Timelines thus noy jumping around it maintains the flow, what keeps it focussed is that its told from perspective of Ruler and Location, Kiev/Kyiv, Novograd, Moscow/St Petersberg/LeninGrad. The Journey os Rus as a Nation in a wife transcends the movement of its Centre of Gravity moving across these cities, started as Rag Tag group kf Raiders/Tribes who cant get into consensus ending up inviting a Viking to Rule ovee them

I loved the Part when Lenin Takes over and how he warns on his death bed to suppress Stalin before he rises. The death and demise the fake promise of Utopia by Socialst/Communist/Leftist and its costly (Human cost) experiments are also dvelled well on. Written by Mark Galeotti a foremost voice in west on Russia a Visiting Fellow to Institute of Interntaional Relations in Prague have kept the book Lucid and Interesting.
