🪖🎖 Well done Ms. Charity.
